ShinYin is a full Chinese who lives with her father and brother in Singapore. Her mother passed away due to an illness when she was really young. Shin Yin lives to sing and dance and aspire to be a Vocalist when she is older. Her father is a music teacher in a primary school and her brother is in America for further studies. Shin Yin is able to speak English, Chinese and Korean.

Shin Yin seems cold and distant at first impression, but it is just her way of hiding her shyness. But after getting to know her better, Shin Yin is actually a very lively girl with a bubbly personality. She loves to play pranks on her friends and enjoys showering hugs on them all. However, Shin Yin can be really scary when irritated or infuriated. Shin Yin always puts others before herself and is willing to sacrifice her own happiness just to make the people she care about happy. Yes, even if it meant giving up on the guy of her dreams for someone who loves him as well, and that he will be happier with someone else other than her, she will do it.

But Shin Yin rarely smiles. She secretly really loves to smile, and she actually looks like an angel when she did. But due to her past experience where she was rejected by a guy whom she has confessed to, and was insulted as being ugly because of her smiles. Thus Shin Yin hides herself behind her camera, always snapping photos of people when they smile.

Shin Yin may seem like a strong character who never backs down and is dependable, Shin Yin is actually very vulnerable. She breaks down when people tells her she is useless and not worthy of someone else. However, Shin Yin never cries in front of anyone, and will only retreat into her own personal world to let out her feelings. Shin Yin also enjoys star-gazing by the river or at the rooftop, playing guitar at times and singing to her favourite song: Can U Smile.
