personality :

"I love my life." - Dancing in the rain, making flower crowns, creating snow angels or jumping into a pile of leaves - this is who HyunJae

is. She's cheerful and carefree. It's obvious that HyunJae is a girl who loves life. She enjoys every moment in life that she is blessed with, be

it positive or negative. Furthermore, she's very sentimental. Whenever it's her friends birthday she tries to give them something meaningful. If

they were to tell her they wanted a rock for their birthday, she'd give them a jar filled with rocks and glow in the dark stars. She tries to make all

her actions meaningful and touching in some way because she wants to be remembered by people as someone extremely considerate and

kind. She has a heart of gold and is always willing to help out others; even if it means she'll get hurt in the end. In this sense she is very naive

because it is easy to twist her and manipulate her into doing good things, but for the wrong reasons. However, due to HyunJae's kind-hearted

nature; she can't help it. If there's somebody who needs her help; she'll help them.

"Bring me back to tomorrow." - HyunJae's a person who lives in the past. She's the girl who you see taking pictures of every

moment, capturing laughter and strange antics on her camera, recording and documenting everything. This is because she doesn't want to

forget anything - the laughter of her best friends, the cherishable moments that she finds herself laughing at randomly in the day, the

special moments that she finds herself smiling at.  You can tell that she cherishes memories simply by walkinginto her room to see nothing but

rows and rows of pictures plastered on her walls. She's a person who can't let go of the past. It seems like every day she's stuck on memory

lane; reminiscing. She knows that things won't stay the same forever - friends drift, people change, best friends  become enemies - that's all

apart of growing up. It's something that she knows but can't accept. Really, HyunJae's just a person that's afraid of the future. She's afraid of

what it'll bring. She's scared of change because change means different, and different usually means stepping out of her comfort zone.

"Ohana" - Underneath her bright exterior and behind her cheery grin, HyunJae's actually a very shy person. She finds trouble befriending new

people and is often seen as the awkward wall flower. This is why she cherishes her friends so dearly. She's the girl who has a small group of

tight-knit friends who she calls her ohana; her tribe, her clan, her family. If there's one thing she hates the most it's change. She gets easily

hurt when her friends befriend new people and start to forget about her. It's selfish; because why should she hold her friends back from

happiness? Which is why she always keeps quiet and watches as her friends replace her with new people. Furthermore, whenever she meets new

people she never really stays close with them. In the end she's always running back to her childhood friends; the people that she's been with

since day one. She finds it more comforting to be around the people who have been there for her through all the ups and downs, who have

seen her cry and have truly earned her trust than to have to go through it all over again with complete strangers. 

"What's a soulmate?" - HyunJae is a hopeless romantic at heart. No matter how stupid it sounds to other people she believes in after

marriage, hand-written love letters, the boy courting her parents, romantic walks on the beaches and midnight sneak outs to drive in movie

theatres and cheap burgers. She believes in the idea of a soul mate, and the red string of fate, and the greek mythology in which god cut the

human in half and their life journey is to find their missing half. HyunJae's a girl who loves truly and deeply and her friends truly believe that

whatever guy ends up with her will be lucky. Not because she is sweet and caring, but because she will shower him with so much love and prove

to him every day how much she loves him. However, because of this strong belief of a soulmate she's never kissed a guy before and she's

never had a boyfriend before - which makes her very innocent. Her ideas of love have been built up through watching countless chick flicks and

reading fanfiction online so it's safe to say that if her soul mate isn't as romantic and sweet and handsome... basically if he's not her ideal

prince charming; then she's going to be up for a huge disappointment.

dream job : HyunJae wants to be a pediatrician. She adores children and when it comes to surgery regarding kids, it's not surgery in minature.

These are tiny humans; tiny children. They believe in magic, and they play pretend, and they believe that there is fairy dust in their IV bags.

They hope and they cross their fingers and they make wishes and they are so beautifully innocent and there is something about them that

makes them more resilient than adults. They can recover faster and survive worse but most importantly they believe. There is such thing as

miracles and magic and when it comes to these small children; anything is possible. This is HyunJae's belief. She has a lot of faith when it

comes to these kids because their innocence reminds her of the good in the world that still exists. Their innocence warms her heart, always puts

a smile on her face and simply gives her hope for a brighter day.

• Drowning: She's never learned how to swim. She has an irrational fear of water. She can't go on boats, or rafts, or canoes, or
  
  even huge cruise ships because that's how scared of water she is. This is because when she was young, she had a near death
  
  experience when she drowned in the ocean. As a result, she hates swimming and big bodies of water.

special talents :  

• HyunJae can brew the best tea that you'll ever taste in your whole entire life.

trivia : 

• HyunJae takes a lot of pictures and videos because she lives with this unnatural fear that if her loved ones were to suddenly die;
  
  she'd begin to forget what they look and sound like. This is one of the main reasons why she's always taking pictures and
  
  recording videos. (Also to look back at them and smile.)
• HyunJae is allergic to alcohol (No drinking for her~)
• Her favourite colour is pink

• On HyunJae's wrist, she has a tattoo of the big dipper. (In the picture, the person is still recovering. Eventually, when the tattoo is

  Back in the day, people would use stars to guide them. Even though sometimes HyunJae is unsure of herself, whenever she
  
  looks down at her wrist she knows that as long as she does what she loves then she will end up where she needs to be.
  
  Furthermore, if she is feeling lost or confused, she can look at her wrist and just have a little bit of hope for where she is going.

history : HyunJae grew up in a very normal, and loving home. She was born into a family with two loving parents and a very over-protective

older brother. Then, two years later on October 14th, her younger brother was brought into the world. When she was 8 year old, her father put

her into piano lessons and then when she turned 14 - that's when her closest friend; JiSoo, taught her how to break dance. Unlike all the other

girls, HyunJae never left twenty seventh avenue and that's because her parents were content with where they were. They both had good paying

jobs that didn't require them to be on the move, and they were settled into a decent sized and cozy home.

When the girls left, that's when HyunJae really started to become close with JiSoo. Before, she only saw him as a close family / child hood friend

but when she was left behind, they started to hang out a lot more. This is why they are so close and how they gotten so close even though she

had the girls with her. Throughout middle school/ junior high - the only person HyunJae ever associated with was JiSoo. She lived a very lonely

life and didn't make any effort to make new friends because she missed her old ones too much. Even when the girls were gone, she was

constantly thinking about them and never really let go of the memories they've shared. 

family :

father : Lee TaeHyun / 52 / Computer Engineer / Alive / Lazy, smart, supportive, musical  / HyunJae plays the piano because her father

was the person who put her into it. He's a very musical person, and has a strong passion for music. He loves to sing and play the guitar

and all her aunts and uncles told her that he had a very promising career in music. However, he did not pursue it because he loved her

mother too much and quit for her. Other than that, he's very smart but at the same time he's very lazy. He's not very hard working

because a lot of things come easy to him. As a father, he is very supportive of whatever his children want to pursue. As long as they're

happy, than he's happy. 

mother : Lee SunYe / 50 / Accountant / Alive / Hardworking, caring, logical, bossy. / HyunJae is lucky because she has a fairly close

relationship with her mother. She can talk to her mom about a lot of her problems, and her mom willl always try to give her advice and

insight into her situation. Her mother is also very bossy and can sometimes be very strict - but that's only because she cares about her

children. And unlike every other Asian parent - she's fine with her children not being overachievers. She knows that you can work as hard

as you can and still not get results that you want. As long as her children work hard, she will always be supportive of them. 

sibling : Lee JaeHwa / 19 / Shoe store cashier / Alive / Lazy, laidback, friendly, outgoing / For siblings, HyunJae and JaeHwa rarely fight.

JaeHwa is the typical, over protective, older brother who will beat up any guy who hurts HyunJae. She knows that she can talk to him

about anything and trusts him with all her secrets. She cares a lot about him and will always bring him lunch when she has the chance.

Furthermore, since he is older he sees himself as wiser and tries to protect HyunJae from the cruelties of the world. He's always looking

out for her and wants nothing but the best for her. 

sibling : Lee JaeSun / 15 / Student / Alive / Weird, smart, introverted, caring / Like JaeHwa, JaeSun is the typical, annoying little brother.

He bothers HyunJae a lot, and loves to but he knows when to stop. If she's upset or angry, he'll leave her alone and offer to

get her something to eat or drink in order for her to calm down. Other than that, he's always bothering HyunJae to play video games

with him and help him with homework - which she is always willing to do. Just like JaeHwa, HyunJae cares a lot about her younger sibling

and wants nothing but the best for him.

Lee JiSoo / 18 / Dancer / Stubborn, reliable, trustworthy, easy-going / HyunJae and JiSoo go back. Far back. Way back. Basically to the

beginning of time. They have been friends since birth - with JiSoo being older than HyunJae by a few weeks. HyunJae's parents and

JiSoo's parents would always tell stories about how they would lay together in the hospital ward and just stare at each; even at such a

young age they knew that they were going to be friends. They've been with each other through everything; through diaper changes and

the first day of kindergarden all the way up to high school graduation and family deathes. To see the two not together would make it

obvious that something is wrong between the two; because they're practically always together. JiSoo is the one person that HyunJae can

trust with everything; even her life. He's always there for her, and she's always there for him. They support each other through their

dreams and keep pushing each other to achieve the best that they can. They can always rely on each other because they're always there

for each other; and no one can come between them. They know each other like the back of their hands; if one of them is upset, they'll

know. If something's bothering them, they'll know. They truly are, best friends.

O1. why can't you let go of 27th avenue? all the other girls did. :  It's simply just apart of who she is. She can't let go of the past because she's fearful of the future. She's scared that if she loses her friends, whom had made her life so much more interesting and memorable, then she won't be able to create unforgettable memories like that ever again. These were the girls she grew up; girls that have seen her cry, girls that know almost every single detail about her, girls who were there for her through the good times and bad. They've grown closer and closer and their bond is another thing that makes it difficult for her to let go.  Furthermore, she's very sentimental and feels nostalgia strongly - there's a weird emotional connection that she has to 27th avenue that she just can't let go of. The memories are so significant to her, she just can't let them go.

O2. what's your favorite memory of 27th avenue including all the girls?  : Of course, out of the plethora of memories she's shared with the girls, how can someone tell her to pick out just one? From many Christmas nights opening presents to summer days spent at the beach or having water balloon fights; there's just too many. Perhaps, HyunJae will always remember the days where the girls would tease (insert girl from plot 'one step behind') about her puppy love crush or cheering on (insert girl from plot 'dancing in the rain') during all her dance shows or competitions; every single laugh and inside joke counts. And there will always be a special place inside HyunJae's heart for nostalgic marshmellows around the firepit, surprise birthday parties for growing friends and the endless nights staying up late talking about boys during slumber parties. 

Sorry, I went on a bit of a tangent there. For HyunJae, if she had to choose one favourite memory it would be their last Summer together. They all knew that the time they had with each other was limited - so each person ensured to make that Summer count; and boy did they do. Late nights spent sitting around a campfire with s'mores and hot chocolate in their hands and endless Summer days spent at the beach and carnivals; their last Summer together was one to remember. But on their very last day together; that's probably HyunJae's favourite memory. After a long day of karaoking and enjoying a hot pot dinner, all the friends gathered in her backyard and laid on their backs together staring at the stars. They were reassured, knowing that they will always be under the same sky, looking at the same stars and moons no matter how far away from each other they are.
