APPEARANCE :
"Who is that girl?!" Every time you see HyunJae there's always something a little different about her. She's the kind of girl who dyes her hair every few weeks and is rocking a different hair style every day. Brown hair, black hair, auburn hair, red hair, blonde streaks, blue ends - the colour combinations are endless and she wants to try them all. Currently, her chocolate brown hair reaches just below her chest and it's going to stay that way for a long time. HunJae loves change, yes, but one time she tried short hair and she absolutely hated it. And besides, with long hair she can style it in a plethora of ways. Pony tail, pig tails, braids, twin buns, a single bun, curly hair, wavy hair, straight hair - the possibilities are endless and so HyunJae has decided that having long hair was the best option for her adventurous soul. She also has bangs which she is attempting to grow out.
"Oh, it's just HyunJae." Other than that there are a few constants to HyunJae. For example, she stands at 164cm and there is little hope left for her to grow any taller. She weighs 45kg (even though she eats a lot, her fast metabolism keeps her thin) and is pretty much skinny throughout her whole entire body. It's important to note though, that she gains weight first in her stomach (which explains why she doesn't usually wear crop tops). She has pouty lips, big brown eyes and usually has a nice rosy glow to her cheeks. You'll always see her with at least a tiny smile on her face, that is, whenever she's not grinning like an idiot all the time. And whenever she walks (which is rarely, because she literally skips down the streets to her destination) there's always a little bounce to her step with her arms swinging back and forth.
STYLE : HyunJae, like her personality, is into all kinds of fashion styles. Really, she's just trying to find the one that suits her best. One day, she may be dressed up really girly in a high waisted skirt and a peter pan collared blouse and then the next you'll see her in an obey sweater and a baseball cap and then the next you'll see her wearing a plain grid dress. She really likes all clothing styles ranging from feminine to androgynous. Some key styles, brands or fashionistas to consider are: Tumblr aesthetics, minimalism, Jenn Im, Fernanda Ly, floral and grid prints, the androgynous appeal, platform shoes, Nike, Adidas, edgy, chic, cute, pastels, cut outs, Zaras, Top Shop, Stylenada, etc...
I think the best way to try and describe her style is to have some pictures, so here are lots! (lmao sorry I love fashion and clothes so excuse me if I went a little too crazy/ if it looks a bit slo.)

PERSONALITY :
"Guys... today we're going to learn how to tap dance!" — There is not one thing that HyunJae hasn't done yet. You name it, she's done it. From something as gross as eating chocolate covered crickets to something less disgusting like learning how to play Mah Jong, HyunJae is very open-minded and is down to try new things. She's the type of person who gets bored easily so she always wants to try something new and because of this, she has acquired a bucket load of useless skills and hobbies. You want to know how to tie knots? HyunJae knows how to tie (almost) all kinds of knots. You've been horse back riding? HyunJae has too! You don't know what kind of fish that is? It's a sea bass, trust me, HyunJae said so and HyunJae would know. She's adventurous, brave and daring. She's the kind of person who wakes you up at 2 in the morning to drag into her car and then drives you off into the part of town you've never been to before. (YooJung, unfortunately, being one of those people.) Worst is, sometimes she'll drive you out of town so she can go lay in some random field to stare at the stars. She's not afraid of failure which explains why she's not afraid of trying out different activities. Even if she doesn't suceed at first, she'll keep going at it until she gets the hang of it. And then she'll eventually drop it to try something new. She also loves to learn. You can basically consider her a walking book of useless facts. During down time, HyunJae is always researching new topics or issues in the world. Try something new, learn something new, do something new - that's essentially HyunJae for you in a nut shell.
"I love my life!" - When you look at HyunJae, you can tell she's an extremely happy person who loves to live. She just loves life. Dancing in the rain, making flower crowns, creating snow angels, jumping into a pile of leaves - she's just a person who takes every opportunity and tries to make the best out of it. One look and you just know she's enjoying life. She always seems so bubbly and cheerful and just happy - sometimes too happy. Sometimes she can be so obnoxiously happy that it pisses you off because how can a person be so, well, happy? Furthermore, HyunJae is a very strange person. (Probably why she and YooJung get along so well. They click sometimes because of their weird-ness). It's like she has a different set of social skills that are unlike anyone elses. For example, if she hasn't seen a good friend in a long time, her hugs are like full on body slams and she will pepper your face with kisses and wrap her legs around you like a koala bear who never wants to let you go. Another example; when she rings the door bell, instead of standing back and away from the door like a normal person, she stands so close to the door that her nose almost touches it. She's so weird you struggle to understand what's going through her head. Her mind is wildly unpredictable and she is a hard person to read.
"I don't know what to do with my life but let's get fish tacos!" - Impulsive and indecisive may seem like two, very contradicting traits, but let me explain. HyunJae is not the type of person to think. When she sets her mind on something, she will do it and she will keep doing it until she gets it right. Sometimes she does this at the expense to other people, sometimes she does this when it's inconvenient and sometimes she does it even when it'll end up hurting her. Once she's made up her mind, she will do it and that's that. You cannot sway her in a different direction (or at least, it's very difficult to). Her impulsive decision making plus her stubborn attitude have resulted in HyunJae unintentionally hurting others and even hurting herself. Sometimes she won't eat, sleep or hydrate herself just so she can prove herself or accomplish whatever it is she's trying to do. Now, her indecisiveness stems from the fact that she finds great difficulty making decisions that really matter. "What do you want to be when you grow up?" "What University/College do you want to go to?" "What are you going to do with her life?" These kinds of questions scare HyunJae and she tries her best to avoid them. She's just graduated, and now she has to accept what program and University to go to but she just doesn't know what to choose. When it comes to small, miniscule things like where to eat or what to do, she'll impulsively say, "let's get Indian food!" but in the grand scheme of things - she has no idea what she's doing. Maybe because of her lack of ability to think her decisions through has made it so that she can't actually think about decisions any more.
BACKGROUND : HyunJae has essentially felt as if she's been stuck on the island her whole life. Well, which she has been, but she literally feels stuck. Maybe that's where her adventurous spirit came from. The fact that it was always the same people, the same restaurants, the same everything - it made her want to add excitement into her life. That's probably what began her streak of trying everything. (And sometimes dragging YooJung with her because YooJung has the same amount of energy that matches HyunJae.)
Other than that, HyunJae came from a pretty well off and loving family and lived a fairly normal childhood. Whenever they could, her parents would take HyunJae and her older brother - JaeHwa - to different parts of Asia and she loved it. This probably also contributed to her adventurous soul. Seeing all the new places and all the new people made her realize how boring Papen Island was. However, since she couldn't just up and leave the place, she decided to try and find the beauty and excitement in Papen Island. Hence, why she is always exploring the place and trying something new.
*Even though HyunJae is attempting to find the beauty in Papen Island, she knows she doesn't want to stay there. That is why she applied to every University on every other country besides her own. She sent out her application to several international university's in Korea, Japan, China, Vietnam, Thailand and Hong Kong just so she won't be stuck on Papen Island. She didn't even bother to apply to the University there because she knew she wasn't going to stay. Even if every University declined her, she would find a way to get off that island.
TRIVIA :
— "Swimming? No thanks." / Considering the story takes place on an island, it's important to note that HyunJae cannot swim. She likes standing in shallow waters but she cannot swim for the life of her. She will drown if she cannot touch the ground.
— "I love you but I'm tired of lacrosse." / Important to note, HyunJae only gets bored of activities and hobbies easily. Not people. HyunJae really cherishes her friends and family.
— "MY ANACONDA DON'T- like country music." / HyunJae loves every genre of music except for country. Also, she loves Nicki Minaj. She knows every Nicki Minaj rap by heart.
— "WAIT DON'T EAT YET... I need to take a picture." / HyunJae loves taking pictures and capturing every single moment. She loves polaroid cameras and taking group photos and capturing the image of the sky. She'll take a photo of anything - even the ground if she thinks it looks nice. She also loves photo aesthetics. She's that person who makes you wait to eat so she can take a picture of the food from a bird's eye view.
— "About Time." / If you ever watched the movie About Time, HyunJae's character is kind of like Katherine (otherwise known as Kit Kat in the movie). Except she doesn't have a drinking problem and doesn't get caught up with sleazy guys.
LIFESTYLE : HyunJae has just graduated from high school and whenever she's not stressing about what University and program she should go to and study (from the small bundle of acceptance letters she has received) she's hitting up every single restaurant in town. (As mentioned, earlier.) Every day after work she goes to the same restaurant, and orders an item off the menu in the order its place is on the menu. Once she's tried everything on the menu of one restaurant, she moves on to the next. If she does try something she really likes, she'll come back every now and then. But other than that, you'll only see HyunJae in your restaurant again when you've introduced a new menu item.
Oh, it's also important to mention that HyunJae currently works two part time jobs. (They're practically a full time job when you put the hours together.) On weekends, she's serving pies at the Pie-Hole (but trying her best to avoid serving Aera because her grumpiness scares HyunJae) and on week days, she's arranging flowers at the local floral shop. (Although, considering her long list of work experience and her tendency to get bored of daily routine-ly things - HyunJae will probably quit within a few months and move on to another job!) She's a firm believer of trying something new every day - be it big or small. It can be as small as admiring the flowers on someone's front lawn or as big as driving to the middle of nowhere to star gaze; every day is something new with HyunJae.

HyunJae's dad adores her very much. Even though HyunJae doesn't know what she wants to do with her life, she still tries in school for her dad and still has acceptance letters waiting for a reply so for now, he is proud of her. He's very laid back because he thinks HyunJae is generally a very responsible person *(he doesn't really know about her stubborn tendencies and the fact that she sneaks out a lot at night to go star gazing. When she sneaks out, she tries not to wander too far. And besides, the car she uses is parked in the garage so it would be hard to take the car out at night to sneak around. But if she's planned it, she'll make sure to ask for his permission first).

*HyunJae's mom is a very hard working person. She's not smart so she has to study hard in order to understand things - a mind set she has instilled in HyunJae. Her cooking, although unknown to most of the residents of Coeur d'Coeurs, is probably one of the best ever in town. Her food is heavenly and HyunJae eats well every day because of her. She's laidback like HyunJae's father, but always reminds HyunJae to clean up her room and the house. *Important to note, HyunJae and her mom share a car. Her father loves her mother very much and so he always drives her mom around. Therefore, SunYe's car is pretty much HyunJae's own. (Just not 100% hers because on rare occassions, her mom still drives it. But her dad drives her mom around 99% of the time. To work, to the grocery store, to the beach, wherever and whenever.)

"Lee HyunJae is possibly the best thing to ever happen to me."
JaeHwa, to HyunJae, holds the title of the best older brother ever. They've grown up with the same friends and always hung out with each other, therefore, they have a really strong relationship. They rarely ever bicker because they get along so well. JaeHwa's very hardworking, and whenever his sister needs him he's always there. A person to vent to? He's all ears. Car broke on the way home? He'll pick her up. She's low on cash? He doesn't even expect her to pay him back. HyunJae is JaeHwa's treasure and she is very important to him. They both cherish each other very much.

FOR EMPLOYEES - WHY DID YOU DECIDE TO WORK AT THE PIE HOLE? : HyunJae made the decision to work at the Pie Hole by dividing a dart board into 8 pieces and then placing 8 different locations in which she hadn't worked yet onto the board (considering the fact that she has almost worked everywhere, she was running out of options.) She then hung up the board, took 3 steps back, spun around in 5 circles, closed her eyes, and threw a dart at the board. It landed right on the line between the floral shop and the Piehole (hence why she works both jobs.)
But of course, she didn't tell the manager that.
Instead, she told the manager that she had worked a plethora of jobs before (a cashier at the grocery store, an icecream server at the icecream parlor, a tutor during the school year, a burger flipper at McDonalds, and well, the list goes on) but surprisingly, she was never a server before. She always prepared food but she never served food and thus, she wanted to try her hand at serving. She felt it would best help her to grow and to acquire new skills.
We all know that's all just a bunch of bs though.

I hope my face claim choice is alright! I tried to pick an ulzzang that was somewhat popular so finding HQ photos would be easy. ALSO, I don't really like using Kpop idols for face claims for some reason hehe ^ ^"
Also, I realized that the love interest part of my application is very cliche lmaooooo

BUT if she doesn't, then like, you can have this cheesy line where YiXing tells her they'll always be under the same sky.
