• haeyi (family) there's not particularly a special reason for this nickname, it was a sort of endearing way to refer to her and it's mostly used by her family. they just took the last character of her name and added yi (이) at the end of it.
• xdog00x (siblings) inhae had made an irreparably horrible mistake in the past as she showed some of her siblings small drabbles of her writing, and the very first thing they did was look at her username, and then use it against her, even years after she stopped using that account. it's more embarrassing whenever they visit the account again to about her past writing attempts. now, she just uses an account called 'inthehae', but luckily, none of her siblings know the name to it.

ever since she was young, inhae had always been the creative type. from scribbling on her family's important papers (such as their homework, faxed papers, etc.) to crafting blobs with clay, it seemed like she never ran out of creativity. her life had been molded by that sense of creativity. even currently, it seemed like she constantly came out with bright ideas, even if they seem messy or stupid in the beginning. her mind is always working and thinking of new ideas. inhae is also the affectionate type when it comes to people she's familiar with. in her family, she's mostly affectionate with the younger ones, since they're around her age, and are more comfortable with her. she'll often put more food on their plates, invade their rooms to annoy them, or ruffle their hair endearingly. she's especially shy with strangers but sweet to family, and even though some may be annoyed by it, it doesn't mean she'll stop. in fact, she'll just be even more affectionate towards them because that's how she shows her love. inhae is also quite kind. her demeanor is more gentle than anything else, and tends to care a lot more than necessary. if someone she cares about is in need of help, she'd come to help, even if she isn't good at what needs to be fixed. math homework? she could try. giving her youngest sibling her favorite part of a meal? sure, even though she likes it. inhae is one to do anything for her siblings - anything.
despite all the nice things about her, inhae still has her flaws and they seem to co-exist with her brightest personality traits. she's incredibly sensitive, even though at times, she'll act like she isn't. the truth is, sometimes it does get to her when her siblings a bit too much or lash out at her because of some random thing. it hurts her whenever she sees even the tiniest of criticism against her, and while she tries to not make it known that she's so sensitive, people see through her act anyway. inhae is also incredibly shy and hates being the one to interact with new people. she's always been sheltered her entire life, and because she had so many siblings, she never really was alone and thus, never needed to meet others alone. despite being the daughter of a popular restaurant chain, inhae hated taking orders and would visibly balk up when she was assigned the role. she'd sometimes stutter over her words (especially when it came to service cute boys), but more often than not, there would be awkward conversation and inhae would feel absolutely miserable. she is also more dependent on others than not. it probably ties in most with the fact that she's from a big family, so there's always someone to help her or will be around her. she can't stand the idea of being alone and more than anything, she hates being the one to have to 'pave her way.' she would much rather prefer someone teaching her, so she won't mess up, but inhae sometimes feels fearful that others will leave her, so she tends to remain on the dependent side until it gets too annoying to bear. she's definitely mostly dependent on her family, but that's a given. afterall, she followed her family to nasan, since she didn't want to be alone.
Background: inhae was born in the middle of 2000 and is one of the youngest out of all her siblings. she lived in pure chaos with her siblings, and since there were so many of them, it was a challenge for the house to be quiet during waking hours. despite that, inhae cherished her siblings and had lots of fun. from playing tea time with her older siblings to growing up and downright annoying her younger ones, there's always been lots of interactions with her and her family. after all, there's no such thing as peace and quiet with them. because their parents aren't around that much and because inhae doesn't really interact with kids outside of her family, she grew up to be quite shy and reserved, but is most comfortable around her gremlin siblings.
inhae had always been interested in dabbling in the arts one way or another, and would be the annoying one that would ask their sibling to sit still for hours, while she produced the ugliest drawing of them ever. five year old inhae would be pretty impressed though. she also discovered the world of fanfiction, based off a romance series that she was obsessed with at the time, and created her own account (as all her siblings know as xdog00x), and began to write about her own character: a bold, outgoing girl with lots of friends and talent, and a very hot significant other waiting for her at the end of it. perhaps it was a way for inhae to project her innermost desires, but at that age... there was a lot to unpack in terms of writing ability.
since then, inhae had been increasingly more and more interested in writing. she would stay up until the wee hours of the morning some nights, just to furiously type on her laptop and add the newest installment of her writing. thankfully, as she grew up, she began to shift her focus from fanfiction to writing completely original content, and every time her siblings bring up her fanfictions, inhae feels a part of her die inside. despite that, she definitely does have a strong interest in literature, something she feels she's always been decent at. thus, inhae decided to take the plunge and apply to seoul national university for creative writing. though her siblings for only applying to one school - and one of the hardest to get into - inhae had faith in her writing (and she didn't want to embarrass herself). luckily, she got in but it was only the beginning of her new chapter.
creative writing students at snu were of a different talent than her and possessed skills that inhae felt she didn't have. why did she get accepted? her writing could never compare to the things she saw from her peers. for the first time in her life, young inhae - the young inhae who loved to write and would write at least every week - had developed a form of writer's block. she was a huge romance buff and centered a lot of her writing on that, while her peers actually had well-rounded ideas and shifted genres frequently, showing an immesnse amount of depth. while inhae manages to write meaningless drabbles and finishes her assignments on time, she doesn't know what to do with her growing insecurities with her peers nor does she know what to do with her ever consuming writer's block. it feels as if she's hit a dead end.
Lifestyle: while inhae mostly followed her siblings to nasan because she didn't want to be in seoul all by herself, she subconsciously also feels like a change of scenery may help her out with her writer's block. perhaps the bustle of the city was too much, and she needed some other calm options for her? she wasn't particularly sure and didn't even know if it'd work in curing out her writer's block, but she definitely knew she needed some personal growth time and what better than a place with live animals and fresh air? so she brought her laptop and a notebook to jot down some ideas, and there she went to nasan with her siblings.
inhae mostly tries to spend her time away from other people, and whenever she's helping out at the restaurant, she often groans about serving others, and will try to weasel her way out of it. after all, she's best just doing the administrative work, or so she tries to say. her siblings are a bit more nosey and rowdy though, so they of course have to force her to try to serve the cute guys that look to be around her age and because inhae does have a pretty appearance, they also try to get her to secure more tips, much to her chagrin.
despite seemingly being cooped up in the restaurant for most of her day, inhae likes to slip out at times and sit outside, trying to brainstorm new ideas and such. she tends to keep up the same routine, so she isn't too comfortable with venturing out, unless if one of her other siblings drag her out, but most of her time is spent at the restaurant, her room, or outside.
inhae does feel like she's meant to be a city girl through and through, but there's just a vibe that she gets out in nasan that makes her feel at home.

Appearance: soft black locks and a set of chocolate eyes to match, inhae has always been known to be quite a beauty. she stands at 164 cm, so she isn't very tall, but it makes her much more cute as she can't help but give a shy smile to everyone that passes by. inhae isn't a girl of many words, so when people meet her, they are greeted by lush, pale skin that shows a rosy blush across her cheeks, and a pair of pink lips to complete it. her bright eyes are always so wide, but it doesn't detract from her appearance overall. she tends to put on a small amount of makeup, only focusing on her eyebrows, eyes, and lips, leaving the rest untouched. despite that, her innocent looks are something that is able to draw others towards her.
Style: inhae likes to dress casually in the event she isn't in her uniform for school. she tends to prefer neutrals a lot more, and her closet is filled with white, black, and beige. she is pretty simple, since frankly, she doesn't go out much, but inhae does have a nice fashion style - albeit on the plain side of the scale. she tends to wear a lot of blouses and pants, rather than jeans or tees, and is ultimately more concerned about her comfort rather than looking a certain way. she also tends to like wearing hats, especially berets because she thinks they're an essential asset to her aesthetic, but a simple cap will do as well.

meet inhae's eldest brother: he's the one that understands nasan the best out of all the siblings and is the one that's taken the most care out of all of them, since their parents are living their lives in different countries, seeing what the world has to offer. inhae and insoo aren't particularly the closest to each other because of the and because he's so busy, but inhae definitely respects him and is always in awe at how hardworking he is.

meet inhae's second eldest brother: he's the one that underestands nasan second best out of all the siblings, yet isn't entirely that close to inhae the way insoo was. perhaps it was because insoo had spoiled all of them, but it doesn't mean that huisoo isn't there for inhae ever. the clever man shared her creativity and professional interest in creative writing, and while others might've not noticed, huisoo seems to understand his sister's struggles.

it's fitting that sanha is quite the outgoing person as he just exudes boyish, puppy-like charms. he has been open with others ever since he was a young boy, and has never felt fear when dealing with others. at the park, he'd happily go up to a lone kid drawing in the sand and ask to play; at school, he'd cheerfully go up to the quiet person and ask to sit next to them. he's quite confident in his social skills and you see it every time he's introduced to someone new. sanha is also quite playful and likes to play pranks on others, most notably his friends and siblings. they're usually a harmless thing, but they're funny to him, and it's often something that cheers up his peers as well. whenever he's talking as well, he likes to have a sort of playful banter with others, which should not be taken seriously by anyone at all, but in his perspective, it's just a lot of fun to take life easily and to play around a bit. sanha is also incredibly energetic and it's as if he charges his energy at night, just to wake up and brighten up rooms. he definitely is one of those people that have a large bundle of energy and is sure to excite others, but it's just how he is, regardless of how little he may have slept the night before or how sad he may be. sanha is just a bundle of energy.

Background: sanha was actually born in nasan, but eventually, his family moved to seoul only a few months after he was born since it presented much more opportunity. despite having a comfy home and extended family, his parents decided it would be best to take their three kids to where it would benefit them in the future, and thus letting sanha grow up to be a city boy. despite that, the yoon family visits nasan every summer because it is important to sanha's parents that they don't forget about their roots. even now, as sanha has grown up to be a 20 year old man, it's just more of a tradition at this point. despite that, it doesn't mean that he hates coming back home.
Initial Meeting: sanha and inhae first met each other at young nasan, mostly due to inhae's nosy siblings trying to get her to talk to him, since he was definitely inhae's idea of a soft boy, and she admittedly loved soft boys. while her sibling had tried to get her to serve other cute guys, inhae would adamantly try to weasel her way out of it, and most of the time, she would actually find her way out of it, by saying that the chef needed her help more or that she had to help wash dishes, since there were so many, but when sanha came in, there happened to be enough help from all of her siblings that inhae was forced to serve sanha (much to her chagrin). it was a busy night, which made her even more nervous, and when she had walked up to sanha, she couldn't help but stutter slightly, fear definitely showing on her face. even though sanha noticed it and thought it was odd, he let it slide and let inhae take his order. for the rest of the dinner, sanha was served by another waiter, since inhae was too embarrassed to come back and help him, but there was no helping that the both of them seemed to be interested in one another, even if only just a little bit.
Love Story: because sanha was partly curious in regards to his mysteriously shy waiter, he made another trip to young nasan to specifically ask if she was working and if she could serve him. that alone shocked inhae tremendously. the guy she thought was cute wanted her to serve him? truly surprising to say the least. inhae tried to weasel her way out of it again, attempting to convince her sibling to say that she wasn't home and that she couldn't serve him, but of course, the young siblings weren't that nice. they forced her to go downstairs because "come on, that guy is nicely asking for you" and quickly sent her off to him. she shyly welcomed him in, barely managing to hold in her choke, and he smiled warmly back at her, introducing himself.
"hi i'm yoon sanha, it's nice to meet you!"
inhae stared back at him in confusion, clearly not expecting that. "hi...? i'm young inhae...?"
while he came with the intention of asking her to serve him initially, he impulsively decided to ask her to sit and have a meal with him. inhae was a mess at this point, internally. she was losing her mind and didn't know what to say, stumbling on her words. she couldn't bear to sit at a table with him and have a conversation with him - she did not even know the guy! despite that, her siblings once again nudged her towards a table and were mischievously playing along with sanha's desires, much to inhae's disdain. sanha and inhae tried to have a conversation, but it was awkward at best, due to inhae's natural timidness. however, sanha found it even more interesting and even though she seemed plain as day, there was a way that she carried herself that sanha was intrigued with and not to mention, she was pretty cute too, so he took it upon himself to sort of shoot his shot for a summer fling. inhae is definitely more of a conservative type when it comes to romance, so even the idea of a summer fling was a no to her. after all, that is so not romantic! plus, inhae had never really interacted with a boy in a romantic sense, so she had no idea what to do. real life is definitely way different from fiction, and inhae is not the best with navigating through reality.
despite that, sanha was pretty interested in her, and would come to young nasan as an excuse to see her. even though she hated having to come serve someone, sanha would always talk to her animatedly, as if he had so many new things to talk about everyday. for inhae, her days were all the same, so hearing about sanha chatter on and on about different things was somehow fresh to her. admittedly, she did think he was nice and that he was enjoyable to be around, but inhae is a timid girl and could not find it within her to be open with him, even though he was so open with her. after observing her behavior and getting a bit closer to her, sanha would just meet her at the restaurant and drag her out, even if it was a brief encounter. he'd bring her to get ice cream or to stargaze at night, and he would talk to her about anything and everything. most times, she would try to refuse because she would want to stay home, but per usual, the young siblings like to meddle and meddle in inhae's love life they have. most times, they would have surface level conversation, but sanha would sometimes bring up deeper topics too, if the mood was right. he'd ask about her dreams and aspirations and little things that weren't as superficial as the things he would say during the day. inhae came to realize that he was much more sensitive than she had thought, and he definitely had more depth to him as well. even though they started on perhaps the wrong foot, inhae could see that he was a person with a lot of thoughts that wanted to be shared, so even though she wasn't too good with people outside of her family, she decided to open up to him, just slightly. out of their conversations, they found out that they attended the same university with sanha being a public heath major, and that they even lived decently close to each other. to inhae, she wondered if a summer fling could be a potential relationship type of thing - but she was not trying to get too jaded.
the two are relatively comfortable with the other and while sanha is definitely more open about his emotions, inhae does share little tidbits about her that she doesn't like sharing with others, like her insecurities about writing and such. the two of them share a lot of time together when inhae isn't working at the restaurant or writing, and do simple things, but inhae has fun. for once, inhae feels like she has someone to rely on outside of her family and that she has someone to be open to. shy inhae hadn't ever felt this before.
Interactions: inhae is the insecure type, always in need of some reassurance. luckily, sanha is a comforting type, always ready to take care of the people he worries about, and inhae is someone he tends to worry about. there's just something pulling him towards her, but he can't particularly put his finger on it. she is someone with depth to her, and sanha is quite interested in it. there's a way that she carries herself that captivates him, and makes him want to take care of her. sanha tends to be the one to take her out and to make plans for them to do most times, since he knows that inhae is more of a homebody and will try to stay home as much as possible. he prefers to do simplistic 'summer-like' activities, so they spend their time outdoors a lot, and he's always trying to get her to try something new. inhae prefers to have strawberry ice cream, but sanha suggests the sesame ice cream because it's something she has never had; inhae doesn't like hiking, but he says they should just try it at least once and at a time where it isn't so hot; and more. he's always trying to get her to experience something new and to get her to get out of her shell, something inhae was unaccustomed to. even though inhae's siblings will do unnecessary things like pushing her to hang out with sanha or pushing her to try and serve customers, they baby her, and do not particularly force her enough to get out of her shell. they share a lot of experiences together, which is something simplistic but good for inhae, and they also share a lot of introspective words as well.
sanha has a funny way of getting inhae's purest feelings to come out, and it may be because of the fact that they weren't related to each other and because he's so open with her, but inhae is a bit more comfortable talking to him with time. in nights of deep thoughts and emotions, inhae will even reach out to him through text about small things that consume her mind, and sanha will do the same with her, though these moments are a bit rare and don't come often, but they do come, and it's an improvement from inhae only talking to her family. although their relationship or their friendship, whatever their label may be, is plain and not as exciting as some others, inhae finds him as her comfort and sees him as someone she can confide in. he is also someone that she admires and while inhae initially thought that she would have an explosive, dramatic lovelife where she'd constantly feel sparks, she definitely does admit to liking this slow burn sort of love she is growing for sanha. it's like a plant that's starting to blossom.
INTERVIEW
WHO WOULD YOU PREFER TO ROOM WITH? inhae blinked, pausing to think about which sibling she would assume to be the best choice. "well... to be honest i'd be fine with anyone, but i do prefer rooming with my sisters more," she concluded. "at this age, i do not think i'd be comfortable at all with any of my brothers, and even though i love them, i wouldn't take it very well. i also would like to room with someone clean and someone who doesn't stay up until five in the morning because i like to sleep at midnight and wake up decently early. also, i would like someone who wouldn't mind me typing all the time. is that a lot to ask for?" she seemed quite timid as she asked her last question.
HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT SPENDING YOUR SUMMER AT NASAN? "to be honest, this is my first time in nasan, so i think being nervous is normal... and of course i don't have any experience being in a town like this, so dealing with critters is going to be a surprise for me, but i do have siblings who are used to it or aren't scared. maybe i should actually room with them?" inhae rambled, trying to come up with a proper answer as to how she feels. "overall, i do think this would be a fun experience and i would get to know my roots and my family's roots, plus i'm not alone so hopefully it'll be as good as i expect. maybe i'lll write a book out of this."
WHAT WOULD YOUR ROLE BE AT THE RESTAURANT? "well, because i don't particularly enjoy talking a lot around strangers, i would be more comfortable in the back of the house. i think i would probably be best washing the dishes and helping out here and there whenever someone needs help... doing big things stresses me out, i worry that i wouldn't be good at it and i would ruin everything," inhae admitted shyly. "but i mean, i'm there to help everyone, so hopefully they rely on me."
WHY IS INSOO OPPA YOUR FAVORITE SIBLING? inhae thought silently to herself first, before opening . "well, it's because you work so hard to take care of us, no? even though you have much more responsibilities and started differently than us, you take care of all of us. i don't know what nasan is like, but there's always that twinkle in your eyes when it is brought up, so i think that this is a special place to you, though i also do think you are a person that is precious to all of us too."
