BACKGROUND : goo rani was born in the heart of seoul, near myeongdong, where food was abundant at all hours. it hosted hoards of crowds coming for street food and restaurants, and tucked in a little corner happened to be the goo's very own pureuda bbq, a kbbq place that was unassuming, but popular. it was owned by her parents, and they happened to have it for about two years before lida came around. ever since she was young, she would be obediently sitting at the counter, greeting customers with her parents as they walked in, and the bustle of activity left her with awe. she watched as different groups of people shared a grill and some soju, chatting about the recent events in their lives or about their new adventures, and rani was hooked. everyday was so much fun, and she wanted to live that way forever. 

as she grew up, she came to help the restaurant more and more. of course, things weren't ever perfect, and rani would find herself dramatically locking herself in her room after having a fight with her parents about something dumb (but to be fair, looking back on it, puberty was a dumb time for her). despite all shortcomings, she did love the restaurant quite dearly and spent a good chunk of her life maintaining it. when she was younger, all she could really do was wipe down some tables and greet some customers, and perhaps help out with closing activities, but when she was old enough to be considered for a job, she immediately became a waitress at pureuda. it would seem like a chore to some, but rani liked it enough to be there everyday and to deal with customers. the regulars were especially her favorites, as they would tip her a little bit more than the rest, but in the end, everyone was the same to her. they all liked kbbq!

however, as rani started working there, she did begin to notice the difference in activity, compared to when she was a child. it wasn't quite as busy as it used to be, but it was still a good amount of business coming in and out. however, the number dwindled by the months, and by the time she had first seen construction starting for chingu bbq, the restaurant lacked its previous luster. it was a slight concern for her, but denial was one of her best friends. now, she's desperate to do anything to save the restaurant.

what is your ideal type like? : 

— "my ideal type?" rani repeated with doe-like eyes. "erm, this is kind of hard to answer, i don't particularly have a certain type... i think the boys i've crushed on before were mostly pretty different from each other... but i guess i would like my ideal type to be someone supportive and will help guide me along the way." she nodded, pausing for a moment. she searched her brain for anything else she wanted to say, and blinked in realization. "ah! they also have to like kbbq!"

why did you start liking na jaemin? : 

— "well, i don't know where you got that preposterous idea from," rani pretended to gag at the sound of his name, "he's just that dork that works at chingu and yeah, he's good looking, but he's also public offender #1. i'll destroy him for disrespecting my family restaurant!" 

so why did you want to work for pureuda? : 

— "it's my family's shop! i feel a sort of obligation," rani explained. "of course, it's really fun here though. i hope i can share the memories with others! please apply!"

how do you feel about chingu barbeque? : 

— rani grimaced, her face darkening quickly. "chingu... what a load of bull! if they were such chingus, then it wouldn't have even opened so close to my family's shop! it makes me think about whether or not there is someone out for us, kind of like itaewon class? have you ever watched that drama? no...? okay i'll stop talking about it, but i will never stop talking about how much i don't like chingu bbq." 

anything else you want to tell me? : 

— "nope nope! nothing else," rani beamed, flashing her best customer service smile. "come visit pureuda bbq!"
