anan the nickname was inspired by his real name. not sure who thought of it but one of an's childhood friends surely did as this group would be the only people who call him anan.

physique

he's a giant among the high school kids, standing tall at 187cm and is always towering over other people. just by the look of his well-built body, many can tell that ann works out or just simply plays sports a lot. broad shoulders, visible arm veins, athletic looks, muscle-bound but not too bulky. looks like he could punch the out of someone.

piercings/tattoos 

has four piercings on his left ear, got them during his first year of high school without telling anyone until they just eventually noticed how outstanding those cross-shaped earrings are. ann has a tattoo of tomie kawakami on his right shoulder. no specific reason, just really loves this character.

standoffish.

even to the childhood friends, ann's presence is still a huge question mark but unlike most people, they are used to his quietness. a man of few words, only speaks if he's interested in the topic or if he knows something about it ( would throw random insults at people when they expect them the least, too ), ann generally prefers silence and uses that as his reply to every question most of the time. the male dislikes having conversation with almost everyone besides his family or friends, he just finds the friendly act tiring and worthless so he tends to push everyone away from him, not even afraid to tell him how pointless he finds their effort in trying to befriend him is. he doesn't need more friends, just the ones right now are perfect enough.

blunt.

though he's quiet but ann is always straight to the point about his feelings and thoughts without afraid of being hated or picked on for having different opinions. ann would much prefer to know everyone's honest feelings so he's always the one to speak frankly first. ann values the truth even if it's painful sometimes, he doesn't have time for liars and nice words or whatsoever. many hate the male for how straight-forward he is, ann could hurt people with such savage choice of words if he's being too honest. if you're looking for sympathy or someone to cure your sadness, don't pick this statue as a shoulder to cry on. he looks at things rather realisticly and based on that, he will decide for himself whether you deserve to be loved or not. heartless ann.

aggressive.

only because he stays silent doesn't mean that the male is calm and collected. ann, not so surprisingly, is quick to lose his temper if provoked and has a tendency of using violence to solve everything if his mean words and cruel insults aren't enough to ease the anger. what he does, he's going to grab you by your collar and threaten you. if you think you can get away then you're right, you can but if you insist on picking a fight with him then get ready to taste your own blood and flesh because ann will fight until one of you can't stand up anymore. ( but he lets his childhood friends pick on him, if he threatens he means fun ) 

reckless.

aggressiveness always comes along with recklessness so ann isn't the type to think about consequences. he isn't afraid, he doesn't think, he doesn't care. this leads to a series of unfortunate events and stupid decisions so one wouldn't consider ann a smart dude. usually, you spot a quiet man you begin to assume that he's secretly intelligent as he's observing his surroundings and learning the details but ann is really a dummy. he does what his heart wants him to do, he relies on his instincts to deal with troubles but he doesn't know that his heart is strongly driven by the most bravely stupid thoughts ever.

protective.

if someone earns a place in ann's heart then bless them because he's going to be their knight in shining armor until the last of his breath. ann cherishes his close ones and he wants what is best for them, all the time. he might act like an or not but if he makes an oath to keep you safe then he'll keep it. very protective of the friends like a scary mama bear protecting her cubes so if someone's bullying you, he will bully the out of that kid even if it means he's getting a detention afterwards. he would go as far as sacrificing himself if it's needed, those bravely stupid thoughts.

what is their role in the friend group?

the one that does the dirty work of a plan and handles all the dangerous stuffs. plays the role of a tanker/shield for his friend, also the fighter. the fearless one, plus he's very protective of his friends so ann always stays on the front line. might start a fight with how honest he is.

what kinds of texts do they send in the groupchat?

though ann doesn't talk much but he's the type that is way more talkative when it comes to his online persona. always types in lowercase, doesn't use proper punctuation so sometimes it's quite confusing to read his texts. uses a lot of emojis that show how annoyed he feels.  

childhood.

kim ann lives with his grandparents and a little sister that he loves wholeheartedly. their family is poor with low income so his parents moved to the daegu ten years ago, working different jobs since the city pays them more than this town does and sends the money back to their family back home. 

because their parents left when his sister, ahan, who's our years younger than him was still so little, ann has always been the one that takes care of her the most as well as helping around the house, looking after both grandparents. his grandma bakes cakes to earn extra money and he works as her shipper.

he has a close relationship with his family members but has the strongest bond with his sister. she's a sweet and caring girl who loves to restyle ann's hair every time they have some time to spare. his grandmother is kind like his sister while ann's grandfather acts just like him but a lot more nicer. as for his parents, mom is a strict yet responsible woman while dad's literally a ray of sunshine.

unfortunately, a year ago, his father got into a car accident and has gotten much weaker than before so he will be returning back to their little town by the end of this summer, leaving their mother alone in the city. 

high school life.

while kim ann's grades aren't the lowest in his class, it's a truth that he doesn't do well in class and has troubles with most subjects. this is mainly due to the fact that he skips classes as a hobby and doesn't study at night when he has to work part-time at a local hardware store ( his boss is a fifty years old man but acts more like a child than ann; the man is named song seungui, very supportive and optimistic, loves to crack jokes and acts like a father figure to ann ). ann's teachers always talk to him privately about how much they are concerned for his future though ann always ignores their advice. 

ann isn't a bully but he's known for being the scariest jock so nobody tries to get on his nerves besides a few idiots. despite being notorious for his intimidating reputation, he's one of the popular kids at school considering how ann is so good-looking with a great body. girls have a thing for guys with a bad-boy look and boys want to show off their influence by hanging around other cool dudes but ann doesn't hang out with those people or rarely attends any party even though they would invite him more than three times.

the guy doesn't have a good relationship with the teachers or his classmates besides a few individuals. he doesn't interact with anyone at school, only talks to his childhood friends if they bump into each other.

he's in the basketball team, one of the most impressive players. ann generally has a neutral relationship with the members but a fight is bound to happpen when the team's just so full of hot-headed and stubborn guys.

what are their plans after high school?

for now, ann plans on staying in town and works different part-time jobs to earn money and look after his family. once his sister goes to high school, he will move to daegu with their mother and apply for some jobs with higher salary that doesn't require a university degree or diploma, earn money, save some for himself and send the rest back home. 

their family lost quite a lot of cash after paying for his father's surgery so one of them will need to drop out of school for a while and ann declares that it must be him. he will work and use his income to pay for his sister's tuition though he does have a dream of his own. 

one day, ann wants to open a beer club in seoul and have enough money to take all of his family members to the city with him.

what are they doing for the summer?

aside from working as his grandma's shipper and taking the night shift at the hardware store, ann is going to take on another part-time job which he'll be taking the day shift at a convenient store ( where he'll be working with jung saeran, a high school freshman who's a big nerd and an awkward idiot yet they surprisingly get along well. saeran is the only person whom ann considers as a friend besides his childhood buddies ). he also has basketball practice three times a week on monday, wednesday and friday.

how is their physical strength?

excellent, the strongest among the group of friends.

how is their mental strength?

average. generally doesn't freak out easily, only muttering "what the " under his breath a few too many times... when under too much pressure, he tends to hallucinate.

greatest fear?

lakes. ann nearly drowned when he rescued his sister after she fell into the lake and in hallucination, he saw a some sort of monster trying to pull him down. luckily, he made it out alive on his own though he doesn't get near the lakes after that incident anymore.
