appearnce.

— Leslie is a giant, looming at 185 cm tall. But he never comes across as intimidating, not intentionally, not with those messy hair and those prepectually bagged sleepy eyes. Weighing at 77 kg, he's definately not as light as he seems. Growing up in the gloomy highland of Scotland, he wasn't exposed to sunlight as much,  and it shows on his pale and freckled skin, and when the temperature jumped up ever so slightly, he'll be the first one to know from the way his cheeks burns up with the weather.

His hair is probably more than a little damaged; it's coarse and thick, and he tends to hide it with his growing collection of headpiece. When he has the time, or rather when he's feeling fancy, he'd slick it up with so much grease, you can smell his hair gel two houses away. Leslie has a bad eyesight, he's myopic, so he adorns himself with a pair of clear rimmed glasses that he can never seem to get clean.

fashnstle.

— Leslie's style can be sum up in two words; loose and billowy. He likes his shirts big and breathable. Oversized everything, even when it's cold outside. He likes wearing clothes that clings to his limbs.

prsoNlity.
humorous and flirtatious, but cocky.

Leslie is someone who doesn't like to have a lot of things weighing him down. He likes to be free of thoughts, or worries and free to experiance life. He's got wit as fast as lightning that he uses it to add spice to his humour, instead of using it for biting words because Leslie is a lot of things, but he's not mean. He's funny and quick, and it's one of the things that makes him a natural people magnet. Another trait he picks up after being around so many people is knowing what people wants to hear form you and for Leslie, he enjoys socialising with people with a touch of playful teasing and harmless flattery. But the years that has sharpened his people skill has also caused him to be greedy for people's attention. He knows that he's funny, he knows that he can make people smile with the simplest of compliment and sometimes, he gets it in his head and thinks of himself as superior than other people because of it. Even though, of course, he wouldn't say it out loud.

easy going and mellow, but emotionally unavailable.
Leslie doesn't like dealing with emotional baggage. He is someone who doesn't take emotions and relationships too seriously. He likes to keep things casual between himself and they people around him and he enjoys the lack of intensity in his friendships. Leslie is aware that most of his relationships are shallow but he is at peace with it, he prefers not spilling anything personal to anyone but himself anyway, and he isn't delusional enough to expect people to not do the same to himself. He likes keeping things at a distant, it brings him a sense of freedom in some way even if it can be quite lonely sometimes. Leslie isn't a cold person, he tries to treat his friends as well as he can but he doesn't enjoy being burdened down by other people's problem and although he make an effort to help, sooner or later people can see that Leslie is not the right person to be dumping their problems to. And it does cause a crack in his friendship more often than not.

opinionated and argumentative, but confident with a competitive streak.
Leslie isn't the most talkative person around but he does know how too talk efficiently to get his points across and be heard. Leslie is incredibly enthusiastic about things that he is passionate about. Once he talks a stance, he is as solid as a mountain and will never sway, unless he himself finds a good reason to change his mind. If he believe in something, he will stay true to his view until the end of time -- or at least, until everyone else in the room agrees with him. He's not one to start fights but when questioned, he will not back down until the other party acknowledges his words as gospel. It can get the better of him sometimes, but he's got a lot of confidence backing him up. Once he dream about something, he'll chase it down no matter what.

bckground.
Leslie was was born the younger of two siblings in a bustling neighbourhood in Glasgow. His mother was born and raised there, while his father migrated there just before his brother was born as a lecturer in a local university. They were neither rich nor poor, they were a regular middle class family in a regular neighbourhood in regular Glasgow. He had a peaceful childhood and a normal rebellious teenage year, surrounded by normal, non-innovative people. In many ways, that was the largest reason why Leslie wanted to leave.

He had a vision. He had a dream that the was going to be a star. Leslie knew from the moment he first stepped into the football pitch, he was going to become a football star. He was athletic all the way through his schooling years but his father refused to admit him to a sporting school, so instead he joined his school's football club and participated in other athletic fields in his free time. He wasn't the strongest kid around but he was always the fastest, and his teammates valued him for that. Everyone who saw him run could tell that he was born to be an athlete.

Leslie was competitive, but he wasn't stupid. He knew that the sporting scene in Europe was tough, especially for someone who hasn't been in the traditional youth sporting system, so he knew the quickest way he could get into a professional team without wasting time is to go to South Korea, his father's homeland. And when Leslie made up his mind, he was going to follow through no matter what. So after endless discussion with his over protective parents and convincing his brother to support him, he packed up his bags at 18 and departed for Asia. Even though his parents were a couple of worrywarts, they gave in because they knew their son wouldn't take no for an answer. And although it remains unspoken between them, they knew their son had the talent for it.

Until fate intervened, of course. He was a couple of months into living in South Korea, assimilating with the culture well and socialising with the new friends he made in his new school there. It was a stupid night out, he was dragged by his new friends to a karaoke bar afterschool and they were drinking, having fun. Leslie could handle his alcohol well, usually but Korean soju was different from the liquor he was used to at home. That night was a blur of loud music and bright colours and laughter. And then suddenly he was on the road and a car speed towards him, and he reflexes could only do so much to safe him from fatality. In exchange for his life, Leslie woke up in the hospital bed with the news that he'd fractured both of his legs and that he would never be able to kick a ball again. His parents, who had helped him with the bills knew immediately what happened and called him to come back, but he couldn't do it. He couldn't face them. He was ashamed.

It pushed him into a slump. His family was far away, his true friends were out of reach too and his newer friends were apologetic but they didn't understand. They couldn't fathom why an unfortunate event would cause so much damage to his life. They couldn't understand how much it shattered him to know that he wouldn't be able to play again and the permanent limp he got from it was going to be a constant reminder of what he could've have,  and what he could've been.

But when Leslie was going through a bad time, it wasn't reflected in his emotional state. He acted just like he does before that night, although some people can see that he was keeping a huge distance between him and everyone else. Instead, he played hard. He wasn't contacting his family like he promised and spent a lot of time skipping his classes and crashing parties, making a name for himself in the party scenes. He met a lot of people of different walks of life and got tempted into the habit of cigarettes and booze. Before he knew it, he was barred from his graduation exam and had to be held back in school.

But all wounds heal with time, and with time he came to a realisation that he's wasting his life away. He finally graduated, almost two years later than his peer and spent a gap year where he came back to Scotland to rekindle his familial ties. His parents were glad he was back but they couldn't help but to treat him a little differently, with a slight touch of awkwardness after almost two years of loosing touch with him. Leslie decided to go to college in South Korea, to find a new purpose in life. Scotland was too close to the young boy he once was and he needed to get away from that because although the wound has healed, the scar is still there. He wants to start over again on a clean sheet.

fun facts.

— Leslie walks with a limp that isn't too noticeable at first but when he's tired, it becomes more apparent.
— Because of the accident, he couldn't do too much physical activities that can strain his legs. So, no running or jumping or anything that could break the metals that's in his legs.
— He's very resilient to cold temperature, but when under the slightest touch of sunlight, he'd turn red.
— A lone wolf. He's a social person but if he had the choice, he'd spend an entire week alone, just chilling in bed.
— He is actually quite hard to impress when it comes to dates (regular outings or romantic ones). He's not that into movies, he likes eating but he can be choosy when it comes to the menu, he likes seeing nature but he's a homebody and he's got so little interest in animals that he couldn't care less about aquarium and zoos. He's got nothing against it, he's just don't see what's so good about them.
—  Obviously, he speaks English well. But since his accent is so thick that non-English speakers couldn't understand him, he feels embarrassed when his friends ask him to speak English. He prefers to speak in Korean.
— He's got a hat collection to hide his hair.
— After the accident, he actually still watch football obsessively but he couldn't make himself watch it live from the pitch anymore. He prefers to see it through the screen.
— He's making an effort to stop smoking but when it becomes too stressful, he just had to puff it.

fc: yoshizawa ryo

Shoji is a japanese student studying at the same university as Leslie as well as his previous housemate. When Leslie first came to Korea, he applied for a shared housing with a couple of international students but as they graduated or returned to their home country, and Leslie was held back, he found himself looking for a new housemate. Shoji came to Korea to attend the university. He is two years younger than Leslie but quickly bonded with him through their shared interest in manga/manhwa and their compatible personalities. He never joined Leslie in all his endeavors in those two years gap, but they grew close regardless. Shoji never outright condemned or prised Leslie's choices but unlike Leslie, he was studious and very passionate about his music (he plays the violin), and watching him chase after his dream of playing his instrument in a professional level rekindle the passion he has for football, and the exposure healed him more than he could've expected. In some ways, it was the turning point for Leslie. Shoji inspired him to be better, and as soon as the words slip from his lips that he wanted to go back to school and graduate, Shoji was there to make sure he's back on track. Leslie isn't stupid, which saves Shoji a lot of time, but it made him feel eternally grateful to Shoji. And when Leslie manage to get into university, he decided that Shoji has a special part in his heart and that he'd kill a man for him. Once they both got accepted into the university, they decided that their shared house was expensive in comparison to the other commodities, so they left.

In school, Shoji and Leslie shares Introduction to Calculus together and spent the majority of their free times with each other and their other friend, Jiwoo. Since Shoji is an introvert, they usually hang out in places that are either quiet or where they can blend in with the crowds — the cafe, the library, KFC, the courtyard, etc. Their favourite hangout spot though, is a lounge room hidden through many layers of hallways in the School of Business building that seemed to be abandoned and forgotten by the rest of the school. They are both emotionally distant, so they seldom talk about it but if they know that something is wrong, they'll both try to figure it out themselves and try to make it better subtly, until the other one would say something about it. Shoji never asked about Leslie's secrets, but Leslie trust him enough to drop hints here and there as a casual way of telling Shoji.
( "Yeah, I wanted to be a footballer once... but then happened."  "He's cute, ain't he?"  "I never went on a school mt, I broke my leg." )

Best Friend : lee jiwoo / health science major + half time tuition teacher / {+} calm and collected, hard working, humorous {-} passive aggressive, a workaholic, egoistic / 8 out of 10
fc: lee hayi

Jiwoo is a girl he only met in school. Since they're doing the same major, they have a lot of clashing classes and tutorial sessions. But they didn't talk until his second semester there, where they were paired up at random to make a presentation for one of their class. Jiwoo come across as someone hard to please and intimidating on first look, but it didn't take that long for them to get on, and the more he hangs out with her, the more he realise how alike they both are. They share the same humour, the same sense of style and most importantly, the same taste in music. It was a happy accident initially. They were meeting up for the first time to do their project, and as Leslie open up his laptop, an unclosed YouTube tab starts belting out music in the quiet library. They laughed off the glares but Jiwoo was quick to point out that she liked the band he was listening to, and the rest is history.

Jiwoo stands out from the other people Leslie met in college. Jiwoo is a beauty and she knows that but she doesn't let her vanity drown her. She puts up an image of herself that paints a picture of a confident girl that is effortlessly elegant and put together but she behind that mask, she is the most hard working person Leslie ever come across. Her work ethics itself influence Leslie to try harder, not just in his studies but in life in general. Jiwoo comes from a humble family but is never ashamed of it, in fact she uses that motivation as a way to always be thankful for everything that comes her way. And even though she never enforces her way of thinking to Leslie, he saw her as the most precious of his friends and she made him a kinder person. She spreads an aura of unopressive optimism around her and it greatly effected Leslie.

Since Leslie and Shoji are joined at the hip, when Leslie started becoming closer to Jiwoo, naturally Shoji was dragged into it. Thankfully, Shoji and Jiwoo gets along well and it wasn't long until LeslieandShoji to become LeslieShojiandJiwoo. The three of them would spend a lot of time together, just talking or joking around, when they have the free time to spare. Shoji and Jiwoo has started meet up to study and even though Leslie prefers to study alone, he has to admit that studying with the two of them increases his productivity tenfold. Even though Jiwoo is close to him, Leslie had known her for shorter period of time and he still isn't too comfortable in telling her anything about his past yet.

Housemate : cho siyun / psychology major / {+} bubbly, sweet, selfless, responsible, energetic, honest, & witty {-} gullible, clumsy, non-confrontational, scatter brained, tactless, impulsive, & indecisive / 3 out of 10

Leslie likes siyun and they got along fine. She's easy to talk to, laughs to his jokes and sometimes even come up with witty comeback that makes him laugh in return. She's older than him and much more experience in the studying department, which only increases her reliability in his eyes and it makes him feel comfortable. But despite the jokes and easy conversations, Leslie does have very visible boundaries with Siyun. The same sort of boundaries he draw between him and all of his casual friends; they have a good time together and everything above that is off limit. He can see that Siyun cares for people around her, but their friendship isn't strong enough for him to tell her anything about his personal life. Even small things like his plans for the day or his interest are not things he likes to discuss with anyone but his two friends Shoji and Jiwoo. He appreciate it, really, and he's thankful to Siyun for being such a sweetheart but they're not that close at all.

However, because of her gullible nature, it evokes a natural sense of protectiveness out of everyone around her, Leslie is no exception. If he comes across Siyun falling for some sort of trick or even works, someone's manipulation, he won't hesitate to come to her defense.

your secret?.

— He doesn't want people to know about his former dream of being a footballer, mainly for two reasons; one, it hurts to remember and two, he doesn't like people poking around something that meant so much to him. It isn't really a secret but he doesn't want people to know about it.
— On a more serious note, he wants to hide his behavioural issues and the things he's done in the two years gap between high school and college; all the drinking and the partying. He doesn't want anyone to see him as someone that wild anymore.
— Leslie learned a lot of things in those two years — how to party, various hangover tricks, maximizing his soberness, and his uality. He never questioned it before, he was too preoccupied with his dream and he liked girls just normally, but he came to the realisation in those two years that he might like boys as well. It's not a thing he ever confide in anyone. And although he had enough time to think about it and come to accept it, it's not something he can casually sprinkle into a conversation yet. He's got a strange way of thinking, he admits but to him, as long as he don't deny or admit to his biuality, he can just ignore it. Like all the other troubling emotionally exhausting problems in his life.

your mug, house slippers, etc?.

what does your side of the room look like?.

— Leslie is a hoarder so he's got a lot of stuff stuffed into his side of the room, but he is not a dirty guy. He's messily organised.

daily schedule.

— Earlier in the school term, he managed to convince his lecturers to change his classes to his preferred day and time. Because of that, he got to get his classes all crammed into Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Meaning that the got the rest of the week off to get some 'free study' time. We all know what that means. Now that he's in a better place in life, most of his free time is spent in bed or in front of his PS4. But on those days, he started craving social interaction, you can find him lounging in a cafe with his bestfriends or accompanying them with whatever they're doing at that time. Sometimes (exactly once a week actually, usually on Fridays), Leslie will begin to feel guilty about all the works he isn't doing and he'll be in the library from dusk to dawn trying to catch up with them.

When it comes to his meals, he prefers eating with a lot of people (because he thinks eating alone is too sad), which means that he would be either in the school canteen or in a restaurant with this friends.

He doesn't like to stay up partying (anymore) and would leave any evening event with the same excuse of keeping his sleeping schedule in order. He'll leave at 11pm the latest. But the truth is that his sleeping schedule is pretty inconsistent. He'll use that peaceful, undisturbed time at night to play some video game, watch a match or just lazing around.

comments. hey ! i just want to say good luck for your story, even if i dont get picked. i've made leslie a biual, so i don't mind if you end up pairing him up with a girl or a guy (again, if he's picked that is hahaha). anyhow, jiayou !
password. tell you what, i haven't actually watched the show so i don't have a favourite. maybe i'll give it a go in the future?
scene requests.

— as i was making this character, i sort of imagine him in school as being known for being 1/3 of a trio with shoji and jiwoo. i didn't put it in, but i imagined that they would get a lot of attention since shoji is smart and talented, jiwoo is really pretty and so is leslie. it's not really a specific scene, but i would like to read about my boi right here being talked about because of it. hope it's not too much to ask for! xx
p.s i love pictures jfnveikjvn
