          korean + iseul can speak korean very well as it is his mother tongue. he learnt it informally through his parents so, eventhough he's fine with speaking it, he still have a slight hardship with spelling when it comes to writing korean down.
          german + german is a language he picked up in school when he was living in germany. the language comes easy for him because he uses it to communicate with everyone outside his family at the first eleven years of his life. even after moving back to south korea, he maintained his linguistic skill by watching german shows and listening to german music.
          english + he also picked up english language at school but since he doesn't use it as much as korean or german, he stumbles upon his words often and mispronounce many things. when it comes to the subject of english language at school, though, he still tops his class.

          Iseul like to tousled his black hair back, partially because they get in the way of his sight, partially because he likes how it looks like on him. Iseul has a tattoo of the constellation of capricorn at the back of his neck and he has a tongue piercing, a small sphere that he likes to play with when he's bored.

When it comes it fashion, he doesn't really follow a specific trend but he likes to dress like an 80s english rockers sometimes. He'd put on his leather jacket, plain white shirt, ripped jeans and army booths. Most of the time, he would just put on the first thing he sees. His closet is filled with mostly black or white article of clothing, with some grey thrown in there from time to time.

In term of school attire, Iseul thinks that his uniform is ugly. So, naturally, he would tweak it and break some rules regarding the way he wears them. He hates tucking in his shirt, so he keeps them messily untucked. His blazer is nowhere to be seen, his sleeves are usually rolled up to his elbows, showing off his watch and various braided bracelets that he likes to wear. His tie are always lose and he likes to put a simple metallic chain on his trousers pocket to add something to 'lessen the ugliness of this uniform', as he puts it.

Because of the way he chooses to dress, most people tend to stay away from him as he gives off an intimidating vibe. Strangers avoide him, other students tried their best to not cross with him and teachers mostly leaves him alone. Even though some people might romantisized their view on him, not even them are brave enough to go up to him uncalled.

Iseul appears to be effortlessly cool. Everything from the way he dresses to his demeanour sketches a picture of someone intimidating that you do not want to cross. Unfortunately for him, he has to put up with people fearing him because of the way he looks but inside he is much more than just another notorious school kid. Looking at him, one does not simply anchor the word 'disciplined' to his personality but he is, surprisingly. In term of being a disciplined student, he is not going to be at the top ten. He had broken a few school rules before but he isn't the type of person to do it just because of the sake of rebellion. His discipline comes in term of abiding to his personal philosophy and holding on to what he believes.

Because of the above, he is unchanging, meaning that once he sets his mind on something, nothing will ever be able to persuade him otherwise, unless he does it himself. Usually this comes in term of beliefs and his opinion on things. For Iseul to be so opinionated and stubbornly holding on to them, he believes that his say on things are always right. This may seem to be arrogant, but he argues that this is so because he is a logical man and everything he believe in are based on factual and practical things.

Iseul often comes off as reckless, because of the risky way he chooses to dress but as they say, you can never judge a book by its cover. Despite how people depict him, he is a very ambitious person. He believes in achieving greatness in his life, although his way of getting there are different from the traditional method. (Instead of studying vigilantly to ensure your educational pathway, Iseul believes that as long as you have faith in what you do, you can go anywhere. In his case, being enticed with written words is qualification enough to be a writer)

Although his team playing skills are not bad, in a sense that he will contribute to a group when needed, he prefer greatly to do his work alone. He’s just more comfortable by himself and he thinks that the absent of other people to worry about allows him to work much better. His independence doesn’t stop in the classroom walls though. Even in his daily life, he enjoys the freedom of being all by himself. He often goes to quiet, vacant places in his free time, just to get out of the crowd so that he can be alone with his thoughts. He thinks that his free-spirited, unbounded soul is his greatest possession.

One of the biggest perk people often notice from Iseul is his patient nature. He’s patient when it comes to waiting for other people to finish but he is also patient in the sense of finding peace in bustling situations. It is very hard to see Iseul loses his temper because of this and some people even find comfort and stability in him because of his never ending patience.

However, his patience is not enough to make people feel safe around him. The main reasons for this are because he is cynical and unsympathetic. He’s cynical in a way that it is very hard for him to trust people. Iseul doesn’t really have a sob story to go with this, but after experiencing life and being exposed to so many horrible stuffs like criminal and back stabbers for 17 years, he has come to a conclusion that human being are flawed creatures that simply cannot be trusted that easily. Iseul also appears to be unsympathetic because he lacks the bond that entwines him and other people. Simply put, because most people he encounter are nothing more than acquaintances that will exit his life in a few years anyway, he doesn’t really care about their wellbeing. Of course this is untrue for his family and friends, but for everyone else, he couldn’t care less.

Continuing form that, it might not be a surprise to learn that he has quite a pessimistic outlook on life. Again, he’s not exactly a depressed or emotionally unstable person; he just likes to expect the minimum from life. He expects it to go downhill, he knows there are going to be a rocky path awaiting him in the future and he accepts that life is going to be like that. He likes to prepare for the worst, he thinks it’s much better than expecting the best and getting slammed down when the ‘real world’ finally shows itself.

And a little ironically, the reason why he managed to still be sure that he will make it through the dark thorny route of life is because he is a fatalist. He knows that life will be full of thorns and hardship but he also believes that whatever happens to him, happens for a reason. And at the end of the road, when he looks back at the past, all the roughness in life will paint a good picture. That's what he believes in.

Lastly, people often agree that the worst part of Iseul is his grudging trait. Simply put, Iseul might forgive be he will never ever forget. Once you lay a finger on him, your finger mark will remain there forever. This means that if your name is ever written into his bad book, he will always be cautious around you even if the problems surrounding you and him has been resolved.

• Iseul love writing. From dark poetries to short stories, from observational description to random quotes that just popped into mind, he loves writing. He is planning on doing writing as a full time job in the future but he’s still thorn on either being a book writer of a journalist.

• He also likes reading as much as he likes to write. His favourite genre of novel is psychological thriller and mystery. He also owns a few poetry books but most of the written works stacked on the shelves in his room are novels and philosophical books.

• Iseul is very interested in philosophy. He gets very curious about unanswered questions and philosophical wonder. He often loses his head in the clouds because he thinks about stuff like this.

• Other than that, he has a childhood interest in astronomy. He is very knowledgeable in the field of stars and galaxies and cosmic wonders.

• His parents were both university professors teaching in germany, that’s the reason he was born and raised there. But the moved back to South Korea and decided to teach at a local university instead because his grandmother was at poor health and needed to be taken care off.

          Hwan is prime and proper. He is all about the importance of etiquette and proper mannerism; sitting up straight, holding your chopstick correctly, being well groomed and ready for any occasion. He couldn't be more different from Iseul. Unlike more lucky people, Hwan is not gifted with natural intelligence. He has to put in hard work to keep his grades at least above average but nonetheless, he is well respected by the teachers and student alike for his polite and upright attitude.

His obsession with being strict and upright is greatly influenced by his opulent upbringing. He comes from a rich family and has been taught to be like that since his childhood. Although this often becomes the topic of teasing and mockery to the people around him when he was younger, over the year it has shifted to be an admirable trait instead (although, some still chooses to pick on him about it sometimes).

One of the things he learnt was to speak only when spoken to, and if you don't have anything good to say, keep your silence. Because of this, he appears to be quiet and reserved. He isn't exactly a social or overly friendly person, in fact he's leaning more towards the serious type of guy but he is civil with everyone he meets and tries his best to be nice to people.

If Iseul is greatly opinionated, Hwan is the complete opposite - he lacks opinion. For Hwan, as long as his parents approves of it, it must be a good thing right? He doesn't have the sense of doing something for your own gain because all his life, his decisions are mainly made by his parent for him ('you should play the piano' 'if you becomes a lawyer, you will have a good life' 'you should do this because it's right'  'don't do that because it's wrong').

Along with his lack of opinion, he also lack the ability to convey his emotions properly. He was brought up with the thought that crying in public is improper, that laughing wholeheartedly is not graceful, that a man should reserve his feelings for himself and as a result, Hwan finds it really hard to talk about and show his feelings.

And if Iseul is an independent mind that does what he wants, Hwan is like a caged soul wanting to be free. He fears his parents' disapproval because he has the traditional mindset that once you lost the approval of your family, you will lose your honour. And there is nothing scarier than that for him. So, his actions are greatly limited. He can't do as he wants because he feel the need of being a picture perfect son. .

          Appearence wise, he is just like his personality; prime and proper, like a young prince. His hair is usually combed down but sometime he likes to tousled them. His lips are chapped, so he likes to bring around a chapstick around in his pocket and he'd apply them in the toilet. Everyone with good eyesight can see that he has a babyface, something he isn't too proud about (he thinks it makes people treat him less seriously).

At home his closet is filled with collared shirt and buttons up. He has simple monochromatic sweaters for when it's chilly outside. Since his parents disapprove of 'childish' things such as multicoloured or printed images on his clothes, he doesn't own any vibrant T-shirt. Outside his house, he usually goes around with plain white button up shirts and black jeans, nothing to tight or improper of course.

At school, he is the model student when it comes to wearing the uniform. He doesn't loosen his tie or rolls up his sleeves because he hates it when his clothes creases. His white shirt is never untucked, and when he's feeling hot, he simply his blazer. Even for his summer uniform, he will make sure to always wear it properly.

          Everyone can see that Iseul and Hwan are complete opposite to each other and since they are from different classes, there are no reasons for them to ever cross path but obviously, fate has a different plan.

The faithful encounter happened randomly, one winter morning on the way to school. Iseul was stopped near the school gate by a teacher who was patrolling that morning because of the way he dresses to school. While getting scolded, Iseul mindlessly started looking around and his eyes focused on a boy who was just coming out from a black car.

His first thought when he saw that boy was, wow, he's really pretty.

As if able to hear his thoughts from a distance, the boy, Hwan, looked up and their gazes met. But the teacher who was lecturing Iseul snapped his attention back to her and when he glanced back to where the pretty boy once were, he wasn't there anymore.

And from that moment on, Iseul constantly finds himself looking around school for that pretty boy. It wasn't until many weeks after the encounter that they actually started speaking.

Iseul was lounging with his headphones on at his usual spot at lunchtime on a rusty metal bench he found hidden inside the school's flowery courtyard, when Hwan appeared with his own lunch clutched in one hand and a water bottle clutched in another. Hwan had wanted to leave but for some reason Iseul told him to stay. He moved to make space for the shorter boy to sit on and even though he was hesitant, he sat down.

Iseul, who had been spending a lot of his lunchtimes there asked Hwan why he had come there when he wasn't usually there. Hwan was quiet for a moment but eventually he answered that he's hiding from someone. Iseul didn't question further and Hwan leave as soon as he was done with his lunch.

The next day, the same thing happened and the lunch passed by quietly as well with Iseul striking up conversation only to be shot down by Hwan's short answers.

When the third day finally arrived, Iseul finally asked him who he was hiding from. Hwan told him very vaguely that some upperclassmen were trying to extort money from him and that's why he's been hiding. Iseul insisted Hwan to tell on them but he refuses because he thought that it would be embarrassing, so Iseul told him that if they knows that Hwan is friend with him, they wouldn't dare to touch him because he explained that the majority of the school doesn't dare to mess with him. Buying into that Hwan lets Iseul to walk him to his classes so that they appeared to be good friend but that soon turned to be real as they started talking and getting to know each other at lunchtime.

Because of their differences, they help each other a lot. Iseul thought Hwan how to be more free, how to loosen up on life and how life should be enjoyed. Hwan on the other hand, introduced control in Iseul. And slowly, they started falling for each other.
