— Haneul always got compliments for her blonde hair ever since she decided to dye it last summer. She didn't love that people gave her attention for it, but because she loves when people really, genuinely love her hair. Since she is 170cm tall, she will stand about a head over most of her friends and schoolmates. This alone makes her the schools own circus attraction. She loves her dark brown eyes and even if her friends keep bugging her to wear blue contacts to finish her barbie look, she wouldn't do it.

— flower dresses, flower tshirts, flower skirts, flower crown on her head... she'll never leave the house without at least one item with flowers on it, ... and somehow she likes running around with bare feet. Yes. Even on the street. She will take them off in the middle of the restaurant, in school, even while shopping groceries and her friends judge her for it. SO MUCH. She likes to wear rings and bracelets, on her hand and feet.

Haneul is like the mother kissing her loved kid goodbye at the doorstep and waiting for a few more minutes to really make sure it makes it savely to the bus. She will worry about whether the kid is doing okay in school, if nobody is bullying it and if it ate enough during recess.

Haneul has always felt emotions more than other people. She had empathic abilities, with which she could feel when people were sad or happy and it would break her heart or exite her along with you. She loved her dear ones so much, that she made sure they have everything they need and help them whenever they asked for it. "No.", was simply not an aswer for her out of her principles.

She is overly optimistic and will take every bad situation by the horns and turn it into something positive. It wasn't that she was naive, she just kind of saw the world differently than most people. She will not let get bad stuff to her heart and although she likes to nag to her friends when they again ignored her advice and completly messed things up, but she'd search harmony above all. 

The thing is, sometime you should put yourself above everyone else to not damage yourself, but that is still something Haneul must learn. She is sometimes overwhelmed, since she says yes to everything... and you just can't handle everything. She will forget things she promised, switch dates and places and gets confused who actually needed her help again. 

Her big love is art. She loves to paint and even though with her intellect she could easily get into a really good college to study law or medicine, she will try to get into an art college. It makes her forget the world and it is her personal time to reconnect and charge her own batteries. The art room in her school is her sancuarity and people would always come in with a simple "I knew I'd find you here."

When asked about Haneuls biggest weakness people would slip up into two groups and fight about whether it is her constant impulsiveness that makes her life miserable or her clumsiness that makes the miserableness even more miserable. 

Her impulsive nature was something she even had as a kid and it actually made her aunt go nuts. She constantly choke on stuff after putting it in without thinking. She's burn herself, her words "Nothing's gonna happen" still echoing in the room. Her aunt couldn't count how many times she took Haneul to the hospital.. but it was enough for them to get christmas cards from the nurses.

Really not helping in this aspect is Haneuls constant clumsiness. She'd  trip over air, bumb into dust and punch into light. There literally has to be nothing and she will hurt herself from it. There were times when her aunt was being called to school, because her teachers thought she was getting abused at home. But after some classmates and friends told the teachers that Haneul was simply a klutz, the situation eased herself. Her friends always laugh at her for wanting to care for others, when actually she needs the help more. 

 

bckground.

There has always been just her and her aunt. Haneul never knew what happened to her parents exactly, but the pain in her aunts eyes everytime the younger one asked about them made her believe they died. Haneul was still a baby when Aunt Jihyun took her in. She didn't own alot of money, time or properties, but she raised Haneul so selfless, that it still warms the blondes heart to call such a perfect person a family member. Her aunt always told her, that it is more important to her that Haneul is raised to become a genuinly nice, warm, empathic and respectful person than to be smart, wealthy or successful. That there is so much more good and delight in helping others than to be greedy for material stuff.

With that mindset, Haneul always wanted to become such a wonderful person like Jihyun. She helped other kids in kindergarden if they fell, telling them encouraging things like "It's okay to cry, but the pain will stay. But if you smile, you can feel it heal faster." and even growing up, after she entered Junior High and High School, she felt the need to always be on student councils, paramedic or mediation programs, to stand up for and help others. 

Helping them always made her feel special.. and kind of.. magical.

Haneul and Jihyun had the best relationship one could probably have. It didn't matter to her that Jihyun wasn't her birthmother, because in her heart she was. Sure, there were times when they fought and times when one of them or both slam doors shut, but within seconds they'd reget it and apologize. There was no pride in being right or wrong when it comes to their family.
