Whee Ha :: Her Korean name which some of the more.... stubborn Koreans still call her. Come on guys it's Winona.

hometown / Orlando, Florida
Blood Type / B-
ethnicity / Korean
nationality / American
uality / Bi

languages /
► English :: 'Murica born and raised! She's most comfortable in English, definitely, and will opt for English whenever she gets the chance.

FACE CLAIM / Ashley (Ladies' Code)
BACKUP / Lee Hanna
Appearance /
► One of the things Winona loves about Korea? She doesn't feel so short anymore! Well, at least not around women. At 166 she's just a little above average here, bonus! Weight-wise she's always been on the healthy side, healthier than any of her companies would like, but Winona is pretty stubborn about not starving herself.

This healthy doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things though, just a bit more (Lip&)hip (and not much more to her great annoyance). Her skin is also quite dark, she's a Florida girl used to sunbathing, hell if she knew all Koreans love being pasty white.

Style /
► Winona is a florida girl born and raised, and her fashion reflects that. Shorts, crop tops, etc. All the sumer wear! She's a lil weenie when it comes to winter though and will bundle up in all sorts of sweaters and blankets and jackets to keep warm. S-s-she's a-a F-F-Florida g-girl.
//// The Deep Dive ////

character traits / Talkative, ditzy, dense, friendly, kinda dumb honestly, flirty, outspoken, self-centered, individualistic, shameless, juvenile, positive, insensitive, funloving, attention

elaboration /
► Hold the phone! We've got an American over here!

Tl;dr: half valley girl, half meme, half insensitive stubborn American, half little dumbo. She's kind of ridiculous. Also not good at math.

Funloving, juvenile, attention , and shameless - In many ways Winona exists for fun. Honestly that's the reason she's here to begin with. She didn't really want to begin her actual serious life, instead she's using this trainee thing and this show thing to just delay that for a while. She doesn't really take being an idol seriously. Honestly though, Winona doesn't take any facet of life seriously. She lives to have fun.

his makes her a bit juvenile. She has this lack of responsibility or maturity. She's 22 years old, but doesn't always act like it. Winona is the oen who's always slacking off and finding some way to just have fun. She's the one making weird facing during a broadcast, or fooling around in the waiting room. Sitting still is something she just can't do, she always has to do something that's bringing her amusement. Winona is allergic to being bored. She simply cannot stand it. Fun must be had at all times!

Of course this brings her into conflict with those who are actually serious about what they're doing. About their art. Winona isn't here for any creative art. She's simply here to enjoy herself. She's going to have a blast with the cameras and shooting footage all the time and she's excellent at amusing the audience. But there's the downside to that as well. Winona is good at capturing attention whenever she's in a shot. Point the camera at Winona and she will definitely steal your thunder. She was made for this!

Talkative, dense, and honestly quite dumb - Winona is one of those people who loves hearing their own voice. She could talk for hours. Probably about herself. Definitely about herself. Not only that but she's, frankly, quite dumb. Winona embodies at least part of the valley girl stereotype. She's a little dense and dumb one who says stupid things all the time, but she's goodnatured enough to laugh it off when it's pointed out. She doesn't care if she looks dumb on national television. Oh well.

Positive, friendly, and flirty - Winona is this beacon of positivity. She loves giving compliments, and gives them freely. She's always complimenting people left and right, regardless of gender or social position. She'll tell one of the girls she's exceptionally pretty roday, or tell the manager that they're looking smart, or tell this sunbae that omg she totally loves their comeback! Whenever Winona thinks something positive she has to immedaitely express it, people have to know that she things well of them!

Sometimes this is seens a little flirty, and, to be fair, Winona does flirt. With anyone. She just loves giving people attention and the flirting is good fun for her. She knows nothing will come of it, but that's totally fine. She just likes the playful aspect of it. The sassy back and forth of a good flirting is always wonderfull. She doesn't care for gender, she's openminded and proudly biual. Who cares about gender??

As a generally harmless and goodnatured person, positive thoughts are what swim into Winona head most frequently. She never gets jealous, she wouldn't even know how, and she's always very excited about the successes of others. She's the first to squeal and congratulate a group members on an endorsement deal or anything positive. She doesn't care that she didn't get it, oh my gosh it's so awesome that *insert name* is getting so popular! Honestly Winona doesn't care at all about the competition aspect of the show. She's just here for the team!

Ditzy, honest, and outspoken - She's also a total ditz. She often says things without thinking, has hardly any filter at all, and then ends up accidentally offending people. She doesn't mean anything bad, honestly Winona and malicious intent just do not go together, but the thigns she says end up coming out wrong anyway. Worse is she never really knows when things come out wrong, and only when it's pointed out to her does she realize she's just said something really offensive.

She's really just used to be honest at every turn, and she values honesty herself. Things is, that's all well and good in an American society, but this is Korea we're talking about. The countrry of saving face. Winona does not save face. She goodnaturedly mocks face. She points out all of face's problems and then feels awful for making face feel bad. She doesn't mean to, she never means to, but sometimes things to floop out.

Self-centered, insensitive, individualistic, and stubborn - Winona is very American. She's so American she hardly knew anything about the culture of Korea when she got there. Was it very smart to go to the other side of the world and just expect to make it big while knowing nothing if its culture? No. Is Winona known for being smart? No. She still stubbornly clings to her American values and is resistent to Korean norms. Respect for her elders? Concept of saving face? etc? She just thinks it's silly and obviously her individualistic American norms are far superior.

Honesty this probably comes from the fact that Winona is fundamentally self-centered. She's one of those people wo always ends up talking about themselves one way or another, or bringing the spotlight onto themselves. She doesn't evne mean to do it, means nothing bad with it, but it's an automatic thing. Her brain always brings her back to her, her, her

background
► Honestly, for the most part, Korea wasn't on Winona's radar growing up. She's second generation Korean American, her family's been on the continent for a long while now. She knew a bit of Korean, mostly for communicating with her grandma. At home everyone just spoke English and acter American. Her mome tried to get her daughter to not forget her heritage but honestly it was a lost cause.

Winona is as American as it gets. More than that she's also as typically valley girl as it gets. Dense, dumb, but goodnatured. She even joined the cheerleading team in high school, she's as stereotypical as it gets. But Winona always floundered when it came to actually figuring out what she wanted to do with her life. Hell if she knew!

She ended up going to communty college, something in and of tiself that her parents didn't approve much of, majoring in liberal arts aka the most useless college degree in the universe aka the thing that people take when tey have no idea what they want to do with their lives. So she went to college, and her grades were abysmal but she had much fun! She spent more time on parties than homework or studying, but such was college life right? So she just about managed to graduate and then it was like now what?

She spent 6 months just kind of fumbling around. She didn't really manage to get a job and lived with her parents, and then one of her friends dared her to audition for kpop entertainment companies. Both of them had been into kpop for a while now and it'd seemed a silly but fun thing to do. They made a video and Winona showed off her cheerleading skills (close enough to dancing, right?) and vibrant personality and they sent it via online audition to basically all of the kpop companies they knew. It was just for fun, and of course neither of them was surprised when they heard nothing back.

Then, 4 months after the audition tape was sent, Winona gets a message from a certain Happyface Entertainment that they'd like her to audition in person. Nobody is as surprised as she is. So she flies to Korea and auditions and wouldn't you have it! She's signed! It all happened so fast honesly Winona hardly had time to think. She just thought okay this is awesome and sounds fun! Let's go for it! And here we are now.

relationships /
► Sharon Lee + Thomas Lee / parents / They try to do right by her but they both know Winona.... won't really amount to much. There are asian parents who expect the world from their children and then some, but the Lee's have learned to scale down their expectations very early on. They're apprehensive about this whole venture and would much rather Winona finally get her life togehter (somewhat) but they've learend not to get in the way of Hurricane Winona once she really gets going and try to support her from Florida.

triva /
► She's so easy when it comes to compliments, and flattery is always a great way to get on her good side. Though tbf it's basically impossible to get on her bad side she's too dense for that.

► She prefers Winnie for a nickname, but Koreans have this thing where they always take the last two sillables, so Nona it became. Ugh.

► Murica! Freedom! American dream! All that stuff! In her eyes America is always better, and she's constantly comparing it to Korea. In America cars don't do their very best to hit you. In America food doesn't try to kill you. In America beauty standards aren't so rigid and we celebrate all sorts of beauty. In America-

► She's terrible with all those strict Korean customs. Can't they just loosen up a bit? Who cares that she doesn't call that girl Unnie? She's only one year older than her!

► She says 'like' a criminal amount of times in a sentence. Same with 'totally' and 'oh my gosh'. I did tell you she's a total valley girl.

► She used ot do cheerleading! Of course she did omg Winona you stereotype. She was a tumbler, girl can tumble like a boss.

► She's super confident in her body and also body positive and also tries to share that with everyone. She's the kind of person who goes up to someone like "this just in you're looking fine today" and then disappears as suddenly as she came. Winona is an unstoppable force of positivity.

//// The moves and the pretty face ////
Main Talent / Meme-ability! Charisma! Cheerleading! FREEDOM! Mostly meme-ability honestly!

tRAINEE Life /
►  Okay so, here's the thing. With the re-debut of Dreamcatcher, Happyface didn't really have anymore promising female trainees left to send to whatever new crazy thing MNET had come up with today. They scrambled, looking through their auditionees to find someone, anyone to sign and send off just in case this is one of those P101 shows that hits gold. They found Winona's, who'd auditioned on a whim because what is the future and how do I keep this existential crisis at bay?? She was the only one who made an impact (even if said impact was a little questionable) and someone at Happyface said " it. it it's her or this boring person without any stage presence at all and we're kind of desperate here" and TADA. Winona got one month crash course of Korean + all sorts of idol mumbo jumbo and OFF SHE WENT.

STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES /
► Strenghts: She's Goddamned Winona Lee and she is here to make an impression and an impressiong she shall make!

► Weaknesses: Basically everything else, honestly. Aside from cheerleading and some very impressive hip-swaying skills (see: top), she has no experience dancing, no experience singing, no experience with cameras aside from some interviews with her cheer team where the leader took charge and nobody let Winona have the microphone. She's.... she's goddamned Winona Lee for better and very much for worse.
