PERSONALITY

Beomho is a real dreamer, he's as far from reality as you can be, really. Or at least that's how Sangho sees it. Beomho is optimistic and friendly and ready to lend a helping hand when needed. He's one of those people who's all about giving others a chance and is naive about the darker parts of the world. Understandable, since he's always had someone looking out for him. But he's also more functional than his brother might think. Beomho knows some people are , he'd just rather give them a chance first before coming to that conclusion, you know?

He's just as loyal as Sangho, really. It's always been the brothers against the world and that's not gonna change now. Beomho might make friends here, or allies, he might like them a lot, but they'll never come before Sangho. In many ways he's dependent on his brother to be the voice of reason, to be the grounding force, though often eough Beomho is a voice of a different kind of reason in return. On his own Beomho is often too taken by whim, too ready to listen fully to his intuition and not be careful enough about doing so. Prone to being swept away completely by a question, a mystery, and let everything else slip from his mind. Together they bring out the best in each other.

He's all about the greys, all about the middles. He's a writer, he knows sometimes characters do bad things but there are motivations behind that, reasonings, and Beomho will wait and see what those are. He's an empathetic thing, but he's also very perceptive, and that's people included. He tends to be quiet when others discussing big things (and then only, if it's him and Sangho or he feels comfortable he's quite talkative) and just watches and thinks instead, observes. Really, Sangho thinks he knows people, Sangho thinks he's keeping his eye out and his gaurd on, but it's Beomho who will see the little things. The bodylanguage, the guarded reaction, the shifty eyes. He's written them all, he knows.

He acts the same when it comes to puzzles or, well, anything really. Others might be discussing amongst each other how to do things but Beomho prefers to go about things himself and look around and observe and deduct. He's very good at putting things together that way, but he also tends to make his own decisions and act himself. It's a 50/50 really, either he'll interrupt everyone and mention something completely different to what they were discussing, something he thinks is important, or he'll just walk up to a lamp and pull it because he saw there was a mechanism attached. It might end up okay, he's crazy intuitive about this sort of thing, but it might not. That's the deal.

Really, people often make the mistake of thinking it's Sangho they should look out for. Beomho is the one who will see through things and he's the one who is capable of more things than, honestly, either you or him or anyone around thinks. You see, when you think in greys you might also be able to act in greys. Good people do bad things, and Beomho knows he's good people, but he also cares about Sangho fiercely. If things devolve, you probably wouldn't keep your eye on Beomho. Maybe, just maybe, you really should.

History

BACKGROUND:  Beomho and Sangho grew up on Jeju island, raised by a single mother after their dad walked out on them before either of them can really remember. Childhood was fairly typical, they didn't have a lot of money but they got by, and if anything the struggle made them all closer. Maera raised her boys always firmly letting them know that they had to rely on each other in this world. Animosity wouldn't do at all, family is there to be counter on, that's a value that stuck.

Beomho was always a dreamer, the kid who sits on the swing by himself and made up stories while Sangho was too busy picking fights with the people who would have bullied him. This continued throughout their school years. There were a few times where Sangho got himself beat up but his tenacity usually got people to back off even when he was two years younger than them, and Beomho as the gentle dreamer got off much easier than he normally would have.

Beomho's daydreams quickly gave way to writing. He started like many people his generation did: fanfics. Beomho's first fanfic was a Harry Potter one that was the cringiest thing ever. He later branched out to idol fanfics since those were more popular and he definitely liked quite a few groups. At one point he was failing in English class and his Canadian teacher, knowing that he liked to write, suggested he took a stab at writing in English. Beomho decided to give it a shot, and one thing lead to another and he found the magical website called asianfanfics.com.

It worked like a charm, really. At first his English was really bad of course but it got better and better the more he wrote. Soon the fanfic stopped being about fanfic and more about these character who just happened to have the names of Girls' Generation, of Beast, of f(x), of 4Minute, of Aeon, of MBX. It didn't matter, they were just characters now. They were shooting aliens in space, they were knights in a fairytale, they were explorers of an uncharted land, they were teenagers in a murder house. They could be anything at all to him. And then he found out about applyfics and he never looked back.

He also started doing content writing since he was about 16. It started with some local shop who wanted to go online and Maera had bragged enough about her son's writing talent and English talent. It was a way to earn an extra buck, to lighten the load off his mum, and to practice writing. He didn't realy enjoy it, it was boring as hell, but it was better than nothing.

Then he graduated and he knew what he wanted to do, he wanted to study creative writing and become an actual novellist! But that meant university, and ain't no way Maera had the money to put him through that bull. So he tried to get the best grades he could for scholarships and spent two years working at a store to save as much money as possible. There was another ulterior motive as well: he knew he wanted to go to university in Seoul, he wasn't getting any life experience in small Jeju, but that was scary as . He needed his little bro, and his little bro still had two years of high school to go.

And so the Noh Bros left for Seoul, leaving a sad but supporting mum behind them. They got a small student apartment while Sangho worked fulltime at a supermarket and Beomho went to some midtier university and did some freeland content writing on the side. They barely made do but it was good. They had each other, what more would they need? Well, aside from food on the table. But Beomho always felt bad about leaving Sangho to toil in some menial job while he got to go to university. He knew Sangho wanted more from life but right now they couldn't afford it. Beomho was doing well in his creative writing classes but that nagging guilt was always there. Halfway through his second year he got an offer from a company he'd been freelancing for. They were making the global jump and wanted to hire Beomho fulltime to do their English and Korean writing for them. Beomho decided to accept and quit school. There was a huge argument, Sangho called him all sorts of stupid and wasted his time in uni and what was going to happen to Beomho's big dream now? Beomho just said he didn't need a degree to be an author, he'd work on his novel in his own time and now Sangho could work on his own future!

So the Super Noh Bros' fortunes were reversed and Beomho hates every second of this job. Writing about various beauty products wasn't exactly stimulating. Of course working on his novel never happened, he got home tired and binged pop MVs or watched things or went out for fun with Sangho and he never got further than a single line on the page. He knew what he wanted to write! He just never had the energy to actually write it. Tomorrow, he'd always say to himself. I'll start seriously working on it tomorrow.

And then a single envelope landed on their doormat addressed to Beomho.

The Details

OCCUPATION: Content writer at the most boring of jobs by day, fanfic writer by night, legit author in his dreams

SKILLS

- Look, listen. Beomho can connect the dots like a mofo. Have you seen a kpop fan at work trying to spot and decipher hidden messages and meanings in an mv??? If someone can spot two and two and put them together it's Beomho. (translation: he's perceptive as and clever)

- Kid's got crazy intuition, he calls it writer's sense and often refers to things as "he knows where this character arc is going" or "he knows foreshadowing when he sees it, the Manor can't hide things from him! Wait, but what if it's a red herring?"

- He can speak English if that's any kind of strength? Might catch obscure references too if the Mansion is feeling pretentious. (also yes he knows what his name sounds like in English, honestly he thinks it's funny)

- He reads and watches a lot of things and he's a spunge when it comes to information, so he knows a lot of random information that seemingly comes from nowhere. "I read about [this and this' once!" you'll hear him exclaim, or "oh I wrote for a [this and this] store once, I know this!"

- He's also really, really good at photobombing. Look, again, you didn't say the skills had to be relevant.

HABITS

- He's constantly framing things like a story. How would this go if he was the author? How would things unfold? Also note to self: remembered this challenge to write it later. At this point if he survives he will 100% write a novel about this lbr. Or at least he'll mean to write a novel about this.

- He tends to keep his thoughts quiet, especially when others are being loud. He gets kind of nervous about interfering but then when he does notice something he either says it once or he just goes for it and tries something without telling everyone else. This is exactly why Sangho keeps a hawk eye on him.

LIKES

- He loves kpop (or for him just pop, he is the k). He's never really grown out of it since his love for writing and fanfics keeps him firmly in place. He loves dissecting mvs and writing about them. He usually puts music shows in the bg when he works from home. His current phone bg is 365's Minjae (he'll never forget the unicorns) but it's prone to changing every week or so. He's an unloyal hoe who likes most groups girl or boy.

- Stories. Any kind. Any medium. He consumes story like someone else might consume cookies, always reading something or watching something or sometimes even playing something. But, honestly, he wouldn't say no to cookies either.

- Sun, he loves the warmth of the sun. Would actually leave his writing den if the day was nice enough.

- Water. He loves swimming and he dearly misses the ocean. He's tried to get Sangho to get over his phobia for ages but that never happened. At least Beomho is a ing swimmer.

DISLIKES

- The dark. It's not that he's a weenie, exactly, but for someone so perceptive it really unnerves him to not be able to see.

- The cold, he really hates being chilly, what is that bull?

- If he has to write one more product description for some cosmetics product he's going to scream.

important people

FAMILY/FRIENDS

SANGHO: They rely on each other and they look out for each other, as they've always done. Beomho is the heart of the two, the positive influence, the one who makes sure Sangho's 'realism' that's drag him into the abyss. Meanwhile Sangho is the one who keeps Beomho tethered to the earth and pulls him back down when he floats too far, and also makes sure the rent gets sent on time so they don't get evicted, no biggie.

It's hard to believe that Sangho is the younger brother most of the time, aside from the fact that he's the shortie. Beomho relies on Sangho for anything common sense or backbone-related. Beomho is still with his head in the clouds and Sangho has never stopped being the one who fights the bullies, the one who has to be firmly with his feet in reality cause god knows one of them has to be. Beomgho dreams while Sangho gets the groceries. Now Beomho is used to relying on Sangho, he doesnt worry much about anything, he's sure everything will be alright, he's never had to worry about things. Beomho will take care of it. He can stand to learn independence and equalize their relationship.

And for the love of god, stop doing things for the other's sake without discussing it goddamnit.

The Wish

WISH: His novel fresh and complete and exactly as he would have written it, with a publishing deal neatly attached.
