the facts.

name — Park Suhan

birthday & age — 21/06/95 (23)

birthplace & hometown — Seoul, SK

ethnicity — Korean

language(s) —
         Korean: Native
English: Decent enough. Your boi listened to a lot of English hip hop and also knew that English words are super cool to insert. A means to an end.

face claim  — Jongup (BAP) [Jihun (KNK)]
appearance — Suhan's face is all angles, it's longer than it has every right to be, with cheekbones for days, and tiny eyes, well, he doesn't mesh well with Korean beauty standards. No amount of plastic surgery was going to fix his face, and ain't nobody have money for that either, so he didn't even bother. Suhan always knew it was his skill that was going to determine his life.

The state of his body varies wildly. With the right incentive he can be made to obsessively work out and get those abs, but he hates working out so usually there's nothing there. If that's the netizen complaint of the day then Suhan will show them what abs are, but otherwise nope Suhan's abs are not home right now.

tyle isn't Suhan's strongest suit, let's just say fashion is not his passion. If allowed to dress himself it'll usually result in jeans and a t-shirt and maybe a sweater if it's cold and that's it. Of course when the netizen complaint of the day turns to his fashion he does put in more effort, asking the help of some of the more fashion concious members or a stylist, but he'll never quite feel comfortable in anything that's not a simple shirt and comfy jeans.

the man.

personality —

*Stares into the camera like it's the office*

Suhan, to put it bluntly, thinks he's better than everyone. Not in the narcisstic way that Jongun does, but in the way that he feels like the group is a joke and he's the only one that's sane, and there is no bigger joke around than Im Jongun. And thus comes the snark. There is nothing Suhan loves more than a good snark, his judging and gossiping can put Regina George to shame honestly. Suhan can never resist the temptation of a sarcastic or snarky comment when it presents itself, not even when he's trying to be two-faced. God it's just so tempting to knock someone down a peg or two, you know? It also doesn't help that this guy is unable to control his face ever. Every eye roll, every mixed look of confusion and disapproval and mid-key disgust, every deadpan glance in whatever camera is around, all of them are easily documented. And boy you best believe there are many. Eyerolls are basically Suhan's resting face.

He's never one to shy away from making himself feel better by ridiculing others, both out loud and in his head. He's constantly weighing his own strengths against the weaknesses of others to make himself feel better. He's obviously a better person than / who doesn't practice as much/ because he's responsible and mature and works hard. One of the members is criticized for his weight while Suhan is in one of his obsessive workout modes? That member is obviously slacking off and not taking things seriously while Suhan is a much better and more committed. He brings himself up by pushing others down, nevermind that during any other time he hates working out too, and nevermind that he's the one getting the most negative comments for not taking care of himself or for failing this and that. Suhan is a damned hypocrite honestly, but hey the powers of delusion are strong in this one.

None of this is helped by the fact that Suhan is not a people person to begin with. He doesn't connect easily with others and is fundamentally self-centered. It takes a while to break through Suhan's distancing, judging, and constant focus on his own problems. He's also pretty bad with interviews and cameras, even when there's nothing coming out of his mouth his face still says it all.

All of this comes from the fact that, as a kid, Suhan had a pretty big inferiority complex. Growing up in periodic poverty and spending most of his evening helping out at the bar instead of going out and doing fun things, Suhan always felt a distanced from the other kids and different. Inferior. He adapted to this by finding reasons why, instead, he was better than them. Some years down the line here we are. Powers of delusion, man. Anything bad that happens to Suhan he just puts on someone else. It's never his fault. Reason why he didn't get into any auditions initially? Definitely because all those companies are close minded and not worth his time anyway. Reason why he hardly ever gets to rap and is stuck singing? Definitely Jongun stealing his thunder, after Suhan was so gracious as to take him under his wing too. Reason why he's the least popular member of the group? Definitely because fans are ing superficial and shallow and only care about looks. Nothing is ever his own fault, nope.

Hey boy are you the dead sea? Because holy that is a lot of salt you're carrying.

Suhan has a seriously obsessive personality, he takes things personally and never lets them go. As much as he tries to brush off netizen and anti comments as shallow and inconsequential, he's the one reading the comments on their videos until 2 in the morning looking for any mention of himself at all. He's the one working out hours a day because this week the antis decided that he's getting too fat, even starving himself to achieve it. Same goes for criticism that comes from the company itself, or from instructors or choreographers or recording technicians. When something gets under his skin he obsesses about it. He just cannot let things go. Ever. And when he obsessed it's all internalized, it's all quiet brooding and fuming and snarky and sarcastic comments and he makes it his job to bring the good mood of others down to his own level of misery.

Similarly Suhan holds a grudge like nobody's business. He fixates on it. Can't for the life of him let it go. And boy oh boy can Suhan get vindictive and petty about it. Exhibit A: Im Jongun. Suhan isn't ever straightforward aggressive, but this guy has passive aggression down to an artform. Eyerolls, snark, subtle pushing in the worst directions, all the while pretending he's totally fine with them. Knowing that Suhan is a terrible actor and an open book, it's not usually hard to see through the fact that Suhan is at least not as fond of you as he pretends, but with the right person and the right level of density it can become an interesting situation indeed. Of course the Jongun situation is more complicated than that, but more on that in the connections section.

Blood, sweat, and mostly more sweat honestly.

Suhan is no stranger to hard work, much of his childhood was hard work after all (in fact, that's one of the things he often feels superior about). He's fairly responsible, in that if you ask him to do something he will see it done to an acceptable degree. He's no saint but he puts in his share of the work and then some. That's not the main motivation of his long hours in the practice room though. Most of it is that obsessive nature of his paired with a need to out-do the others. The fact that he wasn't initially included in the final group really got to him and he has to prove that he can go above and beyond expectations.

Well, that was the reason at first, which then morphed into the fact that netizens love to criticize his every move and he fixates on that. So now when he gets a move wrong he spends the next night making sure he has it perfect, or when he cracks his voice he spends the next morning warming up meticulously and practicing scales. He hates singing, but he hates failing more. God forbid Suhan ever really mess up on stage, he'd never let himself forget it.

While, yes, Suhan is very self-centered most of the time, he does have his moment where he thinks of others. He's likes helping others in his own way, mostly when it doesn't come as an inconvenience to him. He won't go out of his way to see if people need help, but if he sees someone he respects struggling with something then, yeah, he'll help. If anything it makes him feel like he's needed, which is honestly half the reason why he helped Jongun back in the day to begin with.

While he works out and spends a lot of time in that practice room, it's also not that hard to get him out of it honestly. Fun is a thing Suhan likes having too, and it doesn't take much to entice him to go create mischief and just do something more interesting than go over the same choreography over and over and over again, though somewhere in the back of his mind he'll keep having that little voice that says but what if you mess up again? What are you doing sneaking out to go to a bar with Jongun while tomorrow you'll have to perform that same choreography again? You're just gonna mess it up again. You're just going to make a fool out of yourself. The voice remains present, but most of the time he can just ignore it, and then regret everything in the morning.

likes —

— E-Sens, DPR Live, Huckleberry P, MC Sniper, Paboalto, SanE, G2, PType, etc. You know real rappers.

— Drinking and clubbing. He doesn't go crazy like some people, but he does enjoy letting loose a bit. To a non-scandalous degree.

— The Limelight. That bar is as much his baby as it is his parents'. He shameless advertises his parents' bar at every opportunity. Business is a lot better now that hip hop has actually become a, excuse the pun, hip thing, but business can always be better. He's also performed a few times during the rare occassions when there was time, usually unannounced during open mic night. He has hopes to take over the bar once his parents retires and this idol things wears off and he's totally the famous rapper he was meant to be.

— Coffee to fuel the late nights, and kickstart the early mornings. Who needs sleep when coffee exists?

— Making music. He truly thinks being artist and using self-expression is the purest thing a person can do to influence the world around them.

dislikes —

— Pop music. Oh man the superiority complex is strong in this one, Suhan thinks that hip hop is always better. Similarly he has very little respect for idol rappers, and thinks he's better than everyone because he writes his own sincere lyrics. Yes, he's that guy. He doesn't even like his own group's songs most of the time. Also G-Dragon and Zico aren't real rappers either.

— Singing. Come on man he's a rapper, let him rap!

— Working out. It's just so boring. But, with the power of his favourite hip hop beats, he can weather it when netizens light a fire under his .

— The fans, honestly. I mean not even he is stupid enough to admit that, but Suhan really dislikes the vast majority of the fans, and fan culture in general. The ones who are overly entitled, make big deals out of nothing, get bornerline stalkery, those are the ones that give him the jeebies. And that's not even talking about the actual sasaeng fans. Suhan likes his privacy and the fans really don't.

— Interviews and shows and everywhere he needs to talk when things can get recorded. This is not because he inherently dislikes them, but because he always ends up running his mouth too much, or not controlling his active face, and then getting scolded by the company.

funfacts

— He messes up his hair when he gets uncomfortable or awkward, to the annoyance of every coordi noona ever, and then he gets angry with himself for doing it too.

— He's very clean about his personal space and doesn't like clutter. Suhan always cleans up what he uses immediately and keeps his environment tidy. Similarly he loathes it when others mess with his work space. Loathes.

— Suhan has mastered the getting just the right amount of drunk to still be functional and make reasonable decisions while also having a good time. He has also mastered the pretend-drinking to stave off anyone who'd convince him to get drunker. He's only gotten completely smashed 3 times in his life. His first time drinking with some much older rappers at open mic night who'd endulged the lil teen, after he almost got eliminated from Burst, and when they heard they were going to split up the group. He gets smashed when he really just feels like he's in a pit of resentment and he wants to numb the pain and not think of anything and it's not pretty.

— He's always surprised when someone at a fansign tell him he's their bias.

— He's still so awkward with fans, he hates getting stopped in the street or having fans interrupt any kind of personal time he has. He's a very private person and hates the idea of that privacy infringed. Boy did he choose the wrong career option. This also directly conflicts with how salty he is for not having fans, like boy you can't complain about not having fans and then also get annoyed when fans approach you.

— He's basically incapable of fanservice, even him shooting a heart looks awkward and forced. He's always the one at fansigns looking like he really doesn't want to be there.

— He really wants to create a mixtape. He'd also be way too honest and personal about the industry and everything else going on in his life on said mixtape, which is probably why the company is hesitant to give him perfmission. Still with the right incentive he might not ask for permission someday.

— He's aual, though not really aware of it. Honestly he really doesn't get how Jongun is so ually active like meh he's got little interest. Talk to him about music and rap instead please.

— Because of his noseyness and penchant towards gossip, Suhan knows a lot things both true and untrue about his group and idols in general. He hears a lot through the grape vine and takes satisfaction out of most of it.

the story.

background — Suhan grew up surrounded by hiphop. His parents ran a bar in Itaewon called the Limelight that regularly held open mics or invited local hip hop artists to perform. His memories are filled with listening to great rap, of hanging out with local talent in the off hours, of jokingly trying to copy their raps while his mom taped it and everyone laughed.

That joking copying turned into an actual interest in the art. Suhan started practicing, and he befriended quite a few of the underground rappers who came to the open mic sessions as that adorable kid who tries way too hard. The kid doing the dishes and rapping along with familiar performances so loud it could be heard in the bar. When he was 14 he first got the courage to perform during the open mic himself, and of course he was awful at first, but if Suhan didn't have the perfect environment to learn and improve then who did?

Times weren't always easy. The bar wasn't always lucrative and there were times that were very tough on them financially. Mortgages had to be paid, bars kept in stock, food put on the table. There were times where anything else was a luxury they couldn't really afford. Suhan has worn his fair share of charity shop clothes, worked more than his fair share of hours helping at the bar, mostly doing dishes but when he got older he's done some bartending as well.  Suhan knows what it's like to work hard and struggle.

It was at the bar that he met the one who would become his best friend: Im Jongun. Fresh out of a bankrupted entertainment company and had been attracted to one of the open mic nights and one thing lead to another. Suhan took it upon himself to show him the world that was actual Korean hip hop while in turn Jongun got Suhan to let loose every once in a while and kept him from locking himself up in a practice room to train for all eternity. Jongun was the one who wanted to do SMTM, Suhan would've been content not to go to what he considered was a fake show bringing authentic hip hop to the main stream and cheapening it that way, but he let himself get dragged along anyway. Suhan only got through a few rounds but Jongun got quite far... not without Suhan's help. You see Jongun had a habit of taking Suhan's discarded ideas and using them himself, and when Suhan got eliminated for his lacklustre delivery and Jongun proceeded and Suhan kept helping him too because he was his bestie, of course he helped him.

Once SMTM was over and Jongun had a taste for fame he obviously wanted to keep going the idol route for maximum es and money. Suhan took a while to convince (es did little for him) but the money bit was too much to pass up despite his hipster views on what hip hop was. Capitalism wins out sometimes. He auditioned to P.S. alongside Jongun and thankfully he got in and then they were trainees together! Nothing could go wrong now, right?

CONNECTIONS —

▪ Im Jongun | Best Frenemy | It's.... complicated. They used to be great friends, besties if you will. Jongun got through Suhan's stick in the mud tendencies and forced him to let loose and have fun, while Suhan's responsible and mroe low-key natured reigned in some of Jongun's crazy stupidity. But then everything changed when the firenation attacked the competitive nature of the idol industry and Jong's own constant mooching of ideas and popularity imbalance caught up with them. The fact that Jongun basically got to the top of the food chain by what Suhan perceives as using him and the knowledge that Suhan never ever actually looks at himself for an answer to his own misfortunes, well, you can see where this is going. Suhan resents Jongun for a lot of things. For surpassing Suhan. For being the only reason he made it into the group. For being a bona fide rapper while half the time Suhan is reduced to singing. Etc etc you name it. There is a lot of resentment and salt and bitterness in this guy.

With Suhan's penchant for obsession and fixation, he's not going to let that go ever, but he's always been passive baout his aggressions and Jongun is too dumb to notice. Jongun still thinks they are besties just like before and Suhan is content to let him think that but in the mean time he's going to enact his petty little vengeances. Interactions with Jongun usually include sarcasm and snark and little underhanded insults that fly right over Jongun's head, mixed with two-faced broship. And, depending on his levels of frustration and resentment, encouraging the worst behaviour in Jongun.

It started off small, pushing Jongun in the wrong direction without inviting total ruin. Suhan didn't start out a monster, that tends to happen gradually as he got more and more frustrated with the pen that the company had pushed him into, as more and more he got known for his vocals not his rap while Jongun thrived. More and more Suhan's steering pushes Jongun into worse and worse directions all the while holding the phone and taking the instagram shots. Suhan is the dirty enabler holding his knife behind his back and smiling at Jongun, waiting for an opportunity. ing with Jongun became a way for Suhan to vent his frustrations and there is a very fragile balance between ing with him just enough and going too far.

But he still considers Jongun a friend. I told you it's complicated. Suhan still sincerely likes spending time with Jongun a lot of the time. If you asked Suhan who his best friend was he'd instantly point to Jongun. Jongun is still the one who drags him around to have fun, sometimes very reluctantly on Suhan's part, and he always has a blast even if it's just inwardly ridiculing everything Jongun says and does. He's always down for chilling with Jongun, or getting up to no good with Jongun (though it's usually Suhan being a thousand times more restrained than Jongun), but also in a "would throw under a bus at any opportunity" kind of way. They're... complicated.

love INTEREST —

▪ Ace bby has enough problems without that headache.

the idol.

position — Vocalist, rapper (regrettably in that order)

singing twin Kyung  (Hanhae)

rapping twin —  Kyung (Hanhae)
dancing twin —  Kyung (Hanhae)

(It was so hard to think of a rapper who mostly sings but eeeyy thank you Block B for being Zico and the boys and forcing Kyung to sing. Let it be known it's Kyung in skill not in subject matter dear god he's so cheesy)

trainee history —  Training... , honestly. Suhan is not someone who deals with criticism well, after all, and this really isn't the industry for him in that case, but here he is anyway! Training also put real strain on his friendship with Jongun as suddenly a real competitive element was introduced. He was a bit salty about the SMTM thing, but not as salty as he was about Jongun being a known face at the company and Suhan an afterthought, which he obviously blames Jongun for. He had a rough time training.

He almost didn't make it into Burst at all, the company was second-guessing keeping him in. They already had enough rappers, and did they really need another vocalist? Sure, Suhan was the best song writer/composer they had, but how much worth was that really in an idol group? And it wasn't like he was visual material. In the end he got in by the skin of his teeth because an odd number was easier to choreograph for and he'd help keep Jongun in line (or so they thought). Oh boy did he feel the disrespect of that

solo work —  *Suhan looks into the camera like it's the office*

He's wanted a solo for ages. Basically since he started this whole idol thing. He doesn't really care for the group, honestly, and just cares for what it can bring him. And, here's the thing, the whole Jongun copycat thing didn't stop at the P.S. door either, if anything it was encouraged by P.S. There were multiple times where management told him to write a rap break and he was like yes I finally get to rap! And then they took that break and they gave it to Jongun instead and said "let's go over your singing lines, Suhan."

The final drop was a song that he'd written for himself called I Am You, You Are Me, one of the very rare vocal-oriented songs he worked on. It was more R&B which was hip hop adjacent and he'd that this cool idea for this cool parallelism story and if they were going to make him sing might as well use it to his advantage right? The company heard the song, was into it, briefly considered letting Suhan go solo, and then decided to give it to Jongun instead. God, the salt is real.

confidences —  He knows he's best at the actual creative department. He's an excellent writer and very clever with his wordplay and imagery and he's been getting more and more into composing and beat creation too. He's probably the best writer that the group has. Rap-wise his flow is decent, it's not where his strength lies but he's competent enough. Not that he actually thinks tht himself, of course. That would mean realizing his own limitations and hahahahhaha cute.

insecurities —  Honestly he's always blaming his lack of fans on his face or lack of opportunities, but it's mostly the fact that he's got about as much charisma as a street tile. He's brilliant, creative, that much is true, but he lacks the presence to back that up, and when you're on stage your presence is really all that matters.

Suhan really doesn't like singing, and it was basically forced onto him. He has a naturally pleasant voice and good pitch and his breath control comes from being a rapper, but he has hardly any vocal training at all. He's prone to straining and cracking. His dancing isn't that great either mostly because it interests him even less than singing. At least you're still conveying a message with singing, dancing is just moving your body (many dancers might argue with you there, Suhan). As it stands he just does the bare minimum. Until a comment he reads on a youtube video criticizes him for his dancing of course.

you're in a 13 member group. has this ever bothered you? — Suhan rolls hos eyes. "Wow, what kind of question is that. You imagine being in a small dorm with 12 other people. Constantly. While you're at it why don't you imagine getting only a sliver of lines, too? You know what's also fun to imagine? Working tirelessly day after day to become the best rapper you can be and to be delegated to vocalist half the time because the other rappers can't carry a note and I guess we can't all have BTS' 50% rap can we? Because that wouldn't see of course." Suhan looks into the camera like it's the office (if there is none then he will pretend there is). "Wow I do wonder if being in a 13 member has ever rubbed me the wrong way. Do you?"

do you think yourself better or worse than the other members that share your position? — "And which position is that? The rap or the vocalist?" he says bitterly, with much bitterness, looking bitter, probably tasting bitterness in his mouth at that exact momeny. "Jongun is an idiot who can't even write his own raps with any kind of quality, Gosaeng confused turkey the bird with turkey the country just last week, and I haven't even started about the others. They should let me ing rap. They should let me rap my own ing raps."

did you involve yourself in any physical altercations? — Suhan rolls his eyes again. It's a familiar look on him. "Please, I'm better than instigating that myself, but you know others aren't don't have quite the... restraint... that I do."

in group arguments, do you prefer to speak your mind or stay quiet? — "I mostly just look into the camera and wait for God to save me from everyone else's stupidity." In reality he's mostly passive aggressive and sarcastic, with a good dose of eyerolls. It's not his fault that others can't handle that. Whatever. It's not his job to care for other people's fragile egos.

you have a chance to start over somewhat in this new unit group. what changes will you make to yourself, if any? — "I'll rap if I have any say in it," he says. "It's about time people recognize my actual skill."

the end.

comments/suggestions — Blue this is... not exactly what I had in mind at first I know but I got the familiar gang together (kattirompa, jey-chan, and formidame) and one thing lead to some old friends who are sure to shake up any group they're in. Agh I'm sorry for more rappers but this is really the only way to pull of this toxic copycat frenemies dynamic that they have. If it doesn't fit I always turn Gosaeng into a dancer!

scene request — Just have fun with the he is and get this boi some character development, be it positive or negative.

password — Totally depends. If he gets to rap: instant favourite song. If not: hate the song, it's the worst, it's garbage, that . Wait no, he likes Don't Wanna Cry but only because everyone has to sing. Take THAT, ers! And he's better than Jongun at that too so that's score.
