APPEARANCE Kyunghee is... a tall boy. He juuust about skirts 1.90cm, he's a very tall boy. He's all limbs, like the rest of his body never did fill out to compensate for those limbs, giving him a permanently awkward and lanky appearance. It's like where does all that limb go? What does he do with all that limb? Even his face is awkwardly long, it's like every bit of his body is elongated and none of it fits together well. Thankfully all of that disappears when he starts dancing and everything just works and you wonder where did the awkward go? But as soon as he stops dancing it's like oh lordy there's the awkward again yep.
STYLE His style is clothes, really. Kyunghee isn't a fashionable boy at all, not on his own. He usually wears jeans and a graphic tee and a hoodie. Thankfully there are stylists to save him from himself.

PERSONALITY
Kyunghee is a sweetheart, this cannot be denied. He's one of those rare people who is always genuinely interested in what's going on in everyone's lives, always asking the people around him what they've been up to and wanting to know how they're doing which usually gets him many acquaintainces. He's also extremely curious, he's the annoying guy always going "but why?" when there's something he doesn't understand or "what's that" when there's something he doesn't know, and he flits from curiosity to curiosity. Kyunghee has this unquenchable curiosity in the world, he wants to see it all, experience it all, but when he can't experience it himself then accounts will have to suffice. Of course this curiosity can end up coming off as rather nosy, he's always getting into everyone's business and not everyone appreciates their business being gotten into. Kyunghee doesn't get that though he just does his thing, he asks his questions, it can annoy the people around him. If you want him to shut up then you'll just have to give him what he wants or tell him to shut up.
Kyunghee always tries to please everyone, he honestly just really really wants people to like him, but he can't suppress that curiosity or the tendency to blab when he gets nervous, and Kyunghee can be a bit of a basket of nerves. This eager to please part of him means he gets dragged into everyone else's mischief way too easily and has a tendency of getting into trouble that way (See: Yunseong). He's a bit of an immature thing himself, definitely still a child despite leaving his teenage year behind him. He's the kind to just start getting up to weird things when there's nothing going on, he's really bad at doing nothing. He'll start taking weird pictures or making weird faces, or just ask people questions to fill the silence (see: the icons).
His adventurous side clashes against his ever present nerves almost daily. Kyunghee wants to experience things, he wants to see the world, but he's constantly held back by insecurities and anxieties, and then he starts talking faster and faster. There are many things that can make Kyunghee nervous, he suffers from low key anxiety, especially in social situations. He's scared of being annoying, of debuting again and flopping like last time, of doing things that he shouldn't do and getting caught, of messing up on stage, of cracking his singing notes especially, etc. It doesn't matter that he's done the whole idol shebang before, it doesn't make him any less nervous.
Kyunghee gets really shy about specific things. He has no problems approaching new people and talking and such, but he gets really emberassed about his body or about his shady past as a nugu boyband member, and please don't give him compliments he gets so red and emberrassed omg. He really hates showing off his body, he hates wearing shorts because there always ends up more leg showing than he's comfortable with (and he's not comfortable with much leg to begin with and with all the leg he's got any shorts show too much leg). He feels he's too lanky, and too thin, and too awkward, and you name it. He's just really not very comfortable with the way he looks. Even compliments about something that he is pretty comfortable with, like his dancing and rapping skill, will get him bashful and flushed and noooo please go pay attention to another group member and leave him be.
Overall Kyunghee is simply someone with a dreams trying to stumble towards it but it's absolutely terrifying to do that, to put yourself out there like that. It scares the bajeebies out of him. He's braver than he thinks he is, though, even if he'd deny that at every turn ("How can someone as scared as me be brave?"). He's here, he's trying, no matter how nervously or how fearfully that trying is. Kyunghee has to find the strength that's hidden within himself and learn to trust both himself and others. Until he does that he's going to remain this easily swayed nervous shy boy, but that is much easier said than done. How do you find your confidence when you have insecurities the size of Mt. Fuji? Kyunghee will have to find out.
BACKGROUND Kyunghee has always loved pop music. He was one of those kids who was glued to the television screen watching performances of his faves with eyes like saucers and trying to copy their moves. His parents still have a video of lil Kyunghee trying to dance to Shinhwa's Perfect Man and failing and it'd adorable. While many, many other Korean kids learned how to play piano or other instruments when they were little, Kyunghee begged for dance lessons instead and you better believe he used those dance lessons to learn all the dances of his faves.
He always knew that he wanted to be an idol. Kyunghee looked up to these old groups so much as role models and he wanted to be just like them. He started doing auditions when he was 10 years old. His parents were cautiously supportive and surveyed the contracts and companies closely. Kyunghee wanted to go for SM at first but his parents noped on that immediately. Smaller companies tended to have shorter contracts and they knew a 10 year old kid shouldn't be signing a 10 year long contract so smaller companies it was. Not that it mattered much, he didn't get a callback from any of them. Smaller companies didn't exactly want a 10 year old baby to deal with. But Kyunghee wasn't discouraged. He knew his dancing was quite good, he'd get there eventually.
Then two years later he tried again, going to progressively smaller and more nugu companies and eventually got picked up by this ty little company that was just starting up and we're putting together a 5 member boy group called Seoulm8 (yeah). Kyunghee was smol and cute (and also one of not many kids who auditioned) with good skills and so he was signed, a small contract of 4 years (after lawyer mom was through with it, it was supposed to be way longer). They probably would not have put up with the contract shortening if they had better alternatives and his mom so terrifying, honestly.
So he trained for a year with the other four kids, the company had like a single floor in a bigger building but it was enough. They also stayed in a dorm together which was basically a ty kitchen and a tiny bedroom without furniture where a 5 slept on the floor together. Then they get their song and it's pretty bad but it's their debut song and the company tells them that if it does well they'll get a better song next time. So okay they do the thing, they learn the dance (which is awful too but Kyunghee goes with it), they shoot the MV. At this point Kyunghee is just so filled with hope, he's this 15 year old kid who's gonna live his dreams! He's doing it!
And it flops. Of course it flops, it's 2013 and there is an influx of rookies and nobody pays any attention to the rookies with the awful song and awful dance and awful styling. They get to perform it live about 5 times, of which 4 were shortened because the shows needed the time for better and more establed groups. The company went bankrupt a year later and Kyunghee was back in the real world.
Now many people would get discouraged. Not Kyunghee, not even when kids in his class were being about the whole Okay About It thing. He just kept up his practice and was determined to try again. Maybe not immediately, let the dust settle on that awful song of theirs, but soon he would try again. Meanwhile he focused on his studies and on gitting gud at singing. Then he started auditioning again and wouldn't you know it? A little company called BBC had interest!
TRIVIA
Sharks — He loves them. So much. So. Much. He really wants to donate to help the conservation of sharks when he starts to make money.
Dance covers — You know that thing where he leared how to dance just to cover his faves? That never stopped. Kyunghee has a youtube channel where he posts dance covers usually with a facemask so people don't know it's him (this was first because OK bout it and then because BBC didn't know about it. His favourite artists to cover (and listen to) are SHINee (Taemin specifically, hello dance god), EXO, BTS (omg omg they're so cool!), Shinhwa (#loyalty through the ages), f(x) (he's covered Nu ABO and 4Walls, gender be damned), and SNSD (yes he's covered Gee before. Let's just say he was very glad to have a facemask then but he loves them). Hey he didn't audition to SM first for nothing.
Sun — He loves basking in it even when he knows he'll get admonished for it if caught. But it feels so good on his skin and of course he forgot to put on sunscreen again.
Basketball — Of course someone his height got roped into playing basketball and he actually really liked it. He had to quit his school team when he started idol training again but he still likes to shoot some hoops when he can.
Dancing King — It's his thing, his passion. Popping and locking is the name of game, they're his specialty, but he's been trained in both hip hop and contemporary and street dance. How do those limbs work so well while dancing, but are so awkward when not??? Nobody knows.
Nerves — Not only does he talk when he's nervous, but he also fidgets. A lot.
Dancing Peasant — When he's doing menial tasks Kyunghee likes to amuse himself by dancing while doing it. It makes even cleaning more fun. Hello microphone stand-mop, do some leaps to get from one countertop to the next, get low get low get low to grab something from the bottom cupboard~
OK BOUT IT — Yes he still knows the dance to OK ABOUT IT. You're gonna need some serious dirt to get him to do it though.

Dancing... Jester? — Leave him alone in the practice room for 5 minutes and he'll start making stupid silly dances. This kid CANNOT sit still.
Good morning! — He's a morning person. Honestly it's impossible to find Kyunghee moody, he's cheerful even in the early mornings. Groggy, but cheerful.
Animal whisperer or Kyunghee whisperers? — He usually attracts animals, often s lose him because three blocks back a cat approached him and he's been petting it for like 10 minutes now but when he stops it gives him this look and he just- he's weak.
Dancing Queen — Kyunghee really likes doing girl group dances but he gets embarrassed about them if others are around. He has a lot of them on his youtube acount but that's when he's wearing the face mask. He knows very very very many dances.
ONE — Kyunghee doesn't like his song that much, he wishes he'd gotten a brigher and more fun song but the company decided he should be angsty and dark instead and he doesn't understand it.
Instruments— Like 80% of Korea, Kyunghee's parents made him learn piano since he was young and he's fairly good at it. He also knows how to play guitar, taught by one of his former group mates and something he kept going.

Minja is a frightening woman, she's got laser-sharp focus and a near infallible bull radar. Minja will see through your and Minja will shame you for your . She's an incredibly good lawyer because of it, and also because she's stubborn and never gives up. When Minja has her sights on something she will get it. Period. She's very protective of Kyunghee especially when it comes to the entertainment industry and you better believe she checked every inch of that contract and modified it to the best of her ability. Woe is anyone at the other end of her lawyer skills and yes she has offered her services for anything involved Kyunghee.

Namhyun is the exact opposite of Minja and is often the excessive chill to her absolutely no chill. He's an author but he's never been able to find much success and Minja is the min breadwinner of the family. Where Minja is intense and terrifying, Namhyun is friendly and laid-back, and they work perfectly together.
Kyunghee loves them both and whle both of his parents can be incredibly emberassing in their own way ("mom please stop threatening to sue everyone who posts hateful comments please, and dad please stop telling emberassing childhood stories- put the video of me dancing to Perfect Man away oh my god") he loves them very much.

Was a member in an awful tiny nugu group called Seoulm8 under the stage name Rex, and looked horrible while doing so and please stop mentioning the perm oh my god.
This was their debut song. Yes that is a ladies' blouse. Yes those are fake leather short. Yes that looks like the lamest party ever. Yes they went crazy, crazy, all the way, bottom's up. No he is nOT OKAY ABOUT IT.
Wait you haven't had enough you say? You need more blackmail material? WELL here is a live performance for you my friend. Yes they're dressed in all pink outfits and one of them has a giant backpack for no reason.
Kyunghee doesn't mention this to anyone. EVER. He wants to forget it ever happened but for some reason people keep stumbling on it and reconizing him and YEP the video is passed around the company. YEP he debuted and the fans got wind of it. He is never living it down. come on guys he was 14.
HEADLINES Seoulm8 should have been so lucky as to get any press. As for the future, that's up to you entirely. Does his shady past as a nugu boyband member remain kpop's best kept secret? PERSONALITY Rana is a producer who often works for BBC. She's American-born, but when to Korea to seek her fortune making both your ear worms and your hipster rnb or hip hop songs (she'd know if it were up to her but she knows what pays the bills). On again off again in-house producer, she can often be found in a little office bent over her laptop or her guitar or her keyboard or soundboard. Whatever it is, she's probably bent over it in an almost whimsicle mad scientist way. She's a hot mess on a good day, but she produces results.
Rana wants the world to listen to her music, but for now BBC fans will have to suffice. She's generally a chill person, she can often be seen eating a worrying amount of instant noodles during long nights in the studio while rambling about her various projects or muttering to herself about what this or that song needs. What's work-life balance? Rana sure hasn't been able to figure it out.
She's also in charge of coaching the BBC artists during recordings and she's known to be an absolute nightmare. Rana only accepts perfection and will make you sing the same song over and over and over and over again if she must to get that one perfect recording. She can be very direct in her comments, she takes on prisoners and does not care about saving someone's ego. She will be what she thinks is fair in her critique so that you learn, and if you don't you'll hear from her.
LOVE STORY Calling it a love story is doing it too much credit. Kyunghee met her once by chance and he instantly thought she was super cool with her tomboy look and snapback and tattoos and style wow. She was the coolest woman he'd ever seen and he wanted to befriend her so much. She... didn't really take notice of him, honestly. It's something between a puppy crush and a real crush. Kyunghee's got a crush on the idea of Rana put on a pedestal. He's basically like senpai notice me.
INTERACTIONS Right now Kyunghee kind of imposes himself on Rana. It started with him mid-key following her around and asking if he could watch her work and her waving him away but not explisitely saying no which was all Kyunghee needed. He was curious about how she works and what she's like. At first she just ignored him and worked, but as she got used to him she started using him as an idea soundboard, 'talking' to him about her work just to hear her ideas out loud and answer her own questions. Then she started putting him to work, if he was here anyway might as well take a seat behind the keyboard and play this, or grab that guitar and play that. He was an extra pair of hand who always ready to help even if he shouldn't be here and there'd be an exhasperated manager looking for him an hour later.

ENDING — Definitely nothing romantic. She's way older than him and so not interested, and he's not even properly crushing on her as an actual person anyway, but they could grow to be good friends.
