alright, meet, kai. he's a huge, and i mean huge, nerd with a talent for making others snort all throughout the day, clever puns (only he thinks so), and building things (digital or physical) from nothing because he's a genius. he's a little lame, and definitely awkward, but it's kind of endearing so you can't help but put up with him. friendly but not?? like he welcomes friendships that come his way with a smile but he's not willing to actively seek them out due to fear of rejection bc of past out-casting he experienced. anywho. rambling and laughing at his own jokes (a little too hard) is something that happens often with him so be prepared, and have those headphones and earplugs of yours. unless, y'know, you want your ear talked off. there's times where he can come off a lot bit cocky bc of his extensive knowledge but he isn't the type to rub it in or belittle others because of it. no, kai is a pretty tactful and considerate person. he can't stand seeing others upset. with that said, don't expect him to to try to cheer anyone up either. he's terrible with helping others as far as problems  and advice go. also refrain from asking him to do stuff as well. kai, isn't the most responsible unless it has to do with video games, his favorite books, and building tech stuff.  

tidbits ; talk nerdy to me. enfp??only in some aspects tho. ignores all real responsibilities lol. not really affectionate? like it's not like he'll avoid it. he just isn't (that makes no sense). he just won't activiely seek someone else out.what is smooth and charming??is it a food? kai knows neither.

kai left canada and moved to south korea when he was  only seven years old. his love for video games and building  came after he moved to south korea. his uncle owned a shop that fixed just about anything technical. he spent most of his time in that shop. kai's knowledge about coding, gaming, and building was taught to him by his uncle until he furthered it on his own. when the man died when he was 12,  the devastation he felt. kai took home mostly all his uncles books and unfinished tinkers to cope.

before the iota club, and after the death of his uncle, kai has mostly been by himself. always being the weird nerdy foreign kid who talked too much. he ate his lunch alone in the classroom or the library and spent his after school hours at the arcade, or at home studying or tinkering with something. when he wanted someone to talk to he'd conversant with the teachers (until they kicked him out). the only time he felt the loneliness vanish from him was during the young builders competitions that happened every year. he was surrounded by people who liked the same things as him. sadly, those people hated him, he was an enemy after all. but it still made him feel less out-casted.

now, kai has less days to spend alone. he has friends who accept him (though still clearly get tired of him) and the feeling of being an outsider has vanished (nearly). when he isn't at his own home talking to game characters who can't hear him he's at a friend's house talking to game characters who can't hear him. his parents normally aren't home in the afternoons til midnight because of their jobs.

. the type that laughs at his own puns and jokes.sometimes he doesn't even get to finish the pun or joke bc he's laughing too hard.

.  has a black cat with grey eyes name moonshine. he's a very mysterious cat who can only be seen at night (can be found in dark places like under kai's bed)
. while others carries a necklace or an old watch their important ones have given them, kai carries around his first nintendo(given to him by his uncle) everywhere as his charm.
. unlike his friends, kai doesn't discriminate about pc games so if ur a pc gamer and you wanna talk about them then ur best shot is going to kai.
. he absolutely loves spicy food even though the dweeb can't handle it.
. despises winter bc of the snow and the coldness. hates being cold (cause he get's cold easily) and hates the snow (it's hard to walk in and it's cold).

kai doesn't remember exactly how he befriended yulyeong (despite his good memory), he just remembers the feeling and why. it had to do with video games, naturally. he felt utter happiness that she knew what game he was talking about and didn't completely freak out or call him a loser when he showed her his pokemon card collection. he's probably the most appreciative towards her and her mom like qualities. he doesn't have any siblings so he sees her as one.

 

yao, xiaodan.

basically met xiaodan the day of her transfer and made an idiot of himself. another girl who doesn't think he's a complete weirdo. contributes to his pokemon collection whenever she finds a card he doesn't have. may or may not have a huge crush on her. get's awkward around her when they aren't talking about anything video game or tech related. stares at her when she isn't looking then hurriedly tries to preoccupy when she catches him. he's a lame. okay even more lame around her. wants to get to know her but is highkey shy so he doesn't. also he may not want to come off as some sort of creep.
