↳ a cutie; that's probably the best description you can give ahreum. she's not exactly a goddess, but her looks are above average - enough to make you do a double take on her. in all honesty, she knows all the stares given to her and even though she's not one to flaunt about it, it's a fact that she's proud of her face (she thanks her parents everyday). nothing on her face has been touched, but her hair is definitely not a . ever since she entered high school (after signing with m&h), she got to learn about these different crazy hair colors, and as a result of curiosity and fascination, she has tried various shades before (namely red, pink and bright blonde). her stylists decided that she stays with her original shade so auburn it is for produce 101.

FASHION:

       
↳ casual wear: ahreum loves loves loves simple yet cute clothes like plain shirts and blouses with writings on them (she's a er for those), and she also likes wearing washed out jeans and the likes. like most girls, she chooses comfort over style, meaning she doesn't sacrifice for beauty. overall she's more conservative rather than provocative, and you can usually find her wearing suitable clothes for the season. (fun fact: she loves cute skirts - all kinds of them; plaid, skater, pencil, just wearing it makes her feel pretty)


   
↳ practice: it was aforementioned that ahreum is more of a "idc-if-im-judged" kind of dresser than a "idc-if-i-die" kind that prefers style over comfort. since ahreum doesn't have a lot of sweats (another fun fact: she's stingy when it comes to clothes [except for cute ones!!!] although she's stinking rich), she (another fact/secret [but dirty this time]) reuses her sweats often and doesn't buy except when needed. she owns only 3-4 pairs so she uses one pair two times every week. sometimes when it's really needed (if she can't reuse her sweats for some reason), she's forced to sacrifice one pair of her beloved shorts (comfy ones).
 
        
↳ on stage: (stylists' picks) the coordi-unnies usually give ahreum crop-tops because they know that ahreum's abdomen is lean. also knowing that she's a big skirt fan, whatever the concept, the stylists make her wear her beloved skirts (but not that they're forcing her to - it's probably even the way around). for that reason, they rarely give her leggings or tights to wear because her height is a bit short compared to others (and also a teeny-tiny bit because of her skirt-obsession).

↳ scrupulous: first and foremost, what really describes ahreum as a person are her ethics. because she knows how to differentiate what is wrong from right, she makes use of her knowledge to give righteousness light. because she really hates feeling sick to the stomach (guilt), she grew up giving attention to moral acts.

❝ (in her previous company) we don't care about your wellbeing. if you're going to complain, then why be an idol? practice until next week. nobody's allowed to rest. we are going to send our people to your families if you continue to complain. then we can find out then who the powerful and the powerless are. ahreum's eyes well up in a mixture of tiredness, hurt and worry as she remembers the words of the company president two days earlier. this isn't right at all. they're blackmailing us and trapping us here. they have the right to order us, but even so... we're still humans who get tired and hurt. they can't do this to us. this isn't right. ahreum closes her eyes, and a tear manages to escape them, cascading down her face.

even though my training career is going to end because of this, i can't let this pass like this. i need to do something to set this right. ❞

↳ debonair: when people first see ahreum, they probably assume that her character is somewhat soft and refined. true to her exterior, ahreum's nature is quite welcoming. ahreum is that picturesque girl you would hate on but love anyway because of her gracefulness (like the she's-too-perfect-ugh-why-is-the-world-so-unfair kind of girl). she's that one person you don't want to touch because she seems like she's gonna break with one push of your rough finger.

❝ "okay, let's take a break." the choreographer says, and immediately everyone falls to the floor because of tiredness. all of the trainees are sweating profusely, but there's ahreum who's softly patting her forehead with her (equally soft) handkerchief. she looks relaxed (& fresh) as she sits against the wall of the practice room. everybody seems to be sweating like a pig and making out a fuss of the heat, but ahreum looks like she's not in summer (how can one sit so gracefully on the floor and not swEAt after that much practice. how!!!).❞

↳ philanthropic: as if being scrupulous is not enough, ahreum also had to be charitable (the world is unfair my friends). whenever she earns a little (and has free time), she likes donating them to charity.

❝ "unnie." someone tugs ahreum's cardigan, and she stops in her tracks and looks back to see a small girl. "unnie, please help me." the girl whimpers, and ahreum softens as she gives the child the wrapped burger that was previously in her hold. "here." she reaches out in her pocket to give the small girl some leftover cash. "even though things may seem hard now, it will brighten up later. okay? remember this to become better and cooler when you grow up. take care, goma-ya (small girl)." ❞

↳ culpable: the type to feel responsible for every little thing she has done, ahreum immediately acts upon her mistakes. although not always in the wrong, there are some things that she does that are "bad" (honestly this is not uncommon for trainees). she does her best in tending to these said mistakes so that she's able to become a better version of herself.

❝ "yah, kim yerim." at the name of her friend, ahreum's head snaps up. she sees the said trainee cowering under the gaze of a senior. "i said to fix your habit of using your head voice for this part, didn't i? why didn't you fix it?" the senior scolded. "i..." her friend bit her lip. "...sunbae, i'm sorry. it was my fault." ahreum spoke up. under the burning gaze of the senior, she's a little scared but she continues to say, "i dragged yerim into eating with me instead of practicing. i'm sorry, sunbae. i won't intervene next time." ❞

↳ tolerant: ahreum is absolutely patient and open-minded when it comes to issues with tolerance. one who is steadfast and strong-willed about problems and hardships that come her way, she literally makes lemonade when life throws her lemons.

❝ahreum's heart breaks for the umpteenth time when she remembers the words that made her so happy exactly last week. "you're going to debut." now, this very sentence is what's making her want to throw up and hide in a hole until she starves and dies. words that are always uttered but ultimately cancelled - she should have known by now. but she still chose to believe foolishly.

ahreum uses her trembling hand to wipe the remaining tears in her eyes. no, i'm going to make this work. i'm going to show them, she swears silently, standing up to play the music.❞

↳ submissive: as much as ahreum seems to be perfect, there are many attributes that make her just as tainted. usually the type to feel responsible, she unintentionally becomes painfully obedient to others (specifically, the 'older' and 'better' trainees&trainers). she's almost gullible as she lets herself be under the control of others, but even though she knows they're using her, she lets it go when she knows it will get her to a bad position.

❝ "yah, joo ahreum." ahreum's head snaps up as she hears her name, and she greets the older trainee respectfully. "you spilled your soda on me last week, didn't you? for payment," the trainee secretly smirks, "clean my shoes for me, will you?" she asks, and ahreum's lips press together thinly for a very brief moment before she takes the older trainee's shoes.❞

↳ presumptious: ahreum unintentionally comes off as a know-it-all or one who sticks his nose into another's business, all because of her assuming nature. since she's one who observes rather than confront, she can't help but slip out what she just sees. it puts her to a bad position sometimes, but it really is just in her nature.

❝is ong dating her? ahreum curiously wonders as she stares at his laughing form across the practice room. one of the girl trainees tells him something and slaps his shoulder, and ahreum sees sungwoo smile fondly at the girl. she looks at their hands that are just inches from each other, and she tilts her head, slightly smiling. oh well, they do suit each other.❞

↳ mawkish: no matter how much ahreum seems to be strong, she's truthfully weak in an emotional sense. she's the type to be easily hurt but still tries to think in a positive way, but is nevertheless feeble. ahreum looks and actually is a soft person; one who is like glass - somebody trying to appear strong but is noticeably delicate.

❝"unnie, you look so weird in that!" one of the younger girl trainees exclaim, laughing as she points ahreum's bright yellow shorts. the girls in the practice room chuckle with her, and ahreum's ears turn red. she laughs it off with them, but a tinge of ache wiggles its way inside her, making her slightly uncomfortable.❞

↳ resolute: quite obviously, ahreum's character seems to be that of a steadfast one. it was mentioned before that she's determined to be strong-willed about her hardships in life. she hates giving up when she knows she can do something and succeed at it.

❝ in a nutshell: ahreum is literally a marshmallow - she doesn't like hurting anybody and stands up for what is wrong when she knows she has a chance, but endures when she knows she doesn't. she's personally really soft, so anybody can just come up to her and talk to her and ask her some things and she won't be angry. in fact, she's the type to have a really kind smile on her face, so you can't really hate her. she's that super delicate and graceful girl you don't want to touch because you think you're going to dirty her. you'll want to protect her because she's too soft for her own good, but not in a gullible/very innocent/foolish way. but it doesn't really mean she's not mean (not seriously) and doesn't joke around. she's the observer in the bunch, but fools around at unexpected times.❞

BACKGROUND:
↳ starting early in the morning: unlike most trainees, ahreum was born with a silver spoon in . she who from childhood was given all that she ever wanted and asked without regarding the fact that she already had everything. ahreum, to simplify, was spoiled to the moon and back. like most rich kids' families, her parents made up for their absence and lack of time by buying her love with money. ahreum was lonely as a child, but despite growing up without her parents' guidance, she became a teenager who found solace in giving to others. she was often accompanied by her many caretakers to the playground when she was a child, and she always saw the orphanage across. ahreum, clutching her doll in her small grasp, first met compassion upon seeing a lone orphan crying by the trees of the playground. from then on, although she was alone in terms of family, she found comfort and company in that orphanage.

↳ i awkwardly umm: ahreum is the type of student who says 'no, i couldn't study much' but nevertheless tops the test. she is pretty humble, and trust me when i say that she never means to lie when she says 'i think i'm going to fail huhu' or 'i really couldn't review for this'. she only says what she honestly feels and just thinks that maybe luck is always on her side to prove her wrong. after entering her previous company (you can create a random name for it hehe) and even after entering her current company m&h, ahreum still finds the time to review in-between practices. she always carries a book or review material with her so even when she's eating, she's memorizing/reading. even before sleeping (no matter how late it is), she pushes herself to study even only just a little.

↳ take out a pen and a paper: being an idol actually wasn't her original dream. ahreum had always said she wanted to be an optometrist (doctor for the eyes) or a dermatologist when asked, but it had all changed unknowingly. music was always with her as a child and was one company when she was alone. she mostly listened to pop songs and liked learning from mirrored dances in her free time (this was when she was 11-12). when she was 13, she stumbled upon taemin's dance and from then on grew to like shinee. from shinee, yes, you guessed it, she grew to like kpop. she was never that serious when it came to dancing, and in fact was just a hobby. when she was 15, she officially joined a dancing academy (def dance skool). then things flowed until she was scouted at her previous company. that's when she really contemplated about joining and becoming a kpop idol. she decided that it wouldn't be all too bad if she tried, so she did. ahreum couldn't last that long however, only for less than a year (based on her aforementioned experience). ahreum quit her dance academy after that, all the while still a little shook after what happened at the previous company. she decided to focus on school first, but she could never really let go of dancing. that's when it hit her that no matter how much she's gone through, dancing will always be her passion. upon realizing this, she took a lot of courage to audition for m&h and from there flowed her trainee life and decision to join produce 101 until now.

↳ and write down the words I had deeply swallowed: waking up in the morning is truthfully a hard step for ahreum. she loves sleeping more than anything in the world, and any earlier than 9 is pure horror to her. however, for the sake of getting more things done, she forces herself to wake up earlier by setting alarms or notifying her caretakers to wake her up (m&h doesn't have dorms since it's a small company). the trainees are required to check in the company by 10, so sometimes, she's late because she wakes up an hour before the required time. after waking up, she washes her face, brushes her teeth and gets ready wearing casual clothes (and brings her practice clothes with her). she eats a small breakfast if the time allows it, but if it doesn't, she heads towards m&h with a few minutes to spare. she practices with the other trainees until late before leaving with everybody (truthfully, no one likes getting left behind because there are a lot of horror stories circling around the company). if one does want to practice more (and if she/he's scared), she/he has to bribe the others to stay with her/him first (lol, with food or goodies). ahreum doesn't do that often, but if she has to, this is where her status comes in more handy than ever (the other trainees love bugging her to buy them food, really). that's basically ahreum's everyday at the company.

❝[about her parents, they were honestly skeptical with her decision and talked to her about it (whenever they could find the time). they were the ones who told her to try and if it wouldn't work then it's all fine. after what happened at her previous company (and after suing them), her parents turned against the idea of having her as a kpop idol, but after much forcing and contemplating, they reluctantly accepted her decision in joining m&h. 'but if you're having a hard time then don't hesitate to quit' is what her parents told her, but ahreum honestly wouldn't tell them if she was having a hard time and she most certainly wouldn't quit]

[oh and i won't put them in the relationships anymore cuz yeaaaaa but her dad's the ceo of kia & her mom's head of one department in the company;; the fam's not really close but on a scale of 5, maybe 2.5?]❞

↳ m&h, although a small company, houses very talented and nice trainees. ahreum truthfully couldn't find any negative thing about m&h. she adjusted fairly easily because of the kind people and because of the ambiance around the company. practicing was the surprise for her, though. they were trained for their dance and singing skills, but they were more trained for their personality (mental and emotional states). she didn't know if it was like that in every company because of her lack of knowledge, but maybe it was the reason why everybody in m&h was really accomodating. she didn't have a hard time practicing even though it was tiring physically because it was helping her improve and keep up emotionally.

↳ i can honestly see hwang minhyun as a giant softie. always watching out for others, being a worrywart, being a clean freak (rolls eyes), being a really great listener and just being there for whoever needs him. not the type to be shy nor boisterous, minhyun is borderline friendly - the type to never mean to hurt anybody. minhyun is literally so sweet because he's always helping others even if it's a little tiring. but even though he comes off so mannered and mature, he has a little nerdy side to him, like he's really smart. sometimes he can make people feel dumb because he's just so literate?? he uses these deep words that you don't usually hear on a daily basis and sometimes he comes off as someone arrogant but he's actually not. nu'est is used to him, but the other trainees feel intimidated by him sometimes because he comes off as such a smart and chaebol kind of guy. but minhyun is not really good with his feelings and doesn't usually say what he feels inside. like he's the type to bottle up his feelings until they blow up one day and people are like??? is this minhyun??. but he's the type to be angry by himself even though he doesn't get angry often. sometimes he's so frustrating because he always seems like a happy guy even though he's going through a lot. and because he blows all the steam off by himself even though he knows he can lean on others even just sometimes. overall, he is just a giant unicorn who's so sweet and fluffy and just so boyfriend !!!1!
