APPEARANCE — yibyul appears to be a rather joyful and cute girl; she doesn't seem to ever be depressed and can always find something to laugh about, even if that something is the sight of decapitated corpses and rotten flesh. her brown eyes would glimmer every time she spots a prey. one of her most unique characteristics is probably her dimples which form whenever she smiles.

yibyul has a rather petite and small figure, but that seems to become her strength since she can move swiftly and easily. she likes to wear tighter clothing that doesn't obstruct her movement. she is no fan of the bulky kind of battle armor, but she likes to wear the unitard and is almost always seen in that attire even outside battle and training. the downside to this attire is that it takes a lot of time to wear it, so when she is in a rush, she'll opt for a vest and shorts. her favourite weapon is the mace since it's a good weapon for torturing, but should there be a rare cake for quick murdering, she would opt for the dagger. additionally. she likes to tie her hair up into a quick ponytail so that it will not impede her movement (she did cut her hair short once, but she decided that a short haircut looked tragic on her and never attempted it again). 

her common attire, the unitard. during battle, the unitard she wears is made out of leather.

the first mace she uses against opponents who used long-ranged attacks like magic etc. when she gains momentum, she can swing the mace accurately at the victim's targeted body part from some distance and strike. she does this for her first attack. at other situations, she doesn't really use the first mace since it is only effective when she applies great force, and most of the time she doesn't have enough strength to deliver a critical blow with this mace.
the second mace she uses during torturing. this mace strikes the opponent and penetrates the skin with small holes. normally it doesn't deliver critical blows, but it causes the opponent to bleed profusely and painfully.

PERSONALITY —
♚ "only a coward will hide behind the winner's back and be satisfied with what they have!"
for the better or for the worse, yibyul is a valiant person who likes to do whatever she believes is right. she doesn't cower from the unknown and instead faces all obstacles with spirit and spite. perhaps this is because of her firm belief in her principles and values. that is why she wants to join the battle and compete for the ephemeral crown so that she has a chance to beat the system which she so detests. sometimes, she uses her courage for the wrong things, such as tasting the forbidden fruits of killing, stealing and so on so forth, but because of her wit, she is rarely caught (mainly because she's very agile and fast so she can run away with the speed of light before anyone can even pinpoint her as the criminal and catch up to her - however, in the event that she does get caught, she is also able to sweet talk her way out of the situation. for instance, for stealing, she'll claim she's just a poor girl and make use of the shop owner's sympathy to weasel her way out of punishment.) at other times, she would stand up against injustice (although arguably, her definition of justice seems rather twisted) and take action to create a change.

♚ "nothing is impossible in this world. if there is a will, there is a way!"
yibyul is very optimistic about the future. this is partially because she has real confidence in her skills and no matter how hard things may be, she believes that miracles will happen and she will triumph all odds. additionally, she has hope that things will eventually get better, even though she has already lost hope for humans themselves. due to this, she is generally a bubbly person and aims to spread the joy to the people around her.

♚ "life won't go straight all the time, so i need to change things a little to keep up!"
yibyul doesn't just stick to one safe formula; she is prepared to test out all sorts of methods to find out the best one which can lead her to victory. therefore, she is flexible and often experiments with strategies and techniques so that she can discover the ones that fits her agile build the best. even when emergency situations happen and the plan goes wrong, yibyul will adapt accordingly and come up with solutions to resolve the problem instinctively.

♚ "you won't agree with everything i say, and that's fine. just don't back out on what you said once you have said them!"
because of how firmly she believes in her own convictions, she can be very inspiring and encourages others to be as cheerful as her and pursue their dreams and ideals (which can include something as simple as pursuing their dream careers as well as something as gruesome as killing relentlessly without regard for others' opinions). she often speaks about her values and principles with such passion that it is hard not to be taken in by her speech, no matter how extreme her ideals sound to be.

♚ "i need to take note of the smaller details to be able to shape a greater future."
although yibyul seems carefree, rash and impulsive, she is actually very observant to the key details and formulates her strategies revolving around them. that is how she can compile all the data of the races' strengths and weaknesses as well as information of the ephemeral crown battle's participants so that she can find ways to exploit their weaknesses beforehand. indeed, her meticulousness has helped a lot in securing her victory.

♚ "staying safe all the time is boo~ ring. as much as we need sugar, we also need some spice in life!"
yibyul enjoys being adventurous and venturing out to the unknown and gain new experiences. it thrills her a lot to be able to try something different from what she would normally do, so even though she is normally agility-based, she would train her strength very often so that she can obtain a more decisive kill. she also likes to explore different territories, but because of the strained relations between the races, she cannot enter the other races' territories and is a little bitter about it. she tries to sneak in whenever she can though. most of the time, she is not caught.

♚ "the truth is only what the winners make it to be."
under yibyul's cheerful facade is a very deceptive and sly person. normally, she is dishonest and doesn't speak the truth unless the situation calls for it; instead, she uses lies to cover up an ugly picture with a beautiful cover so that she can eventually achieve her goals. this is also how she manages to trap her prey, especially those who are more innocent in terms of their outlook.

♚ "i don't ever screw up. if something happens, then it must be because of something else, not me."
despite being courageous, yibyul is also very strategic and doesn't pursue things recklessly. because of this, she always sees her plans as 'perfect' and doesn't like to taste defeat even when she is forced to. she will always push the blame on something or someone else, refusing to admit that it's her own fault even if she did make a mistake. sometimes, her irresponsibility results in her inability to learn from her past mistakes.

♚ "don't get in my way if you're going to be so useless!"
even though she is normally bubbly, yibyul is short-tempered and often lets her temper loose as she cannot suppress her overwhelming bouts of anger when things do not go her way. this sometimes leads to a killing rampage or merciless torturing of her plushies. she can also commit acts of violence towards objects and even to humans. hence, being around an angry yibyul is definitely not something anyone would want to be stuck with.

♚ "no matter what you say, i'll never change."
although she recognises that others may have differing views from her, yibyul is stubborn and does not ever change her views and principles because she believes what she says is absolute and all. although she acknowledges that others may have different views from her, she still believes that what she says is always right. it has come to a point that she'd rather die than give up her principles, even when they're so clearly wrong. most of the time, she seems to survive in some way so the consequences of her actions haven't caught up to her yet. the foundation of her actions and strategies basically revolves around her beliefs so it is obvious that they are of great significance to her.

♚ "it's not my fault i'm just that skilled."
yibyul is very proud of herself and her skills. it comes to a point when she would enjoy boasting to people about it. because of the sheer confidence of her skills, she grates the nerves of many people as they don't want to recognise her talents and inflate her ego even further. despite her conceit, she still trains hard when it counts so it's not as if people can rebut her either.

♚ "i won't lose. never ever."
yibyul is very competitive and she'll try to keep her enemies on their toes when they are battling against her. she refuses to surrender without a fight, so every time she battles, she treats it like her life is depending on it. due to this, she is way too emotionally invested into battles and suffers emotional slumps when she does lose.

TRIVIA —
♚ yibyul means 'one star', because 1) stars can't shine without darkness, so yibyul only shines when there's darkness and 2) in yibyul's night sky, she's the only star shining; she plans to kill everyone so that she can stand on top alone, no matter how idealistic that may sound.
♚ she would be very focused before attacking her enemy, ensuring that when she does eventually attack, her attacks are done with precision and accuracy. however, during the actual killing itself, she would enjoy slashing the dying person bit by bit, relishing in the screams and pleas of that person. when the person dies, she would lament, "ah, he died too fast... how boring."
♚ yibyul is a big fan of plushies. sometimes, she likes to twist the limbs of the plushies just for fun. she has a whole collection of plushies which have been twisted and deformed. additionally, she takes remnants of her victims' corpses and assemble them such that they appear as plushies. she calls these plushies her 'living dead'.
♚ while yibyul also enjoys torturing animals, she has no interest in killing invertebrates which feel no pain. she has a strange sense of sympathy towards invertebrates, claiming that they're unfortunate animals for not being able to feel pain despite having lives. she keeps some invertebrates as pets, such as ants and her favourite snail, Terminator.
♚ yibyul also enjoys roleplaying as different characters and yearns to be an actress, but she is rejected by many entertainment companies with a common reason, "this girl laughs too much."
♚ yibyul is both s & m. that means, she likes to torture people but she also likes to be tortured herself. she relishes in pain.
♚ her room contains a lot of random equipment used primarily for torturing, such as whips, handcuffs and... i don't think you want to know more.
♚ if there is anything yibyul detests, that would be following the rules as she firmly believes in freedom of expression. despite that, she would follow mandatory rules, because she believes she would eventually get the chance to revamp the rules entirely.
♚ yibyul cannot stand curry or any spicy things, and if anyone is to serve her something spicy, she would slash them in a bat of an eye.
♚ yibyul also detests creatures in general, even wendigos.
♚ it may seem like yibyul is fearless about everything, but since she is still a living being, it is only natural for her to fear something. her greatest fear is probably failing. she can't imagine ever failing, and if she does she would rather die than fail. additionally, she fears sleeping, because she don't know if she'll wake up again after falling asleep.
♚ yibyul often has nightmares, and usually it's the same recurring one about her falling into a deep, dark, bottomless, endless abyss again and again. she thrills in the excitement, yet at the same time, she fears that what's remaining of her sanity would be swallowed up by the darkness enveloping her. every time she wakes up, she would stare dazedly at the wall and laugh, though her laugh is always a hollow one.

FAMILY —
i don't like to call it a tragic backstory, but pretty much all my family members died. the only few i know who's surviving is some of my cousins. sometimes i talk to them for the fun of it, but usually we just do our own thing. the closest wendigo i had to a family was my aunt. she told me stories i didn't know exist regarding my parents. my parents didn't have much status or power among the wendigos, so they were fed to the stronger ones. it was a simple principle; the weak was fed to the strong. i think they simply accepted it as it is. they were really proud of being wendigos, apparently. they were firm believers that the darkness would eventually shine light on their future, though they never lived to see it.

my cousins like to stay away from anything messy and simply settle for safety. sometimes they would kill a few creatures here and there to eat, but that's that. they don't even care about the ruling system. they're so boring, aren't they? my aunt was a bit more interesting, and she taught me a lot about the wendigos' way of life. because she had seen how my parents died, she told me that i must become stronger... only if i become stronger will i then be able to protect myself and my loved ones. she believes that we can only become strong once we obtain the ephemeral crown, but like me, she thinks the whole system is stupid and there should only be one winner. but she was the only one i loved, and she died in the ephemeral crowns' battlefield. her last words to me were, "obtain the ephemeral crown, and bring glory to our family and the wendigos."

of course i had to participate in the battlefield then, but even if she didn't say those words, i would probably still do it just to change the stupid system and show everyone else that the darkness is the only light in our path. 

FRIENDS —
i have many friends, i guess? hehe. it's easy to befriend people... you just need to manipulate them a little with words and boom, they're your friends. it's easy to say things you don't mean, you see. but i simply can't get along with some people, and i guess that's fine since some people also don't seem to be able to get along with me.
the closest person i have to a friend is probably jung soojung. she's a wendigo like i am, but she isn't a coward, at least. we train together a lot since she's a rogue like i am. she doesn't care about the ephemeral battle, however. she thinks battles are boring. well, it's her own opinion so i don't care much.
additionally, i guess sehun and chanyeol would be considered my friends. sometimes, when sehun and i are training together at night, we'll see chanyeol and jaeeun. i don't care about that elf, but i quite like chanyeol. he has trained himself to be a tough wendigo instead of just cowering like the other idiotic cowards. sehun also likes him a lot, but he always acts as if he hates us... all because he's head over heels for that elf. chanyeol is just foolish. he needs to see what's right for him. elves and wendigos don't ever get along, not in a lifetime. he'll regret it when that elves realises that he's a wendigo and ends up stabbing him on the back. i just hope sehun and i make him realise that before it's too late.

ENEMIES —
actually, i hate all the races, arguably my own as well. but if i have to pick my most hated, that would be the elves. they always act as if they're all that high and mighty for not getting their hands dirty, but really they're just cowards hiding behind the facade of light. they thrill in watching the others fight over one another like mad yet they never actually step out to challenge us with attacks. i seriously hate weaklings like these.
the most annoying elf i've probably met is jung jaeeun... although she's more of a half elf and half goblin, but whatever. it's not as if details matter. she kinda reminds me of a nicer version of me, and it frustrates me. i just feel like crushing her into bits and pieces. ah, i'll probably have the chance to do that someday. hehehe!


— INTERVIEWING THE OC.

WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT EPHEMERUS' FOUR YEARS RULING SYSTEM?
i think it's an incredibly stupid idea, and i would like to find the person who made this system and personally chop him into tiny little pieces myself (DONTKILLMEMELODYXD) for coming up with the most outrageous idea i've heard of in my life. if you're gonna switch the king, then what's the point of having a king at the first place? isn't the king supposed to be the mightiest of them all? even though the wendigos aren't got any chance for a real election, thanks to certain stupid, judgmental creatures, i'd rather have a king be elected so that we can throw a coup d'etat and overthrow the king entirely. having this kind of half-hearted system is just gonna piss everybody off. all or nothing, am i right?

besides, i like how everybody else in the races just pushes the responsibility on the four volunteers of their race and claims credit when they attain victory despite doing absolutely nothing. such lovely teammates i have!

WHAT WAS YOUR PAST LIKE?
my past? oh, it's glorious. i saw blood, blood and more blood. hahaha! i don't really remember the details, but i remember a famine occurred between the wendigos sometime back because we were ostracised by the rest of the creatures. some wendigos fended off by becoming vegeterians, but many couldn't resist their thirst, and some started attacking the weaker wendigos, those which include my parents. well, it's their fault for being weak, so i guess they deserve it. i don't remember much of it anyway... i only heard about it all from my aunt, whom i hope is a reliable source.

anyway, after witnessing the annihilation of pretty much all my family members, i think i've gotten used to the vision, smell and even taste of blood. sometimes i even kill and eat for fun, but mainly i had been training for this ephemeral crown battle just so that i can finally attain victory for my aunt and the wendigos.

WHY DO YOU WANT TO JOIN THE BATTLE AND COMPETE FOR THE EPHEMERAL CROWN?
well, it's partially because of my aunt. her final wish was for me to join this battle and bring glory for our family and the wendigos... how could i refuse? but of course, i wanted a chance to change this horrid system, and for starters, i have to at least get a hold of the four years ruling rights. only then can i hope to perhaps allow the wendigos to rule the piece of land forever and ever. that'll be the start to the wendigo revolution... hehehe!

WHAT ARE YOUR STRENGTH AND WEAKNESSES?
oh, i have a lot of strengths! i'm a master of strategies and i always have clear plans on what i am going to do to slay my enemies. while i am no good at charging in for the kill, i can sneak behind my enemy's back without them noticing me and swiftly decapitate them before they know it. it is a worry if my enemy has high defense, but i have fast reflexes so if they're slow, i'll just pull back quickly and try to hit the vital points of my enemy to deal even bigger damage. they won't be able to keep up with my speed and eventually, they'll just bow down to me. ha ha ha.

as much as i don't like to admit it, i have rather low strength so my attacks are usually not critical. to compensate for that, i have to slash many times and very quickly at that before the enemy has a chance to react. additionally, i have very low defense so i can't take attacks very well. it would be very easy to kill me if i don't have fast reflexes. if my opponents can somehow take advantage of these, they'll probably have to be as fast as me and deal extremely high damage or know long-range magic. perhaps i'll fall... but of course, i won't give up without a fight!

WHAT ARE YOUR STRATEGIES IN THE BATTLE?
well, i have someone i trust and can cooperate with... taekwoon. i would prefer that we move together since our combination would be deadly, but in the event when he dies, i won't mind going alone.

basically, he's in charge of giving the deadly rush while i'm in charge of sneaking behind our opponent's back without them knowing and planning the strategy. he'll be the one taking on the attacks and delivering the critical blows while i'll just be providing support to him. because taekwoon is not very agile, he can have a hard time dodging; besides, he isn't exactly the smartest guy out there. so, if his defenses are wearing off, he'll back off and i'll be the one defending him. with my fast reflexes, it'll still take some time before the enemy can hit me. i like to call this the 2-wall defense and attack - the first wall is taekwoon, where he delivers the heavy attacks and bears the majority of the blows himself; the second wall is me, where i'll deliver the finishing hit and avoid the attacks as much as my limit carries me!

even if he dies, i'll still carry on with the same plan, although it'll be harder with my first wall gone. i'm confident that i can still last long with my reflexes though.

i know there are haughty creatures out which use magic, and that's an unfair advantage, but i'll just dash to them and outrun them with my speed and deliver the critical blows on their weak spots.

there are many ways creatures can be killed actually. i don't like to use cheap methods like poison; instead, i like to face my enemies with my head high in a legitimate battle. i can slash them into bits and pieces, decapitate them, slash them in the vital spots, slash their eyes and take away their vision, and in desperate situations i can just beat them bare-handed and suffocate them with brute force. i can also use other weapons like guns and lighters; i'm not that good with guns, but they do give me an advantage in terms of range. shooting, burning... ah, there are plenty of ways to kill and torture all those creatures. i'll have all the time i need to discover them all.

SUMMARY —
♚ on the surface;
sehun appears to be an aloof, distant and anti-social guy. he seems very calm compared to the wendigos (well, at first glance, at least), and surprisingly, he doesn't seem to speak much to lure his prey unlike the other wendigos.

♚ digging deeper;
however, hidden behind his calm exterior is a beast seeking for flesh. his inner berserker, when unleashed, causes him to charge at people impulsively and knock his prey down before they know what's coming. he has a sick, almost disgusting obsession for killing, and thrills in hearing the deranged screams of his opponents.

he's very straightforward and doesn't beat around the bush. that is probably his greatest strength since he hands facts straight and direct, allowing the people around him to improve from their weaknesses. his honesty can be a double-edged sword at times, but for the most part, it seems to do him more good than harm.

additionally, he is rather pragmatic and is good at saving money up. he doesn't splurge his money too much as he believes that these resources must be saved for him to be able to purchase better equipment and weapons in the future. 

as you can tell, he is very rash and often charges at his enemy without much deliberation or thought. sometimes, he can take his enemy down by brute force, but other times, it doesn't quite work. he normally maintains a calm facade, but once he is stimulated, his emotions can become overwhelming and overpowering, causing him to charge instinctively.

at the same time, he is very demanding of his teammates and because rarely can they meet his expectations, he often looks down on them and doesn't view them as equals.

♚ additional trivia
; as much as he doesn't seem like it, he is a big plushie fan. unlike yibyul, he doesn't like to torture them and believes they should be kept as part of his precious collection. he has a collection of perfectly uninjured plushies in his room.
; he may seem like a humourless person, but he enjoys making lame puns. nobody really laughs, but he'll laugh at his own puns. he also likes being sarcastic.
; he fears the feeling of fear, which is why he'd rather charge at his enemies impulsively so that he'll have no time to fear at all. he doesn't harbour hatred for anyone except himself.

♚ background;
sehun has been a lone wolf for some time. he doesn't even know who his parents are, nor does he has anyone to take care of him. therefore, he often wanders around and just follows his survival instincts when he is hungry, cold and tired. that is, to feast on creatures. in the process, he enjoys the sensation of chasing and hunting down his prey before slaughtering them one and for all.

as he thrills in the feeling of victory, he plans to join the ephemeral battle... for the sake of his own amusement. it's not as glorious of a goal as attaining the championship for the wendigos, but he doesn't care either way. he wants to grab all the opportunities to slaughter more and more creatures... in the process, he can attain the achievement of being the first wendigo to win the battle. that, itself, is a glorious enough reason for him.

FIRST MEETING —
their first meeting occurred in the field at night. both of them like to train on the same patch of field at night, and they happen to chance upon each other. they unexpectedly click very well during their first meeting (although sehun did say 'ah, she's such a noisy kid' and yibyul did say 'ah, that guy is way too boring!'). being a very observant person, yibyul immediately picks up sehun's strengths which complement with her own role. therefore, she has proposed that they train as a duo since it'll increase their chances of improving. after all, they both have their own weaknesses, but when they work together, they can cover up each other's weaknesses. 

RELATIONSHIP —
they don't really have an ideal relationship which normal people may imagine. as both of their roles complement each other, sehun charges and yibyul sneaks behind the back. sometimes taekwoon would conduct strength training with yibyul while yibyul reminds him to stop charging at any enemy he sees and instead, he should be more observant and tactical. they give advice to each other and help each other out in training so that both of them can improve together. at the same time, yibyul understands that in a battle like this, either one of them can die any time, so she always tells taekwoon, "although i'm very lovable, don't get too attached to me, all right? you have to survive if i die." sehun would reply back, "same goes for you. i don't want to see you die without fighting even when i'm on my deathbed."

outside of training, yibyul often annoys him and he replies sarcastically to her. sometimes he'll just be randomly (un)punny and she'll just shout 'laaaame~'. despite their seemingly amicable relationship, they're both distrustful of each other, and yibyul even jokes, "i like you, but sometimes i'm really afraid of trusting my back to you, because you may charge at me anytime" while sehun would reply, "before i can do that, you'll probably chop me down with that sword of yours." nevertheless, they cooperate with each other simply because they have some sort of chemistry which works to slay more and more enemies. perhaps it's fortunate that they're both of the same race... if not, war may be waged between them. 

eventually, they move on to more extreme things for the sake of their own enjoyment where sehun hurts yibyul (since taekwoon is a sadist while yibyul is both a sadist and masochist), and they do it simply because it's fun. however, they do share more serious moments of their lives to each other, because they both think that only the other will understand them. that being said, they promise each other not to get too attached, because when there's a possibility that either of them can die on the spot, emotions can kill both of them. so, they say, "let us just be a catalyst for one another... a catalyst, and nothing more."

FAMOUS LAST WORDS — HEYYYYY i'm here with an absolute psycho of a character + a bonus psycho whom she hits really well with HAHA. hope that's enough intensity xD im yibyul is sorta inspired by enoshima junko from danganronpa and satsuki momoi from kuroko no basket, and idk how i came up with taekwoon's personality but i kinda used berserker from fate/stay night as a reference, even though their personalities turned out to be really different. (all of them are anime lol)

SCENE SUGGESTIONS — if yibyul ever dies, please give her a horrible death and let her die with a smile on her face (omg i sound like a sadist now lol). not sure if you're intending to let the wendigos work together in their own group to come up with a strategy (as well as with all the other races) but it'll be cool if we can see some cooperation among the four leading participants! also, i would really like to see yibyul and taekwoon going into killing rampages together (or just torturing people- idk, anything dark is cool HAHA).
