a sweet dream - poem
I don't know why, but yesterday when I was trying to sleep, I suddenly thought about writing a poem about dreams vs reality (such great timing, right?). And so, this poem is birthed. I usually write prose and this is the first poem I had written in my free time (without being pressured by submission deadlines etc) ; u ; It's fun to write when there isn't pressure, but since every word means something, it's a challenge to convey meaning through so little words. Constructive criticism is highly appreciated! Feel free to share your interpretation of this poem too :D
Genre: Dark. It isn't exactly angst.

climb up
the vertiginous cliff
and reach out
for my hand.
am i grabbing you
to pull you up,
or am i grabbing you
to let you down?
you’re inviting me
with a smile
like it’s okay for wind to
take you away.
then,
keep falling,
falling
and falling
deep into utopic land
where reality will never wake you up
again.
