Evelyn was born in Chicago, US. She was the third child of a Korean-Afro Brazilian couple. Evelyn grew up with her older brother, Ade and her older sister, Esperanza. Her childhood was pretty normal. Evelyn was the one who loved sports a lot. She started soccer at the age of five. She was a little beast in that sport. She had no mercy when she was playing. Evelyn played a lot along with her older siblings at sports.
Evelyn grew up listening to rnb a lot thanks to her parents. While listening to rnb music it made her fall in love with this type of music. You could heard her singing all around the house. She never took singing lessons... She just liked to sing for fun haha. It was only in high school that she started to dance. She mainly took Latin and African ballroom dances it consist of kizomba, kompa, rumba, bachata, chacha, tango later on, she did hiphop. As soon she graduated high school, she went to University of California in dance.
That's when she joined the dance studio Willdabeast and she met the dance crew 8Flavahz. She got in the crew and danced with them. She got paid for dance performances and also for small concert that Willdabeast did. The same year she joined the 8Flavahz team went to ABDC and finished second. It was so amazing. After that, Evelyn kept dancing with Willdabeast and passed free time with her older brother who was making music. He used her to do demos and she started to make mixtape. Most of them were just the two of them making BS. In 2014, Evelyn decided to try a new challenge for her and she went on SYTYCD. It was the hardest challenge she did but, she finished in the Top 3. She got lucky that after this show, she got scouted to dance in an amazing dance movie as a backup dancer. The next year, her brother got the visit of his long time friend, Chase Vincent Malone. That day was when Evelyn got scouted because of her dancing and her vocal.
