° Background: Hoa was born in seoul, south. She was the third child of a vietnamese mother and a korean father. Hoa grew up with her older brother, Khan and her older sister, Huong. She lived most of her toddler years in south korea and the family moved to Vancouver, Canada because her father got a new job there. Hoa was the one who loved sports a lot. She started soccer at the age of five. She was a little beast in that sport. She had no mercy when she was playing. hoa played a lot along with her older siblings at sports.
Hoa grew up listening to rnb a lot thanks to her older siblings. While listening to rnb music it made her fall in love with this type of music. That's when she started to sing. She took singing lessons. She tried to sing, but her voice wasn't the best, it was ok. She took singing class after that and worked on her vocal.
Few years later, her parents knew that she was too good to keep her talent for herself so they told her about to be an idol in korea. At first, she refused. she didn't wanted to be an idol because it was something that she couldn't see herself in. It took around two years when she saw that sm entertainment had an international audition in Vancouver. She auditioned, but she got refused. She also tried jyp the same year and she got refused. Her parents sended her to South Korea to visit her family and have fun in seoul during summer vacation. That time, she decided that she would try to auditionate for Starship Entertainment. She got accepted under Starship and she was 16 years old. After training two years and being dropped from Sistar's lineup, Hoa left the company and went to Seoul National University rather than keeping training. After four years in university and graduating in Mathematic-Informatic and a year studying in Cryptology at Seoul National University, she left university and decided to go for Ginger Tea which was a smaller company. She trained for two years before debuting.

° Trainee Life: Hoa's trainee days wasn't easy that all. First of all, she has to learn back Korean because she was just conversational. She had to go to school (because she wanted to finish high school) while training for hours. She trained along with her close friend, Soyou/Kang Jihyun. She also started to learn how to rap in the company. Rapping was more like a hobby for her, but the company tried to force her to try something new for her. After working and studying like a maniac, she got accepted in the lineup for Starship's first girl group project. She danced for hours with Soyou, Dasom and Hyorin. Hoa felt like her moment of glory was coming then, the company dropped her from the lineup few months before the group's debut. Their reason was because Bora was a better dancer than her. They felt like the group lacked in term of dancing and exchanged Hoa. Hoa felt like she was being bethrayed. It made her loose hope in herself and she hated the fact she was dropped so last minute. Due to her hard feeling against the company's choice, Hoa left the company and enrolled to Seoul National University.
After studying for four years in university, Hoa saw seeing Bora everywhere and being successful and she thought, "It was supposed to be my place. I was supposed to be dancing there with them." That's what motived her to train again to be an idol. She doesn't want to be in the shadow and she want to show Starship that they lost a golden star. She is doing it to make them regret their decision of dropping Hoa for Bora. Training under Ginger Tea, Hoa worked her off. She pushed herself harder in dancing and in her vocal. She also worked for her rapping skills and started to write her lyrics. She did everything to improve her talent to be able to debut finally.

They met throught Soyou from Sistar who is still very close with Hoa. Actually, they are both best friends each other ,but they have feeling for each other. All members of Vulgaire and Monsta X sees the fact that they have feeling for each other. Hoa and Shownu doesn't even realise it right away. The members would try to tell them, but they would deny it. They both feel like they conect in a way, but they only sees it as a strong friendship and nothing else. The thing is that they aren't aware that they like each other. They actually do looks like boyfriend-girlfriend. They get easily get jealous and having skinship. Around each other, they are joking around, talking, having silly conversations.
In public, they are looking like two friends mostly because they don't want any crazy rumors about them. yeah, you know, crazy fangirls who doesn't want oppar to be close to a beautiful rookie idol. They are both careful about both groups' reputation since power just debuted. They don't want a big scandal to appear and ruin everything. so, they act like two close friends. They make up jokes together and laugh together like two crazy people.
When they are both on a tv show, they act like two best friends. Sometimes, they have jealous moment but still. Everytime that the mcs asks who's their favourite, they will tell each other's name.. (which is the reason why the fans are shipping them haha :p)
The members of Vulgaire tries to make her realise, but despite to be an hopeless romantic and knowing it all, Hoa deny it all. she doesn't want to admit that she feels him. She literally force herself to think about it as a friendship. this is the same way in the boys' side. Then, slowly, Shownu was the one who realised it first and tried everything to make her see that their friendship isn't just about that. It has more than friendship involved. but, he'll have a hard time to make her see that.
