//// the basics ////
full name / Go Chaein.
alias(es) /
► Chae; easily, just a shorter variation of her full name that's common for friends and family to use.
► Jjillekkot; this means "wild rose" in Korean, and this was Hoon's nickname for Chaein. He picked this one for her because though she appears beautiful and sweet to the eye, getting close to her will only hurt.
birthdate / 05 June 1995.
origin / Seoul, South Korea.
current location / Seoul, South Korea.
OCCUPATION / University student, flower delivery girl, and part-time lounge singer.
height / 168 cm.
//// the appearance ////
face claim / Luna (F(x)).
backup / Lee Hi (Soloist).

appearance /
► Before Hoon's death, her hair was light brown and flowed down to the middle of her back. After Hoon's death, she cut her hair into a blueish-black colored bob that stopped right around her jawline. She's shorter than her face claim by a few centimeters, but she's still in normal BMI range. She has a wild rose tattoo on her back that she got a day before Hoon's funeral in memory of her relationship with him. The normal piercings in her ear were her only before Hoon's death, but she got herself a nose ring and a lip ring.

//// the facts ////
character traits /
► positive: compassionate, kind, responsible.
► neutral: resourceful, self-sufficient, transparent.
► negative: distant, finicky, stubborn.

elaboration /
► Showing sympathy was something Chaein didn't have to force herself to do. It came rather naturally for her to feel concern for the people around her, wondering if they're alright or if they need help. It could be her absolute worst enemy, and Chaein would still care if they tripped and fell right in front of her. She'd probably even help them up and take care of any bruises. But that just goes to show how kind she is. She's often times polite, even when in the midst of rude people. It doesn't take much for her to be generous to others, and she will easily pass along a smile even to a stranger just to brighten someone's day. Another positive aspect to Chaein's personality is her responsibility. It's not something that she's picked up in her adulthood either because she's been very in control of her obligations since her youth.

► Being faced with a challenge is never really a bad thing for Chaein as she can usually find some way to overcome it. She's used to doing things for herself, which allows her to fix things for herself as well. She's not one to ask for help often, or actually ever, because she believes if she can't do it herself, she doesn't deserve it. She feels she needs to think all things through and work hard if they're important to her. Chaein can also be very, very easy to read. People can almost literally look right through her. She's the type of person who displays her emotions on her face always, never really knowing how to hide it.

► Because she relies on herself and because she's goal-oriented, she tends to put people last. She's kind to them, yes. However, she doesn't get close to people. Maybe it's because she was raised as an only child, or maybe it's because she's so used to depending on Chaein and only Chaein. Yet it's very difficult for even someone who's known her for years to become close to her. Quite frankly, this is the reason why Hoon was her only real friend, everyone else being acquaintances. Also, because she's so used to taking care of things herself the way she likes, she doesn't find anyone else's way satisfactory. This is another reason why she can't get close to people. Nothing they do is ever really good enough for her. She probably won't complain aloud, but it's pretty obvious to people that she's not pleased. Lastly, the girl can be very stubborn. If she doesn't agree, it's like talking to a brick wall. Probably harder. I mean, Chaein will not budge. She doesn't see this as a negative trait, being the stubborn girl she is, but other people sure do.

background
► Being an only child of two lower-middle class parents, Chaein grew up to take care of herself basically. Her parents were always working to make a stable lifestyle for their daughter, and they were very appreciative that she could manage to get good grades, cook for herself, and take care of herself without them there to guide her every second. After primary school, they were pleased to see that she was doing well pretty much on her own. Chaein didn't see much of them, and she was fine with that because that's what she was used to. Not being close to any other children, she didn't know any different.

It wasn't until she graduated high school and enrolled into university that she started to branch out slowly. Very slowly. She didn't make friends, but she made acquaintances. She rejected her parents' money, and she applied to the neighborhood flower shop as a delivery girl, noting that the pay was significantly higher than that of a food delivery girl or waitress. She first bought her own bike then found her own studio apartment. The neighborhood her apartment was in was only three minutes away from the flower shop, and only a few buildings down was an incredible little cafe that she could smell coffee from her window. Never having drank coffee before, she visited the cafe one day for tea instead, which is how she met Hoon. He was much easier for her to get along with than other people, mainly because he didn't disappoint her. And so, the cafe became something of a regular routine, getting her morning cup of tea before starting her deliveries. However, about a year ago, Chaein came to the cafe less and less as she took on more classes and started singing part time at a lounge for extra money and her own enjoyment after seeing a poster on her school's bulletin. She did miss Hoon when she started ignoring him for school and work, but... Well, the girl had her priorities.

//// the plotline ////
funeral / Instead of the traditional black attire, Chaein wore Hoon's favorite dress of hers. For someone who's transparent, she did pretty well holding in her tears. That was until she saw Hoon in the casket, and then it all came out. She couldn't stop crying, and she stood there at the casket for several minutes before one of the other plotlines helped her into a seat next to them. Despite not being close, she leaned on this person (the first case of her relying on somebody), and she cried with them throughout the funeral. She couldn't think about anything but Hoon being lowered into the ground.
past / Hoon was someone Chaein easily talked to, enjoying his friendship more than she enjoyed being alone, which was saying something. He didn't try to baby her, and even when he playfully tried to get her to drink coffee, she didn't mind because he was humorous and sweet about it instead of being forceful and annoying. Before she ditched him for work and school, she would make her morning routine to have tea and just chat with him about any and everything. Even on days where she was too busy to come in, Hoon would order flowers just so they could talk to each other. When she started getting busy, Chaein began ignoring the deliveries to Hoon's cafe because she knew he wouldn't complain to her boss, and she felt guilty for not being around for him anymore.
present / Since losing her only friend, she stares at Hoon's other friends and wants to reach out. She wants to apologize to him through the other people that were close to him. She doesn't know how to reach out exactly, and she doesn't know how to call for help. But she slowly, very slowly, tries to open herself up and get to know them as if she were getting to know Hoon all over again. Maybe she even takes a part time position in the cafe eventually to feel closer to Hoon. And of course, she starts drinking the coffee he's tried making her before. She never had a sip of coffee before Hoon's death. Her very first cup was the day of the funeral.

//// the end ////
FINAL WORDS / I don't know if Chaein is the type of person you're looking for in this plotline, but I really hope you like her!
Suggestions / Maybe The Business Partner allows people to return to the cafe after the funeral for free breakfast? It just seems like something Hoon-like that could be for the grieving people.
SCENE REQS /
► Her breaking down and crying about her guilt to one of the other plotlines later on.

PASSWORD / Sure did.
