//// the basics ////
full name / Lee, Jinhoon
alias(es) /
Mini Hoon (Mini Me); Since Hoon's and Jinhoon's names are similar, Hoon always called Jinhoon "MiniMe" or "MiniHoon." Although Jinhoon always acted like he hated it, he actually felt honoured to be called in such a way. He looks up to him, and Hoon is his favourite hyung.
Jinho; Shorter version of his name that he forced everyone to call him by after Hoon's death. His own name reminded him and everyone around him too much of Hoon. He could've opted for Jin, but that's the name his foster parents called him by and he wants nothing to do with them.
Belle; His
adoptive mother gave him the annoying nickname since he has a ton of books like Belle from Beauty & The Beast.
Old Man; Kind of an ironic nickname amongst the group since he's the youngest, but is always grumpy, is bad with technology and has a lot of knowledge

appearance /
► Jinhoon (will be referred to as Jinho), already looks intimidating just with one glance. He's tall, and although he's lean, he has broad shoulders and some defined muscles and light abs due to Hoon pestering him to work out instead of lazing around. He has sharp features which further gives him the intimidating look. He has chestnut brown hair that's usually covered by some sort of snapback or hoodie...or both. The guy is also super pale due to his habit of always staying indoors. Like dude, his skin is brighter than everyone's future.  He has two piercings on his right ear and one on his left due to his rebellion against his foster parents.

//// the facts ////
character traits /
► positive: playful, loyal, selfless, creative
► neutral: clever, sarcastic, brave, out spoken, reserved
► negative: impulsive, cynical, critical,
disobedient
elaboration /

► Jinho as seen as other people, is very reserved, quiet, cold, a little scary, and hates any sort of human interaction. He likes to keep to himself, avoid conversation and live peacefully. He won't speak to people unless it's absolutely necessary, and even then he tries to use as little words as possible. It's not that he's shy. No. In fact, Jinho is never shy. It's just that talking to people means eventually listening to their problems and dealing with their , and he's really not into listening to others. He doesn't trust others easily and believes that everyone is just interested in talking about themselves and their own problems. Well, that was until he met Hoon. The boy is also very critical about practically everything. He doesn't know why, but he always likes to point out the faults in everything. Maybe it's his sadistic side, but he feels like the more people know how ty they are, the more they'll realize they need to shut the up.

Though Jinho is very quiet and keeps to himself, he has this whole other side of him that's a lot more playful and almost childish. He just needs the right person to bring it out. Though he doesn't show it, Jinho is playful and likes to have fun. On contrary to what most people think, he's not someone who hates everything joyous in the world. In fact he loves playing games. No matter if its children games, or just making lighthearted jokes that are filled to the brim with sarcasm. He tends to be sarcastic, but it's done purposefully. He thinks that it makes his life more fun. Who doesn't love some irony? Though Jinho doesn't like to speak out much, when he's asked about his opinion, he'll be frank. He doesn't beat around the bush, nor does he sugar coat it. If he disagrees with something he'll say it. If he agrees, he'll nod along in agreement. He's direct, sometimes even blunt. He never intends to hurt people, but if they do get hurt, he doesn't really care. He's just being honest. It's their fault if they can't handle the truth.

Although Jinho acts like he doesn't care for others, which he doesn't for most people to be honest, for the people close to him, he cherishes. He's loyal to them and will have their back no matter what. He'll actually get off his lazy to help them out. He's very selfless in that sense. He actually tries his best to put the needs of his loved ones before his own.  Have you heard of the term "It's the quiet ones that think the most?" Well this definitely applies to Jinho. He's always thinking, whether it's observing others, or figuring out how to get out of a conversation. He's a very clever kid, so he knows how to get himself out of sticky or unwanted situations. Not only that, but he's also a fast learner and is quick to catch onto things, so people can never really trick him. Creativity comes easily for him since he is a writer. He's very imaginative and likes to lose himself in fantasy since it's much more interesting than his real life. He loves writing and and reading novels. He dreams of becoming a world famous author. Mystery, fantasy and even a little bit of romance are his favourites. No one would expect such a sensitive side of him, but it's there!

It was touched upon that Jinho is not a very shy person; it's just that he doesn't want to deal with people. In fact, the kid has guts. He's very brave, and won't be afraid to stand up for himself and his loved ones when he needs to. He's not easy to scare and has tough skin due to what he went through with his foster family. He's not easily shaken, both by words and physical fights. He may not be the strongest, but he can throw a punch. Speaking of which, it's not the best idea to fight him. He's doesn't like to be controlled and being told what to do. It's his life. He'll live it however he wants to. He's usually cool headed, but once he's angry or upset, he gets impulsive and won't think about his actions or the consequences of them.

background

► Jinho was put into foster care at the age of three when his house burned down due to a gas leak. Fortunately his parents got him to safety, but they didn't make it. He doesn't remember much about them. He remembers that they were kind, generous and fun people. Definitely a huge contrast to his foster family. His foster parents were pretty young. His so called mother was a beauty blogger and his father was a crappy car technician. From day one they were clear that they never really cared for him. They treated him like dirt. They never got him any toys as a kid; they never got him cool gadgets as he grew up. Even if Jinho brought home good grades they didn’t care. The abuse only started when he was ten. They would make him do the house chores, run errands, and if he made a mistake, he’d get plates thrown at him and get a few slaps here and there. Sometimes he wouldn’t even get food. Jinho never understood why they treated him the way they did. He became more and more reserved and secluded himself from everyone. To avoid home, he’d always run off to the library after school, where he fell in love with literature. Books were his life, and the librarian was the only nice person in his life. The teachers at school didn’t pay him much mind; the kids didn’t hang out with him since he refused to talk to them. He was scared that others would treat him the same way his foster parents did. He never even called them mom and dad. He called them by “sir” and “ma’am.”

It wasn’t until he was fifteen where the situation at home got worse. His parents started throwing punches and kicks if he ever talked back or made the wrong move. At that point, Jinho had given up. He completely rebelled against his parents since he just grew tired of their . He wasn’t afraid anymore, just annoyed. He ignored their rules and did whatever he wanted to do. But he never fought back when they beat him since he knew it was hopeless. His foster parents were both stronger than him anway. So he just took the beatings and went on with his life. It was much easier that way. That is until he met Hoon. Jinho was at the library as usual, and Hoon just so happened to be reading the book Jinho was going to read. Annoyed, Jinho just sat nearby waiting for him to finish. Hoon noticing this approached him, asked him if he wants to share, and Jinho agreed. They kept meeting like that, and Hoon would always try to start up a conversation with him since the boy was so quiet and eerie. Definitely not your typical fifteen year old. Jinho would shoot him down but Hoon was adamant. Over time Hoon managed to crack the boy with his bright personality and intelligence. Jinho actually liked him. They grew close and it was only a matter of time before Hoon noticed the scars. After weeks of pestering and digging, Hoon finally found out about Jinho’s family life. He immediately took action, to the dismay of Jinho since he didn’t want to create more problems. Through a long process, Hoon finally managed to get Jinho out of the toxic environment and find him a new loving family.

At first, Jinho was cold to his new parents. But they were patient with him, and were generous and kind. They reminded Jinho of his birth parents…well at least what he could remember of them. It took a while, but he finally warmed up to them. Now he cherishes them deeply, and they cherish him. His father is a computer technician while his mother is an interior designer, so their home life is good. Jinho never asked them for any gadgets, but they always equipped him with new things. At first it felt weird for Jinho, but he slowly grew used to it. He was always thankful. He made sure to make them proud. He was also set to make Hoon proud. Hoon was the only person who reached out to him and made an effort to get to know him. Jinho looked up to him. Hoon was basically his saviour. Around Hoon he was always playful and childish and Hoon saw past Jinho's reserved self. Basically Jinho loved Hoon as an older brother and wanted to be someone like him. Generous, smart, intelligent and charismatic. Hoon was also the one who encouraged Jinho to follow his dream of being an author. As a result, Jinho would often coop himself up in his room, working on his book. That’s the reason he kept blowing off Hoon. He was so determined to make him proud that he never realized he was unintentionally ignoring him.

 Jinho was half way through with his book, so he finally decided to come out of his nest to share a bit of it with Hoon. So he called. Ringing. Ringing. No answer. He called once more. Again, no answer. Strange. Hoon always picks up. Always. Jinho was a little concerned but he thought nothing of it. He tried again the next day, and the next. On the third day, Hoon’s brother showed up at his doorstep. Jinho was never close with him, but he was somewhat acquainted with most of Hoon’s friends and family. He relayed the news and at first Jinho though he was joking. When he saw that he wasn’t, Jinho was angry. He had to be joking. Hoon can’t be dead. He can’t. He kept yelling at him to quit the joke, it wasn’t funny. He once again said he was serious and Jinho threw a punch at him, and ran outside crying. His saviour, his hero, his role model, his only friend, the one person who actually reached out to him is suddenly gone. At first he was angry, then upset and then guilty. He ignored him. He didn’t protect him like how Hoon protected him. He failed him. He was ashamed. So ashamed that he tore his book and threw it out. He didn’t go by Jinhoon anymore. It was Jinho.

//// the plotline ////

FUNERAL / Jinho was completely stoic the entire time. He already cried his heart out before the funeral. He couldn't focus on what anyone was saying. His mind was just filled with guilt. How could he let this happen? How did he not see the signs? Hoon was his only real friend and helped him with his problems, but Jinho never listened to him. He thought that he should have treated him better, spent more time with him rather than writing that stupid book. He couldn't even cry. He just looked straight ahead, with no expression. He didn't look sad, nor shocked, nor did he look guilty which was how he was feeling. He just looked numb. After the funeral he was the first one out of there. He couldn't take it any longer. He just went home, and went to bed without a word. He didn't want to think anymore.
PAST / Jinho might not have been Hoon's best friend, but he was Jinho's only friend. Jinho looked up to him like a big brother. He admired and adored him. Every praise Hoon made towards Jinho, made him feel so honoured. Hoon basically gave a family to Jinho, and that's something Jinho didn't know how to repay. Hoon saw him as a little brother. He had some problems, but he knew that Jinho is a sweet kid. He knew he looked up to him. He adored the kid. However when Jinho went off to write his book, Hoon started to feel like Jinho was shutting him out again since Jinho never told him he was writing the book. He would shut down the plans Hoon made, and with everything else going on with his other friends, Hoon felt very neglected. Jinho didn't know though. He just wanted to make his role model proud.
present / At first, Jinho's reaction was to completely close off and just shut everyone out, even his beloved parents. However he quickly realized that if he couldn't make Hoon proud when he was alive, he would do it in his death, to honour him. He decided to grant Hoon's wishes of spending time with his other friends. It was difficult though. He decided to re-write the book he previously destroyed. Before the book was just about some murder mystery, however he decided to write a book as a tribute to Hoon. He decided to write about Hoon and how he impacted so many different lives. Basically their story, though he will need to get the approval of the others first. This might be somewhat difficult since some may not want to share their story. However he’s determined. Although he is still guilty about Hoon's death, he feels that all of them had some part in it and should accept it. All in all, he's trying to come out of his shell.  For Hoon. To make him happy up there in heaven.

coffee

► Cafe Mocha; The first drink Hoon made Jinho was cafe mocha. Ever since then, that's been Jinho's go to coffee drink.

Iced Mocha Latte; Jinho first got it when it was a hot day and he didn't know much about coffee (he still doesn't). He saw “iced" and "mocha" and thought "well I drink cafe mocha so this has to be good too." This has been his summer drink.

Chocolate Frappuccino; Something Hoon recommended when Jinho was craving something sweet.

//// the end ////

FINAL WORDS / Yikes did I write too much? Or maybe not enough? OTL I don't even know at this point. Hopefully I'm good! Anyway, I proof read this thing like five times. Hopefully I didn't miss any mistakes e.e Please forgive me if I did >.< I don't know if I made his past too dramatic but hopefully you're okay with it~ I tried to have Hoon's death have some positive impacts on him since I figure that everyone else is gonna' be all depressed. It'll be interesting since the one who's always like ", don't talk to me" is gonna be like "yo...let's be friends and stuff."
SUGGESTIONS / I feel that my character specifically won't get along with the closest character to Hoon which is presumably the best friend since to Jinho, Hoon is his best friend.

SCENE REQS /
► Jinho trying to convince people to let him use their story for his book,  and people disagreeing saying that it's personal and Hoon's death isn't something to make money off of. To which of course Jinho gets mad at and tells them the book is to remember Hoon by and bunch of going down because YeY drama!
►Jinho struggling to be social and outgoing
► It'd be cool if his love interest (if he has one) is someone opposite of him, like all bubbly and cheery and stuff, but it's cool if it's not like that.
