One would expect a rich child with super busy parents to be distant from them, but in actuality they are very close. They all try to make time for family, and although sometimes it doesn't work out, they all care for one another. Joo Hee would always travel around with her parents, mainly to the U.S in the summers, because her parents' companies other branches were mainly there. So as a result, Joo Hee picked up the English language fast. She would also have private English lessons too.

+ how you me(e)t : The two always knew of each other, but never met personally. She knew him because he was the university's hot bad boy, and he knew her because she was the queen bee. He honestly thought that Joo Hee was a , and she thought he was hot but a jerk. The two officially met after Joo Hee's assistant interviewed all the people who signed up, and picked him as a potential guest to the island. Joo Hee was notified first and went to personally interview him, because honestly, she didn't think it was a good idea to invite him.
When Joo Hee was at a bubble tea shop near the university (with that cute worker Hana that Joo Hee was fond of because she always got her order perfect) she saw that Mark there too and saw her chance. She went up to him and asked him why the hell he signed up for her trip. Mark obviously already did not have a good impression of her before, and now he had even a worse impression of her now. He told her that he has every right to go on the trip, and asked her why the hell was she targeting him. Joo Hee being Joo Hee told him because she thought he was an and TA-DAH~ Mark spilled his bubble tea on her designer shows, smirked and walked away. As you can imagine Joo Hee was pissed off. I mean her precious shoes were ruined! She wanted to rip his throat out. Sadly for her, all her friends actually liked Mark a bit after they talked to him, and they forced Joo Hyun to letting him come. What a beautiful start to a future relationship~

They're pretty similar in personality, so it's even worse because they're both the type of people who would not get along with people like themselves. In his point of view, he finds it amusing to mess with Joo Hee and to piss her off. He thinks she's a spoiled brat that needs to learn that she's not the center of attention all the time. He always teases her, accusing her of being in love with him and obsessing over him. Although she admits that she might obssess a little (you mean all the time) she says it's only because of the hate she has for him.
