background / milan was born in honolulu, hawaii. she was the third child of a korean mother and a hawaiian father. milan grew up with her older brother,alexander and her older sister, alicia. milan was the one who loved sports a lot. she started football at the age of five. she was a little beast in that sport.

 

she had no mercy when she was playing. milan played a lot along with her older siblings at sports. as she was growing up, her older brother started to have a passion for hiphop music. she followed right behind him. she loved hiphop music and she would rap along the songs with him. that is pretty much how she got into hiphop. milan was around 12 when she became a lover of hiphop music.

 

later on, in high school, milan and her older brother both were always playing around to diss each other in raps. that was how she started to rap her own lyrics. it would be hilarious how they would do rap battles against each other around milan's and alexander's friends. they would record their raps for fun and produce their music. it was simply for fun. when her older brother finished high school, he left to south korea to make music. he had some contacts and he knew that he could make it better than if he stays in hawaii.

 

milan finished high school and got into seoul national university in mathematic-informatic. even if she went to university full time, she did make time to join a hiphop crew. she was the newbie of the female hiphop crew named amourette which features: kitty b, nieah, seri and hoddy. milan went by the name milly as an underground rapper when she had time. she did gain attention and then, she auditioned for sm entertainment.

✖ mother :: song haeryung (51) / high school teacher / kind, caring, fun / 7 out of 10 with her mother, milan loves making crazy pranks and jokes. they make pranks on kian and the two pairs of twins. they have a close mother - daughter relationship. she's always the first person that milan calls when she's feeling down or when she needs advices. when they see each other it is always them hugging each other and milan kissing her mom. they cry everytime they see each other at the airport.

alexander's twin, alicia. her sister is very close with milan. during their childhood they used to fight a lot for no reasons. when they both joined volleyball, they were always in the same team. they started to share everything together and even little secrets. even now, alicia is teacher biochemistry at the national seoul university in south korea. she texts milan everyday and they talk on the phone often. when milan has free time, she would go meet alicia at the gym. they share so many weird stories together and inside jokes. they are very close.

kitty b is milan's best friend. when milan joined the amourette team, kitty b was the one who took care of her and helped her a lot with her rapping. she helped her with her technique and her flow because she knew that milan had the skills for it. the two girls together are probably the worst together. despite their age gasp, they get along like two crazy girls. they are always loud and play around too much. even if milan doesn't like aegyo, kitty b is the only one milan accept the aegyo. since milan debuted, kitty b loooves to make fun of milan being just a lead rapper and an idol haha. she says that milan is an old idol and milan always have to roast her for fun.

hoddy is milan's second best friend. milan is called the koala by hoddy because milan can be clingy on her whenever they are together. hoddy isn't on the crazy side, but she doesn't mind with milan's fun part and being loud sometimes. she is always there enjoying the moment with kitty b and milan. on some rare moments, she would join in the craziness of the two girls. milan likes to call her "mom" for fun because she always take care of her and she calls her often.

✖ girl, i love this color so much. her favourite color is turquoise and white. the reason why is because turquoise reminds her of the water on a beach and it has a relax feeling to this color. she loves white because it matches everything.

✖ of course, girls can be a sport lover too. she is a sport lover. she has been playing volleyball since a young age. plus, she was quite good in other sports like basketball, soccer and she even knows how to surf and snowboard.

✖ this type of color makes me blind af. she really hates neon colors. she seriously can with those colors. she feels like neon colors can makes her go blind af.

✖ they aren't beautiful, they are evil. this is her ultimate phobia: butterflies. people thinks that butterflies are cute and . milan is deadly scared of them. when she was around 8 years old, it was raining outside and she decided to go outside to "eat" the rain drops. she opened and suddenly, a butterly went in . by reflex, she closes . the butterfly was still in "flying". she ended up coughing it out and ran back home with huge tears. that's why she's so scared of butterflies. so when she sees an actual living butterfly flying she would run her life out or end up crying like crazy. she fainted once because a butterfly flew too close from her.

✖  first year. milan's first year under sm was mainly focused on her korean language and starting by understanding the cultural difference between us and south korea. so, her actual training in vocal lessons and dancing lessons were not as intensive. then, as soon she got a little bit better, they started to add more hours of musical training. which made her life harder in less than six months after joining the company.

✖ second year. her second year was very busy in the company. she trained for hours everyday except on sundays. yet, even if she had sunday free, she would try at least to train two or three hours. her singing improved better than her first year. but, she still got critism about her tone. she had to learn to fix those mistakes. they had to give her more hours in singing. the dancing class was ok. since, she was an ex-underground rapper, her rapping was considered one of the strongest rapper of the company. she was the only girl who auditioned for sm as a rapper rather than the company who gave her a position as a rapper. then, sm entertainment announced that they'll debut a girlgroup. being friend with irene, milan worked harder. she got chosen for the lineup of the group, then, she got dropped last minute when the comapany changed their mind. it made milan so mad. she got over it and gave herself a last chance.

✖ third year. her third year was a long year. she received offers from her friends to join their companies and finally debut as a real artist. milan didn't wanted to. she said that she doesn't want to give up yet. so, she worked even harder. then, here comes the new that another girlgroup will come along. milan got chosen again for the line up. it was a hard year and six months for her. milan saw few of her trainee friends leave and some joined later. it was very stressful and milan kept working hard. she knew that if she doesn't improve she'll be remplaced by someone who's more worthy.
