Background : Jiyeon is the 2nd and last born baby of Baek Jihyuk and Baek Ahri. Their family is not well off, but being the youngest Jiyeon, would usually gets what she wants. (mostly her mom opposes but her dad insisted to spoil her.) Ahyeon was 3 years old then. She treats Jiyeon with love and care because she has long wanted a playmate and a sibling. Growing up, the two are the closest to each other in the family since their is not a big one. Jiyeon would refuse to go for any family occasion if her siser couldn't come due to her school or singing classes. Being the awkward turtle she is, Jiyeon is uncomfortable to mingle without her sister, Ahyeon. Basically, Jiyeon wouldn't want to go anywhere without her sister. Being close to her sister who loves music, Jiyeon develops the same passion. Different is, while her sister is into ballad, Jiyeon prefers English pop or Korean hip hop. However though, Jiyeon would sometimes dance to the ballads Ahyeon would sing. That's their favourite past time. Dancing is also a thing she would do to get away from emotional issues normal teenageres face during puberty.
In 2012, Jiyeon heard about the reality show, Kpop Star. She knew it was a big chance for her sister. So, she encouraged her to join. But Ahyeon wouldn't go to the audition alone so Jiyeon had to audition as well. Though she know she wasn't ready and wasn't good enough, Jiyeon didn't want to ruin the great chance for her sister. She went to the audition for dancing, and the judges wasn't exctly convince so they ask her if she had another talent. Being a close friend to Minjae, and a big fan of K-Hip Hop, Jiyeon showed her decent rapping skills and thankfully she passed the prelimary round. But it was only up to that. Her sister who audition for singing got into the top3. After Jiyeon got eliminated, a JYPE casting manager called her and ask her to come for an official audiiton. She had to recover her confidence so she decided to go for it. Though the judges said she had a lot to improve, she was accepted as a trainee and was told to work harder. It was even before Ahyeon signs her contract with JYPE so it hurts her pride when people says the company let her stay training despite her slow progress, just because of her relation with Ahyeon.

Personality : Baek Jiyeon wasn't born with talent. Rapping and hip hop is a passion she slowly but diligently pick up during her ealier teenage year. She wasn't really good in her studies too but determine to make her parents proud, she works hard and never fail to be in the top 10 ranking among her peers in school. She later on figures that only doing good in school won't get her far in life. She, who at first didn't have any dream, started to try a lot of different things to find her dreams. Due to her indecisive mind, she had a hard time to decide on her dream. Few of the choices includes, fashion designer and a chef before she finally set her mind to focus in music especially rapping.
She's a strong will girl that takes time to decide her stance. But after a lot of thinking, she'll decide and never look back. The bad things about this is she's stubborn and has a really high ego for a girl. Because she thinks long and hard before deciding something, she feels like she know about everything andready to face the worst possible outcome. Hence, she doesn't take advices well. Even if a person manage to change her views, she'll take a lot of time to process that she could be wrong. She states her opinion about something, rather sternly and seriously. This is what makes some thinks she's scary and offensive, at times.
Because she cares and thinks about others a lot, she can be called a thinker and observer. This makes her quiet most of the time, but she does know when to have fun. She's quite sensitive and more aware of her surrounding. She takes the littlest time to notice if someone is troubled. But she definitely is not expressive. Instead, if she notices her friends are having a hard time, she'll offer a hug, a pair of ear to listen to their problems and a shoulder for they to lean on. She may not be good with words verbally but sometimes before she goes to sleep, she'll text them words of wisdom hoping she can give them some strength to stay strong. Why are you rivals : Momo is a genius in dancing, while Jiyeon is working her hardest to improve. But Momo would constantly make Jiyeon feels bad about herself indirectly. During dance practices, Momo would say something like "Didn't she get in for dancing? Then why is she so awful?" Jiyeon knows that her dancing skill is just decent but she certainly didn't need someone to constantly remind her that. She get discourage a lot. On the other hand, Momo finds Jiyeon's rapping skill to be amazing and is jealous of her but of course she wouldn't admit, being a person full of pride.

He's passionate and pours his all into what he's doing, especially music. Seungcheol is always supportive and encouraging. Being the leader of the group, he shows that he's responsible and takes great care of the people around him. He's lovong and affectionate. He expresses his love and feelings well which sometimes make Jiyeon feels bad because she's bad at expressing her feelings verbally. The downside is, Seungcheol can be impulsive and immature because he's the person that listen to his heart well and sometimes may not use his brain. Driven by mostly emotion, Seungcheol sometimes would feel down and thinks that he lacks a lot. As a boyfriend, Seungcheol gets jealous quite easily.
How you met : They met at a music show. Just like the tradition, rookies would greet their seniors and sometimes even gives out their album. Miss Muse was doing the same. That's the first time they meet each other. But Jiyeon has long adore Seungcheol as S.Coups, the leader and rapper of Seventeen. How you act around each other : Jiyeon doesn't find any trouble to get along with people that approach her first. Their contradict personality makes them closer and more comfortable with each other. When Seungcheol talks, Jiyeon would listen attentively and vice versa. They also shares just about everything including their worries and comfort each other. When Jiyeon does a y concept or had to pair up with a boy, Seungcheol would get protective and jealous. While if it's Seungcheol who works with a girl, Jiyeon try hard not to show her jealousy but often fails miserably and end up being mad at him. He shows his feelings well through actions. He's a caring and supportive friends. He's also a hard-working guy that is passionates about music more than anything else. But he's smart and studious, he still goes to college despite being a singer.
How you met : Younghyun or as Jiyeon calls him 'Brian' is a friend of her sister, Ahyeon. Ahyeon had jokingly told Brian to take care of Jiyeon as they were both still trainee at JYPE while Ahyeon had start her activities as a celebrity so she was busy. Surprisingly, Brian took it seriously and takes great care of Jiyeon.
How you act around each other & why is he a love rival? : Brian treats Jiyeon like his own little sister but Jiyeon on the other hand, doesn't like to be treated like a baby unless to Ahyeon so she was kinda annoyed. But Brian took this to teases her. He would call her 'Baby', but soon change to 'Giant Baby' as she grew taller, just to annoy her. Jiyeon purposely calls him by his first name informally, acting like they're friends of the same age and Brian would act like he's mad when he really doesn't care about formalities since he's from Toronto. They play around each other like this. But when Jiyeon is having a hard time and since Ahyeon is busy, she would look for comfort from Brian. And when it's Brian who's having a hard time, Jiyeon would try and comfort him. They share their troubles and take care of each other like close siblings. Being extra close, they couldn't help but to develop feelings for each other. But none of them said a word and now that Jiyeon is dating Seungcheol, her feelings fade. But not Brian's. Since's Brian is not an idol, Jiyeon could hang out with him more freely than with Seungcheol so to that, Seungcheol would often feels jealous.

How did you get in the agency? : After she dropped out of JYPE, Jiyeon went to audition for YGE. This time she audition with rapping. But the staffs also wanted to see her sings and dance, so she do both. Jiyeon got accepted mainly thanks to her powerful rap, but they also mention that she got a lot of potential in her vocal and dancing.
How were your trainee days : The 1 year at JYPE was harder. She didn't have friends beside Brian. Jiyeon was always at the risk of being drop out because her dancing is improving rather slowly than other trainees. Her powerful rapping was not JYP style, so it wasn't charming to them. And her singing, well most of other trainees are better. After a lot of thinking, Jiyeon feels like JYP didn't appreciate her talent and she didn't feel like she belong there. So, she drop out and go for YGE. There, it was different. She have other trainees like Mei who would help her with dancing rather than ridicule her like Momo did. They definitely appreciate her rapping style better. Though it was still a hard phase at YGE, Jiyeon constantly reminds herself of situation back at JYPE and it would motivate her to work harder. Since Jiyeon think of her past experience at JYPE as a motivation, she didn't hold any grudge or anything towards the company and the trainees there.
