appearance: okjung is usually regarded as one of the smallest and thus the cuter side, and people do agree - yes, she is cute though not the cutest, but then what do you expect from her? alas, much of this adorableness is refrained to first impression. closely observe, she isn't your perfect doll. she looks matured. her lips and teeth are so incredibly small, but bigger jaw, her nose structure isn't that high or sharp, if not for the make up magic. her eyes look large in comparison to her other features. she has a naturally straight black hair until chest which she often hightlighted with darker brown, ear piercings on each ears - left | right - and a birthmark that resembles of ribbon on her left wrist. her body is quite meaty and muscular. she has been a little chubby and never too thin since her birth despite everything.

"i wasn't an easy baby"
okjung was born prematurely and weighed in at 4.2 kg at birth. during her mother's pregnancy, water had filled her stomach, which led okjung to become a premature birth. bile was unable to be passed through her intestines, which eventually damaged her liver, causing a biliary atresia. although the required surgery had low chances of sustaining life, she was able to survive the 10-hour long surgery.
a year later, however, she was diagnosed with intussusception (a medical condition where parts of the intestine folds over into another section of the intestine) and received surgery for enterectomy. she didn't have any side effect during growth except to the fact that she need to do medical check up every months until she was 7.

okjung never has known the joy of having a mother in her life, since she had died during labor. her father grieved deeply for this loss and later sent heebin to her grandmother as he believed that her grandmother can take care of her better. and yes her grandmother managed to raise his only daughter well. having a great relationship with her built on love and trust,
okjung didn’t miss anything that a child needs to have in their development. they weren’t that rich, but not exactly poor either and they always could manage to get enough food for the both of them to keep them satisfied and healthy. she never has had a lot of luxury in her life, but also isn’t the type of person to want such luxury.

her grandmother has taught her everything she knew about life. showing the world to her on an early age and how it exactly worked. although she also had high expectations from her, which okjung tried to fulfill every times. leading her to have good marks at school and to soon start and help her with her work whenever she could.
besides this she also had a basic training in martial arts. her grandmother knew that maybe one day she would be not be in her protection anymore. and thus since her grandmother didn’t want to lose her only grand daughter as well, she decided that it only would do her good if she would have a basic training. okjung went along with this, since she knows the fear her grandmother has to lose her and indeed a basic training couldn’t harm her.
"dancing is one of the gift."
okjung's late mother, jeongim used to love singing and that's why her father, seongil decided to enroll okjung in one of the art school in gangnam. okjung showed great interest in dance and english pop music from a young age. she spent most of her break and lunch times practicing dancing. okjung started spent time learning and playing music instruments herself during early middle high school. She played bass.
"is this a dream?"
in 2011, her grandmother, seeing how her grand daughter loved music, suggested she audition for korea-based jyp entertainment, in the end she failed. but as she made her mind already, everyone know nothing can stop her, she practiced and practiced and finally sign up for an audition at jyp again which finally accepted her.

after some years of training in the company, she was getting closer to some trainees especially with jirongie and jaebum.
a month after sixteen members revealed, there was a phase where she was been feeling down which lead to some unhealthy decision. despite her skills, she thought her fatness was the reason that hinder her from debuting earlier. she had ran away from home after being disheartened.
no one except for jirongie, not even her family nor jyp, knew where she was. she lived hidden for about 3 days and was once sent letter to her grandmother. she even got an extreme diet like not even drinking water for 2 days.
okjung finally went back to her family after the 3rd day of hiding. after five years of training, the news was released that okjung was in the line up for 7heaven's debut in 2015.
