OK so I am watching BTS's I Need U MV for a few times (many many times actually). And then I read the comments, which are mainly about how the seven lovely boys wrecked their feelings and the long prologue theories. But when I read the lyrics I just think of something else.

Why are the boys being so sad and having suicidal thoughts? From the lyrics, it looks like it is because they break up with a person, a girl, that they cherish and love very much.

I don't think it is a break up though. I think people will have the same thoughts as me but do not sound out their opinions, or I just missed the comments, but I am going to say it anyway. 

It's not a break up.

The girl passed away.

Why?

Here, RapMon is rapping about how he is trying to talk to the supposedly dead girl. This is shown by how the lyrics go "I’m just talking to myself again, talking to myself again". Well, a dead person cannot reply you, right? And also "You’re not saying anything, please, I’ll treat you well", again, a dead person can't speak.

Let's go on to the second part:

"Why is it you? Why did it have to be you?"

In here, Jin is maybe, maybe singing about why the girl died. A chronic illness, like what happened to the girl in BigBang's MV, Haru Haru. This links to the next part (actually the first part),

This is J-Hope's rap part. The girl might be hiding the illness from him, hence the words "All of the things you said are like a mask, It hides the truth and rips me apart".

And the main part! The chorus. The part where they went

I need you girl I need you girl"

"You are beautiful". Well, all girls are beautiful. So this is not so important. But the next sentence "You are so cold", it suggests that as the boy is looking at the cold body of the girl as he mourns over her.
