Yoon Ahra was once the princess of the mermaid kingdom. However, she had an unconquerable thirst for knowledge and adventure; she set off from her home after being exiled around the end of the renaissance to explore the human world. Little did she know, while she was having the time of the life learning and exploring, her whole species was anhiliated.
Although she may seem fiesty, sassy and a bit too much of a genius sometimes, underneath that dignified manner, she's actually just a softie that worries about her friends. She knows that alot of her friends have gone through some crippling losses and Ahra tries to help them out through her own way. She's pretty much like the groups psychiatrist. She didn't get those Psychology degrees for nothing. She's perceptive as heck and she notices almost everything about almost anyone in the group. A part of the reason why she actos so tough is also because well she is and also because she's a bit of a competitive person. She's ambitious and wants to do something great with her life, and she believes that she willl. She just doesn't know what yet. She's actually generally a social creature, but shuts up around most men. She kind of just views them as territorial, hormonal and irrational beings. She hates wasting her time, so she usually won't even talk to them, but Baekhyun is the only one that peeves her enough for her to snap back. Ahra has also had a few relationships here and there, but they have always ended badly. She's afraid to let herself love a man because she's been heartbroken so many times. She believes that justice is the advantage of the strong, because social hierarchy was something that was created by the elite. It's also her way of saying too bad, it up. If you want to change something, aim to be the top because only then can you change the bottom. She is also a great politician and has the ability to get along with everyone, even if she doesn't neccessarily like them. She has a great pokerface when she wants to have one. She also has lots of connections from everywhere because she's lived in so many places.

Ahra is fully aware she is gifted. Even though she doesn't trust guys at all, she knows from centuries of experience that men find her attractive and that she is intelligent. And she isn't afraid of using her brains or beauty against you. She hates stereotypes. Ahra also does not like dealing with idiotic baboons, aka Byun Baekhyun and narrow minded people. She also hates it when people underestimate her. Why is every intelligent person portrayed with glasses and a terrible sense of fashion on TV? Why does every other human assume that she has no IQ or an ounce of intelligence just because she's pretty? Her brain works mighty fine, thank you very much. But she uses these assumptions to her advantage. Surprise is the best element to an attack one could ask for.
She's not cocky in the sense that she'll verbally say that she's the best, but she has a tendency to look down on others mentally when she first meets them. She tends to assure herself that she is better than these people (especially men) because some little part of her is still fighting against the prejudice she fought against as a woman 200 something years ago. She is a politician and can get along with everyone, but she rarely approves of someone capabilities.

Although it's hard for her to open up about herself and approve of others, once she likes you, she'd do anything for you. She's loyal and a fighter. She fights for what she believes in. She is usually very collected, mature and more of a go with the flow kind of person (unless she's on a mission or feels very strongly about something). She's not too picky about what she does as long as she isn't wasting time. She's an adventurer and likes trying out new things. She also usually always has something to say about a situation, whether it be sassy or intelligent. She's also the group counselor. She's super empathetic and combined with the her perceptiveness and nosiness, she almost makes it her business to check in with the groups mental health.

She's not a pushover, and she can be dominating when she's voicing her opinion because she's confident in her perspective and answer. She's a negotiater and she's assertive. Ahra is fearless, she's not afraid of anything, but she's not reckless. She says what she wants to say and is sometimes a bit of an intimidating personality because she speaks with so much passion and authority.

Although she rarely portrays emotions besides sass and disapproval, she's actually sensitive. She wants to be praised. She wants to fit in to society. She wants to be accepted for who she is. She actually takes everything to heart. So every once in awhile when Baekhyun will throw some harsh words at her in the middle of their spats. It hurts for her because although she's confident in her abilities, she's never been confident about whether people will accept her for her true self. Ahra can be a bit judgmental at times, but she's afraid of being judged herself. She covers up this most vulnerable part of her with sass, intelligence, charisma, and a facade. And because she's defied social conventions for so long, such as race and and inequality, she's afraid that society will never accept her. She's afraid of being alone and showing weakness to others because she knows weakness is only another advantage to the strong, but she believes in what she does. Therefore, she says what she wants and follows throughout with her actions, but is always afraid of facing the consequences alone. However, Baekhyun, since he throws so many insults at her, is the first to realize that perhaps his mate isn't as strong as she looks and teaches her that its okay to lean on someone.

I LIVE FOR ME AND NO ONE ELSE
PAST ⁍ Ahra was the youngest princess of the mermaid kingdom. She was born into a time where women didn't have much rights. She was a genius since her childhood. However, her opinion was much of the time ignored. She always tried to her head into things that weren't socially acceptable at the time. She tried to give political advice to the ministers. Ha. That didn't turn out well. Those stubborn old geezers wouldn't know brilliance even if it smacked them up front down the face. However, she always wanted to know more. She hated the idea of being property and she always tried to speak out against it. Even then, she was self righteous and intelligent. She wanted to learn and even though she wasn't supposed to, spent a lot of her time at the library.
Even moreso because of her beauty, she was treated as a prize. Ahra, like most princesses, was betrothed at birth. However, that didn't stop her from falling in love with someone else. She fell in love with Jung Seungho, another noble in the kingdom. He was handsome and he understood and treated her like a human being. Or so she thought. Her fiance, Juno, was a self-entitled man with a high ego, who never understood why Ahra didn't throw herself at him. One night he visited her chambers drunk out of his mind. He tried to force himself on her. She defended herself. She chucked a piece of furniture at her fiance, causing a head injury. She was put on trial. She thought that Seungho, her lover was someone she could trust. However, it was revealed that Seungho had been hired by her fiance to spy on her, and Seungho revealed that she had been studying in the library. Knowledge at the time, was thought to ruin a woman. Woman should be docile and not be heard. It was clear Ahra was beyond "redemption" and they exiled her.
At first of course, she felt betrayed. Her first love ratted out all her secrets and had gotten her banished from her home. From there on, she decided not to believe in a thing called love; men were selfish, egotisitcal and manipulative. Ahra would just have to make sure she did better. Love was just a deception of the mind; something men used to hold back women. However, she realized it was an opportunity for her to explore the outside world. She was finally free from the world that saw her as a doll and a trophy. And explore the outside world she did. She arrived in Europe towards the end of the Enlightenment. The ideas of individual liberty and tolerance and the scientific revolution: it all fascinated her. She was a pupil for some of the greatest philosophers and inventors. She followed wherever human discovery took her. She lived in France, Greece, England and even America for civil rights movement of the 1960's. Her experiences in her homeland had made her a strong, strong feminist.
However, she never stepped one foot in Asia. She didn't want to be anywhere near her family that deprived her of an education and her rights. It wasn't until the early 2000's she finally stepped foot (fin) near her kingdom after her banishment had expired. She missed her older sister. She found her kingdom obliterated. destroyed. anhilated. gone. She had returned to see how much her home had progressed, to bring them out of darkness and into enlightenment only to find that her home ceased to exist. She took residence in Korea to try and figure out what happened to her kingdom. One day she was at the docks, ready to go underwater to examine the kingdom once again... until she ran into the girls and one of them pointed out that she wasn't human. Ahra panicked. She had never considered other magical creatures in the equation. Perhaps some other magical race wiped the mermaids out. She thought that perhaps it was a climate change or something. Ahra tried to run, but of course, some of the girls, being vampires, caught her. She tried all sorts of things, using her powers to fool around with their senses, but they just kept coming back to her because the girls wanted to get to know her. Eventually Ahra decided that the girls were harmless and that she actually found the rest of the girls interesting. And from then on, they lived together.
POWERS ⁍ Ahra's powers can be enhanced if there is water in general near her. A bathtub full of water works, but the closer she is to sea or some other source of water, the more effective her powers will be. Her power can also be enhanced during full moons because full moons pull the tides back to shore. If mermaids are in the water in their true forms, the water heals most sicknesses, injuries and diseases. Mermaids are immortal and cannot be killed by sickness or time unless they choose to give up their immortality. However they can still be killed by other means. They turn fully human if they destroy the necklace that allows them to walk on land. Their necklace is the essence of their souls and provides their magic to stay mermaids and immortal.
— Like every mermaid, she has the power to turn invisible.
— She also has charmspeaking abilities. She can compell people to do whatever she wants, but its much more effective on the opposite gender. She can manipulate mens' emotions, rationality, magically seduce and make men feel attracted to her. However this ability does not work on mermen.
— She can control the weather
If her mood is really ty, she might summon a storm accidentally. Although she has the power to control weather at will, her emotions, if strong enough can influence the weather.
— Luck manipulation -- mermaids in mythology are signs of either really good luck or bad luck -- that's because they can manipulate it. Ahra can make your luck as good as or as bad as she wants as long as she wants to. She can also manipulate an object's luck. For example, she can make a coin lucky-- the person carrying the coin will have very good luck.
— If a mermaid's necklace is taken away, it can provide immortality to the person who takes it, but it kills the mermaid. If the mermaid willingly destroys her own necklace, then the mermaid just turns into a human. Unbeknownst to Ahra, this is the reason why mermaids all but her have gone extinct. Other mortal creatures hunted mermaids to extinction for their necklaces. However, if a mermaid gives away the necklace willingly without being coerced in any form in an act of selflessness, the necklace can provide immortality and even save the wearer from death, and the mermaid would be able to switch back and forth in between a mermaid and human at will.

FAMILY ⁍ Ahra is the last of her kind and was once the youngest princess of her kingdom.
   — Older sister / Yoon, Nara / 23 (when they last saw each other) / goofy, 4-D naive, easy going, dependable / Son Dambi Nara was the best older sister anyone could have ever asked for. She was understanding, easy going and was always there for Ahra. Sure, she was a little weird and goofy and sometimes super out there... but nevertheless, she supported Ahra in getting an education and standing up for herself. Ahra didn't really care about what happened to anyone else in her kingdom, but she doesn't want to admit to herself that she's the last mermaid on earth. Byun Baekhyun does not like losing. He's also vengeful. If you prank him, expect to be pranked back. He gives what he receives. He always feels the need to prove himself. He's not afraid to play dirty to win what he wants. He's also cocky. He knows girls find him attractive, and unlike Ahra, he fully embraces it. Baekhyun is used to crowds of girls fangirling over him and loves it. He loves being in the spotlight and he loves being the centre of everything. He also has a huge ego. He believes that a man should be able to handle his woman, that a man should be stronger than a woman, that a man should not cry and all the silly machoism things that drive Ahra insane. Byun Baekhyun always has a comment to add. He's not the type of person to stay quiet. He's blunt and often times people laugh because they think he's joking when he really isn't. He has a way of mocking people if they get on his bad side and sometimes he has such sharp words for you, you don't even know how to respond. Try not to get into an argument with Byun Baekhyun. Baekhyun doesn't really like being alone. He hates going out to eat alone and always wants someone to come with him almost everywhere excluding the bathroom. Once he's close to you, he really opens up to you and leans on you for favors. For example, Chanyeol is sometimes (almost all the time) grumbling about something Baekhyun asked him to do, like "hey yeol, can you bring me my keys and my lunch?" Baekhyun is a forgetful dude and tends to leave his stuff everywhere. He's also really cheesy when showing appreciation. He'll say something like "Yeol you're the bestest man a straight dude could ever have and I'm sure if I were a girl I would totally--" yeah. Chanyeol cut him off before he could finish that sentence.

Byun Baekhyun is BI-POLAR. One moment he's flirting with Ahra, and the next he's totally pushing Ahra away and is riling her up with yet another competition. One minute he's your best friend, and the next minute you wish he never showed that embarassing picture of you to the whole group from kindergarten. Yup. He's that kind of kid. He's impulsive and often acts or speaks without thinking. Baekhyun doesn't understand himself very well, which is why he kind of is bi-polar and acts without thinking. It's usually because he doesn't really know what he's doing. Baekhyun is also spontaneous in the way that he doesn't like schedules and perceives time. He loves following his inspiration and living life in the moment.

Baekhyun is dense in the way that he's not as perceptive as Ahra is. Sometimes he hurts people with his words without even realizing it. And because he has an ego and is stubborn, he dislikes apologizing. He has a firm ideology and doesn't like reshaping how he thinks or behaves. Baekhyun is also one-track minded. He does not stop until he reaches his goals (like Ahra). Baekhyun is also ignorant in the sense that he's not cultured in literature or the classics like Ahra is.

Byun Baekhyun is a master at making friends. He knows how to charm his way into people's hearts and he's super friendly and laid back. He's not very uptight, enjoys spontaneous activities and excurions and loves exploring.

Byun Baekhyun is honest. So honest that some of the truths he tells you downright can horrify you. He will never hold back because of a social convention. However, although he has an *ahem* higher than average sense of self-esteem, the dude actually cares for his friends. One time, he dragged Chanyeol back home even though they were both heavily injured through a storm. Baekhyun tries to do the right thing (not including girls and his love life here) most of the time, but its just that sometimes he's ignorant of things.

SUMMARY ⁍ Byun Baekhyun was born as pretty much werewolf royalty. As a born werewolf, he was admired and worshipped by pretty much everyone. Since girl pretty much flocked to him left and right, the dude lost most sense of his manners and morals. However, his parents never paid any heed to him. They already had his older brother, Baekbeom, as the heir. No one really needed him. So Baekhyun left and joined EXO. The love and attention he never received from his parents he found from girls. That was probably when he first started objectifying them. Byun Baekhyun is a little bit of a ist. He thinks guys should act a certain way and that girls should act a different way. (Which annoys Ahra to no end) Byun Baekhyun is a man who's confident, sarcastic, spontaneous, charismatic, funny and a bit impulsive. Byun Baekhyun loves seafood and sashimi (which kind of freaks Ahra out). Byun Baekhyun actually has a gigantic sweet tooth. He loves desserts and baked goods of all sorts and sometimes steals them when Ahra isn't looking (which pisses her off). Baekhyun also likes to pull aegyo on Ahra (because he knows she claims she hates it but actually loves it when he does it). Ahra will always act digusted and shove his face away but will have that beautiful smile on her face. Byun Baekhyun knows how to play piano and can really hit those high notes with his awesome voice (ah, another source of his ego). He'll always take a compliment with a hair flip and say "I know. I know I'm irresitable and awesome.". He kind of says it as a joke, but he's also ⁍ PLease, the world needs to know how awesome i am⁍

SURELY YOU HAVE THAT SPECIAL SOMEONE...
  FIRST MEETING ⁍ Byun Baekhyun used to think he could get any girl in the world. He thought every girl would love to throw themselves at him. However one day, Byun Baekhyun made the fatal mistake of hitting on Yoon Ahra with a dirty cheesy pick up line on a dare from his friends while she was walking down the street. Turns out that she's his mate. Whoops. Yeah. Yoon Ahra hates people who think girls are easy and tries to pick up girls for fun. She also perceived that Baekhyun was doing it on a dare. She could see his friends peeping out from the corner and that annoyed her. Right then and there she labeled him as an . She turned him down straight up and left him there ruthlessly. Baekhyun soon realizes that that was his mate he just offended, but he doesn't know how to really approach her. So he makes the mistake of approaching her like he has with every girl he has had a fling with. Probably not the best choice he's made in his life. Yup.
RELATIONSHIP ⁍ Can Ahra just say she has never met a more infuriating person than Byun Baekhyun? The dude practically has ignorant and rude written on his forehead and the two bicker to no ends when they see each other. His sarcastic remarks piss her off. For the love of god, why can't he just let Ahra finish what she wants to say without interrupting her? He never understands why he pisses her off unless she spells it out for him and then he forgets the next day. Ugh. Since they are both competitive, one remark leads to another. Ahra is usually a collected and mature person, but Baekhyun is the only one that really seems to have a knack for irritating her. Ahra can never tell how Baekhyun feels and can never anticipate what he's going to do next, which makes her on edge, because she's usually a pretty perceptive person and doesn't like not knowing things. Baekhyun just seems like a bomb that'll blow any minute to her. Ahra argues with Baekhyun all the time and actually originally views him as a waste of time. However, as time passes by, she realizes that she almost enjoys her squabble with Baekhyun. Especially when Baekhyun falls sick/injured one day (whatever works best with the plot) she feels kind of empty and alone. That's when she realizes that he was something more than someone to argue with for her and starts realizing that he's not just a pest. Ahra does realize with time that Baekhyun's not as bad as a guy as she thought she was, but she hates being wrong, so she would never actually admit to that. Other people find Baekhyun and Ahra's relationship amusing. Besides the fact that Ahra is waaay more intelligent than Baekhyun, the two have a lot in common with each other. And ironically, its their common traits that annoys them the most about each other. For example, Ahra and Baekhyun are both sarcastic, witty, confident, charismatic and competitve. Ahra could go on for days about how she was planning to sledge down Byun Baekhyun's ego with a sledgehammer one day and Baekhyun could go on about how Ahra was way too competitive and never let anything slip without a declaring a winner. Baekhyun and Ahra argue over everything and anything. Even though Ahra is like the laziest person in the world, they'll race each other. Why? Ahra apparently doesn't want to lose to the scum known as Byun Baekhyun to anything. They have philosophilcal debates (or at least they try to until Baekhyun gets distracted and starts cracking inappropriate jokes). Something about the other just infuriates them enough to respond. Other people just kind of watch their squabble only to realize that they're actually serious about battling it out. Their respective friends see the chemistry and are just counting down the days that they'll finally see how they fit for each other. People who know Ahra find it fascinating how Baekhyun completely riles her up. People who know Baekhyun find it fascinating Baekhyun has respected his "competitor" and how he hasn't made out with her yet. I mean come on. Ahra is an attractive girl. *shrugs* Baekhyun also doesn't let people know how cocky he is unless they are super close to him. So when Ahra rants about how Baekhyun is an idiotic cocky moron, the other people at school stare blankly because Baekhyun has the popular kid, chill, god like image. Little by little they begin letting a part of themselves show. As each competition passes and they fight they learn about each other. And each truce they call brings them closer together.
CONCLUSION ⁍ When Baekhyun first tells Ahra that he likes her and that she is his mate and that he's a werewolf, she laughs. Ahra tells him she's already known that he's a werewolf and was wondering when he was going to tell her. Ahra and Baekhyun are friends by this point and she's known and seen all of his lady friends before. She knows he likes easy girls and she doesn't play hard-to-get; she is hard to get. She tells him that straight up, and Baekhyun laughs. He says something along the lines of, you know I don't stop until I get what I want, don't you? Well-- what I want right now is you. Ahra flicks his forehead and tells him that was too cheesy and he's going to have to try harder. Ahra finds it hard to believe that she might just be his mate because... well haha, destined to spend a life with Byunbaek? What did she do in her past life? Ahra thought he was joking, but over time, she realizes that he wasn't. Ahra finds it hard to believe Baekhyun because he's just so bipolar and impulsive. He's said things that hurt her feelings. But he's also done the sweetest things for her. Sometimes he just treats her like how he treates every other girl. Ahra finds it hard to trust men. She was almost by her fiance. She was sold out by her first love. And Baekhyun doesn't always make it easy to trust him. However, Ahra feels the pull too. She finds herself coming back and forgiving Baekhyun as he matures through for HER. Their relationship is like a roller coaster, and it's really ironic because they actually do have very similar personalities. Even when they get together, they have problems. They're the couple that's either really happy and head over heels in love with each other at one moment in time or either about to rip each other's throats out. Sooner or later, Baekhyun discovers that Ahra isn't as strong as she seems. She's actually sensitive and has been holding the words he said to her to heart. He breaks down in front of her once he realizes how hurtful his words actually could be. He couldn't believe how his words had started to destroy the girl he fell in love with. He didn't mean it. But he begins to realize that actions speak louder than words and he made it his mission to get her to trust him. Baekhyun from then on makes it his goal to teach Ahra how to love. He wants to teach her that it is okay to lean on someone else, that she doesn't have to fight this world alone. Through this mission, Baekhyun learns to be accountable, to be more mature, to be humble and how to treat Ahra like the girl she deserves to be treated throughout their fights, spats and arguments. Why? Simply because he loves her and he knows she deserves better.

FAMOUS LAST WORDS ⁍ WAU mad props to anyone who actually reads all of this app. It's quite long and lengthy and I think the longest I ever spent on one app, but I got really into creating her and really tried to give her virtues and vices! Oh also, I hope you didn't mind, but I've written apply stories before, and I really appreciated it when one applicant gave me bullets for personality with a short paragraph underneath to explain what they meant by those words they chose to describe the personality, and I found that wayyy more helpful than just a paragraph of personality traits all over the place and searching for a trait within the paragraph when the time came, so I hope you didn't mind that I did that! Please let me know if there are any plot fallacies in my app that would coincide with what you have planned for the story and I wish you the best of luck on your story! I've been a big fan of it so far!
SCENE SUGGESTIONS ⁍ After Ahra and Baekhyun end up together, Ahra confesses that the pickup line Baekhyun used on her was utterly stupid when they first met. Eventually somehow that developed into a cheesy, creepy, bad pick up line conversation. So every now and then they'll throw bad pick up lines at each other to see who can find the stupidest, cheesiest pick-up lines. The second or third time Ahra and Baekhyun meet, the hallway is crowded for lunch and his hand accidentally is squooshed against her . Ahra literally turns around, gives him the scariest glare he's ever seen on a face that pretty and tries to bend his wrist only to realize that Baekhyun is way stronger than he looked. (Yup those Hapkido lessons came in handy one day) Baekhyun thought to himself. Ahra is persistent, so she just knees him in the balls and scoffs and says ert with a look of severe discontent. Baekhyun, in his humilitation says something stupid without thinking: something along the lines of how Ahra fights like such a girl or something like that (a remark that would piss of a strong feminist like Ahra) and they almost get into a fight.
