PERSONALITY TRAITS : For what I envision for this character, Taeyoon has two distinctive personalities. Himself and JR. Taeyoon is who he naturally is. JR is his dark half, the voice inside him that has been conditioned by the world and its expectations who is unexpectedly cruel. Taeyoon wants to believe that there is still good in him, but throughout the course of the story, he should be having inner personality battles and slowly losing control of himself to JR.

PERSONALITY : Taeyoon was once just a child with big hopes and dreams craving acception and approval. However, after going to the Silver Military and working up the ranks, a new personality, an ego emerges: JR. Taeyoon is loyal, just, fair and thoughtful, while JR is merciless and vindictive. Taeyoon notices that he's changing into something that he never wanted to be... but he can't stop it. Taeyoon fears JR is another part of him buried inside. He keeps resurfacing. JR:

Although Taeyoon had heard dark voices in his head when he was younger, they never really impacted him or took shape in anyway. The first time JR actually materialized and formed inside his mind was when he saw his sister spiralling out of control after Chanyeol betrayed her. He saw RED with a burning desire to end them all. Every. Last. Ungrateful. Pest.

Psychologically speaking, JR is the exacerbated formation of Taeyoon's hatred for reds. Taeyoon has always despised reds despite the fair-weathered fellow he actually is. But when they harmed his sister, his intensified hatred took shape and form and represents his last resort and response to his stress and the troubles of the world.

JR looks just like Taeyoon, but in Taeyoon's imagination, has silver white hair with red eyes, has a signature crooked smirk and exudes darkness.

- when JR first awakened, Taeyoon heard a voice in his head: let me take over. I will make sure HE suffers. I will make sure they ALL suffer. JR is the voice in Taeyoon's head that screams for revenge. JR is patient and a schemer. He waits for Taeyoon's weakest moments to try and convince him to hand over the reigns of control.

- JR is manipulative. Although he knew that Taeyoon deeply cared for Seyi, he sent her off as a spy into the rebellion. JR cannot empathize or see the emotions Taeyoon had for Seyi. He just thinks rationally and sees her as a strategic value.

- JR is always vying for control of the body. He will tempt Taeyoon with many offers or taunt him with threats or promises. He is a literal snake who just wants to have his way. JR is also formed subconsciously because Taeyoon wants to be loved but cannot find someone to show him that affection. JR is the vision of what Taeyoon believes the world wants him to be and therefore is the opposite of all his weakness and will mock Taeyoon for his "weaknesses" and will try and convince him it is better for JR to be in charge.

Even if Taeyoon will try and argue for them sometimes, JR will not hesitate to shut him up by reminding them of what he did to his sister. JR sees all reds as worthless, ungrateful pests.

- JR is blunt and will not hesitate to push truth in Taeyoon's face. Or others' faces for that matter. Once JR starts to take over, Taeyoon's soldiers and comrades should see a stark difference in Taeyoon's leadership style. JR does not hesitate to blame others and point fingers and take responsibility as Taeyoon would have.

BACKGROUND :

As the eldest son of the Kang household, Kang Taeyoon was born with everything, yet nothing. He had everything he ever wanted, but he never received the one thing he craved the most as a child: his parents' love. He was raised with little affection, his parents believing that affection would spoil his future talent and abilities, and they raised him like a robot. With a small nod of the head for approval and a cold hard steely gaze for the other, his parents had super high expectations for him and Taeyoon as a child was constantly stressed and upset that all of his parents ever wanted from him was to continue the family line. They didn't care about what he was like as a person. Taeyoon as a child was respectful, full of integrity and virtue, however over time, his parents' expectations' and the world corrupted his soul.

He worked harder and harder to meet his parents' expectations only to find out there was no roof, no limit. The harder he worked, the more his parents shrugged off his achievements, as if they expected him to be born this way. Taeyoon began growing cold to the world. Nothing brought him joy anymore and he began to think only in rational and logical terms, becoming the robot for the country that his parents had conditioned him to be. But Taeyoon was a person, too. All he craved was love, but day by day, he became more silver and less of himself. Cold and unforgiving.

Taeyoon was taught from young from his relatives and teachers that Reds were trash, things barely worth living that existed to serve Silvers, the almighty beings who they should be thankful for. However, this intense hatred for reds had not surfaced until his sister was betrayed and JR surfaced from his agonies and stress. He finally snapped psychologically speaking, and separated himself and the silver his parents wanted to be. JR was born. To protect Taeyoon who was not ready for the world. To cover his weaknesses and be the nasty one to get the work done. To help cover Taeyoon's guilt of never being a good enough son.

Taeyoon was sent off to the military as soon as he turned sixteen, and he slowly worked up the ranks. He is currently the Major General of the East, Commander of the Nu'est Division.

Taeyoon somehow feels responsible and swore to himself that he would get revenge for her.

▸ Fiancé — Lee Mina (22) / nymph / silver / clingy, jealous, insecure, demanding, ambitious / 3 / Mina was his fiance since birth. She is a daughter from one of the elite nymph houses. They are on civil terms with each other, although Mina has an infatuation with Taeyoon. She loves his power. The fact that he is related to the future queen and that he is one of the youngest well-accomplished generals. In fact, she starts liking him more when JR starts to take over.

PERSONALITY (OF THEM BOTH IF YOU HAVE TWO) :

▸ To Taeyoon, Seyi is a little girl who is afraid of trusting others. To him, she is a magnificient flowerbud too scared of the rain to bloom. He sees past all her negative traits and sees her for who she truly is. Perhaps its because he met her before JR had materialized, but she is the most "human" red, no, humane person he knows. Seyi is strangely attracted to him and feels the need to repay her debt to him. (bc perhaps she's using her debts as an excuse to stay closer to him?)

LOVE STORY :

▸ [THE BEGINNING] The two of them first encountered each other in their early teens. Seira (Seyi) was being bullied by peers and tried to commit suicide by jumping off a bridge near Taeyoon's manor. Taeyoon had no idea she was red. He just saw a petite girl with purple hair about to jump off the bridge. Instinctively, he used the metal on his wrists to grab her and haul her back up.

Seira looked up to realize a silver had saved her. His cheeks flushed with a grey hue as he looked into her eyes. Taeyoon was too enchanted by her appearance to realize she was a red. The scum he didn't understand. However, he understood her. He asked her what was wrong and at once he understood her. All Seira really wanted to do was have people accept her as she was. She wanted to love and be loved for who she was. Much like him.

At once, he felt an instant connection to her. He felt a strong urge to protect her and guide her. He answered her as how a silver would. "Strength and Power. "They seek to bring you down because you have something they don't. Make use of that power. Do not let them think you are weak and do not show them mercy." At the time, Taeyoon was confused. He thought that if he tried enough, if he had enough strength and power, people would eventually come to love him...

▸ [THE REUNION] Years passed. Seira became 18, and Taeyoon became 22 and a lieutenant in the Silver army. One day, his fiance pestered him to go see this fortune teller with her to see their future together. As soon as he walked in, he recognized her. Something in his heart lit up at the sight of her and in that moment all he saw was her. The same need to protect her, to guide her down the right path struck him again.

After getting his reading done with his fiance, Taeyoon made an excuse to get rid of her and came to see Seira again. She was even more beautiful the last time he saw her. The two gladly reunited and caught up with the past years of their lives. Even though there was an and a difference in station, the two talked as if they had been friends over the past ages.

After the two had reunited at Seira's shop, the two of them fell into something unescapable. At first, they were just friend and confidants. Taeyoon came to Seyi for military help and decisions since she was really good at predicting the future, and both of them confided in the others' secret. He deeply cared for Seira. And later on, he nicknamed her as Seyi, which is the name Seira uses instead of her birth name, saying that Seira reminded him of a puppy following him around.

▸ [TAEYOON'S PET] Kang Taeyoon has never tolerated reds. He always saw them as animals: ungrateful, weak and powerless. However, Seyi was different. Perhaps it was because she was raised from a wealthy red family, but she seemed so human-- so silver. From the way she dressed and talked. Even when they first met, he only saved her because he thought she was silver. After the two had been reunited, he felt a strange magnetic pull to her, even though he already had a fiance.

Although he loved getting to know her, he hated liking her. She made him feel things that he had never felt before. And that made him afraid. After he had met her a few times, the deep dark voice in his mind (JR) kept telling him to use her. To betray her. She would be such a valuable spy if placed into the guard.

However, this wasn't yet when JR had taken form and was before Chanyeol's betrayal. At first, he really did truly care for her.

Shortly after he started getting close to Seyi, the whole Chanyeol- Miyoon fiasco happened. All he saw was red: the color he wanted the guard to bleed and burn. JR then started taking over his relationship with Seyi. JR made sure that she was in deep. He made her his pet. He had deepened Taeyoon's relationship with Seyi with one goal in mind: to use her as a spy.

They slowly began pushing the boundary of friends. They are swimming in a grey zone with Seyi too afraid to ask him, to clarify what exactly is their relationship. They both occasionally flirt or do things that friends wouldn't. Taeyoon does these things because he likes Seyi but knows he shouldn't. JR does these things to purposefully get her to fall for him. And it drives Seyi crazy because she knows she shouldn't be doing this kind of thing.

When the time came, he would have tamed her just like a pet, eager to please its master, ready to do his bidding.

And Seyi was too blind to see the true him. She saw him as her savior and crush, which is exactly what JR wanted.

Taeyoon requested she go undercover as a spy for him in the Scarlet Guard. She agreed. He also asked her to up Park Chanyeol for his little sister. Even though she liked Taeyoon, she agreed. It was too late to save her own soul; she had already become his pet. She was conditioned to live on his approval. JR had taken advantage of the part of Seyi he understood most.

He should have felt accomplished and proud that his pet had finally done what he trained it for.

But then why did Taeyoon feel so empty?

Why did he keep missing her?

ENDING : After Taeyoon sends Seyi into the guard, the two still keep in touch as Seyi reports back to him. Taeyoon gets jealous, even though he realizes he's the one that asked Seyi to seduce Chanyeol. Taeyoon realizes his feelings eventually and realizes that he had taken advantage of Seyi all along. Will she ever take him back or will she choose to love Chanyeol as he wished?

OVERVIEW :

At first, Taeyoon is still in control, he starts befriending Seira and having feelings for her. Nicknames her Seyi. Both of them enter a grey area in their relationship. Not exactly friends but not exactly lovers.
Miyoon is betrayed by Chanyeol, JR fully emerges, starts taking advantage of Taeyoon's relationship with Seyi. Taeyoon caves and starts listening to JR as he starts manipulating Seyi.
Taeyoon starts to consciously condition Seyi to live on his approval with JR's advice. JR slowly starts gaining control over Taeyoon's conscience. Seyi starts to notice Taeyoon is a bit bipolar and that he's low key using her, but at this point she's too deep in to stay away from him.
Taeyoon requests that Seyi go to spy on the guard. She agrees and meets Chanyeol there.
After some time, she starts getting to know Chanyeol and slowly develop feelings for him. But she can't deny how attracted she is to Taeyoon. Seyi contemplates. Taeyoon notices how happy she is recently and starts getting jealous. Emotionally abusive relationship heightens.
Later on, Seyi finds out how Taeyoon has split personality disorder. But at this point, will she choose Chanyeol or Taeyoon? Can she overlook what an emotionally abusive bastard Taeyoon / JR has been and change him or will she be able to finally teach Chanyeol what love actually is?
