trainee life ::

aein trained for two years under starship. during her first year, it was quite hard. it was mostly focusing on perfecting her korean and ameliorate her singing. she didn't much took time to make friends under the company. she only had few friends. she passed her time practicing and learning korean. since she understood well korean, she had to learn how to talk proprely, extend her vocabulary and make difference between informal and formal. her singing was quite basic, enough to be accepted in the company. it was more about using her stomach, not the throat, her breathing technique and dancing+singing at the same time. during her first year, she got lucky and danced with sistar.

 

her second year in the company wasn't that bad. it was the time that she moved out of her shell. she started her rapping classes and her dancing classes with other trainees. it was during that time that she started to get more friends. she met jooheon and i.m during that time, who were in her rapping class. she made also other friends in her dancing class. she danced with sistar during her second year too. even thought everything seemed to work well, she knew that starship wouldn't debut a girlgroup soon. that was the reason why she left the company. she auditioned for sm and got accepted. she left starship after two years under the company.

 

when she became an sm trainee, it was hard for her. sm's way of training was more harsh than starship's trainee life. it was truthfully a competition. her trainee days in starship was more friendly than sm's. a lot of trainees were clashing together. aein didn't let anyone put her down. if someone tried to step on her to make herself feel lower, than you are wrong. aein was all ready to stand up for herself and it is what she did if someone tried her. she did had some problems with two or three trainees who tried to put her down or bully her. if anyone tried to bully someone for no reason, you can see aein stop them right away. she did made only one friends, taeyong, who was in her rapping class. it was also during her time in sm that they suggested her to get double eyelid done and also, wearing invisalign ["invisible braces"]. she did got her eyes done and even now, she wears invisalign.

— (fabulous boy) jooheon is the type of boy that aein dream to date. he's someone confident in himself. he doesn't like to show any weakness. when he's totally mad, he'll not show it. he will just tell you that he didn't liked what you did. he's pretty honest with everyone. he prefers to tell the truth without to be too harsh or rude. he's very patient. he can wait one hour for you and he'll do it without to complain except if you totally exagerate. he's very honest when he doesn't like something, he'll tell you that he didn't like it. romantic, he's totally a romantic boy. he love giving gifts and flowers to girls and he's sometime cheesy. he has a crazy humor. he loose fooling around and tease the younger members. despite his charismatic image, he's a guy full of aegyo and craziness. his personality is so bright.

( meeting ) : they both met in their rapping class. everyone had to to a rap small rap battle, girls against girls and boys against boys. the two winners has to get paired and do a duo to perform in their monthly exam. aein and jooheon were the two winners and they had to prepare together their monthly exam. the first day, they didn't even worked that all. they ended up fooling around and joking like two crazy people. they did work the next days later together. their friendship bloomed into a relationship later on.

were you part of smrookies? if so, what did you think about being exposed to the general public before your debut? what did you feel about the concept of sm showing off their young trainees? if not, what did you think about the trainees of smrookies?  I wasnt part of the smrookies,but i personally think it is a good idea for sm to show the trainees to the public. it's a good way to bring the attention and to give " un avant-goût" [ a small peek] of the talents. every members of the smrookies have their own outstanding talents to show.

 

a lot of trainees are nice. some of them a quite... a character? i won't say any names or anything. first of all, the trainee life is mostly a competition. everyone wants to achieve one dream; it is to debut. not everyone will succeed, and everyone knows that. so, of course some people will clashes together and be on a bad term. i personality did had a bad term with few trainees and to be honest, i'm not the type to let anyone step on me for fun.

 

i personally prefer working with the foreign trainees. i grew up with people from all over the world back in canada. since most grew up away, we understand each other's opinions or their hurmor and personality in general. i can relate with them more than korean trainees in general. some people [korean trainees] thinks that my humor is just being rude while i am just joking around.

 

if i debut as part of the nonagon, i think that many things would happen. i can see many fans following us from all over the world. i know that there would have very hard time to be able to have a place in the industry. also, a lot of bashing of being a nine membered girlgroup like snsd. 

 

if i don't debut, i'm thinking of going back to school or maybe going back to my older company, starship. i said earlier that not everyone will be able to debut. it's true! i think that i'll try again and if it doesn't work another time, i'll understand that it wasn't my way and i'll go and study in nursing. 

 

i was selectioned to be part of one of the sm pre-debut group, but i refused. it was simply a decision of mine to refuse. i heard a lot of things about the pre-debut groups, and i know myself that it wasn't a good idea for my mental health. i'm someone strong minded and if someone step on me, it is going wrong.

 

i was born in montreal, canada. my parents are both korean. my family was pretty much in the middle class. my father is a police officer and my mother is a nurse. i have an older brother who's five years older than me. his name is kyuin, but he prefers to be called by his english name, korey. i kind of grew up in the shadow of my older brother. he was the little genius of the family. he had good grades, he was athletic, he was popular then, there was me who was the lazy little kid who was just-korey's-little-sister. my parents didn't pray much attention to me because of my average way of thinking. despite the lack of attention from my parents, i had the attention from my favourite aunt who lived 10 minutes from my home. i would pass my day with her and my aunt was a musician. she composed many songs for few french canadians artists, like simple plan, eric lapointe, marie mai. it was her who introduced me into the music world. i started singing songs with her and eventually, i got into rapping a little later. i was around 14 when i got into rapping. at school, i was known as the littlle sister of korey and no one noticed me until, i started to step over people who were bullies. i was pretty much "the bully stopper". that's how i builded my strong personality. i was also part of the cheerleading team in middle school and in high school too. there was drama everywhere in the cheerleading team, but you know what, i didnt cared. if it didn't touched, me then, everything was alright. when i got 16 years old, i told my parents about being an idol, they totally refused. it didn't stopped here. my aunt talked to them about it and my dad finally gave up. he accepted with only one choice, if i can't fail to debut two times. if i fail two times, i'll have to go back and study. i finished high school at 17 years old and aunt gave me a graduation gift. it was a trip with her to seoul for the whole summer to visit and also to go see my grandparents. so, i flew to here and during the vacation, i saw that starship entertainment had an audition. i auditioned for them and got in. i trained for two years and left. i auditioned for sm and got in. i trained for a year and six months. and.... here i am today in front of you guys! tadam~! /laughs/

 

 i think that my charming personality is one of the qualities that i have. i'm someone who isn't afraid to be fun around people and i think it's something important to be able to reach the audience and fans. also, my languages abilities for the fans who are outside of asia. i can communicate with fans from europe and america without problem because i know how to speak french and english fluently like a boss /laughs/
