APPEARANCE » yiseul's hair is naturally black, but she dyes it every few months to spice things up, sometimes just even letting the color fade and turn back to the original color if she's too busy. in the past, her long strait hair has been brown, pink, grey, and is currently blonde with visible brown roots. her makeup routine is pretty normal; concealer, light blush and eyebrow filler, mascara, lip tint, and some reddish-brown eyeshadow completes the look. standing at 162 cm and weighing 50 kg, her body type could be considered petite but comes packed with some mini-abs from her hobby of running.
FASHION STYLE » 'cute but deadly' is her style motto. she's all about the aethetics of it. pleated skirts with a line at the bottom, see-through tank tops with cool designs through them, cute socks, and caps are what you see her wear often. she already has a pale complexion and gothic vibe to her, and all the monochrome colors she wears definately enhance that look.

when you first see yiseul, you might notice she's quite indifferent; she doesn't hang with a particular group of people, nor does she looks like a person that is completely isolated at the same time. no one truly has a good idea of who or what yiseul is, she's more described as a enigma of colorful hair and admirable athletic skills rather than a active member of society. she goes with her own flow and often doesn't talk to anyone unless if she absolutely needs something, if not she perfers to take care of personal matters on her own. just because she doesn't have many selective friends doesn't mean she is alone or sad at all. in fact, she feels lots of pride in who she is. she has a calm and sedate aura, not putting much worry into life's everyday drama and wild happenings. it's almost respectable how professional she is even when being put in a considerably bigger spotlight. that is, that's all what she appears to be like from the outside perspective.
on her view of the world, thing's aren't going so hot. she is truly tired of life even when she's not doing much. she gets bored and has a nasty habit of finding ways to critisize others, whether it be out loud or behind their back; she's judgemental and has high standards for herself and (unreasonably) for others. with a dull, monotone, slightly intimadating voice, your opinion about her admirable collectiveness would disappear immediately once she opens . the reason why no one knows about yiseul is because they don't dare to. her sharp tone can cut your ego in one go. she's quite offhand and blunt when it comes to telling you the truth, or more so, her opinion about you. you don't expect it coming from such a girl that is so seperated from everyone else. yiseul isn't one to spread rumors, but don't find it to be a surprize once you find yourself in an embarassing situation from the spite of a sneaky 5 foot 3' tall young woman.

BACKGROUND »
sang yiseul was born in new york city to an american mother and korean father, on november 7th on the year 1996. her father and her immigrated from korea after he met and married her mother back in korea. growing up in america was nice, she lived in a upper-middle class enviornment, thanks to her parent's well-paying jobs, mostly from that of her mom with an already-established career in america. things would have been different if she grew up in korea, which yiseul's cousin, heo jina, was born in the same exact year on the other side of the world in south korea, did. their parents planned to fly back to south korea every other summer vacation or so to connect with family members, and so yiseul could meet and possibly befriend her same-aged cousin. well, they did meet, but friends? that's something you can't decide on.
jina and yiseul first met at age 6, and through communication issues, they were already off to a rough start. at this point yiseul was not fluent in korean, and it was sure as heck that little jina had not heard much english either. when put in the same room together, they'd always fight over toys and argue over childish things. their parents didn't think much of it, and since then, every time yiseul would visit korea, they'd force their friendship since their families were so close. fast forward 8 years, it wasn't until then that things between these two cousins really began to burn up. it was jina's 15th birthday, of which yiseul was forced to attend, and because she wa so pissed off at her because she originally planned to spend the day for herself, yiseul though it was a good idea to smash jina's head into her beautifully made cake in front of her friends right before blowing her candles. ruthlessly, her plan went through. there, in front of jina's good friends, was a humiliated jina and a hysterically laughing yiseul. jina was now known as 'miss cake-face'. they didn't want interact much since that incident.
now age 19, 'miss cake-face' long had worn out of jina's life, she found amazing best friends and a loyal boyfriend. things were going well for her now that yiseul wasn't involved in her life. she doesn't even remember her 15th birthday, maybe because she desperately didn't want to in the back of her mind. this summer, yiseul got to fly over to korea on her own, because she was now of legal age and independance was all she needed. yiseul was packed with clothing, personal items, and most importantly, her medical pills to treat her extreme claustrophobia and anxiety she gets during long plane rides that cause panic attacks (diagnosed during her trip to korea during age 10). jina and yiseul saw each other during one required family meet up, but they remained very distant.
at the end of the summer and yiseul was ready to go back to america, jina was visiting yiseul's apartment to say bye, she was already too late, as jina was ready to board her plane that day. yiseul noticed some containers with long words and urgent-looking notes written on them in english in yiseul's cabinets. she soon pieced things together and realized these were yiseul's medicines that she'd forgotten! she rushes out of the house to retrieve these cruicial items to her, knowing yiseul might be in serious danger without them. in the car, she recieves a text message that results in a car accident that sends her to the hospital. with no clue of what had just happened to jina, yiseul did result in having an attack, but doctors on the plane treated her with no severe harm done.

dad - sang kihyun - 41 - korean language high school teacher - expressive, intelligent, supportive, nosy - kihyun tries to bring out the less serious side of yiseul with his witty 'cool-dad' personality, but after all these years, it's obvious his plans have not been successful. she usually gets annoyed, but yiseul teases her father's weird anitcs for fun to nicely assure that she doesn't totally hate him.
mom - emelia sang (ellis) - 40 - nurse - reserved, hardworking, irritable, uptight - emelia doesn't mean to be a passive-agressive mom, it's just she needs to keep an eye out for her only daughter and make sure she's making the right desicions in life, like every mom should. from her soft-spoken personality, perhaps its apparent how she doesn't have the greatest grip on a fiery yiseul's life choices. yiseul is a little more disconnected from her mom compared to her dad.
TRIVIA »
☁ → yiseul always ranked in the top of her class in sports, especially in running, sometimes even surpassing the fastest boys in her class. she feels energized and happy after taking a nice run or jog.
☁ → she finds peace in watching and listening to rain. her alarm clock are literally rain sounds which obviously don't work, making her fall asleep again. it gives her an excuse to her parents that she is indeed using an alarm clock.
☁ → she attends univeristy in new york, majoring in engineering. its the easiest major and she is honestly thinking about dropping the school because what the hell is she supposed to do with an engineering degree if she ever even gets it?
☁ → yiseul buys everything she wears online, very rarely going shopping in physical stores, making her a self proclaimed professional at scavenging for online codes and coupons.
☁ → she owns a fat black and white bunny named lily who always looks frightend and confused.
☁ → her online sns is instagram, @eden.sang, where she posts the common aesthetic, featuring her clothes, her bunny, and random cool looking corners of her house.
☁ → she has never dated anyone, nor does she really want to. she's starting to contemplate if she's aual.
☁ → she has gone to korea and back for a total of 6 times, at the ages of 6, 8, 11, 14, 18, and most recently 19. she plans to stay this year a little longer than usual to be with jina while doing college work over the computer, possibly even living in korea permenately and transferring schools.

WHAT IS YOUR SECRET? » i was an incredibly ty friend to her. would i have even be considered a friend to jina back then? i ed up her reputation. i messed with her insecurities. i honestly ing hated her because of one mistake when we were little and the only reason she was still involved in my life was because she's my cousin. she was too damn kind, she tried so hard to save my life even after all the crappy things i did to her, and in the process she nearly lost hers. like do you understand that kind of loyalty can't ever be compensated for? i don't really want to live with this kind of grudge against her anymore. jina never hurt me.
HOW DID YOU REACT WHEN JINA GOT INTO THE ACCIDENT? » i was halfway across the world. when i landed in new york, i received a text message from aunt heo about what happened to jina. i thought it was just a little crash; no harm, no havoc. that is until a few hours later when aunt heo sent me pictures of her condition at the hospital, and she was ing wrecked. i had no idea. as time went on i kept getting more info and reports about jina. things about memory loss and who was in the car with her. but what really made things clear for me was that she had multiple pills and medicines in her bag. she wasn't taking them for herself. they were for me. at that point i began to cry. she tried to save me from my panic attacks because i'd forgotten my medication in korea. she could have saved my life.
HOW HAVE YOU BEEN HELPING HER NOW SHE'S WOKEN UP? » i was so scared when seeing her back in korea after my trip. i thought she's still remember my name at least, but she was totally blank. that's really sad, but in a way it's become a fresh new start for me and her. i think she actually likes me and i'm doing my best to be nice to her. it's so weird, i've never treated her this way but it feels nice.
