Wingless Angels

Description

...because there will always be angels who weren't meant to fly.

Foreword

Jiyong wasn’t sure where he could hide. The heavy footsteps behind him were getting closer and closer as his lungs begin to run out of air. He can’t even remember how long he’d been running anymore; he lost count when the police managed to corner one of his “friends”. His eyes widened upon seeing a tiny cul-de-sac on one side of the alleyway he was running at. He instantaneously turned there and kept on running as hard as he can.

He wiped the raindrops blocking his vision using the back of his hand. His whole frame was drenched with rainwater, but the dried blood remain etched on his skin. Upon remembering about the blood, he felt as if the spots of his skin covered with it were burning. His chest was heaving hard as his speed began waning. The weight of the coagulated blood resting against the patches of his skin was far more burdening compared to the tiredness lazily creeping on his bones.

Now he wasn’t sure if he still wanted to hide.

He wanted so much to reverse time; even just the past twenty-four hours wherein he managed to devastate his life even more than it already was. He mentally scoffed at the thought. This is a talent, isn’t it? He conversed with himself. Wrecking your life so much that it probably doesn’t resemble a life anymore.

Slowly, his legs start to give in to exhaustion. He leaned against the wall and slid down. His breathing was labored and he felt as if his lungs were giving out. He’s quite sure that the authorities will soon locate him and lock him up. The police believe that interrogating people like him was useless. Of course, why bother talking and listening to a druggie when it’s far easier to put him behind bars and blame him for everything? No one would listen, anyway.

No one would listen.

The narcotics flowing through his veins were losing its effects as the adrenaline began to fade. His dilated pupils were losing focus; his head cocking to the side until he felt the rough asphalt rubbing against his right cheek. What a boring way to die, Jiyong thought to himself as he slowly blink his eyes over and over in hopes of correcting his hazy vision.

It didn’t take long before sleep took him away.

This was inspired by BTS' I Need U MV. The prologue had been stuck in my head ever since I watched the music video haha. Tbh I'm still thinking a lot abt this story's development, but I'm just excited to put it up lol. That's all!
