I stood among the crowd of fans awaiting the arrival of Korea’s hot rising boy band Infinite.

I’ve been here since seven in the morning and the meet the fan session doesn’t start until five in the evening.

Why I don’t sound enthusiastic?

Maybe it’s because I did not come here willingly.

“you ah, stop spacing off!” scolded my best friend Shin Hye.

“Aish.. my legs hurt” I complained.

“Just a few more minutes, please. It’s already four forty five”

She put on her puppy face and I couldn’t say no.

“Fine”

It’s not that I dislike the band.

They’re pretty great and I have to admit, but I seriously did not enjoy waking up early in the morning and end up squashed like a sardine among thousands of people.

“you, did you bring your album?” asked Shin Hye suddenly.

“I think so…”

I started to rummage around my bag until I felt something rectangular and hard.

I pulled it out, and there it was, their latest album.

“Yeah, I have it”

“Great, I can’t wait!”

I could see how excited she was and I just chuckled.

After a few more agonizing moments, the emcee finally took the stage.

Screams could be heard from all over and I thought I might go deaf.

Afraid of getting lost, I held on tight to Shin Hye.

The emcee talked about some random gibberish which I did not bother to pay attention to and finally left the stage.

There was silence for a few moments as the boys did not enter the stage nor did anybody approach it.

As I was about to say something, the stage then lit up and like magic, the boys appeared out of nowhere.

At least to me, it seemed like they popped out of nowhere.

Shin Hye started jumping and screaming like a mad fan girl and I soon lost my grip and got pushed to the back.

Sighing, I quietly stood at the back and watched.

They were singing their song from their recent movie ‘Grow : Infinite’s Real Youth Life’ entitled Together which was composed by Woo Hyun.

Coincidentally, my favourite song.

Halfway through the song my phone vibrated in my pocket.

It was a text message from Shin Hye.

; Shin Hye

you, have you lost your way? I’ll meet you by the side of the stage after the autograph session, okay?

No, I did not lose my way, I just lost grip of you and got pushed to the back. Okay, I’ll meet you there. Please don’t go running off somewhere else.

As I stuffed my phone back into my pocket, a bright spotlight shone onto me.

Reaction upon reflex, I lifted my hand up to shield my eyes from the bright light.

The girl beside me then shoved me towards a clearing that lead up to the stage.

“What?” I asked.

“You’re Sung Yeol’s partner for the game! He chose you!” she explained.

I stared stupidly at her and she just shoved me again.

Unconsciously my legs started to take me towards the stage, up the stairs and towards Sung Yeol.

As I stood in front of him I snapped back to my senses.

He smiled at me and I blushed.

I politely bowed and greeted him and he did the same.

I was then Woo Hyun’s turn to pick a partner and I took the opportunity to scan the crowd in search of Shin Hye.

I finally spotted her right at the front, smiling enviously at me.

She waved at me when she realized I was looking at her and I waved back.

“Your friend?”

I turned to look at Sung Yeol to make sure that he was the one talking.

“Yeah, my best friend actually”

He just smiled and nodded his head before waving to Shin Hye as well.

As every member had a partner, the game then began.

We were required to stand on a piece of newspaper that would soon be folded into smaller pieces.

The last group that remains standing on the piece of newspaper wins.

I stared sceptically at the already small newspaper and it was only the first round.

“Come on”

Sung Yeol extended his hand out to me and I held on to it.

The space between us was really small and I felt my heart beat faster.

Yah, what is happening to me?!

Sung Yeol’s not my bias, it’s Myung Soo!

Chill you, relax, calm down.

“Are you okay?”

Sung Yeol had a worried look on his face.

“Yeah, I’m fine” I smiled.

As the game progressed, the newspaper got smaller and smaller that by the end of the fifth round there was only Sung Yeol and I as well as Sung Jong and his partner.

Woo Hyun and Myung Soo both folded each remaining newspaper into half.

I stood there gawking at the extreme smallness.

There is no possible way that two grown people could stay balanced on that piece of newspaper.

I was going to protest when Sung Yeol suddenly turned his back towards me and kneeled down.

“What are you doing?” I asked.

“Get on my back, that way I’ll be the only one standing on it” he explained.

I hesitated for a moment before getting on his back.

“Sorry, but I’m a little heavy. Just feel free to drop me when you get tired”

He chuckled and I laughed silently.

“Don’t worry. I don’t enjoy seeing my fans being dropped, and you’re not that heavy”

He then stood onto the small piece of newspaper with his right leg on the ground and his left leg on his right.

I tried not to make it more difficult for him by remaining as still as possible.

As time passed, Sung Yeol started to wobble but regained balance quite easily.

Whereas for Sung Jong who was carrying his partner bridal style looked like he was facing difficulties remaining balanced.

“Erm, Sung Yeol oppa, I have a feeling Sung Jong isn’t going to make it” I whispered.

“Seems like it”

We continued to observe our opponent and finally after a couple more minutes Sung Jong loosened his grip on his partner and that caused her legs to touch the ground outside of the newspaper area.

I quickly jumped off Sung Yeol’s back and we both started to cheer happily.

“And the winner is Sung Yeol’s group!” announced the emcee.

I was so happy I started acting like a kid jumping up and down in excitement.

The boys of Infinite then burst out laughing at my childishness.

When I realized what I just did, I blushed a crimson red.

“Now, let’s have Infinite present the prize to our winner, shall we” suggested the emcee.

A staff member then came out with a rectangle box tied with a gold ribbon.

All seven boys handed the box over to me and I thanked them before leaving the stage.

I was too lazy to go all the way to the back to rejoin the crowd so I just stood at the side.

The boys then shot into the last song for the night, ‘Man In Love’.

It was then that I had the weirdest feeling ever.

Every time I look at Sung Yeol I have this weird tingling feeling.

Snapping myself out of it, I quickly turned my attention back to the stage.

I tried hard to concentrate on looking at Myung Soo but my eyes had a mind of its own.

It kept drifting towards Sung Yeol.

As the song ended, Sung Yeol faced the side of the stage where I was standing and he smiled at me.

I quickly pretended I did not see him and went towards the line leading up to the stage for their autograph session.

I was going to go to the back of the line when suddenly I felt someone pull me into the line.

“Yah, you!”

“Ah, Shin Hye, you scared me!”

“Sorry. Anyways, you were so lucky to have got up on stage with the boys”

“It was nerve wrecking!”

“At least you made it through and you got to get so close to Sung Yeol!” she gushed.

“FYI darling, if you still remember, my favourite member is Myung Soo”

At least he was this morning….

After fifteen minutes or so we made it up the stage.

Shin Hye unnie started squealing as soon as she saw Sung Gyu and I could have sworn I saw him smirk!

I placed my album in front of Sung Gyu and he gracefully signed it before shaking my hand.

Next was Dong Woo who kept on smiling that cheerful sunshine smile of his.

I happily shook his hand and moved on towards Myung Soo.

As I placed the album in front of him, I rummaged around in my bag for the letter I had written for him.

Finally, I pulled it out of my bag and handed it over to him.

He smiled at me and shook my hand before taking the letter.

But, I didn’t feel exceptionally happy or dizzily giddy like I had expected.

Instead, I just felt neutrally happy.

Lost in my train of thoughts, I just placed my album in front of whoever was next and stared out into space.

“Excuse me? Excuse me?”

I snapped out oof my own dream land and back to reality.

“Oh, sorry”

I looked up and it was Sung Yeol.

My heart felt like it was going to burst out of my chest.

I quickly shook his hand, and he smiled that gummy smily of his.

God, you, get a grip of yourself!

Sung Yeol gave me a funny look and I quickly moved towards Sung Jong whom happily signed my album and gave me a cute wink before passing the album towards Hoya.

As I stood opposite of Hoya he suddenly started chanting “I say Ho! You say Ya! Ho!” and then he shoved the sharpie he was holding like a mic towards me.

“Ya?” I said timidly with a shy smile on my face.

He just laughed at my reaction before signing the album and shaking my hand still having that amused smile plastered on his face.

I then moved on towards Woo Hyun who was at the end of the table.

“Anyeong ~” he greeted in his aegyo whiny tone.

I couldn’t help but laugh.

“Buing ~ buing ~” he continued as he saw my reaction.

“Yah, my fingers and toes are all scrunched up” chided Hoya from the side.

“Aigoo, I know you secretly love it” retorted Woo Hyun with a cheeky grin.

He then signed my album, adding a heart to it.

“High five” he said, raising both his hands.

I obliged and he grinned his adorable dimple smile.

I then bade him good bye before alighting the stage.

“Yah, you what happened between you and Sung Yeol?” asked Shin Hye.

“Me? And Sung Yeol? Nothing, why?”

“Cause it sure looked like something” she retorted.

I just shrugged at her, then my tummy grumbled.

“Oops.. I’m hungry. Let’s go grab something to eat”

I grabbed onto Shin Hye’s hand and dragged her towards a nearby restaurant.

[Restaurant]

“So, what was the prize you got?” asked Shin Hye with a glint in her eyes.

“I don’t know, I haven’t open it”

“Open it then!”

“Aish… fine…”

I pulled the box out of my bag and untied the ribbon before lifting the lid off.

Inside was an autographed limited edition album, an Infinite symbol necklace and a set of stud earrings.

“Oh my god! The necklace and earrings belong to Sung Yeol!” squealed Shin Hye.

I quickly covered and mouthed an apology to the other customers.

“Yah, why do you have to be so loud?!” I scolded.

Shin Hye completely ignored me and continued to stare at the necklace and earrings.

“Can I have this?” asked Shin Hye while holding up both the necklace and earrings.

“No! Absolutely not!” I quickly snatched them back and stuffed them back into the box before keeping it safely into my bag.

“Why not? You like Myung Soo while I like Sung Gyu and Sung Yeol. So these things mean more to me than you” she whined.

I just shook my head no and turned away from her to face the window.

She made a ‘humph’ sound and pulled her phone out.

While waiting for our food to arrive I stared out at the people passing by.

Suddenly, I had the urge to use the bathroom.

Not that I needed to use it, it’s just that I felt like I needed to go.

“I’ll be going to the bathroom, you want to come?” I asked.

Still angry that I wouldn’t give the necklace and earrings, she ignored me.

I chuckled to myself at her childish behaviour and left for the toilet.

As I turned the corner towards the toilet I slammed right into someone.

“Sorry, sorry!” I started to apologize profusely while bowing my head.

“It’s okay, really. You can stop apologizing”

This voice sounds so familiar.

I looked up and true enough, it was Sung Yeol.

“You!” I pointed my finger at him and he looked shocked before relaxing his expression.

“Yeah, me” he replied with a laugh.

“Eh….” I was at a loss for words.

He the laughed and ruffled my hair.

“You’re cute” he commented.

I blushed a deep crimson red.

“Oh, and do you like the gift?” he suddenly asked.

“Gift?” I didn’t know what he was talking about.

“The necklace and earrings along with the album?”

“Oh! That gift, yeah, I really like them. Thanks”

“You’re welcome, you won it anyways”

“No, you won it! All I did was hang on to you”

He smiled at me and I felt so lightheaded I could have fainted.

“Well, that’s quite true but you won it anyways” he replied with a soft chuckle.

I just nodded in response and we fell silent.

“Erm, I guess I’ll be seeing you around” I said before realizing what gibberish I just said.

“Seeing me around?” he asked, confused.

“Eh, no. I did not mean it that way. I’m not a stalker. Aish….”

Once again, for the millionth time today I made a fool of myself in front of Sung Yeol.

I felt utterly stupid.

If only the ground would open up and swallow me whole.

“Erm, I’ll just be going. Bye”

Without giving him time to reply I quickly dashed into the washroom and stayed there for a good fifteen minutes before peeking out the door to make sure he was nowhere in sight.

Sighing, I got out of the washroom and back to the table where Shin Hye sat looking very worried.

“What are you so worried about?” I asked as I slid into the seat opposite her.

“you! You got me worried sick! You were like gone for half an hour!”

Half an hour?

Oh, I must have spent fifteen minutes talking to Sung Yeol.

“Awww….you’re worried about me?” I cooed and she whacked me on the hand jokingly.

We burst out laughing and it was then that I noticed a group of guys sitting at the corner of the restaurant with their hoods up.

One of the guys caught my eye and I almost choked on my own saliva when I realized that it was Sung Yeol.

What in the world is wrong with me today?!

Why am I bumping into them wherever I go?!

Aish…

I hung my head low to avoid his gaze and apparently Shin Hye noticed my weird behaviour.

“What are you doing?”

“Look to the corner of the restaurant but PLEASE do not scream”

She turned to look and just as I had expected, she screamed.
