It was a couple days before Jinwoo’s birthday; Seunghoon and Seungyoon were home alone without Jinwoo. The nobleman was away on a late afternoon job interview and both were at home anxiously waiting for his return.

With their beloved nobleman gone, the pair ended up spending their time together plotting for Jinwoo’s nearing birthday. Both wanted to get him gifts and so they decided that the next couple of days would be spent acquiring said gifts and that they would be covering for each other as to not arouse the nobleman’s suspicions.

After a while, Seungyoon started on their dinner when he suddenly heard the unmanliest scream he had ever heard coming from the bathroom. Startled by the piercing cry, the onion he was peeling fell to the floor and rolled off under the table. He froze on the spot, listening intently.

“Seunghoon?” He called, craning his neck towards the hallway. There was no reply and so he tried again, a bit louder this time. “Hey, what happened?”

Still not hearing a response, Seungyoon nervously his lips as he picked up the pan he readied on the stove earlier. Gingerly, he moved towards the bathroom and knocked on the door to check if the spaceman was alright.

"Everything okay in there?"

It didn’t take long for Seunghoon to respond to his query; it came in the form of a barely audible whisper.

"I’m trapped. You have to come help me."

Having no idea what Seunghoon was talking about, Seungyoon’s heart started to race. Did an intruder get inside their home and was now hovering over his housemate with a weapon of some sort? Seungyoon winced as gory images of slasher flicks he had seen in the past flashed in his head. Then again, Seunghoon came from outer space what if it was someone or something from there? Maybe a slimy creature of some sort or a couple of those ‘Men In Black’ even. If that was the case, he had to hurry and help his friend!

Seungyoon took a deep breath then slowly turned the knob and swiftly kicked the door open as he let out a battle cry with the pan raised high over his head. He was expecting to see some kind of (A) crazy space creature, (B) a psycho from a slasher flick, (C) Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones aka 'Men In Black'. What greeted him instead was none of the above; it turned out to be a very hairy spider about half the size of his palm on the bathroom floor. Being no fan of spiders himself, Seungyoon took a step back and lowered his pan.

"You have to kill it!"

He heard Seungyoon say, eyes pleading. The spaceman was crouching down and was hiding behind the shower curtain, very wet and no doubt very . The daunting spider stayed still between the two young men.

Seungyoon didn’t like killing bugs, just imagining the light crushing splat and the smear of its busted guts on the tiles made him shudder all over. No thanks! Something had to be done however, and as Seunghoon let out a low shriek as the spider crawled towards him did Seungyoon decide on his game plan.

Sprinting out of the bathroom with his trusted pan, he called out to Seunghoon from the hallway to not to take his eyes off it so it wouldn’t disappear while he was away.

"No worries!"

The spaceman had yelled shakily after him. Back in the kitchen he put down his pan and hurriedly looked through the cupboards for a suitable prison for the spider. It was while he was searching one of the cupboards above that he jumped back and almost let out an undignified scream himself as he saw another spider crawling towards him on the kitchen counter. It was identical to the one he encountered in the bathroom but this one was twice its size! Quickly placing the 'world’s best grandma' mug he had intended to use on the one in the bathroom over this spider, Seungyoon grabbed a tall clear drinking glass and hurried back to the bathroom.

When he got there, Seunghoon was standing with his arms stretched out, a towel wrapped around his waist, armed with the handheld shower head pointing directly at the spider.

"I’m going to drown it!"

The spaceman announced and turned to switch on the water just as Seungyoon leapt forward and placed the tall clear drinking glass over the spider, trapping it. He didn’t get to revel in his victory much as the water was now coming his way.

Getting a stream of cold water squirted directly in his face, Seungyoon yelped and jumped back only to slip on the now wet slippery tiles and fall on his . With his face landing inches away from the captured spider, he shuddered once more before scrambling away and angrily looking up at Seunghoon.

"Sorry."

The spaceman mumbled with a sheepish smile as he shut off the water. Using Seungyoon as a human shield against the trapped spider, he proceeded to step out of the shower and then victoriously leave the bathroom altogether, shaking his towel covered . Seungyoon, on the other hand, was feeling slightly bruised. He took his time getting up from the tiled floor and then went to change his sopping wet clothes. While doing so he heard Seunghoon talking to himself in the kitchen.

"Why is this mug standing here upside down on the counter?"

Seungyoon poked his head out of the shirt he was changing into. He better not! Seungyoon thought and immediately right after, a renewed unmanly scream resounded throughout their home. Seungyoon couldn’t help but laugh. Served him (Seunghoon) right if he was that slow to not realize that he had trapped another spider in the same way. After he finished changing he headed towards the kitchen when Seunghoon almost crashed against him.

"It got away!"

Seunghoon yelled, grabbing him by the arm and pulling him with him towards the bed at almost inhuman speed. Falling on his back he blinked up at Seunghoon who was now hovering above him beginning to question his sanity a little.

"You keep watch that way, I this way!"

Seunghoon told him, from the waist up with a fierce look on his face. Grumbling he got up on his knees and crawled over to the middle of the bed. Sitting back to back, Seunghoon still only in his towel they scouted for the runaway spider - or spiders.

Minutes ticked by without any spider sightings. Seungyoon was getting impatient and had begun contemplating going to get the mug, with a sigh he put one leg down followed by the other when he felt a sudden tug from behind.

“What are you doing?”

Seunghoon asked, an incredulous look on his face.

“I’m just gonna get the mug...“

Seunghoon cut him off.

“No, you can’t. That’s a no-no!”

Just then, Seungyoon noticed something black moving on the floor. He jumped back in the bed with a yelp, pulling Seunghoon with him. He kept his eyes focused on the damn spider now standing just a few feet away from the bed.

“I know I have a great figure and all but now is really not the time for you to be kneading my .”

Seungyoon looked down after hearing the spaceman’s words only to find a very Seunghoon on his stomach pinned under him with his head turned towards him. Eyes moving lower, he found his hands perfectly cupping the spaceman’s cheeks.

Seungyoon let out a horrified shriek as he quickly took his hands off those buns. Seunghoon was quick to pin him down and hover above him again, one hand covering Seungyoon’s mouth.

“Shut up! You’re going to scare the spider away!”

Seungyoon tried to struggle out of the spaceman’s hold, he can’t believe he just touched someone’s and it had to be Seunghoon’s of all people! He made sure to keep his hands as far away from any part of himself, feeling the need to urgently wash his hands ten times, no, eleven, maybe more but he wasn’t sure anymore. He tried pushing Seunghoon off again only to hear the sound of the front door open followed by some shuffling. Seconds later, Jinwoo’s pretty face greeted them.

"What kind of game are you two playing today? Looks like fun..."

The nobleman’s smile disappeared bit by bit, eyes growing wide as he took in the sight in front of him, his mouth forming a perfect ‘O’. Seungyoon was lying on his back with his shirt pulled up revealing his toned stomach and chest, one hand resting on Seunghoon’s arm. Seunghoon, on the other hand, was hovering above him completely .

“Oh. Oh. Oh!”

Jinwoo quickly turned away from the pair, tripping over his own feet in his haste. He could feel his face heating up; he had just walked in on his housemates while they were in the middle of…

“It’s not what you think!” Jinwoo heard Seungyoon say. “Uh, it’s kinda hard to explain right now but can you please just come over here, watch your step. Please?”

Not being able to resist Seungyoon, he peeked at them a little.

“Is it really alright to come there?”

He spotted Seungyoon and Seunghoon both kneeling on the bed. Seungyoon finally had his shirt pulled down and Seunghoon had covered himself with the blankets. Jinwoo slowly made his way towards the pair and gingerly sat between them.

“There was a spider…”                  “He touched my !”

Jinwoo heard them both say at the same time.

“I didn’t do it on purpose!”         “There’s a spider in the bathroom too!”

“This is how you repay me after I saved you?!”                                “You know you liked it!”

“I would never, in a million years!”                         “There are spiders here. We should move out!”

“Um, can you guys speak one at a time? What about a spider and I don’t really think I need to know who is touching whose ...”

The pair looked at each other before turning to look at Jinwoo, they then explained the ‘spider situation’ to him and Jinwoo had laughed at the whole thing as if it was a highly amusing story. In the end, the nobleman had only said one thing to them as he patted their heads.

"I’ll take care of it."

Jinwoo then rolled his sleeves, flexed his arm at them and got off the bed, heading towards the bathroom. Seunghoon yelled after Jinwoo to be careful while Seungyoon trailed behind him.

“Aw, you poor thing.”

Jinwoo said the moment he laid eyes on the spider trapped inside the drinking glass on the bathroom floor. He crouched down and tapped the glass a few times. “Just what have my husbands done to you?”

Seungyoon couldn’t help but blush hearing Jinwoo refer to them as his husbands, he stayed by the door watching his Jinwoo. He’ll jump in and save his beloved if needed.

Jinwoo didn’t kill the spider like Seungyoon thought he would, instead he lifted the glass and gently took the spider in his hand. Surprised, awed, and a little disgusted - Seungyoon took a step back as Jinwoo approached him with the spider sitting on his hand. He was touching it?! His Jinwoo was freaking carrying the spider in his precious hands!!! Not something he would copy anytime soon!

"I’ll just take you outside Mr. Spider. You can’t stay with us, my husbands are delicate you see."

Jinwoo was talking to the spider and cutely waving his finger at it. At this point Seungyoon couldn’t help but find the whole thing endearing. Shyly stuffing his hands in his pockets, his lips broke into a wide grin.

Not long after, Jinwoo managed to capture the other spider as well. Just like he did with the first one, Jinwoo had gone up to it and simply taken it in his hands. This spider was much bigger and Jinwoo carried it out with both hands, setting it down carefully on a distant bush.

"Don’t come again and be careful on your way."

When they returned, Jinwoo washed his hands and Seunghoon (wrapped in a blanket like a burrito), spent the next few minutes watching him with a strange look on his face from a distance.

“Jinwoo, are you feeling ill?”

Seunghoon asked, a frown marring his usually jovial face.

“I’ll get dressed and get you medicine right now. I definitely won’t let anything happen to you.”

Jinwoo turned back to stare at him and Seungyoon did the same. Noticing that the other two didn’t seem to understand what he meant, he let out a disheartened sigh and explained how he was waiting for Jinwoo to turn purple from touching the spider and how a really high fever would usually follow along with terrible bouts of vomiting. As he explained, he couldn’t help but worry even more for Jinwoo, he wasn’t showing the symptoms now but he would soon enough. Seunghoon felt the need to hurry and go find an antidote for him. He recalled that there’s a first-aid kit in his spaceship, he hoped that he’d have something for this in there.

Silence followed after his explanation, things only made sense when Seunghoon explained that spiders mutated and all had become lethal save for a few very rare ones. Seungyoon and Jinwoo looked at each other then back at Seunghoon before Seungyoon walked towards him and assured him that their Jinwoo would just be fine.

"I couldn’t remember when exactly it was that they mutated..."

Seunghoon had mumbled before leaving to finally get dressed.

Soon Seungyoon and Jinwoo started on their now very late dinner while Seunghoon (now fully dressed) spent time looking at maps on his holographic TV. Seungyoon knew of course what he was up to as they had already made careful plans for the next day. Jinwoo’s birthday was coming up and they were both working on their gifts. Actually, just Seunghoon was - Seungyoon hasn’t been honest. He already had something for the nobleman and he hoped that Jinwoo will like it. Tomorrow was the day to put their plans into action, Seunghoon’s anyway. He quietly stared at Jinwoo washing some veggies beside him in the sink and slid closer.

Seunghoon woke before his alarm the next morning, very early at that, the sun hasn’t even risen. He had one day to get this done, tomorrow was Jinwoo’s birthday and so it had to be today! He couldn’t get up just yet though because Jinwoo was sleeping soundly while clinging to his arm. Even in his sleep he chose me. Seunghoon thought smugly, moving a little closer and enjoying Jinwoo’s warmth.

Resting his cheek carefully on top of Jinwoo’s head he wrapped his arms around him and smiled to himself. He treasured these little moments so much. They were theirs and theirs only, his and Jinwoo’s. Seungyoon couldn’t possibly have anything like this with the nobleman; he was too decent and virtuous to go sneaking around. Or is he really?

Seunghoon lifted his head a bit and stared at Seungyoon who was fast asleep on the other side of the bed, glued on Jinwoo’s back. He had a score to settle and his birthday gift would surely earn him an extra point in his beloved’s books! After spending another ten minutes just enjoying having Jinwoo in his arms, he slowly made his way out of the bed without waking either of the two.

Seungyoon knew what he was up to today. The plan was to tell Jinwoo that he was off doing one of his odd jobs again and won’t be back til the next morning. Neither liked lying to him about this but they didn’t wish to tell him about their plans for his birthday. After getting dressed he walked over to Jinwoo’s sleeping form. Leaning down, he placed a soft kiss on Jinwoo’s temple and grinned. His gift would surely be the best one!

With his trusty leather jacket slung cooly over his shoulder, he grabbed an apple off the fruit basket. Taking with him his shoulder bag filled with things he thought might come useful later on, he hurried out the front door. Arriving at his spaceship in the basement he pulled out his headphones and found his favorite playlist - it was adventure time!

It had been a while since he had gone on a trip like this one. It felt a little strange to go off on his own. It was a long trip out of the galaxy where he usually stayed, but he was a romantic after all. Imagining how he could tell Jinwoo ‘I left this galaxy just to get you this gift.’ he smiled to himself.

It was a longer trip than usual and when his ship touched down on his target planet it was close to dinnertime on earth but early morning on this planet. He paused for a while, wondering just what Jinwoo and Seungyoon were up to. A little pang crept in his heart knowing that there would only be Seungyoon and Jinwoo sharing the bed tonight. Still, he knew Seungyoon wasn’t the type to take advantage of the situation and so with a few deep breaths he dispelled the thought and focused on his task at hand.

It was a humid planet and the area he was going to would be even worse. He left his leather jacket in his spaceship and picked up his bag. He had managed to land closer than he thought he would be able to and so he was in good spirits for that. He still had his music on as he carefully crossed a rocky steaming stream and dodged a few prickly looking ferns. According to the data he had at hand, there shouldn’t be much to fear on this planet except for some massive herbivores that could stomp you to death if you were unlucky.

Having looped the area with his ship a few times earlier prior to landing, he was sure that there were no such creatures around as they would be rather easy to notice from the air. He shuddered at the thought of one of them stepping on his spaceship; he would be stuck there forever then.

Deciding to hurry, just in case, he changed his pace into a light jog and entered a deciduous forest - an assortment of rich varying sounds assaulted his ears. There was nothing threatening that he had encountered but the buzzing mosquito-like bugs in this planet are getting harder and harder to fend off. He had been bitten quite a number of times already and when he couldn’t take it anymore he reached for his bag and took out the generic bug spray he had acquired at their neighborhood mart. Backing away a bit, he closed his eyes and sprayed away.

It was a bit of a climb to the spot where his gift should be, and he kept his pace until he was almost at the top, his face dripping with sweat. Once up there, he straightened his strained back and rested for a while. Taking his water bottle out and a bit of the food he packed, he sat under the shade of a huge tree. Now, here’s a little secret - Seunghoon took an orb out of his pocket, the one he uses to control his holographic tv with. He activated it and once the files within it were shown, he went to look at some of his hidden password protected folders. Seunghoon leaned back against the tree as a video started playing before him.

“Annyong...” The Seunghoon in the video greeted in a hushed tone, a mischievous grin on his lips. “Right now, my Jinwoo is making our breakfast.”

Sure enough, tell-tale sounds of cookery can be heard in the video along with Jinwoo humming a tune that was once unfamiliar to Seunghoon but was now something he remembers by heart.

“He doesn’t know I’m awake.” He says in the video, hiding behind his blanket as he laid quietly on the bed. “Let’s go see what my Jinwoo is doing!”

Leaving the bed, he tiptoed to the kitchen. Jinwoo appeared on the video moments later, his back facing the camera as he searched the cupboards. He faced forward after a few seconds and placed a few small plates on the table. Still humming, Jinwoo turned towards the cabinets this time and took out some chopsticks and spoons. Seunghoon covered his mouth as Jinwoo closed the drawer with a sway of his hips.

“Seunghoon-ah, what are you doing?  Jinwoo stared at him for a while, a breathtaking smile on his lips just before he turned towards the fridge. “Don’t just watch, come and help me.”

Seunghoon appeared on the video again, scratching his head this time. “You caught me.”

The video faded into the background for a split second then returned.

Whilst the two of them we’re eating, Jinwoo’s hair kept falling over his eyes. He kept lifting his head and shaking them away, sometimes using the back of his hand to keep them from obscuring his view. Since the time that the two of them had come to Seungyoon’s time, Jinwoo’s never had his hair cut. It had grown a bit longer and Seunghoon grew quite fond of it as it brought about feelings of nostalgia particularly those from his first few sightings of Jinwoo in his time.

He reached out and tucked a piece of Jinwoo’s stray hair behind his ear, slowly running his fingers down his dimpled cheek and letting it linger. There was something about the way Jinwoo’s hair would fall over his eyes and how warm he was under his fingertips that always catches him off-guard. Jinwoo only stared at him, his lips curving in a smile that Seunghoon could not help but mimic.

The video faded out again, this time Seunghoon moved to the next clip as he took another bite.

“Shh...” He hushed in the video, a finger over his lips. It was a warm afternoon and he was sitting cross-legged on the living-room floor. Beside him was Jinwoo all curled up, hugging his sleeping cat as he slept. Seunghoon leaned over him, brushing away his hair from his face as he admired his soft features. Eventually, he laid down on his side facing Jinwoo, tangling his legs with his and sliding his arms around him.

His fingers brushed against the side of Jinwoo’s neck before trailing down his arm and to his waist where they stilled. Jinwoo’s lips slightly parted as his finger drew a few lazy swirls on the patch of smooth exposed skin there, his eyelashes fluttering as slumber began to fade.

“Seunghoon...” Jinwoo called softly, voice gritty with sleep, and Seunghoon responded by pulling him close as his body came to life.

The way Jinwoo says his name is enough to rattle him. Seunghoon couldn’t take his eyes off him - at his taunting pink lips and at his fair legs sliding against his, shirt riding up with every ministration. God, he’s beautiful. Terribly beautiful. And each time their skin slid against each other, Seunghoon could feel the air get knocked out of his chest.

Jinwoo slowly opened his eyes, the last edges of sleep evident as he smiled at him and nuzzled closer.

"It should be here somewhere."

Seunghoon mumbled to himself as he looked around. It was then he saw it down on the other side of the hill, twinkling under the sun’s rays. Sliding down the slick grass he was soon right next to it. Taking out one of the things he carried with him in the bag he giggled a little. It was a bright red flashy pot for a rather large plant with ‘feel my love’ written on it. He dug up some dirt further down first, filling his pot before attacking his target carefully.

It was a gorgeous plant! Lush leaves in the shape of hearts which on earth symbolized love. It was exquisitely tinted with red in its center, nicely spreading out along the edge. The leaves moved on their own regardless of the direction of the wind.

"I don’t know how you survive around here."

He told the plant while placing it gently and snugly into the pot.

"You’re a flesh eating plant right? There must be some pretty meaty bugs around here for you to eat. Don’t worry though, we got some of those on earth as well. Spiders particularly!"

Its pretty leaves were floating neatly as he finished placing it in the pot and he was on his way down the hill when he heard them.

"I guess your meal came to find us."

He said grimly at the plant and started running with all he had. The bugs weren’t large, but they were plenty. Hugging the pot tightly to his chest as he ran, it took him half the time of the trip there to return to his ship.

He just managed to get inside the ship and close the hatch before the windows were completely covered in black and blue. He could hear their silvery wings hit the ship’s windows and he sniggered at the thought of burning them into oblivion as he started the engine. It was then that he noticed how the plant had moved while he ran. He can feel a nice gentle cool tingling sensation, its leaves had spread out and up his arm covering it.

"So, you do live up to your nickname after all!"

The plant leaves didn’t hurt his skin, on the contrary, it was rather soothing. Its nickname as Seunghoon recalled rather fondly was the ‘hugging plant’. The leaves had a light healing effect and was used to cool down sunburns, bug bites and other minor damages to people's skin back on his home planet.

Placing the plant in the pink kids’ seat usually reserved for Seungyoon, he put the safety strap on.

"Time to kill some bugs!"

He then exclaimed loudly as the ship was still completely surrounded. Firing up the engine he could quickly smell the distinct smell of something burning. The plant moved gingerly as the ship took off, but it stayed safely behind the strap the whole time.

Soon they were up in the air and heading out through the atmosphere. It was when he had just breached the utmost layer that he saw it from the corner of his eyes. Another ship was moving in behind him. It didn’t take long for it to catch up with his own. He glanced over in an attempt to catch sight of who it was that followed him. At first, all he could see was the reflection of his own ship, but as they turned away from the sun he finally caught a glimpse.

"He’s still got that ugly hair of his from back then."

He mumbled to the plant. The rider of the other ship was none other than Nam Taehyun. That guy worked for the government back on the planet he had lived on until recently. Seunghoon got in trouble once before and it was that guy that sought him out back then. Things were settled easily as he had committed no grave offense of any sort at that time, it was simply a misunderstanding but he grew to dislike the guy strongly.

"One would think the guys upholding the law would have better things to do than to hunt down laid-off postmen."

Mumbling this to the plant he smiled to himself. Having traveled around a lot with his job, he knew the galaxy better than most. Knowing that he had to shake the ‘oh so persistent and upright’ Nam Taehyun off, he racked his brain for a solution while dodging his attempts to capture his ship.

I might be late for your birthday... he mentally told his Jinwoo, as if still reasoning with himself ...but there is no way I’m bringing home that self-obsessed idiot. No freaking way!

He then made a quick turn, dodged another capture attempt and disappeared. Cheering for himself and his quick-thinking, he turned to the plant yet again and told it,

"Bless wormholes."

Before grabbing the steering wheel in an even firmer grip. Now all he had to hope for was that he didn’t get spat out in a galaxy too far away from earth.

Seungyoon had been staring at the small wooden clock standing on the counter. He asked the owner if he could close shop early today as he had a very important task that he had to fulfill at all costs. There was still an hour left for him to kill, Seungyoon reached inside his pocket with a contemplative smile.

Up until recently he had been working on his little project, his gift for his most favorite person in the world - scratch that, the universe.

It was on that very counter-top that Seungyoon had spent hours on it. Other than playing musical instruments, he wasn’t particularly skilled in any hand-work but he had tried really hard for this one and Seungyoon hoped that Jinwoo would like it.

Time ticked by so slowly. Seungyoon would glance at the little clock a few times and get dismayed that the time hasn't changed at all. At 4:59 PM an alarm rang out from his phone. Seungyoon beams at it before stuffing the device in his pocket and leaving the music shop with a zing in his step.

The music shop he worked at is about a half hour away to their home on foot and about 15 minutes away by bus. Seungyoon often took the bus but he also had days when he opted to walk or use his skateboard instead. Some days the solitude is a reprieve and is much needed, even more now that he's got housemates - and he’s terribly besotted with one of them.

Today, however, Seungyoon took the subway train. As the train-car speedily moved along, Seungyoon couldn't help but think about how it would have been if he had the other two there with him. Seunghoon would most likely tell him about something niftier than this form of transportation in the future. As for Jinwoo, his eyes would probably grow wide in delight as an expression of mirth graced his face. Seungyoon started to chuckle to himself, earning him a few quizzical gazes from the passengers around him.

A few stops later, Seungyoon is walking down a trendy street lined with clothing stores and beauty shops. Seungyoon passes them by not even sparing their window displays as much as a glance. He rounds a corner and starts jogging up towards a cheery yellow bungalow.

A little chime resounds as Seungyoon steps inside the shop. Glass cases filled with a wide assortment of cakes were lined up. Some were very flamboyant and ostentatious, there was a particular one by the door - a wedding cake. It was even taller than him and boasted well-crafted sugar flowers with butterflies that were gracefully wound around it. The gumpaste bride and groom were sitting on the third tier, holding each other’s hand and kissing. Sticking out above them were tiny little red hearts and sparkling beads.

“Sir, may I help you?”

Seungyoon whirled around in surprise, his gaze falling on a petite woman curiously staring back at him. She was wearing a yellow apron and her glossy pink lips were pulled up in a friendly smile.

“Are you perhaps looking for a special something for an extra special someone?”

The girl reminded Seungyoon of one of those ‘girls’ on the late night infomercials. She was quite pretty with her big lined eyes and thick long lashes but still, she was no match for his Jinwoo. Not even close. Seungyoon grins at the thought, Jinwoo’s pretty face flashing in his mind.

“I need a cake.” Seungyoon tells her. “A birthday cake.”

Minutes later, Seungyoon is seated in a cozy sitting area near the back of the shop. In front of him lay catalogs filled with pictures of various cakes along with a short description for each one.

“Everything you see here, we can make and can be picked up within 12 to 24 hours.”

Seungyoon nods at her slowly, eyes drifting towards the catalogs on the coffee table. He picks one of them up and starts looking through them. Fresh cream cakes have always been popular with the masses and are known for their delicate pretty looks. In the catalog he held in his hands were various variations of it. Some had glossy carefully selected fruits sitting atop that looked like crowning jewels, others had a combination of French macarons and strawberries, there were also a few in the shape of a rose and a heart.

“Sir, if you don’t mind me asking...”

Seungyoon lifted his gaze off the catalog and stared at her.

“...are you picking something out for your girlfriend?”

Jinwoo is back in Seungyoon’s head again, beaming as he welcomed him home, arms outstretched, drawing him close. Welcome home, Seungyoonie. His conjured Jinwoo says. I missed you.

“Not a girlfriend.”

Seungyoon slowly replies, careful with his words yet honest.

“But someone, I can see myself growing old with. Someone I can see myself spending the rest of my lifetime with. ”

“Hmm, I see.”

The attendant hums knowingly.

“Whoever that person is, we’ll make sure that the cake you choose will make that person very happy on their special day.”
