A loud sound of glass crashing wakes me up, screaming and sobs from downstairs filled the air. They were at it again, like always. I trudge my way out my room and down the squeaky stairs, which we couldn't afford to get fixed. "AGAIN! YOU SPENT ALL OF OUR MONEY ON SOJU!" I find my mom yelling at my dad in the kitchen, empty soju bottles scattered everywhere, with my dad sitting in a daze at the dinner table. "ARGGG!! YOU SON OF A !!" My mom grabs an empty soju bottle and hurls it against the wall, smashing it into little pieces. My dad sits there, still unfazed. Trying to grab another bottle, I quickly interject, grabbing her arm. She tries to squirm out of my grasp, with the soju bottle still in hand, accidentally smashing it against the table creating a sharp edge. She jerks her body away from me, flailing her arms in the process, causing the broken bottle to slice my cheek. "Oww!" I cry, cupping my cheek. Blood drips down my neck, staining my old sleeping shirt. "Oh my god, EunBi!" My mom gasps, dropping the bottle and running to my side. I flinch back as she approaches me, which stops her in her tracks. "This is all your fault, you have failed you're family!" She turns to my dad, his blank eyes staring back at her, "I'm leaving you and never coming back" she adds, grabbing the only money in the house, which was a few dollars but still enough for bus fare.
