we're cold but when we're together it feels warmer.

{one-shot collections} Paradaisia — the place where the powerful ones belongs.

She stomped her feet as she stared at the two figures in front of her. Here they go once again, over-reacting towards everything, she thought. She gritted her teeth for a second, her cheeks felt hot because of embarrassment. She kept still with her piercing stare on them. Yeah, them.

“Idiots. You guys are making me felt like a little girl who’s being send off by her parents.” She spoke, arms-crossed on her chest. She could hear sounds of the other girls snickering on the bus while watching at the three of them. She sighed as she shook her head off.

The tallest one among the three of them flashed his playful smile, holding up his right palm open towards her. With only one soft blow, she could feel the small blow of wind against her neck.

Oh Sehun, don’t do that!” She shrieked as the small blow of Sehun’s wind tickled her against the skin. And there’s Jongin who’s smiling evilishly — damn both of them really makes a good team whenever it comes to annoy her. They never failed.

“Like seriously, what are both of you doing here?” She asked in annoyance. She dragged both of them quite far from where the bus was parked. Really, her so-called bestfriends were being too protective till she didn’t know what she supposed to say.

“Oh come on, Son Naeun. We just want to send you off properly. You never went to anywhere away without both of us.” Jongin slowly approached her and ruffled her hair just like he always did. “I’m warning you Kim Jongin, don’t you dare ruining my hair off!” She warned as she’s trying to fix her hair again. Jongin let out a soft chukle as he went back to Sehun’s side.

“Yeah, he’s right. We’re always together wherever we go. Now that you’re going without us, of course we would be worried.” Sehun said, hands were stuffed in his jeans pockets. Naeun couldn’t help but smile — aw, look at these guys. So sweet.

She probably knew that both of them would feel worry a bit. It’s her first time too to spend her summer holiday without those two idiots. Sighs, if she could turn the offer down — then she would. But she can’t. As one of the best female students in Paradaisia, the summer camp is so important to her. Only Paradaisia’s best female students could attend it and she had no choice. As much as she want to spend her precious summer holidays with the other two guys, she just couldn’t. And she knew that they would understand her. They’re her bestfriends indeed.

“Aw, I think that I’m going to tear up.” Naeun faked a cry as she squeezed herself between Jongin and Sehun, arms hanging on their shoulders. She’s the luckiest human-kind on Earth to have these two good-looking guys as her bestfriends. She won’t deny it because there’s tons of female students that would feel jealous of her for being too close with Sehun and Jongin. Yeah, she admits that — both of them were just too good-looking and good in using their powers too. She felt so blessed.

“Here, we brought you some snacks.” Sehun suddenly said as he passed her a bag of snacks from his bagpack. Naeun took it happily of course, gosh food is totally her weakness. She can’t resist it.

“Enjoy your time there, girl. We’re not going to be there so be sure to take a good care of yourself.” Jongin left a pat on her back, sending off some positive vibes. Of course, Jongin would always be the most positive one among three of them.

“Oh my god, you guys are so adorable!” Naeun exclaimed as she shoved both of them in a group hug. It’s always like this though, three of them. Her hands hastily reached for Jongin’s blonde hair and Sehun’s brown hair, ruffling them with full of care. She wanted them to know how blessed she was right now because of them. They’re probably one of the reasons why she managed to survive in Paradaisia. God, she can’t live without the two of them.

“Guys. I think that I better get going now. Others are waiting for me.” She said as she released them. Jongin and Sehun smiled as they bid her a goodbye, trailing her figure until she entered the bus which is full of Paradaisia’s best female students in their grades. Duh, why even the Magic Council even bother to organize such thing like this during holiday? It’s truely no fun. As the bus slowly left, Jongin and Sehun stayed behind until the bus is completely missing from their sight.

“Jongin-ah, don’t you think we should go with our plan?” Sehun said, his eyes attached on the other guy. Jongin drew a smirk, “I think that we should.” Both of them grinned meaningfully while their minds plotting an event that Naeun could never ever thought of.

“Ah, I can’t believe that we’re going to invade Drama Club’s room.” Sehun hung closer to Jongin’s body. Jongin’s tounge clicked as he thought about their idea once again. Well, that’s the best idea that they could get in order to keep their bestfriend’s safety. They could never leave her alone by herself.

“Let’s just hope that Luhan-hyung won’t scold us for ‘temporarily borrowing’ those stuffs.” Jongin closed his eyes, thinking of a place that only him and Sehun knew. It’s time for their BIG PLAN.

“Ugh. This is so boring.” Naeun’s heart kept complaining. She couldn’t even focus because she’s not with her two idiot bestfriends that would always kept her entertained with their silly jokes and sayings. For some reason she felt quite uncomfortable being surrounded with girls. It’s not that she disliked them, but it’s just that — she didn’t really know how to approach people well. Except for Jongin and Sehun, of course. The venue for the summer camp would be at Jeju’s Magic Forest at that would take few hours to reach it with bus. Ugh, it would be easier if she could just teleport to her current destination by using Jongin’s power. God, she miss her boys so much. Being on the bus makes her felt sick abit, her head slowly spinned which causing her to lean her head over the soft cushion of her seat. In the same time, she stared at the unoccupied seat beside her. Of course, she’s going to be alone again.

Sighs, she’s just too bad in making friends. But there’s always a reason when it comes to that. Not all of the people could easily understands her — which probably explains why she sticks with Sehun and Jongin. Both of them are the only exception. She still remember, that time — when the three of them met for the first time. She’s only a quiet little girl, and both of them are two naughty same-aged boys. She couldn’t even stop smiling when she thought about that time. Her eyes was closed, the ride would be long and it’s nice to sleep — probably the best thing to be done without those idiots around.

Rosalia’s Primary School;

“Why are you crying?” A brunette little boy came to her secret place, which she also felt weird because she really thought that no one else would saw her there. And then she realized that another boy with a light blonde hair suddenly appeared beside the brunette boy.

“N-nothing!” She said, almost sounds like shouting as she wiped her tears away with her little fingers. For God’s sake, all she wanted to do right now is run from these two boys. But somehow she didn’t. She just stayed put while the two boys kept watching her.

“You’re Son Naeun, right?” The brunette boy spoke, causing her to take a glance of him. She hesitated at first yet then she answered, “Yes.”

“Oh! You’re the new girl who just transferred from Millenia aren’t you?” The blonde boy asked, and she nodded. For some reason, she didn’t feel wary with these two. Maybe because they seems like doesn’t even care about how cold she acted? Is it?

“I’m Oh Sehun.” The brunette boy said as he held out his hand for a shake. Once again she hesitated, but she did it anyway. Same goes for the other boy who introduced himself as Kim Jongin.

“Let’s hang out together!” Jongin said right after he suddenly appeared on her right side. She was freaked out of course, but then she finally discovered that the Kim Jongin boy’s power is teleportation — which also means that he’s one of the powerful magician in The Kims great line. Wow, so honourable.

And then suddenly a soft wind hit her face brushing her soft hair to the back, only to find Oh Sehun standing in front of her with a playful smirk. “Yeah, Jongin is right. We should hang out together!”

Naeun was more like strucked. She never has a friend. People barely approached her because of her cold personality, probably one of the reason why she left Millenia and come to Rosalia instead. And during that moment, she really thought that it was right for her to choose Rosalia.

“O-kay.”

“Alright students! We’re here!” The loud voice of Mr. Han, the bus driver woke her up. By the time she opened her eyes, only half of the students were left in the bus. She just waited until everyone come down because she didn’t like to be pushed. Since she’s sitting alone, she already got her bags along with her. When the bus seems totally emptied, she finally stood up along with her bags in her hands. She walked a step to the front, but then suddenly she stopped as she heard a very soft snore from behind.

“Huh?” She reacted as she turned to the back. She barely could see anything but when she tried to take a glance of the back seat again, she noticed a girl student — sleeping so soundly at the back seat. Okay, that’s weird because she thought that no one would take a seat at the back. Except that girl of course.

“It’s weird because I think that everyone also thought that none of the students took the back seat.” She said to herself before putting her bags. Of course, even though she’s truly unsociable but she wouldn’t have heart to leave that girl alone. The driver also might wouldn’t notice her sleeping at the back seat, so yeah it would be easier if she gave a try to wake the girl up.

Naeun walked closer to the girl, she barely saw the girl’s face as her face was covered with a dark-green coloured scarf. It’s just so weird. It’s obviously summer but the girl was having a scarf along with her. And by the way, the dark-green coloured scarf would might be a sign that the girl is from Hawk.

“Just as I guessed.” The Hawk logo on the girl’s bag made it obvious. Hm, it’s weird because if she’s not mistaken, the Hawk girls definitely walked off together just now. Or maybe they just forgotten about her (the girl)? Whatever it is, the most important thing to be done by naeun right now is to wake the person up. Um, wait — how does she’s supposed to wake this person up? She’s not very familiar with this kind of situation. She needs to think of the safest way and the most unannoying way to wake this girl. Maybe she could just simply shake her gently? Well, let’s give that a try.

“Err. Hey..” Naeun tried to shook the girl’s shoulder gently, causing the green scarf that’ve been covering the girl’s face fell off — revealing a very beautiful, a face that you would call gorgeous at the first sight. The girl’s long hair seems very silky and soft at the same time. It might be weird for her to think like that but that’s the fact. It’s quite weird to know that such a beautiful student got neglected by her own group. Pretty much the same as her actually.

Naeun gave a second try as the girl didn’t budge at all. Sighs, looks like the girl really enjoyed her sleep. This time, she shook it quite harsh because the driver already starting to fake a cough as a sign for them to take off from the bus urgently. “Phew, here we go once again.” She was relieved as the girl started to move a bit. It doesn’t take too long for the girl to open her eyes.

“Uh?” The girl slowly opened her eyes while frowning. A sigh of relief escaped Naeun’s lips as she stood still, thinking about what kind of greeting that she should give. “Um, hi.” She said awkwardly. The girl seems still sleepy but she already started to grab her bag.

“We’re already here?” The girl’s voice sounds quite sore and low, Naeun nodded as a repond. She went back to her seat to take her bag, getting read to take off from the bus — along with the girl perhaps. But when Naeun heard a soft thump from behind, she already cancelled her thought earlier. God, no. This cannot be happening.

She turned back, only to find the girl collapsed in the middle of the bus aisle. She was panicked for a second of course, not very sure of what she should do. Until she heard the sound of bus driver’s panicked voice, she finally left her bags again on the seat and approached the unconcious girl instead.

“God her face looks paler than before,” She thought as she tried to check on the other girl. It doesn’t take too long for Professor Choi to arrive, which to her relief — because at least she doesn’t have to messed up her mind with the thoughts about the unconcious girl. Naeun quickly gave a respecting bow before letting Professor Choi to make a further check up on the girl. Maybe this is the cue for her to leave the scene. She doesn’t want to get involved any further.

“How can this happen?” Professor Choi mumbled to herself, hands roaming on the unconcious student’s face. “Seems like she just caught a fever.” She told the female teacher, grabbing her bags again while trying to make an attempt to leave. The girl should be fine under the teacher’s care.

“Wait! Hey, student!” For once again, Naeun almost cursed under her breath because oh god like seriously, she just want to get off as fast as she could. It’s no good to bugde right now. She had no choice.

“Yes, Professor?” She tried to plaster a concerned look over her face. She’s annoyed in the real fact of course. She should’ve just left and didn’t turned back earlier. She hates to deal these kind of things alone — because she probably didn’t know how she was supposed to act. Usually, Sehun and Jongin would be there to help her.

“You’re going to help me to nurse this kid, alright. It’s okay, you’re going to be dismissed from the activities for a while. I need to report this to the higher-ups.” Sighs. Here we go once again. She didn’t have any choice aside from saying ‘yes’ and ‘okay’. Aw come on, it’s not that bad right? At least, she was dismissed from today’s activities. First day activities are always the worst. There would be an ice-breaking session and she hates it so — yeah, maybe this situation happened to save her from that which for some reason she’s grateful.

It feels so warm being in the infrimary cabin instead of the regular cabins. It’s quite bigger than the regular ones and the mattresses are more comfy. She’s grateful that she managed to spend her first night at the summer camp in such a suitable enviroment. Well, the regular ones are not that bad — except the fact that she needs to share with the other students which probably from the different grades and different houses.

She took a sip of her hot chocolate, eyes glancing towards the figure that was lying on the bed, looking so in peace. She didn’t remember meeting the girl in Paradaisia. The girl seems like to be in the same grade as her — well maybe. That doesn’t change anything though, the girl is still a stranger for her.

“Ugh.” She heard a soft grunt, a sign that the girl is finally awake. She left her hot chocolate on the coffee table and approached the bed instead. It’s quite burdensome, but since Professor Choi already gave her this task, she’ll do it properly. After all, she’s not that wicked to ignore a sick girl. She needs at least someone to nurse her.

“You’re finally awake.” She greeted the girl who’s still seems a little weak. The girl took a glance of her, a slight of confusion drawn on her face. “You’re the girl on the bus earlier.” She said with a weak voice. Hearing the helpless voice makes Naeun felt sorry to the girl.

“Yes.” She took a seat beside the bed. Since the girl tried to seat, Naeun gave her a hand. She just realized that this is the first time she ever have a courage to act right towards a stranger.

“Thank you for earlier.” The quietly said. Naeun shook off her head, “Nope. It’s not even a big deal.” It’s totally different from what she thought earlier. She did felt annoyed and burdened but not now. She’s alright. All she wanted right now was the girl to recover.

“Oh, by the way — I’m Naeun. Son Naeun.” For God’s sake, this is the first time she ever introduced herself to someone. She’s bad in socializing. But this girl seems different from the others and she didn’t even know where her courage came. It just feels like it’s the right thing to be done.

A soft chukcle escapes the girl’s lips while forming a small thin line. “I’m Soojung. Jung Soojung.” It’s awkward for both of them but they didn’t stop smiling. Naeun in the other hand felt relieved somehow.

“Are you hungry?” The typical question escaped Naeun’s lips as she tried to brush away the awkwardness that’ve been surrounding around them. Soojung seems like a quiet type, which is just like her. And somehow, she weirdly felt comfortable — unlike when she’s with the other people (because she would always feel like running away).

“No. A glass of water will do.” Naeun poured a glass of water and gave it to Soojung and when she thought that Soojung would right away drank it, she was wrong. She finally learnt that Soojung also had the same power with her when she saw the water vapour suddenly formed at the glass’s surface, a sign that the water was slightly cooled. But it’s not a right thing be done right now.

“Hey, you’re having a fever remember?” Naeun warned, stopping Soojung from having her first sip of water. Soojung let out a soft chuckle, causing her to raised her brows in confusion. “Nah. I’m good with cool water. Warm wouldn’t help much. Coldness and myself can’t be separated.” She drank the water right away, ignoring Naeun’s warning earlier. Naeun was absolutely speechless and quite amused too. This Jung Soojung is really something.

“So.. You’re one of the Frost-powered students too.” Naeun said, reaching the empty glass from Soojung’s hand. The coolness was still there on the glass’s surface. She had to admit that she loves that kind of temperature too. The low one, which she’ve been living with since she was born.

Soojung didn’t answer but she did gave a slight nod. That’s fascinating. Someone from Hawk actually had Frost-power is quite cool — because usually the Frost-powered students usually belongs to Raven.

“It’s actually fun right to be Frost-powered.” Soojung suddenly said. Naeun stared at the girl who constantly seems recovering, a cold look was plastered upon her face. A look that Naeun would wear whenever she’s alone or when she felt so scared being around people.

“Yeah, it’s fun — I guess.” The way she responded obviously showed that she actually didn’t know whether she should be agreed or not. As much as Naeun loves her power, it also gave her a handicap. It’s not a big deal but being Frost-powered person makes you wear the cold-aura — which makes people doesn’t really have interest in you and your self-esteem dropped terribly.

“I know.” Soojung said, hugging her knees to the chest. “The pain of being a Frost-powered person is — the people keep thinking that we’re just as cold as our power.” Naeun couldn’t help but agree. She barely could believe that Soojung also had the same thought as her. Or maybe, all the Frosts are actually thinking the same thing?

“It can’t be helped. It’s one of our special traits.” She said. Silence came between two of them. It’s quite amusing to Naeun — she and Soojung actually got along really well, the girl is not a stranger to her anymore. Or maybe she should call her, a friend? She never gets along with anyone as fast as how she gets along with Soojung (including Sehun and Jongin of course). Not to mention that Naeun spotted few common things that she shared with Soojung — she doesn’t really talked much, she gave off the cold aura well and she thinks just like her.

“Hey, Soojung.”

“Yeah?”

“What are we?” The question might be weird but — it’s a concern to her. After these few talks with Soojung, she really wants to know what Soojung thought about her.

“I guess that we can assume ourselves to each other as — fellow Frost-powered mates.” Okay. That’s not what absolutely she expected from the girl. Sighs, seems like she’s the only one to think that both of them could be friends. Another soft chuckle came from Soojung, causing Naeun to look up at her so-called fellow Frost-powered mate — which is kinda complicated to even be pronounced ugh, can’t it sounds nicer?

“I’m joking. Of course, we shall be friends I guess — err, if you don’t even mind.” Soojung sounded quite unsure but it makes Naeun to be delighted for sure. Yes! She’s not alone this time — finally she has someone else to be with other than those two guys — Sehun and Jongin. And Naeun assume that she’s going to spend more time with Soojung after this. She wants to learn all sort of things about this girl — because she seems so special and mysterious. Just like herself: Quiet and mysterious.

“So..” Naeun cleared . “Friends are we?” She held out her hand for a shake. It feels weird for her to do this but she really want to do the same thing just like Jongin and Sehun did for her during the old days: being the one who held the hand out first. Soojung gladly take it with a small smile plastered on her face. Naeun flinched a bit upon the touch when Soojung’s hand fully gripped her hand. Her hand feels — so cold. Soojung seems to know it as she released her grip.

“I’m sorry.” She apologized.

“Nah, I’m alright. It’s not like I’m hurted or something because of it.” Naeun tried to brush away all the guilt that Soojung might felt. It’s not her fault to be born like that. Person with Frost powers usually have a low temperature, but that’s more like what happened to their old ancestors. It’s rare to find Frosted people with this kind of temperature which makes Jung Soojung would categorized as special type.

“I don’t blend too much with people so yeah, no one would knew that I’m like this.” She let out a little cough before continuing, “After my sister, Jung Soyeon finished her studies in Paradaisia, I felt so left alone. I was in the 2nd grade during that time. Without her I just feel so — helpless.” She sounded so melancholic which left a heavy thug on the other Frost girl’s heart. Soojung is much lonelier than her, she’s really really grateful that she had Jongin and Sehun for all time long.

“I don’t really make friends. It’s just part of my nature. But still, sometimes I did try to be nice — yet people always misunderstood it sometimes.” Naeun felt quite angered as she definitely understood how Soojung would feel. Silence came in between two of them, both probably absorbed with Soojung’s story. Naeun kept fidgeting her fingers, still cannot stop thinking how hard was Soojung’s life in Paradaisia during all these without her sister.

Realization does hits her and Naeun gripped the hem of her shirt way too tight. Even though she didn’t really know Soojung that much but she did feel like as if Soojung is a reflect of herself. After all those little talks, it makes her feel like Soojung is deserved to be treated like the others. If the other people couldn’t do that, then she could at least try being the one who capable to. And that’s the moment when Naeun promised to herself.

“Soojung.” She called the Frost girl's name. Soojung looked up at her, a soft expression was plastered on her face. “You know what, I swear that this is the first time I felt so comfortable around someone — asides from my friends. My only two friends.” She took a deep breath before continuing, “If it were not because of them, I might won’t be able to survive because — as far as I love to be alone, I still need someone.” She clasped her lips before reaching for Soojung’s cold hand. Her skin feels soft yet so cold, but Naeun could feel the warmth.

“And so does you. If no one would be that someone, maybe I at least could try to be — that someone. Maybe that will help you.” She could feel Soojung’s shoulder slumped, the girl looks as fragile as ever.

“I know that the combination between cold and cold would be disaster but I believe that behind the coldness, there’s warmth hidden.” Whoa, Naeun didn’t know where the heck she came with that statement but it does feels so right. She might be cold but when they’re together, the warmth between them could unveil.

“I — I don’t know how to react upon this. It’s so sudden but — I do believe in you.” Soojung sounded so low, she glanced at Naeun with a smile with confidence on her face, “I have faith in you.” That’s the most beautiful thing that Naeun ever heard of. Someone actually had faith on her — it makes her felt so special. Maybe this what Sehun and Jongin felt when she gave them a ‘yes’ on their friendship.

Soojung could feel that her hand felt warmer than ever in Naeun’s grip. The hands that were usually cold feels so warm, that she felt invicible. “Friends?” Naeun raised her brows as she looked into Soojung’s eyes. It would be the second time of them doing this but it feels more special than before.

“I wish for forever.” Soojung replied. Her hands are completely warm for real, and finally after a long time — she felt so happy.

“Oh freaking Sehun and Kim freaking Jongin! For how many thousand times I already told both of you to not do unnecessary things!?” The Frost girl totally freaked out when she suddenly spotted two weird human creatures in weird pink-coloured gown — and totally fake wigs on their head lingering in front of her hers and Soojung’s cabin on summer night. Soojung was the one who noticed it first and since it’s only both of them who’s staying in the cabin, of course she would think of something else. She would never expect that it would be her two silly bestfriends who totally sacrificed their images, crossdressing as girls which is totally gross to be even looked at.

Both of them ended up being dragged into her cabin, “Ouch, ouch, it hurts!” Sehun and Jongin kept whining in their fake girly voices as Naeun tugged on their ears. Soojung who’s sitting on her bed was terribly shocked upon the current situation — she did thought that the latters were actually girls but then judging to their awful attires — oh, what are male students doing in here?

Naeun finally released their ears and locked up the door tight, making sure that none of the professors patrolling around her cabin. After being sure, Naeun walked back to where those idiots in pink gowns were standing. Soojung seems confused with what happened — god, she felt freaking embarrassed in front of Soojung. She didn’t even expected that this kind of thing would happen.

“Hey, aren’t you Jung Soojung from the Hawk?” Soojung was quite shocked when one of the weird dressed guys suddenly called her name. His fake girly voice earlier already disappeared. Soojung in the other hand just nod and asked, “How did you know?”

The guy cleared his throat as he took off the ridiculous looking wig from his head and easily get rid off the pink-coloured dress — leaving only a normal looking boy with blonde hair in his dark red-coloured jumper. Soojung’s lips formed an ‘O’ before she tried to make a guess “Phoenix guy?” which the guy responded with a nod.

Following the Phoenix guy earlier, the other guy also took off all the ridiculous stuffs — leaving only a brunette boy in his dark-green jumper. “You’re Jung Soojung and you’re from Hawk. Frost powered?” The brunette boy spoke which once again made Soojung to nod her head. She still seems confused but judging to how Naeun reacted earlier, she could make a conclusion that these boys might be the ones who Naeun always told her. She only had two friends.

“Alright you two, enough with that.” Naeun cut them off as she let herself to take a seat beside of Soojung, leaving the two boys to take a seat on her bed instead. “My question again, what are you boys doing here?” Naeun asked with annoyance.

None of them seems like going to answer her question as they stayed quiet, small pouts formed on their lips as well — Naeun sighed heavily before she stood up and took a look upon the weird dresses on the floor. Her eyes went wide as her eyes caught a small tag on the dresses that read ‘Paradaisia: Drama Club’.

“Oh my god, you guys are so dead.” She muttered under her breath, almost cursing upon what she saw. Right now, she only wished that she could froze the two idiots in front of her right now. Jongin sheepishly smiled while nudging at Sehun, “It was his idea originally.” Sehun looked at the guy beside him with wide eyes while muttering a “Kim Jongin you’re ing dead.”

Naeun shook her head for god’s sake she couldn’t even count for how many times she did it. She probably understand that her two bestfriends are worried because it’s her first time going to somewhere without them — but they’re crossing the line. They would be in trouble if they were caught because male students are strictly forbidden in the camp area, it would create a big issue. Without anyone realized, Jung Soojung silently smiled as she took a look at all three of them. It gives her strange feeling — more like a comfortable one. When she knew that they were the friends that Naeun always talked to her about during the whole time at their camp, it makes her thought that Naeun is surely lucky to have them. It’s kinda cute actually to see those two guys risking on their self because of their only girl friend.

“Alright. Whoever came with this ridiculous idea is not important but really just please. You two would probably be in trouble because of me. Don’t you remember during the last time? Three of us ended up attending extra-training sessions because of me and I didn’t want such kind of thing to happen again.” Naeun spoke, trying to sound a little bit serious but careful because she didn’t want any of the two felt bad. She treasures both of them so much.

Sehun and Jongin looked at each other, a guilty expression were plastered on their faces, finally the realization hits them. They’re looking like little kids who just scolded by their mum — and two of them were pouting childishly which makes Naeun to palm her face while Soojung let out a soft chuckle. Naeun’s friends are so adorable.

All three of them suddenly glanced up at Soojung who’s chuckling after being silent for so long. Naeun who seems didn’t expect that kind of reaction from Soojung felt amused as well — because as far as she knew, Soojung always said that she barely acted like herself around people she didn’t know. Sehun and Jongin in the other hand continuously blinked while still looking at the other girl.

Slight embarrassment hit Soojung and she could feel that her cheeks felt warmer. Naeun probably noticed the slight blush on Soojung’s cheeks. It makes her felt so glad which she didn’t know how to explain why. She’s just glad.

“Did she just laughed? Or is that a chuckle?” Sehun suddenly spoke out his thought, causing Jongin to hit him in the head. “Idiot, it was a light chuckle.” Jongin couldn’t help it because Sehun is probably the brattiest person on Earth and he could be insensitive sometimes. “It’s weird. This is the first time I saw her doing something like that.” Sehun blatantly said while pointing at Soojung which makes the girl felt more embarrassed. Naeun who saw Soojung’s fingers kept fidgeting, reached her hand and gave a light massage — which probably means ‘hey, it’s okay'.

Jongin who caught the situation of Naeun calming Soojung feels suddenly happy. Naeun was right. They shouldn’t be worried too much of her. Naeun could be helpless sometimes but that doesn’t mean she can’t do anything by herself. Jongin silently cursed at himself for agreeing upon Sehun’s childish idea.

“Sehun, I think that we should go.” Jongin said to Sehun, which to Sehun’s surprise — Sehun seems like didn’t want to leave yet. Naeun gave Jongin a concern look, which Jongin understood right away. “Sehun, Naeun is absolutely okay and she have Soojung by the way.” Jongin secretly stole a glance of Soojung. It saddens him a bit that Jung Soojung seems like didn’t recognize him — for Merlin’s sake they’ve been attending the same class for Psychology subject for almost a year.

Sehun pouted for few seconds then drew a playful smile. “Alright! We’ll wait for you to come back. Make sure to come back safely alright, Princess?” Sehun stood up, only to find his hand reaching Naeun’s cheeks to pinch them playfully. Yeah, just like how they used to be. Finally, it’s over — phew, now Naeun could rest assured.

Jongin settled up the stuffs that they’ve brought over. May God protects them from being caught by Luhan, the club president of Paradaisia’s Drama Club. The senior seems nice but he could be vicious sometimes — especially when it comes to his power, mind-reading. They won’t be able to make any excuses then. Ugh, next time he’s going to make sure to think twice before agreeing on Sehun’s childish idea.

Sehun in the other hand kept blabbering to Naeun and Soojung to take care of themselves like as if he’s the father and the girls were his daughters. Naeun kept rolling her eyes as she heard Sehun’s nonesense blabberings and childish rants — he’s lucky that she loves to listen to it.

It’s almost 12 in the midnight, the professor would come soon to check on them so it’s better for the two boys to depart now. Jongin hold the drama club stuffs in his lap, Sehun dealing with the wigs as he put them on again, trying to look funny. Soojung and Naeun ended up bursting into laughter because it looks so funny on Sehun. And as usual, before they departed back, Naeun and the boys had group hug which in the end she was being squeezed between the boys — she swore that she’s going to miss them after this night. She still have like two weeks until the camp ended.

Soojung bid her goodbye to the boys, smile didn’t leave her face at all. She had to admit that tonight’s surprising event would be such a memorable moment for her. It taught a little bit about how precious the friendship was. “Goodbye Jongin and Sehun.” She said and waved shyly, and of course the boys waved to her back. “Hey, Soojung.” Jongin called her out and she responded with a small nod.

“See you in the next class.” Jongin gave a gentle smile. Soojung blinked confusedly while trying to remember — oh yes, Kim Jongin is one of her classmate for Psychology subject. How come she didn’t even realized about that earlier. “Yeah, sure.” She gathered up her courage to reply.

“We’re sorry for the commotions. Good night girls!” Sehun said, bidding his goodbye as he clung onto Jongin. In just few seconds, they disappeared from the girls sight. Naeun took a deep breath, phew what a long night. She suddenly felt empty because the boys were gone but then she didn’t forgot that she has Soojung with her.

“I’m sorry, they’re so unexpectable sometimes.” Naeun apologized to Soojung. Honestly, she’s afraid if Jongin and Sehun’s presence makes Soojung felt uncomfortable — but seems like she doesn’t have to worry about it. “They’re so loud and cute. Seems like that they really care about you.”

Naeun let out a small chuckle, “Yeah, they could be quite over-protective too sometimes. I felt so blessed though to have them in my life.” She does feel lucky — sometimes,  she felt like she doesn’t deserve to have them because they’re so precious and so nice. But of course, she treasures them alot that’s why they’re still together.

“It makes me think that friendship is truly such a beautiful thing.” Soojung suddenly said. It makes Naeun felt relieved once again to hear about Soojung’s thoughts about her friends.

“It’s okay Soojung. I’m willing to share them with you.” She said jokingly — but in the same time hoping that Soojung would agree to it. She wants Soojung to feel what friendship looks like.

“Having you is enough.” Soojung said, playfully opened up her palm and blew a flake to Naeun’s cheek. Naeun cringed at the coolness, but in the same time it feels so warm.

“You know what Soojung?” Naeun kept rubbing her cheeks, feeling the coolness and the warmth at the same time.

“What?” The girl raised her brows.

“I don’t know why but.. Both of us are cold but, when we’re together it feels warmer. Don’t you think so?” She threw a glance to Soojung.

Soojung drew a smile — the most sincere one. She turned to Naeun and she opened her palm again, some flakes were forming on the surface of her palm. “It does. It really does. It feels so warm when we’re together.” Soft chuckles keep being heard, and a small flake blowing war happened.

Finally finished writing this after three months omg ;_; I'm so sorry that I took so long heol, I hope that you guys enjoyed it though (I can't believe that I just wrote a fcking long story whoa). I didn't expect that it would be this long ((forgive me pls)). Writing about Naeun & Soojung makes me thought alot, omg just how nice if both of them are friends in real life ;_; Naeun is my precious bias and I really want to be friends with people like Soojung. Anyway, Sehun and Jongin will always be my fav duo (kekeke this two brats!) Bot sure when I will update again lol hm I'm thinking to make a 91-liners/93-liners fic for the next chapter. Before leaving, it's not too late I guess to wish this: "Happy New Year everyone!"
