Friends or More

Description

The very last time Jimin met his long lost friend is 10years ago. They were separated because Nani was discovered for having major amnesia where she totally forgot her childhood memories with Jimin due to a terrible accident when they were both little. Both their parents know how deep is their friendship, that people sometimes mistakenly thought that they were twins.

As Jimin grew up to be a youthful young man with the support of his family, he still feel guilty sometimes for what happens to Nani. Nani may has forgotten him, but Jimin never forgot about her. As a result, Jimin were never seen to be so closed friends with any girls in his school (including his classmates) as he didn’t want the same thing happen.

*Few weeks before BigHit audition*

He froze once he saw Nani from across the road. He couldn’t help but feel joy of happiness inside him. Who’s not excited to meet his long lost friend since childhood?

Without even thinking about his safety, he ran across the road to meet up with her. That makes her startled a little bit. “Nani! You came back!”, he say it out loud, giving Nani’s parents who’s walking towards them now an attention to recognized this young man.

“Auntie! Uncle! It has been a long time!”, he was also excited to meet Nani’s parents, and that young man give a 90degrees bow to them. Afterwards, they hugged each other except for Nani where she only smiled to Jimin.

“Oh, I forgot. Sorry, Jimin. Her memories is still building up even though few years has passed…”, Nani’s mother trying to clarify the awkwardness that sometimes cause Jimin to feel a little sad inside. Only God knows how much he missed his childhood friend, who has helped him with so many things throughout their life back then.

“Eomma, this is… Park Jimin-ssi? The boy that you always mention?”, Nani asked her mom who nod and smiled back to her. She felt a little bit flustered because never knew this handsome shy cute guy in front of her was once her best friend. Well, a long lost best friend.

Jimin bring them to his home, their neighborhood. Nani’s parents were all happy to see their old home back, while she’s struggling to remember every little piece of this place. They were watching her as she observed every details of this place. She knew she left so many memories here, but only time can tell her when will that memories came back to her. Jimin is watching her with hope in his eyes, yet came to nothing as she turned to see them and shook her head.

“How about you guys go tour around this place, shall you? We will go meet Jimin’s folks first, okay?”, Nani’s father try to help things go work out between those two best friend. Jimin stood up excitedly as he can’t wait to show her around. Only Nani can break Jimin’s awkwardness to girls (well best friend of course).

“Jimin, is it true like ermph.. we’re best friend?”, Nani took a sit on one of the swings at the playground, the place they used to spend time together.

“Of course. Hahaha I know it’s pretty hard for you to remember back then but we were so close that people thought we are twins.”, he laughed, making Nani gone ohhhhh and laugh too.

“Mama always tell about you throughout the years passed.”

“I’ve always waited to hear a news from you, Nani.”

Silence.  Jimin then stand behind Nani and start to push her that is still sitting on the swing.

“Kyeah Jimin-ssi, I’m big now not that little girl anymore.”

“You used to scold at me whenever I didn’t push your swing, that’s what I’m doing right now.”, they both laughed and Nani’s memories are started to come slowly. It’s painful to anyone who suffered an amnesia once their memory came back into pieces, but Nani has trained herself to withstand it. She touched her forehead, making Jimin to be nervous all of a sudden. Worry.

“Nani, are you okay?”

“Nehh I get used to it so, no worries I’m all fine.”

“You’re remembering, aren’t you?”

She turned her eyes into Jimin’s, and nod. Jimin exhaled a relief.

“Don’t worry, Jimin. It will come slowly.”, she tried to help Jimin for not thinking about how much hurt it is to have an amnesia. A moment later, he hugged her tightly and patted her head.

“Why would you go when we can actually get through everything together?”, Jimin speaks up while still hugging Nani, didn’t want to let her go. Nani only remain silent.

“I don’t know, Jimin. My parents said it is the best for both of us, we were just little that time.”, she replied.

“I could help you to build up pieces by pieces of the memory that you lost, you know?”

“Jimin, we were so small that time..”, and he released Nani. Tears appearing in both Jimin’s eyes, Nani was shocked and speechless.

“Don’t you know I’m the one who did this to you?”

Silence.Nani feel a little stressed so suddenly, thank god their parents are calling out for both of them to come inside the house. She’s leaving but before she can, Jimin hold her right hand.

“Idiot, thank you for coming back here.”, and he hugged and hit a little hard on her head before they walked together to the house. Their parents from afar watching them with a smile on their faces.
