Take Flight

Description

Hakyeon runs away, but Wonshik knows just where to find him.

Foreword

This was written on request of a roleplay friend of mine (a Hakyeon roleplayer actually). She asked me to write her a Navi oneshot, so I said yes, and she wanted to give me some kind of prompt so I ended up telling her I’ve done all kinds of prompts (words, first sentences, and musical pieces) so she gave me a song – Take Flight by Lindsey Stirling.

This story is based off the feelings I received from the song itself – not the video that came with it (though the video is stunning). Please enjoy~

Chapter 1: I absolutely adore Lindsey Stirling and I have a definite soft spot for Hakyeon, so when I started reading this, I didn't know what I was getting into at all. You hit me on a much more personal level than I thought it would (damn do I know how Hakyeon felt here - and I've certainly had that feeling of running away myself), and because of that, I felt so much more than I thought I might. I definitely got a bit choked up when going through this story and I absolutely adored how Wonshik was able to find him. Bugger it hit so close to home too by how Hakyeon didn't even realize that Wonshik might remember such a small detail, and how he had a habit of trying to help everyone else without ever trying to reach out to one of them, and how from his perspective, his efforts never seemed to be enough, and how he just didn't see himself as worth bothering them over with his own troubles. T_T I don't know whether to smile or cry at this point because I can relate to all of it and I was just so floored by the end with how easily Wonshik was able to bring him back without pushing too hard or trying to make him feel guilty or anything like that. Admittedly, I definitely laughed at the banana milk explanation. haha That was a needed bit of levity for sure. I'm really glad with how it ended too.

It was a lovely and bittersweet story indeed, and I can see how you might have pulled this from the prompt song. I'm glad I found it and I thank you for sharing. Well done. Well done indeed.
