It was a typical Tuesday afternoon in the Madison Halls. Students were playing games in the arcade area. Some were studying in the small library area and some were just being noisy… Like the three friends in room 309. “Hey lower down your music!!”  It was a commotion inside. “Where is it? Where is it?” a girl walked frantically fast around the dorm looking for something “AAAH~ this is driving me nuts” she shouted.

 

“What’s her problem?” the oldest of them asked.

 

“She’s looking for something” she said uninterested while munching on her chips. “Nothing’s good on TV”

 

“Well, thanks for that” she sarcastically replied while the other girl stick her tongue out. “Hey Philly!” she tried to call her. “Philly, what are you looking for?”

 

The youngest of them, Philippa, stopped in her motion and looked at Sam “My Dinosaur costume!” she whined

 

“Your dinosaur costume?” Sam made sure she heard the younger girl right.

 

Philippa nodded

 

On the other hand, Phoebe just laughed at them. “The Dinosaur costume is missing! Oh nooo” she laughed.

 

“Hey this is serious matter” Philippa said. “I need it for this Korean kind of show” she continued looking around.

 

Sam and Phoebe couldn’t help but giggle at how adorable their youngest roommate is. “Aish this kid- let’s go help her” she gestured.

 

They helped Philippa look for her costume. Their dorm room was not that big. It was bigger than the other rooms in the halls. They have their own kitchen, own bathroom, and even a mini lounge. The state of their room at the moment is quite messy since it is their holiday break so they have not clean it up. Sam couldn’t believe how this kid misplaced her costume in a medium-sized room. They searched everywhere… the bathroom, mini lounge, under the bed, behind the cabinets…. “Ah~wait!” Phoebe said. Everyone looked at her. “I placed it in that luggage” she pointed out. She giggled as she rubbed the back of her neck “Sorry Kiddo. It was lying around” she looked at them but they only glared at her “What?” she looked at them but they stood up and walked closer to her “It was lying around. I thought she didn’t need it” too late they attacked her. Sam and Philippa tickled Phoebe… that’s her weakness.

 

“Aaah stop stop ahahahahaha” she laughed so hard. “I’m sorry sorry” she tried stopping both of them but it was no use. “Mianhe” she tried to speak in Korean {A/N: Sam and Phoebe are not Korean} “Mianhe dongsaeng” her accent and pronunciation was kind of weird. Philippa couldn’t help but laugh “Nice try eonni!”

 

They stopped tickling her “It always work” Phoebe said

 

“What works?”

 

“I don’t want to say it. It might not work next time” she stick her tongue out. She stood up and went to the kitchen to prepare food. She left both of them dumbfounded

 

“Whatever it is it will not work next time” Philippa shouted.

 

“Yeah right”

 

Philippa fixed herself up. “Eonni!” she called her two other roommates. She got the habit of calling her roommates “Eonni” even though they are not Koreans. They were totally fine with that. In fact, they were interested and happy that Philippa was comfortable with them. “I will use the TV this afternoon, alright?” it was a smart TV. She can watch the live stream on the tv itself no need for HDMI {A/N: Rich Kids} “Oh and I need your help too” she walked towards the kitchen counter…

 

“Help with what?”

 

“I need someone to take a picture of me”

 

“What for?”

 

“My favorite K-pop girl group will guest in a Korean show where they can kind of interact with their international fans” she looked at the other two before she continued “and they have this segment called SelcaASC… I have to pose in front of the TV and copy their pose and the winner will get a signed album…”

 

“Ah seriously. The things you do for them”

 

“This is where you come in. One of you needs to take my photo” she smiled that eye smile

 

“And you’re planning to wear that dinosaur costume?”

 

Philippa nodded

 

 “Hahaha. Philly you’re too adorable!”

 

“What’s in it for me?” Phoebe asked

 

“Don’t mind her. I’ll do it for you”

 

“My photography skills are way better”

 

The two older girls started bickering. Philippa just ignored them and continued cleaning the room and making sure that the background is clean too.

 

After a few hours of waiting… Philippa was all set. She was wearing her dinosaur costume and the show already started. She was shouting “Ahh they’re so pretty and cute” she literally hugged the TV. The two eonnis watched in amusement.

 

“And of course today we have our selca proof shots” Jimin, one of the hosts said. Philippa panicked and was all over the place “Ottokke” she stood in front of the TV getting ready.

 

“Red Velvet what pose will you guys be doing?” Jimin asked. Then seulgi said “Our point dance ‘Juseyo’”

Philippa stood in every possible way with the ‘Juseyo’ pose

 

“Hurry take the photo” she smiled while saying that. “Did you take it?” she kept still “Take more so I can choose”

 

“Alright” Jimin said and the shot was over. Philippa was nervous “hurry give me my phone. I need to tweet this”

Sam handed her the phone… “You need to calm down”

 

“What should the caption be?” she stared at the photo.

 

“Didn’t Joy call you her friend last time?” Phoebe added.

 

“Oh right! That’s it! Thanks!”

 

She wrote her tweet in hangul #SelcaASC 안녕하세요 Philippa Jones 입니다~ 레드 벨벳 사랑해 조이 친구 haiiii! @arirang_ASC #RedVelvetASC

 

*posted* she sighed and she felt nervous.

 

“How will you know if they pick you?”

 

“I get a chance in showing up in their show if ASC re-tweets my tweet” she said trying to calm herself “Then it’s all up to RV to choose who gets the signed album”

 

“I know you’ll win! That photo was adorable” Phoebe cheered the dino up.

 

It took forever to get to that segment. Jimin’s fan-girling was hilarious too. Finally after minutes the SelcaASC segment is up. The host stood up and went to the touch screen.

 

“Omygash dino that’s you!!” Phoebe pointed at the screen

 

Philippa checked her phone and saw that ASC re-tweeted it. “Omo omo omo!!!!!!!” she jumped in front of the TV. She carefully watched Red Velvet’s reaction. Then one of the MC said “Philippa Jones” which caused the girl to jump even more. Red Velvet giggled at the tweet and started saying “Joy chingu~ Joy chingu~~”

 

Philippa was definitely heating up right now. Her friends on twitter was re-tweeting it. “Ok Pick one” they said. She was getting nervous at this point. Then she heard Seulgi say

 

 

 

 

 

“Joy Chingu!” then Joy voted for “Joy Chingu!!”

 

Philippa was definitely burning up. “ottokke! Did they remember me?”

 

“Congratulations Kiddo!”

 

She was just staring at the screen. Is this real? Did they really pick me? Did they remember who I was?

 

“Hey Kid are you still breathing?” Phoebe walked in front of her “Sam what should be do she’s frozen!” she teased

 

She went back to reality after getting attack with tickles. “yahh eonni!!—stop it” she laughed.

 

“Feeling better?” she nodded.

Other part of the world

It was a year ago when Irene, the leader of rookie group Red Velvet, saw Philippa Jones. It was through a Korea variety show for international fans named After School Club. Philippa  didn’t talk to them, but her tweet was picked in ASC’s Pretty Please segment where Joy greeted her a happy birthday. Irene saw Philippa’s profile picture and thought that she was cute and her name was pretty unique.

 

After some months of hiatus for their comeback, they’re finally back to interact with their international fans in After School Club. Irene got lost in her thoughts. She’s trying her best to remember the different meanings of each songs just in case the MCs asked. Her trail of thoughts got interrupted when……

 

“Joooy eonni! Saranghae!” Jimin, one of the MC shouted from afar. She’s a BIG Joy fan. She wasn’t on the last broadcast but glad that she’s here now. “This episode will be interesting” Irene thought. Jimin continued running towards Red Velvet as they exchanged bows and greeted each other. They did a practice rehearsal. Not long the show started and they were lively again.

 

Wendy spoke in Korean so the other members can feel at ease and join in the conversation with the MCs. It was much more comfortable this time. The show was really fun. The questions and comments from the fans were really funny and interesting especially the Music Video reactions. The show went on and on. Jimin’s fan-girling to Joy is the funniest.

 

Finally, the last hang-out. “Cupcakes” Irene thought. She was hungry. We’re doing the last segment now. The fans were so cute. It makes us (RV) happy to see fans put so much effort in their fan-arts, and covers. The MCs were scrolling down and reading the different selca shots. When “Joy Chingu~” they said. Irene’s attention was drawn to the screen to see a girl wearing a dinosaur onesie. “Aaadorablee” that’s what she thought. Wendy was telling us that she was the same girl from ASC last year. “Oh Philippa -ssi” Irene was lost in thoughts again. Until the other members started to fool around. She started to do her armpit and did some fan service for their international fans.

 

After the recording we thanked the staffs and took some photos with the MCs. Red Velvet borrowed their manager’s phone and checked twitter for comments and hilarious tweets. Wendy was the one translating for the others. Irene couldn’t help but to open twitter on her own phone (A/N: Let’s pretend they have their own one) and save the dinosaur’s photo.  Little did she know someone saw what she did.
