Chapter 2: My New Job
Perfect for Me"So what's this job like?" I was following this "kind" man to this new job. (He's so naive!! Pabo Wookie!)
"Here..." he led me into an alleyway.
A gang of men crowded around me, "What do you guys want? Are they part of the job or something?" I stuttered. I felt a bit nervous and I felt a cold chill run up my spine. This didn't seem like a good idea anymore...
"Shut up, pretty boy! Give us your money!" They ganged up on me.
My heart was racing. I was so scared!... But I hadn't gone to the military for nothing... In the military, I'd been trained to fight and to defend myself. I thought that I'd never need to use what I'd obtained from the three years in the military, but now was the time... I clenched my fists and ran into the fight.

When the fight came to an end, luckily I made it out alive... As I escaped from the gang fight, I dashed around the corner and hid behind a car. I tried to muffle my heavy breathing to hide myself better. Soon I heard their footsteps turn around the corner. I listened for any commotion and when I no longer heard any, I decided that it'd be safe for me to leave my hiding spot.
One lesson I'd learned: don't trust anyone! I started out again on my search for a job. Walking through the city is quite an experience with people handing out fliers. I noticed many people ignoring the fliers so I decided to take every paper out of courtesy. Before I knew it, my hands were filled with a bunch of fliers.
When I finally got the chance to sit down, I looked through all the fliers. I figured that this would be a safer approach to finding a job. Clothes, prep class, sales, ..., hiring dating agency? Hiring dating agency? I peered at the rest of the information on the flier and found myself heading over. This seemed more promising.
I arrived at the dating agency and climbed up a flight of stairs. At the top of the stairs, I reached a door. This was it! I took a deep breath and set my hand onto the doorknob. I turned the doorknob and opened the door. When I was inside I looked around at an empty office-like environment. I didn't see anyone, so I tried knocking on the door. "Hello, anyone in?"
"Yes, yes?" A petite woman came running out of an inner office with a stack of folders in her arms. My eyes instantly scanned her (this was a skill I obtained from being in the military) up to down. She was really small, maybe 5'2 or so. Her smooth black hair was tied in pigtails that sat on her shoulders. The blouse that she was wearing was slightly crumpled up and she wore thick-framed glasses that sat at the tip of her nose. This woman looked like she was still in high school... Was this serious?
"Hi, could I speak to the person in charge of this dating agency?" I smiled at her. She must be a volunteer or something, maybe she was working part-time...
"Yes, how can I help you?" She pushed her glasses up and smiled at me.
"Um," I sighed, "I want to talk to the person in charge; the manager?" I tried re-phrasing my request.
"Yeah, I heard you the first time. I am the manager of this dating agency. How can I help you?" She clarified, which kind of shocked me. What? She was the person in charge? But she looked like a kid!
"Oh, I'm sorry!" I apologized. I didn't mean to "insult" her. I wondered if there was still a possibility that she'd hire me. "You look so... young...." I smiled, hoping that she'd accept that. compliment.
Taeyeon's smile never left her face. Instead her smile just grew bigger and she laughed. "Oh, it's alright!" She seemed a bit flustered. "Sure! You're hired!"
'Wow, no interview or anything? That was easy...' I thought to myself. "My name is Kim Ryeowook," I introduced myself. I stuck my hand out for her to shake.
She smiled and took my hand to shake, "Wow, we have the same last name! I'm Kim Taeyeon," she patted the seat next to her, "Come sit here... I don't bite!"
I smiled back. She seemed pretty friendly.
"So, tell me about you," Taeyeon sat forward in her seat.
"I was just discharged from the military. I grew up in America, so I know English pretty well..." I trailed off. What else should I tell her?
"Oh, I see... So how old are you?" Taeyeon seemed a bit nosy.
'Does that have to do with anything?' I thought to myself. "I'm 26."
"Oh! So you're my oppa then!" Taeyeon giggled," I'm only 24."
'24?! I thought that she was only 16!' I thought to myself. "I see..." I commented.
