Looking out in front of me,

All I see is blue,

Sapphire blue.

A vast emptiness that threatens to swallow me up indefinitely stares at me almost daringly,

Tempting me to swim to the ends of it’s depths,

In search,

Of him.

Him,

The one with the beautiful blonde hair and the perfect body.

The one with the jawline that looks as though it was handcrafted by God himself.

The one who’s smile makes my heart move faster than Poseidon’s waves.

Him,

The human.

Forced to only gaze at him from perching amongst the rocks near shallow water,

I dream of what it would be like to be human.

To be with him.

What would it be like to trade this sapphire blue tail and a life in the sea,

For two fleshy legs and a chance to be with my beloved?

What would it be like to kiss him?

What would it be like to be loved and held by him?

But why would he choose to love someone like me?

A creature who is bound to the sea and is forbade from even glimpsing at a human with intimate feelings.

Why?

Why would he ever love a merman like?
