It was their fateful night. They were destined to meet at that night.  

Eunhyuk was walking outside his apartment to take in some fresh air in the middle of night. He’d never leave his house especially on midnight but today was an exception. He was so stuck in his work and needed some time to rest. He figured out taking a walk outside his apartment and headed to the nearby park would be pleasant. So far it is, until he heard a soft groan.

Eunhyuk stopped on his track and started to scan his surroundings. There was none besides him in the park. He shake his head thinking that he might be hearing things and was about to take a step forward when he heard the soft groan again.

                He became more aware of the soft grunts and tried to find the source. That someone must be in pain, he thought. Therefore, he turned around was practically running to search for the source – or the person – when he spotted something near the fountain in the park. He catches his breath before squinting on his eyes to get a better view of that ‘something’. He saw a man was barely unconscious and his back against the fountain’s wall.

                Eunhyuk took a step closer towards the latter slowly and was about to touch him when a gun was pointed right in front of face. The Blondie froze at his spot and was shocked when he saw it was the latter who pointed a gun to him. Eunhyuk watched the latter and noticed that the brunette was bruised all over his face and he could tell that the brunette’s abdomen is in pain also.

                “I’m not going to hurt you. I just want to help you”, said the monkey. WOW! He wondered where he got the braveness from even when a gun was pointed at him.

                “Put down the gun, ok? I promised on my life I will not hurt you”, Eunhyuk reached for the gun and to his surprise, the brunette complied with him. He took the gun and put on his back.

                “Can you walk?”, the Blondie asked the brunette while wrapped his arm around the brunette’s waist and helped him stand on his own feet. The brunette was having a hard time to walk and keep falling because his leg was injured and Eunhyuk could see that his trouser was tainted with blood.

                In the end, Eunhyuk decided to give the brunette piggyback ride to his apartment. The brunette was startled at first but eventually gave in because he didn’t know if his leg could stand the pain anymore.

                Eunhyuk could feel the brunette’s warm, hot breath against his skin and he felt something he never feels before, well in a good way. Eunhyuk stole a glance toward the brunette on his back and could tell that the latter is exhausted.

                ‘I wonder what happened to him?’ the Blondie thought.

                Eunhyuk reached his apartment and put the brunette on his bed and took some clean towel, clothes and warm water to wipe the brunette bruised. He even treated the stranger’s wound on his leg and changed the brunette’s cloth to his cloth. The brunette knew he was too tired to fight back when the Blondie treated his wound so only a soft grunt escaped his mouth. After a while, the brunette was already in his deep sleep after the Blondie has finished treating his wound.

                Eunhyuk stood up and went to clean up himself before he joined the brunette on his bed. Eunhyuk stares at the brunette’s sleeping face and couldn’t help but to feel like nervous and … excited? Eunhyuk shook his head and decided to sleep on the sofa at the living room, instead.

                The next day, the brunette woke up feeling a lot better. He opened his eyes and slowly adjusted at the amount of light he had to take in. He stared at the ceiling while trying to remember what happened last night. Suddenly, the door was opened and revealed a smiling Blondie that was carrying a tray.

                ‘Hey, you’re awake. Here I brought you some soup. After you eat, you’ll have to drink this painkillers, okay?’, eunhyuk sat at the edge of the bed and slowly put the tray on the nightstand. He handed the soup towards the brunette and the latter gladly eats the food. Eunhyuk just smiled at the sight of the boy eating and somehow it makes his heart feel warm.

                “Say, what your name is?” the Blondie asked.

                                The brunette looks up and stared at the Blondie for a while. Eunhyuk couldn’t stand his intense stare and couldn’t help but to shift his gaze and fake a cough.

                “Donghae. Lee Donghae”, he said and continued to eat and took the painkillers. Eunhyk stare at him for a while and couldn’t help but to smile.

                “Lee Donghae. What a nice name. I’m Hyukjae by the way. Lee Hyukjae. But you can call me Eunhyuk”, Eunhyuk introduced himself. Donghae looks up again and the Blondie didn’t fail to catch   the sight that Donghae’s eyes got teary. Donghae stopped eating and put back the bowl on the tray.

                Donghae immediately lie down and cover himself in the blanket. Eunhyuk was shocked to his reaction and was practically jump on his bed from the edge to where donghae is laying.

                “Hey, donghae. Did I say something wrong? Donghae?” Eunhyuk tried to pull away the blanket but Donghae was strong enough not to let Eunhyuk pry off the blanket to see his face. Donghae was crying now and he didn’t want anyone to see him crying, he hated it.

                “Donghae, I’m sorry if I hurt you”, Eunhyuk eventually gives in and apologise for something he didn’t know what was his fault. He just feels like to.

                “No, it’s not you Eunhyuk. It’s just me. I need some time. Could you leave alone for a while?” Donghae managed to speak without let out a sob.

                Donghae could feel Eunhyuk’s warm hand caress his hair. Donghae closed his eyes and relaxed in instant at the warmness but soon frown as the warmness gone.

                “Okay, Donghae. I’ll be outside. If you need anything just call out for me, okay? I’ll come back to bring your lunch. For now, rest. I’m sorry again, Donghae”, Eunhyuk gave him one last longing look before stood up and left the room.

                Donghae was crying because of the warmness that Eunhyuk gave to him. He has longed for such warmness since he was a little kid. He cried because no one ever told him that his name is pretty. Not even his parents because they died and Donghae didn’t even have any singe memories of them. He was touched at Eunhyuk’s warm words and hand that caress him.

                 Donghae realised that his heart beats faster at the thought of the Blondie. He put his hand on his chest and could feel his heart was practically beating like crazy.

                Donghae soon realised he couldn’t stay here longer or Eunhyuk will get hurt. But, he didn’t want to leave yet, not when he has developed a special feeling toward the Blondie.

                Meanwhile, Eunhyuk don’t know why but he feels hurt when Donghae asked him to get out. He didn’t want actually. He just wants to hug the brunette and comfort him. Eunhyuk let out his frustrated sigh. Why is he being like this for someone he just met in not less than 24 hours ago?

                “Could it be? Could it be that I’ve fallen in love?” The Blondie muttered and put his hand on his chest and felt that his heart was beating like crazy.

Eunhyuk then realised that donghae needs to go soon because Donghae must have his own family, right? And after that they’ll not meet again. At the thought of it, Eunhyuk felt his heart was being squeeze.

 If so, then,

                ‘God, just a little bit. Let me stay with him’, they silently prayed.
