I just hope the students are good. 

I walk into the school, asked for directions. Landed myself in the staff room. 

*knock knock* I entered 

“ah, Hi, I am the new English teacher, Kim Kyoungjae."

“Ah Mr Kim, come, come.” rushed in by Mr Pon, handing me a piece of paper that seemed to be my timetable and class locations.

“This is you timetable, for today, you’ll be a substitute teacher for this class”  Pointing the class to me, “ They have not have a teacher for 3 days, as we don’t have any teachers available, after Mrs Shim got hospitalised for pregnancy” Ah, okay. 

“you have to prepare for your class now…. you have to go to class soon"

“yes, okay, may I know where is my desk?” 

“Ah, right, its there” bringing me around a row of cubicles. pointing an empty cubicle to me

Settling down. Looking at my surroundings. Mr Pon placed a stack of files, thanking him.

Quietly sighing, I took a pile of files and look through what the previous English teacher has taught the class. Next, looking at all the student files for this class.Hmm, Hoonmin has not been in class for the past free days, DongHo, a bright student, Kevin, excels in English, a responsible student. Hmm

“Mr Kim"

“Ah, just call me Eli"

“Okay, Eli, you have to go to class soon. you’re class is at Level 3 class A"

“Yes, thank you so much Mr Pon"

“Just call me Junshun"

“Thanks Junshun” With that, I took what I needed and headed to my class

As I entered, I looked around, silently inhale 

“Good morning everyone, I will be filling in for both your substitute and regular teacher.”I walked in, spotting the teacher’s desk, I place my bag there 

 “Hi I’m Mr Kim, Kim Kyoungjae. Eli is my English name. Eli Kim. You can call me Mr Kim” I paused and I was absorbed into this boy’s eyes “or just call me Eli” I continued 

I took their attendance 

 

I organised my files and started teaching 

I kept looking at that boy, his name should be Kevin...

After class ended, I organise my papers and files, hearing someone approach me

 

“Mr Kim?” Kevin clutching his bag strap

I looked up  and smiled “Yes?"

“My name is Kevin. I just want to welcome you to the class. As the class president, its my job to make sure every teacher feel welcome” I took in his  angelic smile. He extend his hand for a handshake

“Thank you very much Kevin, nice to meet you” replying with a smile

I reply his handshake and our hands touch. An electric zap ran through my body

Trying not to feel affected 

“Eh, well, I should be heading to my next class. Welcome and enjoy the rest of the day “ Surprised with his eye smile. My eyes slightly widen my heart just melted  I quickly compose myself

I watch him walk out of the door

Going back to the office, arranging all my books neatly on the desk, looking at my timetable. Ah, I have a lesson for the last two periods

 

Looking through my student files and what the other teachers have taught. Staying the the office for both recess and lunch, preparing for the next class and class tomorrow.  

Entering the class, I introduce myself and start teaching.

 

 

The bell rang, indicating the last period, dismissal of students.

I headed back to my office, packing and once again, organise my desk. 

I took Kevin’s file and read through it, ah, he lives above me, what a coincidence

 

I talked to Junshun and some other teachers. Dismissing myself after all the teachers head home.

Walking out of the building, I saw Kevin and I lean against the pillar and watch him

He suddenly just stop, seemed to be in a dazed

 

*plop* his books fell, one by one

I chuckled at his behaviour, not noticing his books dropping out

 

Ah, he noticed I’ll go help him

“It’s totally fine, I’m almost finish” he only picked up two

“you sure? Cause your books just fell and you’ve only picked up two” He looked up

I heard his breath hitch How adorable 

“Thinking about the devil” He whispered 

He was thinking about me? “Thinking about me?” 

 “uh..um…I..I”  so he was thinking about me

thats adorable [chuckled]

 

“eerr.. E…Mr Kim” he struggles to call me 

I turned around and he bumped into him

“I’m so sorry"

“Eli, just call me Eli"

he seems surprised “o..okay… erm… Eli?” My body just stiffen 

“eh.. you… you have my books"

“No, Its totally...

“But I don’t want to be a...

I just grab his wrist and drag him to my car

Before he could even tell me his address, I drove, not wanting him to change his mind. 

Peeking at him, he focuses on the window and watches buildings and trees pass by.

We reached to his place, helped him with his books, found his keys.

 

Went home, took out Kevin’s file and read through it again

hm, he is a good role model student. Good grades, participates in student activity, his a good boy. 

Preparing for my second day of classes, opening a can of redbull, looking through of what I should prepare and how I should prepare it, some notes from Mrs Shin helped me.
