Chapter 1 Kevin's POV
Is this relationship allowed?Kevin's POV
"Teacher not in today, either?" Hoonmin asked
Hoonmin, my bestfriend since I arrived this school - 2 years ago... he is known as the latecomer and the detention king.
Him always being late causes me to sit alone surrounded by restless and noisy classmates. Releasing a sigh, propping my elbows, gently placing my cheeks on my fists. “Nope, teach is not in. HOW can you forget that she’s giving birth?” emphasising the HOW and reminding - more like reprimanding him.
Ignoring me, “shouldn’t the sub be here?”Asking again. watching him place his bag nest to his desk and climb over the seat. His chest touches the backrest and looks at me. “if you came to school earlier for these three days, you would not have missed Englsih and know that the substitute teacher is not in.” replying with a hint of anger and annoyances in my tone, puffing my cheeks, deflating them into a pout.
“Aww, Kevin, I want to pinch your checks now” Hoonmin stretching his hands reaching for my cheeks. Slapping them away “stop it”
I hate it when people see me as a child

“Good morning everyone, I will be filling in for both your substitute and regular teacher.” A tall man with dark hair walked in wearing a black V-neck that cling onto his body showing his defined chest and jeans that make his legs seem long. White shoes, that seem just bought.
His gentle but powerful voice cut through my train of thoughts.
He stands behind the large desk, gentle placing his bag on it.
He clears his throat. “Hi I’m Mr Kim, Kim Kyoungjae. Eli is my English name. Eli Kim. You can call me Mr Kim” he paused and stop to look at me “or just call me Eli” I blushed.

The bell rang, indicating
the 1st period is over. Everyone rushed squeezing their way out through the small door.

“Mr Kim?"
He looked up and smiled “Yes?"
“My name is Kevin. I just want to welcome you to the class. As the class president, its my job to make sure every teacher feel welcome” Giving him my angelic smile. Nervously, I extend my hand for a handshake

He extends his hands out and our hands touch. An electric zap ran through my body

“Eh, well, I should be heading to my next class. Welcome and enjoy the rest of the day “ I gave him my brightest smile, surprising him with my melting heart eye smiles.
His eyes slightly widen see i told you but quickly compose himself.
Taking quick steps out of the dorm. Feeling eyes on my body.
Once i step out of the door, I let out my breath, my heart is still racing. Kevin, go to math class now
Rushing to my nest class, taking a seat. The teacher walks in and starts teaching.
But no matter how hard I try. I cannot focus in class, my thoughts wonder to Eli - no- Mr Kim
Unconciously, doodling his name continuously on my notebook
Why can’t you focus today? This is not the normal you. scolding myself but again - distracted-

He probably won’t be here tomorrow. yeah. Mrs Shim would be back. He is just a substitute for today

Realising the class is empty, I rushed put, finding the hallways empty
Sighing as I slowly approach my locker, dragging my hands and putting folders and books into my bag.
Unconsciously my thoughts run over to Eli. Ah, the smile that I saw this morning Smiling to myself at the thought of that.
Walking out of the building, heading towards the bus stop thinking about Eli

fantasising about me and Eli together. Nah, that must be impossible, he probably has a girlfriend or already married.
Feeling something odd. I looked down. Uh, my book bag broke. Shaking my head, I was over-thinking, bending down and reaching for my books. A shadow and a hand within my sight, wanting to help, not wanting to trouble anyone “ It’s totally fine, I’m almost finish"
“you sure? Cause your books just fell and you’ve only picked up two” Recognising the voice
I looked up

He just chuckled, helping me taking my books while I just froze at my spot staring at him
I realised that he helped me pick up all my books. I quickly reached my hands out to get them but he turned away
I rushed after him “eerm.. E…Mr Kim"
He turned around and I bumped into him
“I’m so sorry”
“Eli is fine"
“What?” confused
“Eli, just call me Eli"
“o..okay… erm… Eli?” his body stiffen
“yes?” he smiled warmly I slightly melted
“eh.. you… you have my books"
“Oh,don’t worry. I’ll give you a ride home"
“No, Its totally...
Interrupted “It’s okay, I’ll take you home"
“But I don’t want to be a...
“bother? No, it’s okay, I’ll take you home” Eli insisted
“E..Mr I’m, its okay. I can...
He took my wrist and drag me to his car
I open my mouth wanting to refuse but Eli interrupt “I owe you one, you are the only student that welcome me to the school… oh, and call me Eli"
Reaching for my books “Oh, Its totally fine. i can go home by myself...
he gently shove me into the front seat. he quickly seated himself at the driver’s seat and smiled at me
I hesitated, debating whether I should tell him my address
The car was already on the road
“I have your address, don’t worry"
But how?
As though he read my mind “I checked all my student files"
I silently nodded
My eyes directed at the window, counting the trees.
My eyes wondered to Mr Kim, slowly taking in his looks, from his hair to his chin
Suddenly, Eli turned towards me. He caught me staring at him and I quickly turned away.
He chuckled “ Am I that interesting to look at?” he jokingly asked
Me being too caught up in the moment, I took it seriously, stuttering a lie “no…no, I was em, looking at the building behind you”
He just nodded with a smile and continue to drive.
He arrived at my apartment, he got out with my books and climbed up with me leading him to my door. Taking out my wallet, to get my house key - not there- , looked for it in my bag - not there-, checked my pockets - not there-
Looking at me with concern “Kevin, your keys?"
“I can find them, its okay, I just forgot where i’ve put them” another lie slipped through my lips. Wanting him to quickly leave.
I quickly took my books out of his hands “Thank you Mr Kim for the ride home, you can go now"
“Okay, no problem, see you at school tomorrow”he turned and went down
And I’m searching for my keys and trying to recall where I’ve put them.

“I know I’ve put my keys here, where are they?” still searching for my keys, It has been 5 minutes and I am starting to lose hope.
“Kevin” I jumped, he was still here?
“ah, em, Mr Kim” meekly said “Why are you here?” Wow, where did you get that confidence to speak to him
“You seem not to have you keys, I’ll bring you to my place” he offered How sweet
“It’s really fine, I think I have a spare key around here, I just forgot where I placed them”
Now you remembered you had a spare key?
Hey, I totally forgotten the spare key,I don’t even know where I’ve placed it

just shut up
“I’ll help you search” not knowing what to say, I just nodded. We started to look around, splitting sides, Mr Kim looks for the right side while me, the left side.
Still finding, Mr Kim is also still searching

“Kevin, I can’t find it anywhere here"
“Same here” disappointed, I pouted my lips
“Ah! I found it!”
He found it! WAAAHH!!!
I turned around and I saw the key dancing on his fingertips, my face brighten
“Thank you so much Mr Kim” I smiled brightly at him
Quickly opening my door and entered
“Mr Kim, would you like to come in for a drink?"
“It’s okay, its already late, I should go now” He turned down my offer
“Oh, okay, good night sir” softly replied
“You too Kevin, see you at school” Speechless,I just nodded.
I watched him turn and went down till I could no longer see him. Sighing at myself while closing the door. Thinking about him again.
