“Mrs. Kim Ryuki?” A tall lanky girl dressed in a pencil skirt and a white top that bore the name Miss Jang Haeyi greeted her at the waiting room of the medical examiner’s office.

“Yes,” Ryuki answered.

“I’m the Chief Medical Examiner here,” she said and shook Ryuki’s hand. We’re ready for you,” she said.

Ryuki stood up with all her might along with San, holding her mother’s hand tightly. “San, stay here with this nice lady here, okay? I’ll be right back,” Ryuki said softly, trying not to break. San obeyed easily.

They entered a room where there were bodies covered with white cloths. Ryuki’s heartbeat increased. She prayed hard not to faint.

“Ready when you are, Mrs. Kim.”

Ryuki exhaled the breath that she didn’t notice she held for too long. “Can I open it myself?” She asked.

“Sure.”

With trembling hands, she uncovered the body till the neck. She broke down. The tears that pooled at the brim of her eyes were dropping like heavy rain onto the body.

Her worst nightmare come true.

“Can you verify that it’s your husband?”

Ryuki gathered her strength to nod. His perfectly clear face before he left was decorated with scars all over. A side of him was burnt. She wasn’t one to handle blood. But all of a sudden, she could handle it at that time. All this time, she prevented herself from watching the news, afraid that a news of a plane crash would be aired. She knew a call w

How da hell can someone screw up when trying to declare someone dead or alive? Damn I srsly would have fired whoever did that
