This is it, Jongin thought. He was going to grab Kyungsoo and ask to have a quiet word with him, and then, if the elder accepted, he was going to walk around with a spring in his step for the rest of his life day and maybe even go and hang out with him after school.

If he was rejected (which was the more likely situation), he would say sorry for the inconvenience and lock himself in his room with a couple of films and lots of ice cream (which, by the way, he'd already bought in anticipation) and have a pity party for himself.

"Come on Jongin, you can do it" Sehun said, bumping their shoulders. Jongin nodded and headed towards his locker where he'd snuck his gift in yesterday without anybody noticing.

Stealthily, he unlocked his locker and grabbed the soft pororo doll he remembered Kyungsoo once said was his favourite character ever and transferred it into his bag, along with the card.

It wasn't much really; the cute penguin doll was holding onto a heart that read 'Be my Valentine?' In gold cursive lettering and the card was made by Jongin himself, a small paragraph written in his neat hand writing about his feelings.

At least he knew that even if he was rejected, Kyungsoo would still appreciate the effort.

He half zipped up his bag, thinking that his hands would probably be shaking too much when he was actually face to face with Kyungsoo, and headed to the canteen where he knew Kyungsoo had his lunch every day.
