Officially married

Not Like My Mom's Love Story

It was December 10th, meaning it was finally time for the wedding. It was really cold outside. You could see the frost on the windows of the church. Kiseop's parents wanted us to get married in the church because they were traditional Christians.

My mom and Mimi had just finished doing my hair in the back room. The wedding gown was gorgeous. I was thankful to my mom that she found it.

As I looked at myself in the mirror, I felt like I was looking at someone else.

*That girl in the mirror is me?* I didn't think makeup and changing my hairstyle slightly would make me look so different.

"Oh my gosh, you look so pretty, Unnie!" Mimi exclaimed.

"You totally take after me." My mom stated, looking like she was going to tear up. "My daughter's finally grown up."

I couldn't help but be nervous when I realized how many people would be staring at me once I walked down the aisle with my dad. I was pretty sure I would trip. The high heels were a pain.

We heard people arriving in the chapel. There was a lot of chattering. I could actually recognize my cousin and my friends' voices.

"It's gonna start in half an hour!" My dad shouted as he came inside the room. He looked at me and said "You look like your mother when we got married." Then he gave my mom a back hug.

"Jaejoong, remember how..." and my parents started to reminisce about their wedding day.

My sister was a junior bridesmaid, my brother was a groomsman, and my cousin was the maid of honor. Eli was the best man. It made the other members jealous.

The time flew by quickly because before I knew it, I was holding my dad's arm, and we were heading toward the aisle of the chapel.

"The church music started to play. It was Canon in D Major. Everyone stood up in unison. I heard people say things like, "She's so pretty!" "She definitely takes after her mom." "I wanna look like her when I get married."

I blushed hearing these compliments. But I became even more red when I realized that even Kiseop couldn't keep his mouth closed while staring at me.

"I didn't realize how fast you were growing until now. I didn't think I'd have to walk with you like this until I was 50 or something." Dad murmured.

"You and Mom arranged this. It's what you wanted." I mentioned passively as I waved at my friends.

"Who knows? Maybe this decision will be a good thing."

When we approached Kiseop and the priest, my dad said, "You better take care of my daughter. This is exactly what my dad-in-law said when I married my wife."

"I will. You don't need to worry." Kiseop replied, and it seemed like he was sincere about it despite that we would divorce in five years.

My dad went to his seat, and the wedding officially started. Everybody sat down in unison.

"You look beautiful, Jagi." He whispered in my ear, then offered his hand.

"Thanks, you look handsome yourself," I stated as I put my hand in his.

The vows that we exchanged were true. We would follow them until we divorced. My parents said that we shouldn't divorce because if we did, we wouldn't be able to get married in the church again. But I would be fine with that. We're not super religious anyway.

We put on each other's rings, and the priest asked me, "Do you, Kim Minhee, take Lee Kiseop as your lawful wedded husband, to live in the holy estate of matrimony? Will you love, honor, comfort, and cherish him from this day forward, forsaking all others, keeping only unto him for as long as you both shall live?"

"I do, "I answered. The priest repeated to Kiseop, and he also replied with "I do." while looking at me.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride." and Kiseop did. It was a very sweet kiss. I actually kissed him back. The audience shouted, cheered, and applauded. That was a pretty fun day. But I couldn't help but ponder *Would I have been happier if I married someone I actually loved?*

Everyone who was at least eighteen came to our party. There was a lot of alcohol. Soon, all the members of Super Junior and DBSK were drunk. I was sitting next to Kiseop.

Kiseop was pretty enthusiastic about the honeymoon tomorrow. We were going to California and then Oregon to visit my mom's side of the family.

"You've been to the U.S. before, right?" I asked, trying to make conversation.

"Yeah, but not to Oregon, though."

That was pretty much all we said before Kiseop had to go help AJ and Soohyun carry Eli and Hoon out because they drank so much. We said bye and went our separate ways. We wouldn't live together until after the honeymoon, but I was pretty nervous about it. I ended up taking two hours to pack and didn't get a lot of sleep.

The next day, Kiseop picked me up and we arrived at the airport at 11:30 in the morning. He was dragging both of our suitcases, and we soon headed inside the airplane.

"I get the window seat!" I exclaimed as I gladly took that seat. Kiseop scowled and sat beside me.

"So Kiseop..." He interrupted by adding in "Oppa."

"Kiseop Oppa.. what made you decide to marry me? There were other candidates that would be happy to marry you. Why me?" I questioned because I was sure Kiseop didn't know that my parents were threatened by his company.

"Well... you're different from the other girls. As soon as they saw me, they would swoon. But with you, you treated me like a normal person even though you knew I was an idol. So I thought it would be interesting. Plus, I want to change your U-Kiss bias."

"From AJ Oppa to you?" I smiled. *He might not be that bad after all.* I thought, but then Kiseop winked at the flight attendant. *Never mind, I thought that too soon.*

I then yawned and rubbed my eyes. Kiseop noticed and inquired, "You want to rest on my shoulder?"

"Really?" He nodded and tapped his shoulder. *AJ might be right. He'll flirt with other girls, but now that he's married to me, he'll control himself. I might be his new main priority. Not sure if that's good or not. It should be the only priority.*

"Alright. Thanks, Oppa." I yawned again before putting my head on his shoulder. Kiseop also ended up putting his head on my head. He claimed, "I'm tired too." So we both ended up sleeping the first few hours of the flight. I woke up and carefully placed his head on my shoulder. I looked out the window and couldn't help but wonder, how is this honeymoon going to go?
