Little moments (Like that)
The Warmth of SpringThe next day, Go Ara returned to the headquarters promptly at 10:00 am. The reception already had a notice, and led her to a meeting room.
She waited anxiously, her mind racing with thoughts of how this interview could potentially shape her academic career.
Meanwhile, Yoochun was already looking for someone suitable for Go Ara to interview. After a thorough search, he finally found a senior manager who was willing to spare some time for Go Ara's interview.
In the meeting room, Go Ara nervously adjusted her notes while waiting for the interview to begin. She couldn't believe that she was about to interview someone from Balmain, a prestigious fashion brand she had always admired from afar.
Just as the interview was about to start, the door swung open, and to Go Ara's surprise, CEO Jaejoong entered the room. Her heart skipped a beat as she realized the magnitude of this unexpected turn of events.
Jaejoong greeted them with a warm smile before turning his attention to Go Ara.
"I heard this interview is important for your final grade and major. Is that correct?"
Go Ara nodded, her voice barely above a whisper. "Yes, sir.”
Jaejoong took a seat across from her. "Well then, let's get started. I'm eager to hear what questions you have for me.”
Yoochun smiled at how understanding his friend is, and how he is willing to help. He signaled the team to help with the microphone adjustments, while Go Ara was fixing the camera.
As the interview progressed, Go Ara found herself growing more confident with each passing minute. She asked insightful questions about how young generations can start a business, how they can get a hanging position even if they are not from wealthy families, and Jaejoong's personal journey to success.
Jaejoong could see the potential in her, and he made a mental note to keep an eye on her future endeavors.
After the interview concluded, Jaejoong shook hands with Go Ara and wished her the best of luck in her studies. As they were biding farewell, a little knock was heard from the meeting room’s door. It was Su Jin.
She greeted everyone with a warm smile, her eyes filled with pride as she approached Go Ara. “I hope the interview went well.”
"Thank you so much, Lee Su Jin-si. I couldn't have done it without your help," Go Ara replied gratefully.
Su Jin placed a reassuring hand on Go Ara's shoulder. "You deserve all the credit, Go Ara. Your determination is incredible.”
“Lee Su Jin-si, can I film a little video with you?” Go Ara asked eagerly.
Su Jin nodded, her smile widening. Together, they appeared in the video, with Su Jin praising Go Ara's enthusiasm and determination, wishing her all the luck in the world.
As everybody left the room, Su Jin approached Jaejoong with a curious expression. “I didn’t know you would do the interview by yourself.”
“I didn’t know either… The cold-hearted me can soften from time to time,” Jaejoong replied with a chuckle.
Su Jin couldn't help but laugh as she leaned in to kiss his cheek, but Jaejoong turned slightly, causing her lips to brush against the corner of his lips. A moment of surprise passed between them before they exchanged a knowing smile.
Their brief moment of intimacy was interrupted by a soft cough from behind them, and they both turned to see Yoochun standing in the doorway, a knowing smile playing on his lips.
"I hate to interrupt such a tender moment, but we should probably head back to work.”
Jaejoong recomposed himself quickly, checking his watch. “Ah yes, the meeting with the creative directors from the US will start in 10 minutes.”
Yoochun teased, “Jin, if you came to see the student, I want to let you know she already went.”
Su Jin was embarrassed and she hit her friend’s arm. “See you later.”
Jaejoong and Su Jin exchanged a sheepish glance before nodding in agreement. As they made their way out of the meeting room, Jaejoong accompanied Su Jin to the elevator. When the doors opened, and Su Jin was about to step in, he gently held her arm and whispered, “I have something to discuss with you tonight, are you free?” She nodded eagerly, and waved goodbye as the elevator doors closed.
Su Jin couldn't shake the warmth that spread through her at the unexpected intimacy with Jaejoong, knowing that their connection was only growing stronger with each passing day.
Later that evening, Jaejoong returned home with a lightness in his step, eager to see Su Jin. He found her in the living room, engrossed in a variety show while simultaneously working on her laptop. With a soft smile, he approached and gently ruffled her hair.
“How can you focus with the TV on?” he teased, leaning in closer.
Su Jin grinned up at him, her eyes twinkling. “I am multitasking, babe, not like you.” She chuckled and he ruffled her hair again.
“You had dinner?” Jaejoong inquired, concern lacing his voice.
“No, waiting for you. Don’t tell me you ate,” Su Jin replied, looking up at him expectantly.
“Not yet. I'll go shower and change, then let’s order something,” Jaejoong suggested.
“I'll prepare something fast. Just go,” Su Jin insisted, already rising from her seat to head to the kitchen.
With a smile, Jaejoong headed off to freshen up. As he showered, he couldn't help but think how he didn’t want to be committed to anyone, but now he knows that he was exactly where he belonged.
As they sat down to eat, Su Jin couldn't contain her curiosity any longer. "You said you had something to tell me," she reminded Jaejoong.
Jaejoong smiled warmly. "I was thinking about how busy both of us will be in the upcoming weeks, and it got me thinking. Why don't we travel together?"
Su Jin's eyes widened in surprise. "Travel together?"
Jaejoong nodded "Yes, I thought it would be a great opportunity for us to spend some quality time together and explore new places. The last time we traveled was on our honeymoon”
"That sounds amazing," she exclaimed, unable to contain her excitement. "Where do you want to go?"
Jaejoong leaned in closer “How about we go to Santorini? Japan, or even Italy?”
“Italy no, you will end up talking about work.”
Jaejoong laughed, “Santorini?”
Su Jin's eyes shimmered with joy as she nodded eagerly. "Santorini sounds perfect,”
With a sparkle in his eyes, Jaejoong nodded, his excitement matching Su Jin's. "Santorini it is then."
