you checked yourself in the mirror for the tenth time as you waited for taehyung to pick you up for your date. the word was so foreign to you considering you two have been friends awhile before you guys confessed your feelings and decided to call your hanging out “dating”. your parents had no idea, but it wasn’t like they didn’t get the clue when you and taehyung began to show signs of embarrassment from being together. it was weird, but you were happy that you two were finally taking the relationship up a step.

"somebody sure looks done up," said taehyung. you jumped at the sound of his voice, which earned a laugh from him. "whoops! sorry, I thought you heard me come up."

"how can I? you’re as sleek in your stepping as a cat." you grinned as you ran a hand through your hair, and asked, "how do I look?"

"like a nerd."

you flushed at that and laughed, it was nice that despite you two beginning a relationship you two weren’t letting go of your humor. you bit your bottom lip before nodding, “you too.”

the both of you stood in a comfortable silence as he scanned your plain white t-shirt and faded blue jeans, and you clicked your tongue to say, “okay, let’s get going.”
 

"oh my god, we’re going to the amusement park? we’re going to the amusement park?”

"yes, yes, you don’t have to keep asking me that."

you laughed at that as you pointed out, “but you turn into a baby when it comes to roller coasters, you’re not actually getting on one.”

"who knows? maybe I will, maybe I won’t."

as you two reached the ticket booth you shook your head, “no, I’m sorry, I don’t believe you.”

after the both of you got your ticket-bracelets, the first ride you decided to get on was child friendly. while you two were in line it wasn’t all that strange until you got into the seat where the both of you were a bit squished together under the bar, prompting taehyung to wrap his arm around your broad shoulders. you both were at the very last carriage, but as the ride went forward people in line began whispering at your guys’ position. a group of teenage girls even began cat calling your way, and you and taehyung blushed as you tried laughing it off.

throughout the ride taehyung was getting giddy, and from time to time he would lean his face into your neck while you let out giggles of the twists and turns. once the ride was over, you and taehyung were smiling widely enough to not care that others were staring as the two of you wrapped your arms over each other’s waist. you didn’t notice your guys’ position until you were out and choosing a ride nearby. with the two of you in line, you easily slipped from his hold, and for a second you guys showed some signs of awkwardness.

it was definitely going to take some getting used to with being affection as guy friends, especially in public, now dating.

but you tried to let it slide as you spoke, “so, did you tell anyone?”

taehyung seemed to understand what you meant as his voice softened, “about us going out?” after you nodded, he answered, “just jimin.”

"you told jimin?” you laughed, “he has the biggest mouth in school. he wouldn’t shut up about the time yoongi-hyung lost his ity.”

"yeah, but he pinky-promised me he wouldn’t say a thing."

you raised your hands and sarcastically apologized, “excuse me, why didn’t you tell me he pinky-promised.” you shook your head and crossed your arms with a scoff, of course he told jimin, the guy he’s known since middle school.

with you looking away, you peeked from your peripheral vision taehyung leaning off the chains that kept the line together, and take a step forward to you. you showed surprise when his hands reached the chains at your sides, and there was no way, even how open guys were with skinship, that you could’ve came off as friends. he was so close to you that your legs had no other choice but to go in between the spaces to avoid uncomfortably bumping into each other, even your pelvises were touching. you couldn’t stop the flush at your ears when he leaned forward and whispered, “I didn’t want you to worry, you know how you get when you worry.”

"yeah well," you tried to play off the contact, "I didn’t tell anyone."

"that’s fine, but I doubt jimin’s gonna wanna break the news that the two…hottest guys at school have decided to date each other.”

you couldn’t help but chuckle, brushing your fringe away from your eyes as you leaned forward and gave taehyung a kiss, ignoring the whispers coming from the people in the line. after you pulled away, you friendlily head butted taehyung and growled, “run these things by me next time though, how’d you feel if I told hoseok-“

"oh god, no!” taehyung cut you off before you could finish your sentence, breaking away form you and moving as the line went, “absolutely not, if you think jimin has a big mouth, hoseok-hyung is on a whole other level and that’s not an exaggeration. he wouldn’t shut the hell up about that one time he and I kissed-“

you listened as taehyung began to go on and on about the endless antics hoseok got taehyung and the rest of their friends into. gradually, the other people in the line kept a good distance away from them the second you showed some sort of affection, but you didn’t mind the more comfortable the both of you got.

it was coming to the end of your guys’ day, with taehyung eating a big bag of cotton candy while you sipped through your lemonade, and you asked, “wanna go on the ferris wheel next?”

taehyung shrugged, “uh… what about…the ride you wanted?”

"you sure?" you stifled laughter, running your fingers to brush taehyung’s hair out of his eyes as he focused more on his treat than what he was saying. "it’s the roller coaster, and I don’t think you’re going to enjoy the loops and stuff, what with how much food you vacuumed down your throat."

"so? you went on that merry-go-round with me, got on the same horse and everything."

"oh yeah," you tried to laugh off your inner embarrassment as you remembered, "that really set the bar on the fruitiest couple here."

"nu aw, you’re the fruit."

", you’re the fruit."

taehyung joked excitedly, “the fruitiest and the chewiest!”

as you laughed at him, you couldn’t help but admire just how cute he was with you. of course, he had strikingly good-looks either way, but when he was being himself instead of some godlike statue, that everyone else at school treated him as, he was just this great bundle of joy. when you were friends, it was hard for you not to kiss him on his cheeks and cuddle him up into your arms; he was the most funniest and adorable thing to you.

snapping out of your daze, you led taehyung over to the line of the ferris wheel and threw your drink in the trash. taehyung was still eating away at his cotton candy, and it didn’t take very long for you both to get seated in a carriage. honestly, you weren’t great with heights, but you had known taehyung was one of those kinds of kinds who always wanted to get on a ferris wheel with a friend and just gaze down at everyone else.

coincidentally, the ride stopped with you almost to the very top, and taehyung couldn’t stop pointing at and saying things like, “oh my god! I could see my house from here!”

you didn’t realize your arm was around him until he leaned back onto your shoulder and looked up with his eyes to you, “are you having a good time?”

you were biting your lip in thought before you mumbled, “I’m with you aren’t i? god knows I can never be bored with you.”

"and god knows I can always be myself with you."

you got a flashback of when you and taehyung were still in that awkward friend stage; where it had been awhile since you first met but you weren’t sure if you had anything in common. the only reason you knew taehyung was because of hoseok, whom seemed very interested in jimin. a lot of times you two felt like you were brought in corny double dates, although hoseok and jimin claim to be just friends. it wasn’t until after a few weeks or so did taehyung slip that he had a crush on hoseok but learned to move on. you promised you wouldn’t say anything to anybody, and to compensate even admitted you had a thing for yoongi. with this, you two were the only ones who knew about each other’s uality.

who knew two months later, it would be you guys together as each other’s first boyfriends?

taehyung re-positioned so that his lips could come in contact with the own, catching you buy surprise as you thought of what it was like first getting to know him. he tasted so much like cotton candy, obviously, and having his tongue prod inside your mouth left you in a sticky, sugary paradise. the kiss was definitely messy, the both of you still inexperienced when it came to such an activity. but over time, you knew it could get better.

but this is definitely the best.

BONUS

"I told you that you were going to throw up."

"shut u-" taehyung stuck his head back in the trashcan, regurgitating what looked like to be everything he ate at the park. it wasn’t your fault he decided to go on the roller coaster after all.

you just watched while taking a photo on your phone and sending it to hoseok, whom you knew to trust that the elder would send to all of your friends. tae and I could argue about that later.

"did you just take a photo of me?!"

"ew no, go away." you began to speed walk out of the park as taehyung followed you blindly as he was wiping excess puke on his face. "I think you fail to remember I’m the one on the track team, and you’re the one who can’t even finish the mile under 15 minutes."

you proved correct as you made it home five minutes before taehyung was knocking on your front door, begging to let him in and that he forgave you.

he was still so cute.
