You were so excited for tonight, ever since you got the text from Zico asking you out to dinner you could swear you hadn’t stopped smiling. 

It’d been so long since you’d got to hang out with Zico, you didn’t even mind when he mentioned that all of Block B would be coming along too.

You smiled thinking about your boyfriend and glanced at the clock again, 5 more minutes until Zico said he’d be here, but you didn’t really expect him to show up on time so, you went to check your makeup again.

Perhaps I overdressed for tonight, you thought, then again, he didn’t say where we were going.

Immediately after Zico asked you out, you had bought a new dress just for the occasion. It was a little out of your comfort zone, being more form fitting but the gorgeous red color was stunning. You curled your hair and spent more time on your makeup than usual, even adding a bright red lipstick for the evening.  

Mmm, well, I bet they won’t be here for a while, maybe I can tone down the make- your thought was interrupted by the sound of the doorbell. You checked your phone and it was the exact time Zico said he’d arrive. You smiled widely and rushed to open the door.

Slowly opening the door, your eyes immediately went to the face of your handsome boyfriend. He raised up one hand in a ‘hello’ gesture and you noticed a big bouquet of red roses in his other hand.

“Hey ___,” he said smiling.

You couldn’t help yourself and gave him a big hug.

“I missed you so much,” Zico whispered, kissing the top of your head.

Suddenly, you heard a couple of snickers before looking up at the other Block B members.

“Hey!” you said to the others, pulling away from Zico. You didn’t want to pull apart, but you also didn’t want to be rude.

“Sorry, they begged me to come along. It’s been a while since we’ve had an evening off,” Zico said giving an apologetic smile.

“No, it’s no problem!” you said smiling, “It’ll be fun!”

The members laughed a little and Kyung reached out to playfully punch Zico in the arm, “Well, at least one of you is happy about us being here. Our Zico wanted you all to himself, can’t blame him though, haha.”

You noticed Zico stiffen a little at Kyung’s comment, but he continued to smile down at you, clearly just as excited for your evening together as you were.

 “These are for you,” Zico said, quickly changing the subject and handing you the roses.

“Thank you, they’re beautiful,” you said holding them close.

“They’re alright,” he said shrugging, “But I see someone even prettier in red,” he winked.

A few of the BB members chuckled, trying to stifle their laughter in their hands.

“Ooh, that was so bad!” Taeil whispered, causing the others to laugh even more.

Zico’s smile twitched a little, but he ignored their comments.

“Come on, let’s get going before it gets too late,” he said. You nodded and went inside to get your purse and to carefully place the flowers on the table, silently promising to put them in water when you got back.

You went back outside to hear Zico whisper-shouting something you couldn’t make out to the guys.

“Sorry Z, it’s just so funny seeing you act like this!” Kyung said chuckling.

Zico tried to shush him and turned around to see you standing in the doorway. He smiled and held your hand as you all headed to the car.

When you reached one of the cars, Zico hurried to open the door for you.

“Ah, Hyung, even I think that’s trying too hard!” P.O said. Everyone started to laugh; even you couldn’t help but laugh a little at the cute maknae.

Zico forced out a heartless chuckle and his smile faltered once more. Once you were inside, he shut the door and glared at P.O.

While the group split into two cars, Zico took the wheel and Kyung and Jaehyo were seated behind you.

“You look amazing,” Zico said as his eyes scanned over your new dress.

“Thanks,” you said, “I didn’t know if it was too dressy or-“

“No, no, no,” he quickly interrupted, “You’re perfect.” Zico gave you a lazy little half smile that caused your heart to beat faster.

Laughter from the backseat came again, but this time you noticed Zico clutched the steering wheel a little tighter, a worried look crossing his face.

You couldn’t help but smile a little when you finally noticed that he was trying so hard to be a cute, cheesy boyfriend, the total opposite of his usual aloof, hip hop persona and the members were relentless with their teasing.

You could hear the members continuing the teasing behind you as you leaned in towards Zico, tilting his head to give him a kiss.

Everyone went silent and when you pulled back you couldn’t help but giggle a little at Zico’s surprised face.

“Thank you for being so sweet, since the start of our date.”

Everyone was silent for a while and Zico was frozen in place. You smiled and leaned in again, giving him a small peck on the cheek. This seemed to break him out of his trance and he cleared his throat, facing forward again, a small smile forming on his lips. You giggled again, noticing the red lipstick on his mouth and cheek.

“R-Right,” he said, turning the key in the engine, “Let’s get going.”
