Building sandcastles in the air instead of real ones of sand. The blue dream of the sky illuminates warmth, reassurance and hope. But all Taehyung felt was the hollow gnawing of restraint in him.    He's stupid. Incredibly stupid and selfish. All he thinks of is himself. He watches the turquoise blanket unfold in front of him, crashing on his feet as waves. Taehyung came here often, it was hardly a place to call his favorite, but things happened here. Things that Taehyung can't get out of his head even if he tried. It haunted him like a forgotten dream, whispering sweet love, then punching him with screams of hurt and loss.    All this but he still thinks of himself. He still wants his dream.    Twenty years of desperation and irrationality, Taehyung still wants to be free.   And out of all the people which condemned Taehyung of his certain wish, Seokjin affected him the most.    "This dream of yours," Seokjin said in his smooth, silky voice,"clearly, tells me you're an idiot."    He said it like that. With no touch of hesitation or a sense of pity. Taehyung knows he is an idiot, but even so he almost cried. Almost.    "And it's amazing," Seokjin suddenly grins and Taehyung's eyes widened at the change of events.    "Your dream is idiotic, but amazing," Seokjin purses his lips and smiles at Taehyung, whose heart beats a thousand a second.    "I'm hope you get what you want, Kim Taehyung."    And this is the story of how you aren't very different from anyone else at all.    Or so you might hope.                      Taehyung's bed is always by the window. Always. He would repeat it again if he needed to. He liked the window. It housed a moving picture of the waves rippling onto the shore, noisy birds soaring the skies, and this vast brown floor which one of the nurses told him it was sand.    Taehyung wondered how sand would feel like beneath his feet. He wonder how anything would feel beneath his feet.    He wants to travel the world, he wants to pull off the chains that hugged him tightly and shove them onto the ground. Wanderlust is his fuel, helping him to stay alive and survive. It's what prevents him from going mad. Perhaps he's already mad, insane with desperation. Taehyung stares out of the window with blankness and his eyes so hollow they would send a person to get in and never come out.    Until an unfamiliar voice sputtered,"you...you're not going to eat that?"    Taehyung turns his head robotically towards the sound. A tall boy with wide shoulders and a clear mischievous glint in his eyes stared back at Taehyung.    Taehyung could swear he never saw anyone's eyes so alive.    "You can have it," Taehyung gestures the muffin to the boy, but he shook his head vigorously in response.    "You eat it," he pushes the muffin back,"you never seem to eat anything...and you look so sad all the time..." The boy blushes at his mistake and quickly babbles,"n-not like I look at you from my mom's office...I never do that!" He realized his second mistake, clamping his mouth shut.    This is the first time someone around his age has made this long a conversation with him. Taehyung is, admitting, kind of glad.    "Hey, anyway," the boy chuckles nervously,"I'm Seokjin, and I'm eleven in December. You're T- I mean, what's your name?" Seokjin smiled brightly as if it would cover his embarrassment and Taehyung pursed his lips in amusement.    "Taehyung. Eight in December, too," he replied shyly. Seokjin's smiles turns his eyes into crescents.    "December is a long way, right?" he scoffed jokingly,"say, you wanna go out and play sometime or...." He trails off at Taehyung's sudden crestfallen face. Seokjin quickly mumbles an apology but Taehyung shrugs it off.    "Sorry," Taehyung tries to sound bold but he could feel his voice wavering," I can't...walk."    Ugh. He hated himself.    There's a thing Taehyung doesn't like. It's telling other people about his own problems. It's weak, Taehyung thinks, he doesn't need their pity. Taehyung disrupts their awkward eye contact and stares out of the window again.    Silence enveloped the room and Taehyung's sure he's going to choke of all the tension. And the new boy decides to ruin the silence.    "Do you know what that is?" Seokjin climbs on his bed before he could protest and points at the ocean.    "What?" Taehyung frowns and squints. He doesn't say anything peculiar.    "That line at the end of the ocean," Seokjin piped and traces it along the window," it's called a horizon, where the Sun and Moon sleep and awake." He smiles in relief at Taehyung's now brightened features.    "Only planes and big, fast boats can reach it," he continues," lots of people try to see what's over there, but it's really hard." Taehyung notices how alive the sparkling glint in his eyes is when Seokjin talks about the ocean.   It must be a beautiful place.    "I want to reach it," Taehyung blurts out," and I want to climb mountains, and cross rivers..and go on many adventures."    As he says it, Taehyung sees Seokjin look at his crippled legs for a brief moment, a slightly baffled look on the older's face.    This is it, Taehyung thinks, where Seokjin laughs at me like the rest of them.    But Seokjin smiles, almost fondly.    "You're a special kind of dumb, Taehyung."    Taehyung takes it as compliment.                      Fourteen years old but he still can't fold a simple paper plane. Taehyung looks at his crumpled paper dumbly, bored out of his skull. Paper planes are stupid and useless, he thinks, they can't even fly very far.    As he allowed his thoughts to drift, they start to compare himself to those wretched things.    He realizes how similar he is to them, and Taehyung's disgusted with himself.    But since when has he not? Taehyung subconsciously lets out a small sigh.    "Hey." The single syllable startled Taehyung, he turns around to the sound, finding Seokjin's handsome face inches from his own; it was too close for comfort. Taehyung could feel heat burning his cheeks and he pushes Seokjin's face away, ignoring the snickers from the elder.    "You're too close," Taehyung mutters quietly with pink cheeks, Seokjin chuckling at his cute behavior. He climbs onto Taehyung's bed and plops a muffin onto the built-in table. This wasn't new. Every time Seokjin visited the crippled boy he'd crawl under the covers with the younger and bring a muffin with him, noisily claiming Taehyung was too skinny.    "Seriously, you're seventeen but you act like seven," Taehyung shoots a glance at him airily. Seokjin laughs.    "You're fourteen but you act like forty...seriously," he teases, mimicking Taehyung, before squealing and edging away as Taehyung beat him playfully.     "What are you doing here, anyway?" Taehyung asks, leaning his head tiredly on Seokjin's broad shoulder," do the nurses know y-"    "But what are you doing?" Seokjin interrupts calmly, tearing the muffin wrapper and handing the muffin to Taehyung, the boy taking it gratefully.    "What was that sigh for? What was that sad face for? You're beautiful, Taehyung," Seokjin says softly and Taehyung has to look away and bite his lower lips so he could stop smiling.    Seokjin's painfully straightforward and honest. Whether for good or bad intentions, Seokjin makes sure Taehyung knows what he's thinking.    And it's probably why Taehyung adores the older so much.    "Making paper planes," Taehyung said and lets out a small smile at Seokjin," okay, trying to."    S

ive read this once way back 2014, and suprisingly after 5 years, i still feel the same way ive felt before, it gave me a spiral of emotions.

im really glad this fic came back. around 2017, this piece disappeared (i think you deactivated that time). it was the first fic ive been looking for ever since i came back to the fandom. im delighted that i came across this fic again today.

i love how real the scenes were. the subtle moments of the two, it makes us crave for more. the sudden turn of events was good, it's not coerced to fit in the story. the ending was not rushed nor sloppy, the pacing is fine. it was really well-written.
